Wow. I've had bbq all over and I thought Utah had good bbq, but this place hands down has the best bbq I've ever had. I got the beef ribs, 1.25 lbs of beef on the bone, and I got their brisket. They have both fatty and lean brisket. Really, really good. They gave me an end piece. I love the sauces. Mustard, habanero, and molasses. Om nom nom.

BLUF: A clean, welcoming BBQ restaurant with open seating in which the meats are moist and flavorful, the side dishes are fresh and delicious, and the service is quick and friendly. This is the best BBQ I've had since moving to Texas a year ago. It's pricey, but it's worth every penny. My wife and I stayed at a hotel near Lake Travis to do some boating, and we were looking for a BBQ joint for dinner. We went to one near the lake, but they were out of all meats but pork butt. We drove another 20 minutes to Stiles Switch and were so glad we did. The restaurant's location is probably not the best part of Austin, and I was a bit skeptical based on the exterior. The colossal metal entrance door gives off a biker bar vibe, and I was a bit concerned as it opened. However, when the door opened, I was pleased to see an open-seating restaurant where you order, receive, and pay for your food at the same counter, similar to other BBQ joints in Texas. As we walked up, we were greeted by the manager, Jeff, who provided us with samples of sausage and turkey. The sausage was great, but I was most surprised by the moistness of the turkey. Juicy and flavorful, it was the best turkey I've ever had at a BBQ restaurant. I got a two-meat platter with brisket and sausage, a side of Brussels sprouts, and a corn casserole. OMG, the corn casserole is fantastic! The Brussels sprouts were delicious too, but hot damn, the corn casserole is so good. There used to be a place where I would get corn pie in San Luis Obispo, CA, and this is the only other place I've ever found it. This will be a part of our future Lake Travis boat trips!

I was very underwhelmed by this food and considering the price a bit upset. I paid around $90 to get 2 3-meat platters and a peach cobbler. I was very excited given the reviews. Let me start by saying the peach cobbler was very good. However, everything else was less than ok. Ribs and brisket were dry and overly salty. Macaroni had zero flavor. Cole slaw had an odd taste, and my friend said they didn't enjoy the pinto beans. This is just my experience and maybe I got a bad batch, who knows! But not sure I'd pay the price for this place again.

Placed a togo order....Spent $100, and gave a $15 tip before I even got to see what kind of service I was going to get. Well...it was horrible service. I asked if they got all my sides and they said yes. They left off 3, when I went back to ask for them I guess it bothered them...they did not care and was rude to me for me asking for what I paid for. They did not ask if I wanted onion or pickles and then gave me 4 slices of bread!?!?! I ordered almost 2 lbs of brisket , turkey and sausage and a bunch of sides. Who gets all that and gets 4 slices of bread!?!! Not one person apologized and no one seemed to care. No one said thank you or was helpful and I really felt like no one cared if my order was right. We will NEVER go back. There are so many other BBQ's places around Austin that I am sure would appreciate our money. Tried emailing Shane, but it was not a valid email.

BOMB bbq! A coworker in Austin recommended this place to me, and it was so good! I ordered a 2 meat plate which comes with 2 sides. I got brisket and pork ribs with sides of tater tot casserole and Brussels sprouts. I also got a pint of the corn casserole to go. The meat was fantastic! Fabulous texture and delicious flavor. I also love that I came in around 7:30pm, and they still had brisket (this is not the case in some of my other fave bbq places). The tater tot casserole - delicious. I mean, cmon it's basically loaded tots. Fantastic. The Brussels sprouts were covered in a sweet heat glaze. I want to make this at home it was so good. Corn casserole was SO GOOD. I love corn everything, like LOVE LOVE. This was so delicious. It's reminiscent of Mexican sweet corn tomalito.

The food was AMAZING!!!! The brisket was so good, full of flavor, moist and tender. Sauces were really good. All the sides were great as well. So glad we tried this!!! Highly recommend.

This is one of our barbecue go-to places when we have company in town and it did not disappoint again. Although I was not very hungry due to a larger than usual breakfast, I ordered two slices of the beef brisket with just a couple of pieces of bread. As in the past, I was not disappointed, the meat was extremely tender, juicy, and very tasty. We happen to go on the day after the solar eclipse so there was about a 25-minute line but it moved well enough and there was still plenty of seating by the time we got our food.

3.5* It was quite the wait (roughly 50 minutes) before we got to the front of the line. We knew what we wanted and ordering was a breeze. It was unfortunate that they had run out of beef ribs by the time we got to the front though. I was tempted to try the tres leches but thought the price was a bit too high. What we got: St Louis pork ribs - 5* this was hands down the best meat of the lot. Prime brisket - 2* was surprisingly lacking flavor and a bit dry. Jalapeno and cheddar sausage - 3* a solid sausage but nothing life-changing. Hawg rub fries - 4* solid fries. Serrano glazed brussel sprouts - 5* and beyond this was the winner of the whole meal. I'd love to know how to make them

First thing that caught my attention is that the staff are super nice and friendly. You enter, get in the lineup, pay, take your cutlery and find a table to sit and enjoy your food. You can choose from the sandwich menu or meat plates (2sides included). Meat options are smoked chicken, turkey breast, pork ribs, pulled pork, beef brisket and sausage. Or, you can order beef ribs, period! I ordered a 2-meat platter of beef brisket and sausage with the sides of coleslaw and homemade fries. Brisket was tender and juicy and very delicious. And as they say themselves, it's the homemade sausage of the month!

From the moment I walked in, the bustling atmosphere and inviting aroma of barbecue had me excited for my very first experience of Texas barbecue. There was a line when we got there but it moved pretty quickly and it got busier as the evening went on. The staff was very friendly and welcoming. They even gave us complimentary tastes of the delicious brisket while we waited in line. Highlights: * Brisket (10/10) - with its perfect balance of smokiness and tenderness. * Sweet Serrano fried Brussels sprouts (9/10) - it was so flavorful and had a kick to it that paired exceptionally well with the richness of the meats. * Corn casserole (8.5/10) - this was my sister's favorite side. It's so simple but absolutely delicious! * Pork and beef ribs (9/10) - both were succulent and packed with flavor. We also ordered mac n' cheese but found it was pretty average. It didn't really stand out compared to the other side dishes. Would definitely come back here again!

Went with friends for lunch in May 2024. It was a mix of quality, mostly poor. The brisket and chicken were overcooked, tough, and dry: everything that makes the difference between a good BBQ joint and one I'll never return to. There's no excuse for that in a city where there are countless better choices. My friends concurred.

This is a 4.5, not a 4, but couldn't get the half star going. Everything we had was incredible. We went for a late lunch on Thursday which was great because it was practically empty, no line & no wait. We had ribs, brisket, chicken, potato salad and fries...yum, yum yumm. Service was great, very helpful folks there.

First time trying this bbq joint and it did not disappoint! I chose the two meat plater which came with two sides and some bread if you wanted. The brisket was super tender. The pork ribs were also very tasty. For the two sides I chose mac and cheese and also a cornbread casserole. The service was great, once you enter you order your bbq, sides and can see them cutting the meat right at the counter. If you are near Daiso, its right down the road, definitely give them a try if you're nearby.

So much more convenient than having to go downtown for BBQ! Located in North Lamar this place has great bbq, great service, and very chill and laid back ambience. I came here for some quick eats to take home so I got a pound of pulled pork and a a pound of brisket all for a great price. Staff was super friendly and gave me sides like pickles, onions and bbq sauce. The cashier was super friendly too in giving me plastic utensils and paper plates. Will have to check out what it's like eating in because even at lunch time the place seemed very lively!

When in Texas... barbecueeee. I was not only impressed by the food but also the service!! Everyone was so welcoming and helpful. I need to give a shout out to Dwayne who was very considerate about making sure my bbq experience as a Floridian was enjoyable. The brisket was on point! I ordered the serrano glazed brussel sprouts and corn casserole as sides and they were both very tasty. Their house made sauce is like a bbq and butter situation and it is yummy. The wings were also super on point! I then ordered some stuff to-go so I can fly it back with me for my boyfriend in Florida and they made sure to wrap it up nice and tight for travel. ;) It was close to closing time and the staff didn't rush us out or anything. Highly recommend!!!!

Super quick stop for lunch so that's all I can comment on but man, it was amazing. I live in Texas for about 15 years and grew to appreciate Texas barbecue. Yeah, you can get it other states too, but there's something special, and definitely better, about Texas barbecue. Usually when I'm in town, I tend to want to go to places like Franklin's or Salt Lick. Sometimes it's even nostalgic to take a run down to County Line. But honestly, some of the best barbecue is coming out of some of the smaller places now, and this is one of them! I just had a sandwich and some potato salad and both were fantastic. It comes with a thinner sauce, but there is a chili lime sauce on the table. That was a bit more like traditional barbecue sauce. I believe there was also a balsamic one which I did not try. It's a big place with lots of seating and lots of parking. You order at the counter. It wasn't particularly crowded when we were there. It had a friendly vibe! I'll be back to try more. Highly recommend!

Stiles was very busy and in a terrible neighborhood. Food was ok. I guess I'm a BBQ snob. I would not return.

Another good meal at Stiles. I stopped by last night and ordered the 2 meat plate and got brisket and ribs. The sides I chose were the coleslaw and cucumber and tomatoe salad. The brisket was very moist. The ribs were dry rubbed, but they came off the bone with little effort. The service is fast and friendly. I like the layout of the dining area and the different decorations on the walls. I will stick with my 5 stars once again. Thank you, Stiles and Switch, for providing good BBQ!

One meat plate - pork ribs 2 sides - Mac n cheese + potato salad You can get bread, pickles, onions, pickled onions, jalapeños with it. The mac n cheese surprisingly had some spice, but it was delicious! The potato salad is very filling. I thought the pork ribs were a bit on the saltier side, but if you eat it with bread the flavors balance out. Water from soda fountains usually taste diluted but the water here was normal. The staff was friendly and gave me a to-go bag when I asked for one. To-go boxes are next to the soda machines. Heating up the food the next day tasted better (especially the warm pickles!)

Wash your hands before you order because you WILL be licking those fingers! It's a casually cool vibe great for groups or solo eating. The service is just wonderful: smiles, knowledge, and a love for their product and each other oozed out of every employee. I got turkey, brisket, mac&chz, and corn soufflé. And banana pudding. A. Mac is good, but the corn deserves a double order B. They give you a ramekin of sauce. Toss it. Grab the mustard and Chili Lime sauce off the table and ask for extra ramekins to go! C. Those house made pickles are bomb! D. I need more pudding! Go. Fill your belly and soul. Get more to go!

Stiles Switch delivers flavorful Texas BBQ with unique sides while featuring craft brew on tap! My favorite is getting two meat plate because you get to try more and if you don't finish it take it home for later! Their corn casserole and potato salad are some of the best in town! They're rubs, brisket, and sausage are to die for. I also am so happy they've added new sauces to the tables. It's my favorite place to bring out of town visitors to for a memorable Texas BQQ experience!

As expat Austinite, somehow we always arrive to Styles Switch from the airport! I have not had a dish/meat that wasn't absolutely delish. Brisket burnt ends (they may give you one to nibble on in line) are perfectly burnt! Ribs are Flintstone-size -- can easily feed 2, meat falls off the bone, yum. There is a plethora of traditional bbq sides that have home-cooked goodness built in. EVEN the Chili Cheese Dog was delectable with their brisket chili! Personal tables and family style tables available, as well as a large outdoor dining patio. A comfortable, inviting place. A 'don't miss' bbq experience :-)

Some of the best wings I've ever had with the Alabama white sauce! My boyfriend wholeheartedly agreed. We also had the brisket and smoked turkey. Both were good (because honestly, what bbq in Austin isn't good) but not mindblowingly phenomenal. I was not a huge fan of the mac and cheese, it was a little on the mushy side for my personal taste. The corn casserole was excellent. The beans were extremely middling. I didn't love that the sauces were so thin; I much preferred the bottles of sauces that were sitting at the table. Cute ambiance and not super busy!

This place was crazy busy on a Tuesday in July, when it was 113 degrees outside. They were out of pork ribs and chicken at 7 pm, but we made due. The brisket was the best I have ever had, and the pulled pork was equally awesome. I had the Serrano Brussel sprouts, and they were good and spicy. The macaroni and cheese was a little disappointing (if M&C can be disappointing). It was cheesy enough but was lacking flavor. They have three or four BBQ sauces, but why bother when the meat is this good? One thing I would do differently next time? Get here earlier and try those pork ribs!

Everything I had was nut allergy friendly. Not sure about the desserts. We arrived at Stiles Switch around 4:40PM on a Saturday afternoon. There was a small line but it only took a few minutes. We were very warmly welcomed by the gentleman slicing brisket, who offered us a sample while we pondered individual plates or a family pack for four. We ended up ordering a family pack with the corn casserole and brussel sprouts as sides, ($90) with two beef ribs added on ($77). I was worried that coming late in the day would mean that we get old barbecue or that they would run out of things, but I had nothing to fear today! The barbecue was overall phenomenal for the great location and the nontraditional sides were the best of any barbecue place I've been to. Barbecue sauce: The one that is provided is pretty liquid. The ones on the table are the normal consistency. Brisket: Tender, peppery, smoky. Bark was crispy and flavorful. Excellent job. Jalapeno Cheese Sausage: The most standard of the meats and the least "wow" factor. It's good, but nothing special. It's got the spice and the smokiness. Pork ribs: Similarly peppery, tender, great job with the glaze. Beef Ribs: The most expensive thing on the menu and well worth a try. They are massive and slow smoked to perfection. Fall of the bone tender and fatty. Worth it. Corn Casserole: Sweet but juicy - like cornbread and sweet corn had a baby. It was really good. Brussel Sprouts: Packing some heat with the peppers but also sweet with the glaze at the same time. I could eat these all day. Stiles Switch stands strong with Austin barbecue and I look forward to bringing visitors here!

This restaurant is a typical rustic Texas bbq joint- you get in line, pick your plate options, pay, and eat right away! I'm not the biggest fan of bbq sauce, so I rely on the meat to be tender and juicy. I ordered the 2 meat plate with brisket and jalapeno cheddar sausage. The sausage was juicy. The brisket was a bit dry, but I think it was a one off. They had a cheesy loaded tator tot casserole that was absolutely amazing. It was topped with bacon and chives and was so gooey whilst still having the crunch of the tater tots. I am not embarrassed to say that I ate another side order of the casserole after I finished my meal.

We were in the search for our first BBQ spot in Austin, Texas which led us to Stiles! The service was on point as they were very friendly and helped us out choose what meats to order. They gave us different meats to try before finalizing our order! The ambiance of the restaurant was very country like which was really cool! Also want to mention that there were so many different BBQ sauce.

St. Louis Rib: 5 Brisket: 3 Jalapeño Cheddar Sausage: 3 Corn casserole: 3 The pork ribs were the star of the show. Some of the best I've had. Perfect bite. Loved the spice dimension it had to it. Solid BBQ. Overall 3.5. A four and above put you in the top tier. This place is outside of those notable places (Interstellar, Brown's, Terry Black's, Franklin's, La Barbecue, Micklethwait...)

Kids were asleep so we ate in the car, but damn it was good!! Brisket = fire Sauce = fire Brussels = fire Potato salad = fire Probably everything here is amazing.

We came to Stiles around 715pm for dinner. We had their beef rib and original sausage as well as their juicy brisket. For the sides we potato salad and brussels sprouts for the sides. The beef rib was juicy and tender. Had a good bark on it although slightly more chew on some parts of the bark but it was very enjoyable. The brisket was fatty which is what we wanted and good. Not as juicy as the rib and the sausage was good, not spicy, peppery just a good smoked sausage. The potato salad was creamy and delicious. Not too starting off a dill flavor but was very good with everything. The brussels do have a nice little kick to them so be prepared for that. Not crispy brussels sprouts but still very tasty save enjoyable. The staff was very nice and friendly. The place had a food hall feel but it felt nice, homey, and comforting. All in all very much a place worth going back to

Go-to BBQ in Cedar Park / Leander! Anytime my partner and I are craving BBQ we end up at Stiles. I remember our first visit here. Honestly it's no different than any visit that has followed. Staff at Stiles is so welcoming and helpful. If you want to try something they'll gladly get you a sample. The brisket is so tasty and falls apart when you try to pick it up. There's multiple flavors of sausage and all are delicious. Pickles, onions, and bread are all complimentary. We've never tried desert because we're always so full after each ordering the two meat plate. Our favorite sides are the macaroni and cheese + fries (some of my favorite fries). Stiles gets a 4/5 because it's just that good.

Whether you're visiting from out of town, or an Austin local, you have got to get yourself to Stiles Switch for some dang good BBQ! Beyond their buttery brisket, their chicken packs a punch with the loaded, flavorful season rub that amps up the volume times ten. If you are a fan of sauces, they've got you covered with multiple bottles set on the table. They do not skimp with their portions, so come hungry!!! Also need to add that the service is incredible. Employees behind the counter were recommending pairings with my chicken and came over to our table to check on us with a big smile on their face. It made us feel so special and valued as a customer!

Not a bad place to grab some BBQ and hang out with friends. It does get very busy during peak hours such as dinner time and weekends. Their brisket and sausage are very tasty. The corn casserole is out of this world. I could only eat that and be satisfied if that was an option. I was disappointed with the mac n cheese. Flavorless and the cheese seemed watery. I wouldn't get that again.

@stilesswitchbbq is hands down the best bbq I've been. I ordered the trifecta of Ribs, Brisket, and the Jalapeno Cheddar Sausage...OMG all three hit of flavor. FUN FACT: The Violet Crown Shopping Center, one of the "oldest" shopping centers in central Austin, was also the film production hub for the late 1990s film "Dazed and Confused" starring Matthew McConaughey. The Stiles Switch BBQ lease space is the famed "Emporium" pool hall filmed in the movie. #livinbistro

BEST bbq I've ever had. We were immediately greeted with the friendliest workers, and they handed us a tray of pieces of brisket for us to sample. All of us gasped at how tender this brisket was! It really just melts in your mouth. The 6 of us shared the family meal, which included 2 sides (we chose the Mac n cheese and their new side, the tater tot casserole), sausage, pork ribs and the brisket. We added another order of beef ribs to it. To our surprise, the meal included a variety of pickles, onions & jalapeños which was so tasty. There were also a variety of bbq sauces to choose from. Delicious!!

Top choices are the brisket, beans , and potato salad! The Brussels sprouts are like candy!! I'll be back. A solid choice in austin for bbq

The food was just unbelievable. The brisket melts in your mouth and is loaded with flavor, the jalapeño cheddar sausage was the best I've ever had, and the ribs fall right off the bone and are full of flavor. Mac and cheese shouldn't be this good at all BBQ joint, but God BLESS it was incredible. The corn casserole was also just so perfect! Great sauce too, and the pickled onions had a very nice flavor!

The atmosphere of this place was rad! The first stop right after getting off the plane. Lots of cool memorabilia on the walls from Dazed and Confused and others. Tons of indoor seating. The service was quick, they wasted no time, and they were friendly! Lots of options to choose from and everything was fresh, chopped right before your eyes. I had the two meat place with brisket and jalapeño cheddar sausage. The brisket melted in my mouth and the sausage had tons of bits of cheese and jalapeño and a nice casing on it. The Mac and cheese was super creamy and the spicy glazed Brussels sprouts were actually spicy. Overall I would highly recommend this joint!

We are on a pilgrimage to the Bbq meccas of Texas. This is an expensive hobby . Stiles is no exception. Now that I got that outta the way... YUM. One of our favorites so far. The smokehouse club was awesome! Brisket and turkey sandwich. Eat this. We felt like we actually ate a substantial sandwich, very good. One of my things is to find a good pork rib. This one is pretty close. The sign says "a little sweet, a little heat", yep! Eat here.

The bbq is great and the corn casserole is amazing. I also enjoy their tomato & cucumber side salad with feta. That being said the missing star is for rushed and somewhat rude service. See how they treat you in line at Franklins, Terry Blacks, Leroy & Lewis etc. to compare. Old school service is a hallmark of Central Texas Bbq but unfortunately that is missing here. I placed a sizable order and instead of friendly line service I had three different people barking questions at me simultaneously. It was rushed, cold and unpleasant. That being said their food is good

Incredibly underrated BBQ spot in Austin. If you don't want to wait in a line but still want quality, Stiles Switch is the spot. Incredible brisket and some of the best potato salad I've ever had.

Stiles was recommended to me on my first trip to Austin for a work trip, and I wanted to explore a part of town I hadn't been to before since I was mostly hanging out in the central parts of the city, and the other BBQ places had all closed by the time I was free. The menu offers plenty of options, but it's really hard for a solo diner because it seem that most of it is limited to 1/2 lb. portions of meat. I don't eat much red meat so 8 ounces is kinda insane. I opted instead for a sandwich with thinly sliced sausage, brisket, and sliced pickled jalapeño. The sandwich was excellent and I appreciated some of the culinary details, like a modest dressing of a mayo-based tangy sauce on top, additional pickles, pickled onions, and jalapeños on the side, and a few barbecue sauces that, while completely unnecessary for taste, were a welcome alternative to the normal corn syrup stuff that you expect from a less illustrious establishment. I was unimpressed by my lone side of pinto beans, which were salty and not very interesting. I'm a bean fanatic so I take beans pretty seriously, whether I'm making them myself (I prefer smoking them on the grill with cherry, apple, or hickory, exploring a variety of flavors), and I kinda wish I had explored some other alternative-- but the insanely salty character extended also to the brisket. It almost felt inedibly salty, and I say this as someone who both loves to eat but also loves to eat salty food. Anyway, I also managed to try A Wing, which is always something I'm down for, and these wings are pretty amazing. I might have opted for just an order of wings if I had seen them on the menu but I wasn't paying attention that well and so I ended up with the sandwich (which was good, but again, maybe cut back on the salt). Staff was great. It wasn't busy when I went in the late afternoon but there was a line nearly out the door by the time I left for the dinner rush.

This is my number one pic for best barbecue in the city of Austin Texas. Out of all the 15 barbecue places I went this is a number one place I would go here over and over again. Even though I got the Cadillac beef rib and paid $65 for one beef rib. The best $65 I've ever spent in my life one of the most juiciest tender, perfectly smoked beef rib I've ever had in my life. The brisket amazing I would not get so involved into the sides. Just go here for the meat.

Austin local favorite lead by Taylor Texas native Shane Stiles and pitmasterLance Kilpatrick . They named their bbq and brew after historic 1800s and G&N railroad stop Stiles Switch Texas. Set in historic Art Deco 1950s Violet Crown center N. Lamar transcends back to old Austin eateries. The oldest shopping center in central Austin and also the film production hub for the movie " dazed and confused ". The craft brew supports local Texas breweries and offer live music during some times in year. Voted best of Atx BBQ in Austin with Austin Monthly magazine, I have to agree. Even though I am not a Texas native, I love BBQ and trying new places when travel.Their sliced brisket with amazing sliced bread and Turkey was reminiscent of the BBQ from amazing rodeos. Their bread was made for dipping in their BBQ sauce and their Hawg rub fries were perfectly cooked. Finished off some Mac & cheese and I was in " food heaven". Look forward to a return visit next time in the area.

I love Chicken Fried Steak (CFS) and I love Beef Rib. So when I saw the '12 Days of Smoked Meats' featuring a Chicken Fried Beef Rib, it was a must try! Luckily we did cos it was delicious. Moist, tender, fall off the bone beef rib coated in perfectly crispy and seasoned batter. Y-U-M-M-Y!!!! It came with a side of gravy, usually a must in any CFS plate but this gravy wasn't even needed! The RIB shone on its own!!! Understanding this was a featured dish, if you ever see it again on their specials, do not hesitate to order and rearrange your schedule accordingly to make it happen y'all!

They say three times a charm... not here. And NOT for their Cadillac of meats. I have had nothing but disappointing Beef Ribs from this place 3x. The first two were to go orders I just placed either online or with friends ordering from a BBQ place and finding out after it was SS BBQ. This time I walked in, picked what looked like a meaty beef rib and when I got it home and cut into it... it was 30% meat, 50% fat and 20% char. Coopers DT crushes this place!!! Whomever is picking the beef ribs at Styles and Switch should be put on Mac and cheese duty. Never going back.

My friend was visiting Austin after living abroad for a year and she was really craving Texas BBQ. After the disappointment that is Texas BBQ in Denmark, I knew Stiles Switch would hit the spot for her. And to no one's surprise she loved it! We ordered the brisket, original sausage, pork ribs, Mac n cheese, corn casserole, and potato salad. The corn casserole is my favorite side and I get it every time. There was so much flavor and spice on the ribs and the brisket and sausage were solid choices.

Bbq fanatic from Florida here. Went with my daughter and partner. Food was amazing. Got the brisket sandwich and the meat was just out of this world. It's order and pickup at the counter. Service staff were very pleasant. And the ambiance was just like a great, old worldly bbq place in Texas should be. I'm going back again next time I visit Austin.

I'm thrilled to find a solid bbq option good for groups (that's not Rudy's!) We came with a total of 9 adults and 4 toddlers and ordered the bigger family meal. The menu said the family meal feeds 8-10 people, so we ordered one pound of extra meat. We had plenty of left over food! The ordering experience was very fast and pleasant. I had a question about one of the sides, so they offered me a sample. The brisket was moist and probably my favorite meat. But the pork ribs, beef rib, and the original sausage were also fabulous! Juicy and not overly salty. There was a house sauce that was served in small cups for us, plus three other sauces in jars on the table. I was really happy to find they had many good side options: beans, Mac and cheese, corn casserole, seasoned fries, spicy Brussel sprouts, slaw, potato salad, and veggie salad. I appreciated how the Mac and cheese was a little smoky and not too salty. The fries were amazing and was the first one to be finished- no left over fries! The Brussel sprouts were surprisingly tasty, and the spiciness kicks in after you swallow. The corn casserole was sweet and delicious. The banana pudding and Oreo pudding were decadent. They are great for sharing - would recommend sharing one portion with 1-2 others.

What a great spot! As soon as we walked we were greeted by friendly faces! Every single person I spoke to was very helpful and most importantly very kind! Now for the ambiance, I loved it! It had a classic American look with great decor. I attached some pictures of the interior as well. The food was delicious! My entire family loved the food, it was so flavorful and the portions were GREAT. I must say the sides were delicious I really loved the corn casserole and the brussels sprouts (which was pretty spicy). They also let you sample the sides which was awesome.

Our goal is to make our way to all the best BBQ featured in Austin over the years and we finally made it to Stiles Switch BBQ. I have to say, this place did.not.dissapoint! We got here on a Friday and it was not too busy. Old school retro style on the inside which was cool decor. We got the family portion which feeds 6-8 (probably only 4-6 in this family). Very flavorful, tender, and crispy on the outside brisket. The ribs were good but probably my least favorite, it was a little sweet which was good just not quite right for me. It was surprisingly a tad spicy on the outside so if you like sweet and spicy, def give the ribs a try. The smoked chicken was deeeelicious - tender, moist and smokey. What's not to love? Someone recommended the Frito pie - again a hit there! Crunchy, salty, sweet and vinegary - just the right combo. Sides were pretty good, we got the Mac and cheese and a tomato/cucumber salad. Many BBQ places have amazing meat but mediocre sides, I appreciate how this place have good sides to go with the meat. Def top 3 for me in the area.
