Overall, I give Barbizon high marks, but they did close early on the day I first went there. I was looking for a small light to put on a base for side lighting in small venues who don't have such theater lights, so I wanted to buy one of my own to take around with me in these cases. I contacted Barbizon via email on Dec. 27 while I was still away from NYC for Christmas holidays with family. Albert Rosado got back to me right away and sent me the technical information I needed. I had a performance January 4th, so I was in a rush to get this light. I also spoke to someone over the phone who was helpful, and he said I should just to come in after I got back to NYC, and they would have what I was looking for. So I went in on Friday at 3:45pm on December 29 because they said they would be open until 5pm, but when I got there (in the freezing cold over an hour away from home, and I had specifically gone into the city to get this light from them), it was all locked up. I called the number, but there was no way to leave a message, and I emailed Albert Rosado to complain and demand a discount for the inconvenience. He emailed right away and apologized that they closed early for the New Year's Holiday. So he said he was willing to come in (from New Jersey, I later found out) the next morning at 9am to accommodate me, so I went and met him the next day and he did indeed help me very much, and gave me big discounts on both my light and a Pelican case in which to carry it. He was very kind, and he apologized again profusely for not informing me that they would close early. My advice is to call them before you go there just to make sure they will be there - I've heard that they are a bit pricier than other sources, but in a pinch, they had everything I needed and he spent a good hour with me explaining how to work the light on my own. Good luck!
