The Halibut was delicious, and though I normally prefer baked fish to fried, the Halibut was still quite good in a fish and chips style. The fries weren't too good, being much too thick for my taste. However the star of this meal was definitely the fish, so I didn't find the lackluster fries to be too much of a disappointment.
The side slaw was alright, considering that I don't enjoy that much mayonnaise in my food. I probably would have enjoyed a vinaigrette more, but what kind of fish and chips place serves that kind of slaw right? The tartar sauce was good with the fish, nothing extraordinary about it, but I do love my condiments so I was pleased by its presence.
I ordered the two piece dinner and split it with my mom- we both had one of the fish pieces each, and found it quite filling. I also had a few croissants prior to coming here, so I was stuffed afterwards, but I assume that a person who only ate here for dinner might need the two pieces for themselves.
My brother got a burger, which I consider a shame since it came with beef and this place is obviously a fish shack. Ah well he's thirteen, he's allowed to make bad food decisions.
