Bar Topa

Tucked away in a small laneway next to Bar Totti’s, this cozy little spot feels like a hidden gem. We went around 6pm on a weekday and were able to get seats without any trouble. The space is quite intimate — two rows of bar seating inside, a couple of window seats, and a few tables outside. Small, but full of charm. The atmosphere is warm and relaxed, and the staff were genuinely lovely. It’s the kind of place that makes you want to slow down and enjoy your evening. The food was excellent. The spicy potatoes were perfectly crispy, and the mushroom yolk dish was rich and flavorful — the combination of earthy mushrooms and silky egg yolk paired with bread was especially satisfying. The octopus was also well cooked and tasty, though the portion was on the smaller side and included some potatoes. Overall, a great spot for a relaxed dinner with great vibes. I’d happily come back again just for the atmosphere alone.

What a unique place! I absolutely love the decor and the vibe here. They don’t have reservations so it might take a while to be seated during busy dinner hours. The food was delicious! We tried the wagyu steak, mushroom and yolks, chicken, and chorizo. Everything is cooked perfectly with so much flavor. I would try everything on the menu if I could!

This is the Second time I have been to Bar Topa and both times were fantastic. Super tasty food (not aesthetic looking photos attached to my review but that’s because it was so delicious). We had the white anchovies, octopus which was cooked beautifully, lovely and tender and the Wagyu steak which was one of the best stakes I’ve had. Perfectly salty, juicy and delicious. Super friendly staff, nice cocktails and a great vibe. I’ve been when it’s busy and when it’s quiet and both times felt nice and atmospheric. Highly recommend for an easy going dinner/drinks.

It's a cozy little nook between big restaurants in the middle of the Sydney CBD, offering good tapas portions, cocktails and wine. The space is exactly like pinxtos places in Spain (except there are bar seats 😊). Had the Gildas with my fave anchoas. The chorizo were delicious and the Basque cheesecake was perfect for me.

A little tapas bar in between the larger venues and clubs. Stays open late. Too late for a regular dinner and so we happened to wander in. We discovered high quality fresh and delicious tapas. The staff was excellent on advice on the dishes but lacked a bit of knowledge on wine, which were all quite average. Although pricy, the tapas are really authentic. Perhaps just a small effort is needed to offer a selection of finer wines 👍🏻

I have to say this place gives us a total surprise. All the dishes were sooo good. I had a lot of tapas in Spain and other countries, but this place is easily my top 3. Highly recommend. The batata bravas, the steak sandwich, the peppers, etc.

Nice and welcoming service. I ordered the octopus and the wagyu beef steak (medium rare). The octopus was tender and flavorful, but the steak was a bit too chewy in places, with a few pieces slightly dry. The red wine I chose was generally pleasant. The total came to $77.81.

Beautiful food, chill environment, good for after work small catch up. Narrow restaurant and hard to fit large group, the chair is hard to sit for long and staff is less attentive. Overall, good exprience.
