Tombs and springtime blooms in Delhi’s Nizamuddin - SilverKris

"A small, closely sited secondary tomb within the larger Mughal complex that lacks inscriptions and therefore retains an air of mystery; its proximity to the principal tomb has led guides to suggest a personal association with court life, offering an intimate, evocative stop that highlights social history alongside grand funerary architecture." - Geetanjali Krishna

Barbers Tomb

A beautiful building, but in need of restoration. It is not known for sure who is buried here, some say it is Humayun's barber, which seems somewhat surprising, considering the size.

The barber tomb is located in the vicinity of Humayun’s tomb. It is well preserved, considering its age. Definitely a must visit for the history buff

The world knows the name but the person inside the grave is still unknown. The gate was close but not lock as I open the door the birds and bat entered it and the structure was completely black from inside. It is also the sign of negligence.

This is the only tomb inside the Charbagh after Humayun's, located southeast of the Humayun’s Tomb. There is no inscription to identify who is buried in it. But as per the board of Archaeological Survey of India, It's said that this tomb belongs to the barber of Humayun. The mausoleum is popularly called Nai Ka Gumbad also known as Barber's Tomb. The magnificent tomb is built using red and grey sandstone, tilted canopies, minarets, and sandstone screens give the tomb its striking character. The tomb has within it the ornamental cenotaphs of one male and one female.

The name of this tomb is Barber's tomb and not Babur's tomb. This tomb is in the Humayun's tomb complex. Not many visitor's visit this tomb. Almost all details regarding this tomb are assumptions as there is no written record pertaining to this tomb anywhere. It is believed that this tomb was built during the reign of Emperor Akbar in 1590-1591 CE for a barber of Akbar's father Humayun. Entry ticket of Humayun's tomb is enough for visiting this tomb. Towards the south-east corner, within the Char Bagh, lies a tomb known as Nai-ka-Gumbad, or Barber's Tomb, belonging to royal barber, it is datable to 1590-91 CE, through an inscription found inside. Its proximity to the main tomb and the fact that it is the only other structure within the main tomb complex suggests its importance, however, there are no inscriptions suggesting as to who is interred therein, the name Barbers tomb is the local name of the structure, hence still in use
