We stayed three nights at Barcelo Oviedo Cervantes. The hotel is beautiful with clean rooms; the beds and pillows were comfortable; the service was outstanding. The front desk staff were super friendly and happy to answer any questions, assist with obtaining taxis as needed (for example, to the airport), provided a city map with directions, and offered food recommendations. The hotel is also in a great location that is very walkable to areas of interest.

Nice hotel. Good location. Service was friendly. Parking lot is tight but manageable. Rooms were clean but the bathroom needs an update. Recommend it. Would come back.

This hotel is falsely advertised as a 5 star experience. If you’re looking for a solid 3 star hotel with decent rooms and acceptable service, then this is your spot. We came here for our honeymoon looking for luxury, and this place is FAR from it. The moment we walked in, we were met with a receptionist who was very unkind. A 20% discount code was incorrectly applied to my reservation by my credit card and he INSISTED angrily that we have to pay the difference. This was with knowing that we were on our honeymoon. I did ultimately pay the difference. A 5 star hotel would’ve AT LEAST offered a congratulations. He said nothing, didn’t apologize for the error, didn’t offer a glass of champagne or anything of that nature. It was a very inappropriate way to speak to any couple, especially one who is on a honeymoon. The rooms are NOT 5 star quality. They are basically DIY-ed. There are giant paint chips from floor to ceiling. There are scuff marks on other walls. The caulking in the bathroom is messy. The grouting and tiling is awful. Being in the hotel room made us SHOCKED that this was 5 stars. Throughout most of the day (and parts of the night) there was an extremely loud noise (HVAC? Plumbing?) that literally shook the entire room every 10 minutes or so. We disliked it so much, we couldn’t wait to leave. It truly dampened what should’ve been an amazing time for us. The parking they state on their instagram as “stylish.” No. It’s a regular underground lot that’s extremely narrow and requires a passenger to step out of the car and help navigate what should be a one way passageway. The service is useless. I e-mailed ahead asking for the hotel to make us a reservation at a restaurant in a specific area of Oviedo. They did not. They simply sent me a list of recommended places with corresponding phone numbers and left me to my own devices. Sure, it has a nice lobby and facade. But that’s all. The location is just okay. The service is not okay. The room is serviceable at best but can’t be slept in or relaxed in because of noise. I do not recommend this hotel. It is absolutely falsely advertised and a huge disappointment. We spent 2 weeks in Asturias and Basque Country in 5 star hotels and this was by far the worst.

Not in the historic area of Oviedo, but only about a 5-10 minute walk to get there. Hotel staff were very friendly and helpful. Big room, good AC, and fantastic shower. Probably our favorite hotel on our trip.

Stayed for two nights, 9th-11th may. Everything was good. Breakfast was ok,and staff members do greeted you.|The hotel is in a good location, with only 10 minutes walk to most attractions. |The only letdown for me was, after coming back after a day of sightseeing, the TV was not a smart TV. Couldn't watch anything as all the channels were in spainish.| Barcelo needs to up their game by providing smart TV for guests. I was in room 410. No Netflix, no you tube.||

We were hiking the Camino de Santiago and wanted somewhere nice to stay in Oviedo for 1 night. The staff at the hotel were very good, the rooms were clean and comfortable with good quality bedding and the breakfast was excellent. It is a good, pleasant & comfortable hotel but I am not sure it is worth the B&B rate of Euros 211 per night for a double room. The hotel is about a 10 minute walk to the city centre but that was fine for us. We were not that keen on Oviedo city centre.

If you are coming to Oviedo, this is the place to stay. In a super cool building combining old world charm with modern amenities, the rooms are spacious and comfortable and the breakfast buffet plentiful and tasty. There is so much to see and do in Oviedo. Do not miss an opportunity to visit. The parks, the old town, the friendly people, the many cool statues, the traditional marching bagpipe band on weekends, the city orchestra at the gazebo in San Francisco park on Sundays, and taking in a soccer game at the Real Oviedo stadium all make for an authentic local and unforgettable experience.

My husband and I just completed a 3 week stay at the Barcelo Cervantes while considering a move to Oviedo. We could not have been more impressed with the staff experience there. Across the board, every staff member was professional, engaging and customer minded. When our travel plans changed at the last minute, Oliver and Alberto found a way for us to arrive a week earlier than planned, despite high capacity at the hotel. Angel and the rest of the reception team continued to provide visit information and a friendly wave as we were in and during the day. The bar and restaurant staff were unfailingly fun and patient with our limited Spanish. The hotel itself is a lovely building in a clean, safe town, and located for easy walking to Parque San Francisco, events, restaurants, public transportation and shopping. Our only disappointment was a call to Barcelo Corporate customer service, when their representative was unable to honor Barcelo’s “low price guarantee”, but this was not reflective of our guest experience. We will return.

Yelp
Nice hotel in a great area in Oviedo, not far from the park or cathedral. Safe feel, excellent service, remodeled room, great breakfast buffet, and good food at the restaurant. As with most places here, dinner opens late. If you're used to eating before 9pm, I suggest finding a Sidreria nearby for a drink and small snack.
