Barceló Santo Domingo

This hotel had proper customer service. In the restaurant the servers are pleasant. Elizabeth seem very focused and service oriented. But this did not take away from her pleasant and professional smile she would give. I spent nearly 4 weeks and I think she must be complimented. And not just her pleasantries but her her uniform dress looks really presentable. I wish her the best in her journey of life.

The check in went very smoothly, the room was decent and clean.The only negative was the staff by the pool bar, they weren't too attentive, we waited forever to have our order taken, no one approached us to see if we need anything, so we decided to go to the restaurant instead. After lunch, we decided to give it another try, to my surprise, the server Jennifer Jiménez approached us and asked if we needed anything. She took our order and told us she will bring it to us by the pool which she did. The others servers just standing around looking at the sunbathers and chatting among themselves . Jennifer did an excellent job, she came over numerous times bring us our drinks and checking up on us. She truly made our pool experience enjoyable.

Sarah Rojas and Ninoska Gomez were the best servers I’ve had in DR !! They were professional and on top of everything and this is the second time they serve us. We are from Miami Florida and love coming here! Very attentive and good is great and they have a hibachi with fresh food and even though I’m Vegan they had chickpea soup and a huge salad bar.

Despite its "Traveller's Choice 2025" award and seemingly good reviews, my recent stay at this hotel was a mixed bag. The check-in process was frustratingly slow, with the staff member appearing confused and taking an excessive amount of time. While the junior suite was spacious and well-equipped with a balcony and PC, its location facing the main avenue meant significant noise from passing vehicles, leading to a poor night's sleep. On the bright side, the breakfast was good and extensive, and the staff greeting us at the gate were very courteous.

I had the premium floor and it was great. Staff was nice up there. I asked to ad another guest and they wanted over $50 for my 2 nights. Very expensive. At night I wanted to have visitors to pick up a gift and was told by a very young man at reception that I had to pay extra as if the guests was staying over! I was really upset with this. Finally one guest was allowed but this hotel needs to improve on customer service. I don't think I'm returning to this hotel because of the way I was treated. There was also a security guard at the entrance who was very nice other than that I wouldn't return.

I absolutely loved my stay at the Barcelo hotel, I didn't know I booked the premium this was a great surprise. I visited from Jamaica took my mom on her first trip & it was awesome! Everybody was so nice & friendly

It’s a really good hotel. It’s conveniently located near to a metro station while being centered so you can enjoy the best of the district. Rooms are a bit old and it took us to open the windows to remove the humidity from the room, but it was decent.

Santa Torres is an outstanding cook and server. She was able to walk me through everything that was available and cook it within an instant. She is fabulous
