Don't come here for peach ice cream. I'm not sure how they did it but their peach ice cream tastes like bananas. 🍌 Yuck! 🤮 This was convenient but I should have made the trip to Dickies. Dickies has the best! I got a couple turtles and they weren't very good either. I don't plan on going back. Not worth it.

Google
This place has "legit" boiled peanuts here! Friendly staff with all the expected southern hospitality. Will definitely revisit this country store again.

Me and my family went there today and the experience was great...we love the selection they have and the ice cream was great...can't wait to come back the next time we in town

Walking in, a very warm and soothing scent hits your nose. A cheerful greeting, and very kind faces as soon as you enter. The smell of fresh cobbler and pralines wafts and ushers you in. Inside, a variety of choices of hot sauces, salsas, and pecans every which way. Not to mention the handmade turtles and other delights. We opted for the vidalia onion hot sauce, and got some peanut butter pralines as gifts. The ice cream (we got try a bit) was super delicious! We decided on the cobbler mix, which was hot fresh and hit the spot. The owners are very kind and welcoming. We will be back again and again whenever we’re in the area. Thank you for your kindness and hospitality!

Google
FIVE STARS ***** Barbour Farms was absolutely everything we could have imagined a small peach store in GA would be. The staff was full of southern hospitality as well as hilarious. The gentleman working there played his harmonica and sang a cute little song for us while we shopped. They offered free ice cream samples for our family and the kids and I Agreed ABSOLUTELY AMAZING fresh made ice cream. Strawberry-peach was one of the most delicious ice creams I’ve ever tasted. We left with pecans, okra chips and bag of peaches. One happy family on the trip back north. We will be back our next trip south!!!!

Great stop off the interstate. Wonderful people. My mom had the peach cobbler w ice cream and she loved it! Store smells wonderful and that cobbler was worth the stop. You can also get jams and fresh peaches.

Coming down 75 today...I saw a sign that said "PEACH COBBLER!" and although I was running late for an appointment I got off the exit to find this PEACH COBBLER in Byron, GA. Walked in like "ooh" "aah"... then noticed 2 employees... younger woman, older man... neither said a peep! No hey how you doing or a simple greeting. This is NOT SOUTHERN HOSPITALITY!! I almost turned around but I'm from da South and my mouth was watering for some peach cobbler. Walked around the store still zero acknowledgement. Another couple walked in SAME treatment! I went to register to ask about the cobbler. That's when the young lady answered questions. Anyway, based on their level of ZERO customer service I STILL bought this "cobbler". It's utterly disgusting!! There's no way anybody is thinking this blob of uncooked dough and dry ass peaches with not a hint of cinnamon, nutmeg, or vanilla is good! Save your money 💰 times are too hard for employees to have poor customer service and an even worse product to boot! Stopped by this place on our 8hr drive home and it did not disappoint! The peach soft serve was awesome! The family loved all the homemade sweets, boiled peanuts and fresh peaches. Only complaint, we should have bought more stuff!

Yelp
For the past three months, my mother and I have been looking for a country store to purchase delicious-tasting blackberry cobbler. We decided to try Barbour Farms Country Store, located in Byron, GA. We are happy we chose the blackberry cobbler; it is very delicious, cooked, and prepared just right. The service provided by the staff at Barbour Farms is excellent. They are very nice and helpful with questions. The ambiance is country, nice, and friendly. Parking is available in the front, side, and back of the building, accommodating motorhomes and trailers.

Yelp
Stopped here on a rainy Sunday while en route to Florida. I wanted to surprise my mom with some fresh peaches. She had been recently telling me how all the grocery store peaches were hard & flavorless. Barbour Farms store delivered the ultimate peaches! My mom was beyond thrilled with how flavorful & juicy these peaches were. Perfection! I also bought a few sour plums to try. I was worried they'd be too sour for me but I found them to be delightful. Wish I'd bought more. The store had such lovely and unique items, I'd love to try everything!

Clarence F.

Yelp
It was my second time here buying fruit, grapes, and the black cobbler blackberry cobbler was excellent with just the right amount of fruit and cobbler plus the southern ambience and charm was on queue.

Yelp
I had the most delicious cobbler at this place! It was love at first bite. The perfect harmony of creaminess and sweetness danced on my taste buds, leaving me in awe. What really made our experience stand out though was Vince, the owner. He went above and beyond to ensure we felt welcome and attended to. Even offering to carry all of our bags to our car! When you happen to be at Byron GA or just passing by please stop by!.

Rose P.

Yelp
Greeted with free sample of warm cobbler and peach ice cream. Delicious! Clean and well stocked. Will be adding to our list of stops when on the road again.

Yelp
Didn't have a lot of variety in terms of ice cream flavors or quantity either. The syrups looked good though

Elizabeth B.

Yelp
We always love stopping at the Barbour Farms Store. Everything is so fresh, clean and delicious! They are always very pleasant and helpful. The peach ice cream is so refreshing especially on a hot day. It is always a pleasure to browse the gifts also. The printed dog breed dishtowels have made very nice quality gifts for family. If you need an enjoyable stop, we highly recommend that you pay them a visit.

Yelp
What an adorable little shop. We were driving back to augusta and I wanted to try a good local peach. We saw the billboard for this place and stopped in. The workers were so welcoming and even taught me how to eat a boiled peanut. which btw wasn't my cup of of tea but still good. (texture). We also got their peach cobbler, peach cider, and strawberry cider. We ate a peach on the way home and they were so sweet! The peach cider was devine. It was like eating a fresh peach on a hot summer day sitting on your porch. If i lived in the area, I'd definitely be using this place to buy my local produce. What a cute little find.

Yelp
Seen this building most of my adult life having played Peach County a lot of years in multiple sports an finally stopped by to get the boy some ice cream. Store packs a big punch of goods from magnets to jams and everything in between. The peach ice cream was amazing and it was nice to sit in a rocking chair out front and just slow down to take it all in and enjoy.

Yelp
Quaint little spot. Easy to find. Small but neatly organized. I came to try out the peach cobbler and peach ice cream. They have handmade candies, pecans, fresh peaches, muscadines, fresh boiled peanuts, pralines, and more. The peach ice cream was soft served. Refreshing! The peach cobbler was good but too much breading for my liking. Overall, I'd recommend

Yelp
My husband and I pulled off the highway to get a bite to eat and we saw this place advertising peaches, so we decided to get some peaches before we continued our journey home to Florida. This place had plenty of peaches and other assorted goodies to choose from. The people were very nice and we were in and out quickly with our peaches and some pecans. I'm looking forward to these Georgia treats when we get home!

Sydney M.

Yelp
Great place to stop to get fresh fruits and vegetables. Staff is very nice and store was clean.

Jan P.

Yelp
Got there just at closing time and they kindly let us in and served us anyway. Enjoyed the ice cream and the friendliness of the staff.

Yelp
I stopped by this store while on the road. The owner was really friendly and offered us some food samples while we were browsing the store! There's a variety of nuts, chocolate treats, jams/jellies, and other non-food gifts available for purchase. Both the blackberry cobbler and the peach cobbler are delicious, and I loved both the peach and strawberry flavors of ice cream. There are 2 sizes for the cobbler/ice cream - small and large (I got the small, which was perfect for a treat just for me!). If I'm ever passing through the area again, I'll definitely get the cobbler and ice cream again!

Yelp
The owner shared knowledge of items with us! They have the best peach cobbler I have ever tasted! This place is a hidden gem, we were lucky to stop by on our way to Florida- right next to the highway xoxo the owner was very pleasant!

David M.

Yelp
The owners/staff are some of the best people I have met in my whole life. Our baby spat up all over my wife's dress and wanted to buy at-shirt to change into. The owner gave us the t-shirt, this was extremely generous. On coming in they immediately gave the kids samples of peach ice cream, which was very nice of them. Me and the kids ordered some more peach ice cream. My wife had peach cobbler with peach ice cream on top. We sat in the rocking chairs out front to eat our ice cream. The owner came out and played on his harmonica for us and sang a little! Everything was excellent! I even went back inside to get some blackberry cobbler to take for my Momma, which she said was excellent! Overall, they have won a customer for life!

Yelp
The Best ice cream ever. Super fresh and the friendliest folks run it. Great store , fresh produce and all kinds of fun stuff.
google avatar

Yelp
A lovely, country farm stand right off the freeway. The produce was fresh and the ice cream was delicious! We had the peach and the strawberry ice cream and sat out front in the rocking chairs to eat it. They have hot boiled peanuts and fried peanuts and delicious peaches. The owners and employees were very friendly. Worth the stop!
google avatar

Melissa F.

Yelp
We stopped here; they were the recommendation when we asked where we should stop for great peaches if we don't have time to pick ourselves. The ladies were lovely, the ice cream is delicious, and we are looking forward to the peach salsa, peach butter and wonderful smelling peaches we took with us. May go back on our trip home!

Nathaly M.

Yelp
If you ever find yourself in Byron, outside of Macon, this is a must stop! Delicious peach ice cream ! Local. Pecans and more!
google avatar

Barbara R.

Yelp
Everything has always been great. I bought some pecan brittle and it was so hard. I took it back and thought I could swap it out for other pecan candies. Nope. Right now I can not say I will be going back.

Yelp
I am certain to travel back to the Barbour Farm country store for the homemade peach ice cream & southern hospitality!

Yelp
Definitely a hidden gem! The workers that helped us were so nice and extremely helpful. They have a huge selection of jams and candies, you can easily find something to try and buy. The homemade peach and strawberry ice cream was delicious and everything was fairly priced. I'll definitely be back the next time I'm driving through Georgia!

Yelp
Pretty sure this is the first negative review I've left, but don't want others to go out of their way and make the same mistake I did. More below, but what was **really** disappointing for me was the peach ice cream. I literally could not taste peaches in the soft serve ice cream at all. Two others in my family tasted it too and said the same thing. It didn't taste awful and did have some bits of what appeared to be peaches in it - but there was just a sweet custard taste and no peach flavor. Very odd. Keep in mind that I love all things peach. (Peaches, peach pie, peach cobbler, peach honey, etc.) Tried to exchange it for a cup of strawberry (the other flavor they offer), but the guy said no- so I ended up throwing away my $5.25 cup of ice cream in the trash at the gas station next door. Maybe they didn't put as much in since peaches are currently out of season? Prices are more than double what previous reviewers have stated. For example, package of dried okra is now $11.95- and is not $5, like a previous reviewer stated. They had a large variety of jars of exotic flavors of pickles from different manufacturers at $7.95 and up for a small jar, 5oz of chocolate covered pecans for $12.99, etc. I had high hopes for the overpriced ice cream, but it ended up in the trash and I ended up wasting my money.

Yelp
Definitely a hidden gem! The peach candy is delicious and there's a gentlemen behind the counter that can play the harmonica like you wouldn't believe.

Yelp
I love this store. The people who runs it are so nice. I'm one of those people who love tomato sandwiches. Their tomatoes are so sweet. You've got to try one. Then if you're a praline nut like me, try theirs, they are the bomb too.
google avatar

Yelp
Byron, GA: What a cute little store on route to Atlanta. While peaches aren't in season (noooo!), we were able to grab some soft serve peach ice cream. Good quantity, good taste, and good price. I can't speak to any other goodies in the store because we didn't grab any but there were some unique, interesting yummies, okra chips and peach cider among some. Nice little stop along the highway.
google avatar

Pam C.

Yelp
Found this place by stopping at exit for gas. Bought 5 huge beautiful tomatoes. Bought Ga peaches an jelly plus pear preserves to take home. They have a good selection of Barbour brands. I did not have a cooler or I would have bought sausage.good An friendly service. They had green tomatoes too.

Breanne A.

Yelp
Wonderful country store with an amazing selection of ciders, jams, jellies, candies, homemade ice cream, and more. Staff is friendly, funny, and helpful. If you like quality treats stopping in is a must!

Mike R.

Yelp
Made a special trip to get some homemade peach ice cream yesterday for my family to enjoy for the 4th and NOT one employee was wearing a mask! They were serving food without any type of protection for their customers. We ended up leaving disgusted and disappointed.

Yelp
We stopped at Barbour Farms on our last trip through Byron and I have to say, I was extremely impressed. Other Yelpers have mentioned that the prices are high, and that's true if you're comparing this food to the food you'd pick up at Kroger or Publix. These are mostly organic, homemade and hard to find items and, when taking that into consideration, I found the prices more than reasonable. But when compared to Lane's, the prices are bargain-barn cheap. That's certainly something to consider. For example, I paid roughly $5.50 for a large container of dried and salted okra. It was fabulous--better than fried okra and infinitely healthier. They also offered local honey with the comb intact for roughly the same price that you'd find it at a grocery store. I bought half of a yellow watermelon for $2.50 and a huge quarter of a watermelon (more than enough for my family of four) for $1.99. They also offer a variety of interesting nuts (fried peanuts in the shell, anyone?) and a big novel candy selection for the kids that's also priced very comparably. I picked up two delicious pecan logs for $1.49 that would have cost me over $6.00 at Lane's. Much of their selection is composed of homemade jams, salsas and preserves you won't find anywhere else, such as scuppernong preserves, tomatillo and avocado salsa, spiced peaches, etc. (Watch out for that tomatillo salsa. It's good, but its got habaneros hidden in there somewhere and has one heck of a kick). Another benefit is that, before you spend your money on an item, you can always ask to taste it first. The owners keep opened jars of just about everything in the back and will be more than willing to give you a free taste of their jellies, jams, peach ice cream, salsa or dried veggies. I found the prices for green tomatoes were actually better than those at my local Kroger, and the ones at Kroger aren't organic. When I went, both owners were there and they were as polite and professional as two people can be. I was more than happy to give them my business and I will so again.
google avatar

Andrea L.

Yelp
I've been here twice and I've enjoyed the Southern Hospitality every time I go there, however there is one little problem...the prices are quite high. Alhough pricey, the produce and treats are delicious. I've had their candied pecans and their peach cider and they were delicious. They also make their own peach ice cream which I have yet to try but it looks promising!
google avatar

Dana M.

Yelp
Excellent store with super friendly people. Stopped to get fresh Georgia peaches and left with so much more. Jams, Jellies, preserves, syrups, pecans, and great ice cream.

Jennifer R.

Yelp
First the entrance was blocked by a truck owned by employees. We had to drive behind the building up on the dirt/gravel to get to it. Then when we tried to sit outside in the rocking chairs the two young employees were smoking within three feet of us. I asked them if the were smoking; hoping they're offer to put it out or walk to the back. But they just said "yes, they're Black and Milds." We won't be back. I know this is close to the interstate but it's not worth the stop. Dickey Farms is only 20 miles off the interstate in Musella. We'll go there or any of places like Pearsons or Greggs. There are too many choices to leave smelling like cheap cigar.

Lauren J.

Yelp
Found this place while traveling, definitely a win! I got some Georgia peaches, peach syrup, a Visalia onion cucumber dressing, and of course peach ice cream, which was homemade with their own recipe and was absolutely delicious!

Kameron O.

Yelp
What a gem of a find! Jam, jelly, nuts, veggies, pralines, chocolates, ice cream, homemade soap, cheese straws, just so much wonderful stuff I can't even tell you. It's a small, family-owned business with rocking chairs on the front where you can sit and enjoy your peach ice cream. I live nearby and visit frequently and have never been disappointed. You won't be either.
google avatar

Paul C.

Yelp
Stopped in to check out this country store since the sign outside said fresh Georgia peaches. We ended up getting a half peck of peaches. They also had several different types of pecans. So chose the regular, key lime and chocolate covered. I couldn't pass up trying the dill cucumbers so I chose a jar. Renee grabbed a bottle of apple cider even though there were several different flavors to choo5 from. Best thing was they give a military discount and thank you for your service. High tech also as they readily accept credit cards with chips, PayPal and cash.

Yelp
We were looking for a clean/safe restroom to stop for a break on our weekend trip from Jacksonville to Atlanta....we stopped at Barbour Farms Country Store and WOW!! It met our needs in the restroom dept AND as a treat FRESH HOMEMADE Peach & Strawberry Ice Cream....as well as other delicious goodies,I picked up some Jam, Cold Pressed Sunflower Oil, Local Honey and Cider....we are planning to stop on the way home as well. This is one of those Little Gems you find traveling that SHOULD NOT be passed up!

Ginger A.

Yelp
We stopped for gas and spotted this gem. There were so many food items to choose from including lots of various jellies etc. Also, has a wonderful Peach ice cream. I have not forgot this place and I looking forward to returning. The married couple who worked there couldn't have been any nicer!!!!
google avatar

Lawana M.

Yelp
I passed this little store many times the last few months, and this time I stopped. Absolutely the best homemade peach ice cream and pecan candy!! ALso, purchased locally made goat milk soap, which is wonderful. Enjoyed my visit, stopped by on my way home and took home peach ice cream for Hubby. Love YOU Guys!!
google avatar

Mary J.

Yelp
Back in early Spring of this year, I took a country drive further out to south Georgia and had the absolute BEST authentic peach ice cream here. This little candy/general store is like something out of a dream sequence in a good movie. Talk about excellence in warmth and customer service! You can sit and enjoy your tasty treats in rocking chairs on the front porch and just decompress. My endorphin levels surely skyrocketed from spending time at this lovely little place. If you ever find yourself in Fort Valley, GA, stop at Barbour Farms. You won't regret it.

Nox C.

Yelp
Worth a stop for the ciders and some soft serve homemade ice cream, as well as the kind hospitality. The preserves and jams are pretty similar to what you'll find at any well-equipped farm stand, but this nevertheless sets them above the standard highway tourist trap. Not a cheesy chocolate-covered coconut patty in sight, a huge plus.
