Must-visit brunch places to try in Sydney - SilverKris

"A handsome Paddington diner rooted in unfussy, comforting Italian fare where pasta culture spills into brunch — think spaghetti carbonara reworked for the morning with crisped bacon, pecorino and scrambled free-range eggs. The wood-panelled counter is ideal for watching the kitchen churn out Barbetta staples like the mushroom-ragu focaccia toastie and an Italo-Australian avocado on toast with basil and buffalo mozzarella; pasta-making classes run Thursday evenings and Saturday mornings." - Neha Kale

My wife and I had the pleasure of enjoying lunch at Barbetta in Paddington, and it was nothing short of a tasty wonder. Everything felt beautifully balanced — flavourful, fresh, and not heavy at all — just perfect for a relaxed midday meal. We started with the Calamari Salad, which was light, zesty, and cooked to absolute tenderness. The Salmon Super Salad followed, packed with vibrant flavours and freshness without ever feeling overwhelming. It left us satisfied but not weighed down — exactly how a great lunch should be. But the standout? The Ricotta Cake. Truly the best I have ever had. Soft, creamy, not too sweet — just perfection on a plate. I’d go back for that alone. Barbetta has officially won us over. We’ll be returning 200%.

Such a stylish and delicious Italian café in Sydney! Barbetta is one of the most beautiful cafés I’ve visited in Sydney. The interior is super chic and cozy, with a lovely retro Italian vibe that makes you want to stay longer. I ordered a coffee, a sandwich, and the crème brûlée—and everything was absolutely delicious. I was especially impressed by the crème brûlée. It’s surprisingly hard to find a really good one in Sydney, so I was so happy to finally enjoy one that was creamy, rich, and perfectly caramelised. The staff were friendly, and the atmosphere was relaxed yet refined. It’s a great spot for brunch, lunch, or even just a sweet treat and coffee. I’ll definitely be back to try more from the menu!

While working in the area we got coffees each morning. The staff were very friendly. Nice clean place and the coffees were great.

Fantastic place. Best breakfast menu I’ve seen full stop. Wonderful service. Wish we had this in Melbourne.

My fam has been trying to make it to Barbetta'for a number of years, and now that we have made the long overdue border crossing, we will continue to do so with every new holiday. Barbetta presents a Masterclass in atmosphere, service and culinary delights. HIGHLY BLOODY RECOMMENDED. Interstate visitors, we insist on you dining here. Mangiare sempre bene, pasta fresca deliciosa, buon cafe, menu tradizionale. Buon appetito!

Ambience is lovely - very comfortable clean and typical of your Paddington area. Unfortunately the food was a big disappointment for the establishment and price point. The fritters were soggy and absolutely not crispy and in fact were placed on top of watery peas so how could it ever have been fritters is beyond me. The other dishes were a little too salty.

I went here for lunch with a friend on Saturday around 12:30. The place was so busy - we got a table at the entrance, but as people kept coming in, they were queueing around our table - it was very uncomfortable. The food was good, service was nice, but the atmosphere during weekend lunchtime - not so great.

The food was amazing for the price, the flavours were unique and balanced. Really enjoyed the atmosphere and the interiors. The wine was nice and light and complimented the food very well. The service was quite selective and had to get their attention every time we needed to order, drinks, food and desert/ didn’t have water bottles on table and never came back to refill our water glasses- if this was better, it would have improved the experience overall. The service was professional and quick however. The atmosphere was great, wasn’t too loud and the table lighting helped increase the overall mood. Would love to come back here for another dinner!
