Stayed 4 nights for 3 people in a Suite with views over the river. Twin beds and a double sofa bed separated by sliding doors either side of the spacious bathroom.|Fridge contained 3 small complementary bottles of water and there was a coffee machine in the room.|Rooms well equipped with towelling robes, slippers, clothes steamer and free safe. Toiletries provided were shampoo/shower gel, conditioner, toothbrush, toothpaste, tissues, shaving kit, cotton facepads and cotton buds.|The only issues were the free WiFi required a personal email to register but said it was unsecured so we didn't risk it. The WiFi signal for the TV was also poor. As other reviewers have said, the shower kept changing from cool to warm no matter what setting was used but wasn't a great problem for me.||The ground floor reception, bar and restaurant were very smart and there was a lovely fragrance as you entered the hotel.|Really enjoyed the breakfast buffet with plenty of options (cereals, yogurts, breads, pastries, fruit, cold meats, cheeses cooked breakfast, tea, coffee and juices). However we thought the bar/room service and restaurant menues were too pricey so ate out for lunch and dinner.||Location was good - close to the footbridge which lights up at night and most places in the city were about a 20min walk away.|We ate at Topolinos Italian close to the hotel, Starbucks in the centre, and a Chinese restaurant across the road from the Guggenheim museum and enjoyed the Helados (ice creams) near the river. Great shops on Gran Via de Don Diego Lopez de Haro (Bershka, Zara, Pull & Bear, Stradivarius) and budget friendly ones in the Zubiarte shopping centre.||Guggenheim museum is a must see (under 18s free, adults €12). We went on the bus to the coast (only €10.50 for 3 of us each way for 1hr 40min journey) to Gaztelugatxe - the location used for Dragonstone (Game of Thrones) - free to enter but you must book tickets in advance online (unsuitable for anyone with mobility issues). Beautiful green scenery and smart villages en route between Bilbao and Gaztelu Begi.||Top tips:|Get green Bizkai Airport bus to/from Bilbao centre (every 15mins) for approx €3.50 per adult/teenager which only takes about 12mins. However, with all buses from the centre (and ftom Gaztelugatxe) get there 10mins in advance as if you're not in the queue the drivers will usually set off before the scheduled time.|Learn some Spanish before you go (I have been learning on Duolingo for 2yrs) or use Google translate app as many shops/restaurants/bus drivers speak little English so really make some effort to try.
