Bar Sous Sol

I love it here. We come early, shortly after they open and get most of the bar to ourself. The bartenders have a chance to talk us through some menu items before it gets busy. Cocktails are always fabulous, well balanced and full of complex flavour. I’m let down by most bars in this city cause the drinks are overpowered by citrus or you can’t taste other layers of the drink. Not here. The bartenders put a lot of care into the different homemade syrups and infusions and it all really comes through.

We went this past Saturday night after having dinner at Maison Selby upstairs. The entire experience was perfect. Dinner was amazing, we had the 5 course tasting menu and plenty of well crafted cocktails. We were brought downstairs to Bar Sous Sol afterwards by the staff, where we were met with the amazingly talented mixologist Carlen. He crafted spectacular libations that enchanted our already perfect evening. Thank you Carlen, we will be back and we will send our friends. Cheers from Haven Salon.

A hidden speakeasy/gem in the basement of Maison Selby, the cocktails beautifully and tasty. The mixologist was social, attentive, and made delicious drinks.

Ultra vibey place for an exquisite drink or five. If you’re a gin lover try the pineapple one— I forgot the name of it, but the master bartender will know which one, as well as know how to execute your favourite drink to a level that I never knew I was missing. I hate espresso martinis, but this dude whipped up my girlfriend’s espresso martini with so much soul I complimented it more than she did. 10/10

The music was loud and it was hard to have a conversation but the place and seats and decor was nice. Drinks were alright, the bartender was really nice and gave great service! Even the staff that took us downstairs to the bar was also very friendly.

Be careful, at the speakeasy, the bartender who was also the server would charge you $10 extra for using alcohol. I was charged $32 for one basic drink as he charged me $10 extra for tequila. The real question is what did he add in the $22 if he is charging me extra for alcohol. It was a weird experience so I called the manager who fixed it right away and seemed annoyed at him. Be careful

Intimate and cozy spot with a classy dimly lit atmosphere. Good drinks. Ideal for small groups of 2-4.

Great experience, very well received. The concept of the hidden bar is excellent,a very chic, glamorous decor with filtered light. The team is very nice, the Barman makes delicious cocktail with passion. I recommend this place for a date or even with friends. However I advise not to come more than 4/5 people because the place is small ( which makes its charm) and it’s without reservation. Love this place!
