Barceló Guatemala City

Wonderful stay! I arrived early and they let me check into my room after long travel day! Breakfast was amazing with many options! Hotel was very clean and staff friendly. Airport shuttle was very helpful. Lots of restaurants within 2 blocks of hotel and in safe part of town! 10/10 recommend if traveling from US; staff was bilingual.

Great location, very close to the airport. We booked a private shuttle through the hotel to take us from the airport to the hotel. We stayed in the deluxe suite and had a nice city view. The pool and hot tub were great. We had a drink at one of the many restaurants at the hotel. We had a free breakfast the next morning. Customer service was very nice throughout our stay.

I love the Barcelo! The airport shuttle met me at the exit! The check in process was smooth, no waiting. The room had all the amenities I needed, the WiFi was excellent. The bed was comfy and had great linen. I chose the balcony room and the balcony gave me great view and allowed a lovely breeze. The staff were always helpful and professional. I have stayed at the Barcelo many times over the past ten years. Excellent location and close to airport and zone 10 The room needs some updating, and the a/c is a tad loud, but grea5 value..especially if you book well in advance.

Stayed at this hotel, breakfast in the buffet was great. The dinner is okay. Hotel is maintained very well. Would be nice if they had all inclusive package for the bars as well. I went to ask for the pool table key and had one person tell me it was free and then I show up and they tell me $50 dollars when online it also says it’s free. Just hope they can make it more clear as I think $50 to play pool for an hour is absolutely crazy. Overall good experience.

We joined a Guatemala tour and it started at Barcelo. The hotel, room and breakfast restaurant are decent, although you can tell the hotel is not at its prime and needs some updating. ||The room is clean and well maintained. There is enough amenities, coffee, tea and bottled water provided. No complaint at all. ||We enjoyed the buffet breakfast. There are lots of food items to choose from: salad, omelets, meat dishes, fruit, etc. ||There is a supermarket LA just a few minutes walk away from the hotel. There is also a huge Oakland Mall about 20 minutes away. In between there are lots of restaurants, cafe, shops and a Dollar City next to the Oakland Mall. ||We always like Barcelo and we went to a few in different countries. This one is on a weaker end among the others.

I stayed at Barceló Guatemala for a full week and had a wonderful experience from start to finish. The hotel offers a calm, welcoming atmosphere that perfectly blends comfort, professionalism, and genuine hospitality. The rooms are spacious, extremely clean, and very well soundproofed, which allowed for restful sleep and focused work. Housekeeping maintained an impeccable standard every day, and everything felt fresh and well-cared-for. On one occasion, I needed medical assistance, and it was immediately arranged and delivered to my room, which left me very impressed by the hotel’s care for its guests. Every morning I enjoyed working out at the modern gym, and when time allowed, I joined the group fitness classes offered throughout the week—yoga, functional training, cycling, and more. The trainers were professional, motivating, and friendly. The large heated outdoor pool and jacuzzi under the open sky were an absolute delight. The SPA and sauna complex is also highly recommended for relaxation after a busy day. The food at the hotel was delicious, high-quality, and diverse. On my final day, I was pleasantly surprised with an invitation to a special dinner, which made my stay even more memorable. What truly stood out was the attentiveness and friendliness of the entire staff. Everyone was kind, helpful, and professional – just amazing! Their attitude made the difference.

The hotel feels outdated. If you're lucky, you'll get a room where everything works properly (though not necessarily modern); otherwise, you may encounter issues such as a wet bathroom floor, weak toilet flush, and an old A/C unit. Additionally, the front desk did not properly log my room assignment—someone else entered my room, stating it had been assigned to her. I did not rest well during my stay.||While the lobby and surrounding areas present a better impression, and the on-site restaurants are a solid option if you're in the city, the rooms themselves do not meet the same standard. Overall, I would not stay here again.

It's a good hotel, really close to the airport. They have a service where they actually send someone to pick you up and take you back to the hotel Lots of ice dispensers And they pump a certain air freshener that can sometimes be too much, but it's a nice smell if You've been around bad smells, but if you stay in the good smell too long it will start to be too much They have a cool store And it's right next to a McDonald's REALLY NICE/BIG POOL + HOT TUB
