"This wildlife reserve in St. Peter parish is designed to present several animal species native to Barbados in their natural environment. Visitors can stroll through habitats that feature armadillo, brocket deer, pelicans, caimans, and monkeys. Reptiles including snakes, iguanas, turtles, and tortoises also share the reserve, alongside colorful parrots and flamingos."

We had a different expectation of the “monkey feeding,” so here is what it’s actually like. At a specific time, the staff brings out two buckets of mixed fruits and gently places the food into one or two spots on the ground. The monkeys then come from all directions to enjoy their meal. You are not allowed to touch or feed them — you simply observe as they eat, interact with each other, and sort out their little social dynamics. Overall, we enjoyed the small zoo area. We saw peacocks, guinea fowls, some very cool stone-colored Cuban iguanas, and many turtles freely walking around. There were also parrots, which were fun to see, and we even spotted two small caimans in the water area, along with a few aquatic turtles. One rabbit looked a bit unwell, but it was moving. Keep in mind that you don’t feed the monkeys yourself — you only watch from a distance. The trails with the turtles aren’t really worth the time; there isn’t much to see there. Tickets today were 20 USD for adults and 10 USD for children. We didn’t see any deer — only sheep and bulls as we walked around the property.

So much to see here. There are multiple paths that allow you to explore without simply following the people in front of you. Green monkeys are everywhere and the feeding is a fun experience. The are so many different animals to see up close. There is a small informative museum inside and just so much to see. You will enjoy the shade of the thick canopy while you make your way in and among the natural beauty of the reserve.

I wished I had more time to truly enjoy this reserve. This is a MUST visit if you love nature and animals. My visit came close to the of the day but very memorable none the less. We were the only people there, Thank You to Owner/ Manager!! I really wanted to see the monkeys 🐒 and get a picture with one. Check but next time hopefully I won't have to kneel down (getting up for me is a problem 😅). And hopefully be there for the feeding. Oh, and the monkeys didn't seem to care about us. They were living their best lives so I felt safe.

Overall great experience! Definitely plan your time here. I think this is a great stop if you are on this side of the island. Feed Times : 10 AM - 2 PM I highly recommend you bring close toed shoes with grip. Bricks can be slippery when wet. Your ticket also includes the signal station that is on the same property. Definitely a good place to get some history. This is open nature reserve. Watch out for the red tortoises .

We had an amazing time at this Wild reserve. My daughter, 5 years old was really excited to spot so many tortoises! Observing monkeys so close by was very exciting too. Would have spent more time if we could. Highly recommend.

My family and I agreed that it was one of the best experience in Barbados. Specially because compared to other prices on the island, they asked so reasonable money - 15 USD per person which is even “cheap” in this island. SO totally worth it and animals are super friendly.

Visited here during one of our port days in Barbados from our cruise. Really enjoyed seeing the monkeys and tortoises. The paths are very difficult and jagged.

We come to Barbados every year and do the monkey sanctuary every time. If what you want to see is monkeys, this is the place to go. Time your visit for feeding time to maximize monkey time.
