Google
The original milk bar. Was told about it and suggested by Polish friends, so had to try and have not been disappointed. Food is delicious, homemade, and a great variety of choice. Atmosphere, authentic... people from all walks of life, ready to embrace the experience. Highly recommend.

A lot of people go there, maybe because it is supposed to be cheaper- but I find that the prices in the restaurants are the same but you get way more delicious meals, freshly made. I didn’t like the food - only the schnitzel was ok, but again- nothing was fresh, lacked salt and when these things stay overtime they are getting soggy, not crunchy like they are supposed to be.

Stopped here for breakfast at 8am Saturday morning in September. No line, no wait. The nice lady did not speak English and I communicated mostly by pointing. She pointed at something that looked good and I just nodded my head. It was nalesniki stuffed with cabbage with side of mushroom gravy. Amazing.

Local self-service restaurant with traditional Polish food. You can choose soups, main dishes and also desserts separately – I paid 47 zł in total for a soup and a main dish. I had Ukrainian beetroot soup, which was tasty and a breaded pork cutlet with potatoes, stewed cabbage and beetroot purée. Everything was filling and satisfying. The place is divided into two sections and also offers outdoor seating. A good option if you want to try everyday Polish food in a simple setting.

You all know, you who have been to a canteen of former days. In those days it was really good. On the rare occasions you find one now you might be suspicious. But here it's still good filling tasty food. Really recommended! I stumbled in after closing time but took what was still available and were allowed to have my meal during cleaning time. Creds!

Very tasty, quality homemade food. Excellent prices. The girl who served us was very helpful as we do not speak Polish (visiting from Scotland), was patient with us and spoke English to us-thank you. Do not miss this place if you are in Gdansk.

Tasty food, huge portions. I ate 60% of my plate before giving up. I skipped dinner after having lunch here. I should have just shared a plate with my husband. My advice is to order one portion first and look at the size before ordering for other people in your group.

This place is really popular with a line outside the door, As a English speaker I was able to order food relatively easy by pointing at what I wanted. It is a mix of cafeteria/buffet style where you pick what you want and then pay based on what you pick. Not a lot of seats for how popular it is so make sure to check if seating is available prior to getting food. Most tables sit around 2 to 4 people. For the food it's traditional polish cuisine.

Yelp
4.5 stars! There's nothing particularly "touristy" about Bar Turystyczny! This classic milk bar has a menu entirely in Polish and a staff that's been cooking classic Polish food since the 60s, as the photos on the wall can attest! This is the place for a quick, cheap, yet tasty Polish meal. Their recommended dish of the day was the Nalesniki, or crepes filled with fermented cabbage and topped with a creamy mushroom sauce. I also got the chlodnik, a creamy pink Lithuanian beet soup made with sour cream, vegetables, dill, and a hard-boiled egg--a super refreshing combination for a hot day! And to round it all out, there was a huge selection of vegetable side dishes, including fried cabbage, shredded beets, and a refreshing cabbage/carrot/dill slaw. The value for the food here was simply unbelievable, and the views of the Main Town alone made this a worthwhile stop!

Yelp
We tried probably 5 or 6 milk bars on our trip through Poland and this was our favorite. No wonder there's a line out the door! Everything is laid out in front of you so you can see and point even if you don't speak Polish. We tried pork cutlet, chicken cutlet, boiled potatoes, French fries, carrots and peas, and some cabbage salad, and it was all really tasty and comforting. Would totally go back if we ever return to Gdansk!

Yelp
Expectations were high because of all the milkbar-hype, but it had everything : a queue of locals including an old lady taking lots of food home with her in her own tupperware. Real polish food like "gypsy pancake" and kotelet with beetroot and mashed potatoes. Really cheap, wholesome dishes and still the authentic milkbar feel (I think, ofcourse I havent been to one before ;)

Yelp
Another great milk bar in Gdańsk. A variety of good, homemade Polish food. Prices are reasonable too! Grab a table on the main floor or on the second floor, rest your feet, and enjoy a good, warm, and home cooked meal.
