A definite trip highlight in Barcelona!!! Highly recommend, lovely chef Sonja helped us make a wonderful authentic Spanish meal. We drank delicious wine from the region and had lovely conversation with other guests. I purchased a recipe book & jar of saffron which made a wonderful souvenir. A beautiful evening ♥️

Has such a fun time learning to cook with Juan! We cooked everything from appetizer to dessert and have some great lessons to take home with us (and recipes). Great evening activity in Barcelona.

This class was a highlight of our trip. The teacher, Sonia, was fantastic and very knowledgeable. All of the food was delicious and although we were familiar with the dishes from our previous travels to Spain, we still learned so much. My 10 yr old son already asked to book another class before we leave.

Candido hosted on Friday and we all had a fantastic time. He is a trained chef, knowledgeable and deeply passionate about local, high-quality ingredients and of course knows the purveyors at La Boqueria very well. Nothing about the tour felt like you were being run through a standard formula, even if the dishes themselves are the same or similar to prior groups. He eagerly answered questions and made sure everyone contributed to the cooking effort. Wine was served during prep time and mealtime! Overall a wonderful way to spend 4 hours in Barca.

Juan was fantastic! We booked our family of five and ended up having the class all to ourselves. Our younger boys were a little cranky and sleepy at the beginning, but our chef guide Juan engaged them and turned them into eager and helpful mini chefs. The market tour at the beginning was excellent. We sampled Jamon Iberico and took in the sights and smells all around. Those markets can be a little overwhelming and chaotic, so it was good to get the rundown of what is good and what is important to look for when it comes to produce or seafood. Back at the kitchen, it was very well-appointed, clean, and modern. The big windows were wide open on a beautiful April day, and the air felt nice. The street below was already busy, and the kitchen felt like a nice respite above it all. The meal we made (squash and pear soup, omelette or “tortilla,” tomato bread, seafood paella, and Catalan cream or crème brûlée) was fantastic. We all learned at least one or two things we can use in the future when we cook not just those items but really anything. I am definitely going to be full for the rest of the day. So good! “Can I make that as soon as we get home?” asked our 9-year-old about the potato/onion tortilla as we left. I told him sure, and I can help with sous chef preparation. He said no, he wants to do it all on his own. The family wine was very good and accompanied the meal nicely. We appreciated all the flavors and colors and scents and textures of the meal all throughout. Everything flowed together nicely. We even learned some pointers on plating an otherwise tame squash soup with some bleu cheese, edible flowers, and sugared hazelnuts for maximum wow factor. The location is really cool as well. We had a nice stroll up La Rambla and through the Gothic Quarter after class. Such an interesting part of the world. So much history on those streets and between those walls. I highly recommend taking this class with your family or another group or even just yourself. A great way to learn about and enjoy an important part of Barcelona.

Our family had a great time at Barcelona Cooking school! The recipes were delicious and easy to follow, and we have already made some of them at home. The class was very enjoyable and our Chef was lovely and helped us all get to know each other and interact. I would recommend this experience to anyone in Barcelona. As a family with a younger kid, this experience also helped introduce him to new foods that he then ate out and about on our travels.
