Google
"Juan-tastic" experience with Barcelona Cooking. My wife and I took a paella cooking class with Chef Juan at Barcelona Cooking. He is a “Juan-derful” person, professional chef, excellent humor, and a phenomenal instructor. All of the ingredients for our meal were fresh and laid out in front of the stations we cooked. We made a gorgeous butternut squash soup, Spanish tortilla, tomato & olive oil bread, chicken paella, and crema de Catalan! Everything was amazing, including the music, and white & red wine that flowed unlimited. The best meal we've ever had in our lives (and my wife is a professional baker). The night was very special and Juan was fantastic, a new lifelong friend. A night and meal we will never forget. We highly recommend Barcelona Cooking for anyone looking for a memorable evening in Barcelona. It was a great way to experience the culture of this city. We will do this again on our next visit to Barcelona.

Google
A definite trip highlight in Barcelona!!! Highly recommend, lovely chef Sonja helped us make a wonderful authentic Spanish meal. We drank delicious wine from the region and had lovely conversation with other guests. I purchased a recipe book & jar of saffron which made a wonderful souvenir. A beautiful evening ♥️

Google
Has such a fun time learning to cook with Juan! We cooked everything from appetizer to dessert and have some great lessons to take home with us (and recipes). Great evening activity in Barcelona.

Google
This was an amazing class! Sonia was a great and informative instructor. Highly recommend to take this class if you’re visiting Barcelona. We made Paella’s, Gazpacho, tortilla de patatas, con pan tomata and crema Catalan !!!

We were here 10 years ago and came back with friends we were traveling with. Such a fun time! Our cooking class instructor, Johannes was awesome! We started out with a tour of La Boqueria where we bought the chicken for our paella, sampled some jamon and some torrons. Upon returning to the school we made gazpacho, pan con tomate, tortilla Española, chicken paella and crema Catalan all paired with some delicious Spanish wines. We were a large group of 12 but Johannes did an excellent job ensuring everyone had a turn at cooking our meal. We highly recommend Barcelona Cooking for a delightful culinary experience!

Google
It’s an incredible experience. We spent time with Juan, a wonderful person who, besides teaching us how to cook an amazing paella, shared a very joyful and happy moment with us through his spontaneous and slightly crazy way of being.

My birthday in Barcelona was spent in the kitchen with Juan and our ‘family’ From the trip to the local market, where we met with local vendors, to the preparation, cooking and finally eating our meal, our day was filled with laughter, fun and incredible tastes! Juan’s guidance and instruction resulted in one of the best meals ever! We can highly recommend this excellent activity. A must do for an authentic Barcelona experience. Thank you, Juan and Barcelona Cooking for a perfect celebration.

Google
Had a great cooking class with chef Sonia! The booking process was easy and the team very responsive! Enjoyed the interactive cooking session, we all got to contribute to making our lunch under the guidance of chef Sonia! Thanks for a great cooking class 5 stars ⭐️ and highly recommend

Yelp
We loved our day with Juan! He was so informative but also fun! We really appreciated his expertise through the market as it can be intimidating. The food was top notch and the only Paella with got on our trip! I would highly recommend this to anyone debating as it was a great day!

Yelp
A wonderful time was had by all in Juan's class. There were 12 total in our group, with 4 kids and 8 adults. We started off on a 45 minute tour of the market, familiarizing us with the market layout and history. We had a small ham tasting as well with Serrano vs Iberian ham. The prep was done in various stages with the kids actively preparing the five dishes- gazpacho, tomato garlic toast, Spanish omelette, seafood paella and crème brûlée. There was plenty of white and red wine as well. The experience was not only fun but the people I met were lovely.

Christine R.

Yelp
Chef Juan led us through creation of an elegant soup with additions that included edible flowers, classic tapas (tortilla and pan con tomate) and a seafood paella. we shopped with him before the class for the seafood at la Boqueria, and at a farmer's market for the vegetables. There were only 2 of us in this class, so we had lots of time for questions and chef tips.

Yelp
Our family had a great time at Barcelona Cooking school! The recipes were delicious and easy to follow, and we have already made some of them at home. The class was very enjoyable and our Chef was lovely and helped us all get to know each other and interact. I would recommend this experience to anyone in Barcelona. As a family with a younger kid, this experience also helped introduce him to new foods that he then ate out and about on our travels.

Yelp
This was a wonderful family experience for all ages. Our family of 5 - 2 adults + 3 children ages 6, 11 & 14 - all enjoyed the Boqueria tour and cooking class. The chef was friendly and patient and was able to gear the cooking instructions and tasks to even our most novice chefs. The tour of the market was insightful and we felt like we had the insider scoop on where to find the freshest and best quality foods amongst the stands. The recipes were easy to follow along with and the finished dishes were absolutely delicious.

Yelp
Highly recommend this experience. my husband and I met a our Chef Juancho at school and had the most memorable time. We had arrived the day before and overslept but were told not to worry, to come over and Juancho would still provide the class for us. It was fun and funny, informative and interactive. We left with our bellies filled and feeling happy. Additionally, our connection with Juancho was special- he is an individual who enjoys what he does and expresses his love thru cooking which was infectious- thank you Juancho! looking forward to cooking together again!

Yelp
What a wonderful experience during our visit to Barcelona. Prior to our trip we did some research on things to do in Barcelona. The Barcelona Cooking experience consistently landed on lists of things to do and was highly recommend. It wasn't an outrageous cost, booking was simple, and communication was great. We opted for the 4 hour paella cooking class and it was outstanding. The class included a trip to Mercat La Boqueria to shop for the ingredients of our Paella. Our instructor was wonderful in explaining the market and chatting with the vendors. It was like a mini tour within our scheduled class. The class itself was marvelous. We made gazpacho, tortilla espanola, tomato bread, creama catalana, of course the star, paella. We had 12 in our class and everyone had their job in meal preparation and plating. It was a perfect size and the instructor was able to keep us engaged and shift between is to ensure we were staying on task. This is also a very kid friendly event and we had two younger children in a our class and they were great. The meal was wonderful and the wine wine was pouring. Highly recommend class and they even email you the recipes the following day.

Yelp
What a great cultural experience! For us, discovering new foods is an important part of exploring foreign countries. Typically this occurs when we visit the local restaurants or cafes. Great food always heightens our travel experience and creates great memories. Barcelona Cooking provided a way for us to not only eat great food, but also to be a part of the local culture by taking us shopping for the food in the local market and then showing us how to prepare the Spanish dishes in their clean, modern kitchen. We then enjoyed the wonderful meal we had created with our new friends from all over the world. Our guide, Sonia is a great chef and more than willing to share her knowledge of food preparation and the ingredients used in the course. Along with her expertise and some of the great local wines, we had an unforgettable Barcelona experience. High fives and many thanks to everyone at Barcelona Cooking for creating great memories!

Yelp
This class was a highlight of our trip. The teacher, Sonia, was fantastic and very knowledgeable. All of the food was delicious and although we were familiar with the dishes from our previous travels to Spain, we still learned so much. My 10 yr old son already asked to book another class before we leave.

Monica D.

Yelp
Sonia was amazing - we had such a great time at the Market and with our class in general - thank you for a great experience!

Diane S.

Yelp
We had so much fun doing our paella cooking class with Juan. We made great food, then got to eat it. He made us all laugh while teaching us to cook. Just a great experience that we all really enjoyed. I didn't drink the wine, but my son and husband really enjoyed it. The bread, soup, paella and dessert were all great.

Janet R.

Yelp
My daughter and I had such a fun time cooking paella with Juan. The food and instruction were fabulous. We didn't expect to have so many laughs- he is Juan-derful!!

Yelp
Had the absolute best time ever!! Juan was so involved and interested and was incredibly helpful while we were making the food. He was a wealth of knowledge and answered any questions we had!

David D.

Yelp
The class was terrific! Candido is an excellent teacher and a completely charming person, who made sure everyone was fully engaged in the meal prep, whatever their skill level. And the food was delicious! The class was among the highlights of our wonderful visit to Barcelona.

Yelp
JUAN IN A MILLION! This class was a perfect experience for our last night in Barcelona. From the instruction to the finished product, Juan provided a fun atmosphere to learn and cook Paella. Would recommend to anyone! I

Yelp
Must have experince in Barcelona. You don't only learn how to cook but also eat very very rich dinner, and you get a lot of insights about the good places in Barcelona and the story of every dish you make. The delicious local wine is a huge bonus. This is not a paella class, we cooked an amazing soup, tomato bread (the proper way), Spanish tortilla, paella (the proper way), and as desert a crema catalana. I am very confident i can cook them all by myself after the class.

Nessreen R.

Yelp
My family took a class with Sonia. She was an amazing instructor, we really enjoyed the experienc!

Yelp
Amazing adventure for the whole family. I brought my wife and two kids to the tapas and wine class. The boys were super engaged the entire time which is impressive. The walk through at La Boquería was pretty cool, Candido made sure we knew where to find everything and is super knowledgeable about local foods. Nice education on the history of the market and local foods as well. The kitchen is immaculate and the chef kept it clean the whole class. The food was all fantastic, simple enough for me but also unique in the style so a learning experience for my wife, who is the better chef. We left full and content, with a nice recommendation for ice cream across the street. Siempre entra el postre. I recommend this to anyone coming through Barcelona. Hopefully see you guys again.

Yelp
The best experience in Barcelona. What a day in Barcelona. From buying fresh produce at the farmers market to dicing and slicing vegetables and deveining fresh shrimp, we did it all today. A 4 hour cooking class that was an incredible experience for the family. From 10am and an hour shopping then 3 hours cooking that ended in a huge delicious meal. If ever in Barcelona make sure to absolutely take the #BarcelonaCooking with #ChefRoss. Highlight of the trip thus far!!! 4 hours that was worth every minute!

Yelp
My favorite experience in Barcelona! Everybody had their role in preparing the meal and the food was legit the best food I had in Barcelona! Our particular class made a delicious seafood paella, gazpacho de fresas, Spanish omelet, the tomato bread, and the crema catalana(cream brûlée). I didn't expect to love all of the food the way I did. All of the ingredients were so fresh and the flavors were just so amazing. Our instructor/chef was awesome and did great in assisting us with our tasks. What I love even more is that the wine doesn't stop pouring! Lol. I had A LOT of Spanish wine which paired nicely with our dishes. I also enjoyed meeting and getting to know new people. I traveled to Barcelona for a solo trip so I was by myself in the cooking class but by the end of the class we were all talking, laughing, and eating around the table like old friends. They even send you the recipes to your email and I can't wait to try them at home!

Yelp
This was by far one of my favorite things I have done, not only in my time in Barcelona, but seriously one of my favorite things I have ever done in my life. It was such a fun experience. First of all, the kitchen area was lovely, it was clean and inviting and fun to be in. It was all set up for the class when we walked in. Stefano our instructor was amazing, he made the class very fun. The dishes we made: tomato bread, gazpacho, Spanish omelette, seafood paella and Catalan cream were ALL so amazing. There was all you can drink wine, which is always a plus :) 20/10 recommend this spot as your choice for a cooking class experience in Barcelona. I absolutely think it was worth every penny spent.

Yelp
My 8 year old daughter and I took this class. I was nervous that 5 other kids went with Chef Lalo leaving my daughter as the only child in our class. To my delight, Chef Candido made her his sous chef and made this one of the best experiences I had on the trip, and my daughter keeps raving about it too. The market and the tips we got were fascinating. The food and company were great. Chef Candido was so personable and easy going. He even trusted my little one to make the entire dessert...including using the blow torch. She loved it!! I would definitely recommend this to anyone with or without cooking experience.
google avatar

Yelp
HIGHLY RECOMMEND! this was a true experience and great way to end our trip. Candido, our chef was fantastic and really made sure to teach us all the little things so we could do this on our own. What more could you ask for besides great food and wine in such an intimate setting?! Loved it and would do it again. Candido also gave us a great recommendation for our next destination in Naples and it did not disappoint!!! All around great guy and great experience. Thanks, Barcelona Cooking!

Yelp
I follow full-time travel vloggers Kara and Nate, who are on the verge of visiting their 100th country in just a few short years. They evolved over time to being more experience-minded - enjoying the moments, the people, the culture and the things to do, not just see. That's really cool because it aligns with the philosophy at Blueboard, the company I work for. We're an experiential company! When I watched Kara and Nate's vlog on Barcelona, I was intrigued and inspired by their time at Barcelona Cooking. In a small group setting (no more than 8 people) in a private, professional kitchen 3 floors above the main tourist thoroughfare of Las Ramblas, several times a week you can join Barcelona Cooking's classes and learn how to cook traditional Spanish, and especially Catalan cuisine. Hosted by professional a chef, and with varying dish selections, your group (or the group you meet and join) learns how to prepare each course, everyone participates in making everything, and at the end, you EAT what you made! The cost starts at €65 per adult (about half price for kids, but check with them on age limitations, as you will be in a live kitchen with fire, hot dishes and lots of sharp knives), and includes all instruction, food and drink (water, red wine and white wine). The meal we set out to prepare consisted of, for starters, pumpkin squash soup, traditional Spanish omelette and tomato bread. The main course was, of course, seafood paella, with prawns, cuttlefish, mussels and clams. The closer was crema Catalan - Catalunya's version of crème brûlée. A couple of folks were no shows, so it ended up just being six, including me. There was a family of 4 from Indiana. The kids were 12 and 13; the younger boy was fascinated with the chef's knives. The other solo traveler was from Russia, spoke very little English and no Spanish, but was very interested in learning how to cook. She didn't know we were going to eat the food we cooked, so she ate dinner before she showed up and didn't have an appetite at all for our finished product. Our chef was a gal named Kindra - born in the US, but raised in Barcelona. She's lived in and travels often to West Africa, and is fluent in English, Spanish and French. Her method of teaching was to show us (in a short example) of how to do something, and then let us have at it. We rotated stations so we all pretty much got to lend a hand in creating every dish. She was hands-off for the most part, and if someone made a mistake, she would chalk it up to us using "the other recipe." Overall it was a great experience and well worth what seems like a steep price of admission. Consider, it included all those courses of food, free flowing wine and instruction in a professional kitchen by a trained chef. Oh, the laughs and smiles are included as well!

Debra K.

Yelp
Best hands on cooking class we've experienced! Shopped at the La Boqueria Market and sliced and diced to create fabulous meal of tomato bread, gazpacho, Spanish omelette, paella, and Catalan custard. Recipes provided. So psyched to recreate this meal at home! Thanks for one of the best experiences on our trip to Spain and Italy!

Yelp
Barcelona Cooking is an absolute must to complete your travels in Spain. My fiancé and I took a class with Rose, and we even consider this dining experience as separate and perfect in itself from the other culinary delights in Spain. For 65 euros, you get 5 dishes (as well as endless Spanish wines): - Crema de Calabaza: This was a butternut squash soup that was creamy without the cream and super healthy. It was topped with edible flowers and toasted hazelnuts - absolutely scrumptious and beautiful. It was also very simple to make and we will be making this many times at home. - Tortilla Espanola: I was not the biggest fan, as I thought it needed more punch in flavor. But the egg and potato base were hearty and good to whet your appetite. - Pan Con Tomate: Served with the tortilla espanola, this was also very quick and easy to make. - Paella Valenciana: Best.paella.ever! We made everything from scratch, including browning the chicken and getting the beautiful fond at the bottom and then mixing in all the other vegetables. I was particularly excited for this dish because I always see seafood paella, so it was great to explore different styles. Beware if you help out with the cooking though! My fiancé burned his finger slightly... a sacrifice that resulted in a delicious dish. - Crema Catalana: This Italian version of the creme brûlée was also simple to make, but so delectable. Rose conducted the whole session in English and we ended up going over the 3 hours, but solely due to good conversation with the other classmates and eating at a leisurely pace. I cannot recommend this enough!

jim R.

Yelp
Fantastic, Juan is the best. We had a blast, shopping , cooking , eating and drinking. We learned to cook some Spanish specialties and enjoyed a wonderful meal with some new friends.

Beth L.

Yelp
A highlight of our trip - the market tour and cooking class with Juan and the rest of the "family" was a very fun way to spend Saturday evening. Food was delicious, plenty of wine, great location. Juan does an excellent job teaching, entertaining and orchestrating a wonderful time.
google avatar

Paige P.

Yelp
We had the best time during our paella cooking class with Juan! The morning started with a tour of the amazing market, where Juan showed us the highlights, including some of Gaudi's early designs and picked out a few ingredients for our meal. Then we returned to the cooking studio and got to work with Juan explaining everything step by step, while also empowering his "cheffies" to get cooking! Juan is an amazing teacher and a great ambassador for the city. Our group of Americans from all over the states were so fun and we loved the camaraderie and together we cooked a fantastic meal. I cannot recommend this class enough - it was a highlight of our trip!
google avatar

Krystal Y.

Yelp
Best cooking class ever!!! Not only was the cooking awesome with great new techniques but the chef, Candido, really made the experience PHENOMENAL!!!! His charisma, knowledge, and interesting personal stories made the whole experience! A must do for any food lovers!
google avatar

Vincent M.

Yelp
This was such a fun and rewarding class for my wife and I. We loved Chef Candido. He gave us a good insight on Spanish cooking and taught us so much about the foods at the Boqueria. There is a reason why Barcelona Cooking keeps a 5 star rating. This is a fun class with an amazing chef. I promise you will love this cooking experience.

Lisa P.

Yelp
Chef Juan curated a great experience for his sou chefs. We each had a station and chopped and diced our ingredients for Spanish omelette, butternut squash soup, seafood paella, and Catalan crema, while washing down with some vino.
google avatar

Lynne C.

Yelp
My husband and I found this cooking class from one of the Barcelona travel blogs and we both can't cook so gave it a go. IT WAS SUCH A BLAST! Rose was an incredible instructor! A trained chef who teaches three types of courses, she made it easy and fun to learn about the Catalan culture and also how to get the best eats from the market. We had so so much fun and if you can swing it, highly recommend you taking the class. The paella was absolutely delicious and the people you meet while cooking is just as much fun!
google avatar

Dave W.

Yelp
My wife and I enjoyed two cooking classes, separated by a long bike ride around Barcelona, in this beautiful kitchen, Our first class started with a guided tour / shopping excursion to La Boqueria! Then, with our fresh seafood in hand, we came back and learned how to make Paella as it can only be done by a true expert (hint: not us). Wow! What an experience! To top it off, our second class taught us multiple techniques and dishes including carefully prepared artichoke soup, fresh scallops, tomato bread, spicy potatoes, and the ultimate Catalan delicacy, Calçots with Romesco sauce. This day was our best ever in Barcelona. We will return!

Larry M.

Yelp
My wife and I had a tapas class with Juan, which started with a visit to the market. So much fun, and such good food and good company. Can not recommend any more highly.

Erin K.

Yelp
This cooking class was the highlight of my trip to Barcelona! I traveled solo for a long weekend and decided to try this class. I took the class where we visit the Boqueria Market and then cook gazpacho, tortilla Española, paella, and Catalan Cream. We had 11 people in the class and it was an overall wonderful experience. Our Chef was very knowledgable and made the class fun and educational. We all played a role in cooking the meal and then enjoyed wine and food and new friends. It was an affordable way to learn more about the culture of Spain and cooking. Whether you are traveling solo or in a group, check this place out. You will not regret it!
google avatar

Laura M.

Yelp
Great event for a group! 12 of us from Laguna Beach CA had an excellent time learning how to make Spanish Paella. Katrina was an amazing teacher, She had some nice tips that will come in handy in the future. If your looking for a fun evening...good food, nice wine and a great teacher this is the place.
google avatar

Yelp
We had a lovely chef, Ross (pronounced "Rose"), who took our group of eleven around La Boqueria and taught us to cook a four course meal. The market tour was amazing with local butchers, spices, and chocolate makers. We even got some tasting samples along our tour. We bought our fresh ingredients and headed back to the kitchen where each person had an area set-up for food prep. She went around, showed some chopping tips, and assigned each of us a duty so together we made gazpacho, Spanish omelette, chicken paella, tomato bread, and Catalan cream (like creme brûlée). We met some wonderful people, had great conversations, and enjoyed a lovely meal. This was a definite highlight for our trip.

Yelp
What an incredible experience! Easily the highlight of my trip to Barcelona. I booked the Spanish cooking class and tour of La Boqueria. Lalo was an extremely knowledgeable, warm, and funny chef and guide. Other than having a great time and eating delicious, I picked up practical knowledge that I can apply in my own kitchen (not to mention you get to keep the recipes and instructions to impress your friends and family back home). I am also a vegetarian and Lalo and staff had no problem adapting the recipe to my diet (aka I got a whole paella pan to myself). If tours weren't all booked up, I'd do it again before I leave!

Jocelyn A.

Yelp
Taking a cooking class from Chef Stefano at Barcelona Cooking was one of the best experiences in my life. He really taught us the importance of having the right ingredients such as the spices, the freshness of the produce and seafood. Also, all the details of cutting, peeling, stirring, and grating just makes you fall in love with the entire process of cooking. I highly recommend taking a lesson from Barcelona Cooking. This is a definite add to your bucket list!

Carly S.

Yelp
This was an incredible experience. We had chef Candido who is also the owner of the business. He was INCREDIBLE and so accommodating to anyone who had a dietary restriction. We made a four course meal and had wine was also provided. Everything was delicious and was one of the best meals since I have been in Barcelona. I would recommend this to everyone and anyone.

Yelp
Wow -- awesome experience! Excellent time, food, and instructor/chef. We took a trip to the local market (La Boqueria) and did some browsing, buying, and tasting. Afterwards we went back to the kitchen and got to work making several Catalunyan delights. If you have a few hours in Barcelona I would whole-heartedly recommend this -- it's a MUST-DO! Excellent bang for the buck -- four course meal, market tour, cooking lessons, and great conversation.

Yelp
Wow. This place. Wow. It was possibly the highlight of our Spain vacation !! Best ever. Brought our daughter, our son and his fiance, and a couple of friends as well!! We had Ross, (as in Friends!!) as our chef. She was amazing. First, all food was waiting for us to prepare!! They buy everything from a farmers market. We all had our specific jobs.... we sliced, diced, chopped, de-veined shrimp, cleaned the mussels and clams, all the prep for the amazing meal ahead. We took the Traditional Spanish cooking class which allowed us to prepare and eat the Spanish Tortilla, Gazpacho, Bread w/tomato, creme brulee, but also, of course, seafood paella. It was the BEST, so much fun, the wine was poured AFTER the knives were out of our hands!! (yes, we noticed that!!)..(smart move!). I can't say enough about this class. We have already referred others who are going soon. It's a must do if you're traveling to Barcelona. IT'S A MUST DO !! Thanks to everyone at Barcelona Cooking for making this such a highlight of our trip. Worth every penny and every second!! Janis/Brad Levesque

Yelp
This was a great way to learn about the local cuisine. The class, which is 65 euros per person, commences around 6:00pm and goes until about 9:00pm. You not will only learn how to cook some of the local fare, but you will also get the chance to sample some of the local wines. Some of the dishes we learned to make included Tortilla Espanola, Pan Con Tomate (which was so easy to make and yet so good), and a paella. Nonetheless, a great dinner option and a wonderful way to spend the evening.
google avatar

John S.

Yelp
A really nice way to see La Boqueria, and then learn how to cook what we bought. Our guide Kindra, was very helpful. She knew her way around La Boqueria and made what could have been an overwhelming place feel very accessible. Back at the kitchen, we made so much great food. We really enjoyed our experience.

Mary C.

Yelp
I was disappointed with the "Spanish Cooking Class" offered by Barcelona Cooking (mid-October).. The instructor/chef was aloof and uninterested in student input. I pointed out that a few of the mussels/clams purchased at the market were dead. (You don't have to be a 3-star chef to know a dead mussel -- they are partly open, don't close, and don't open when cooked.) He sniffed that he knew shellfish. When the paella was done, he served me last and gave me a dead mussel. The group contained a range of nationalities, and the class was conducted in English as promised. However, one participant spoke good Spanish and the instructor/chef spent at least half an hour talking to her in Spanish. He gave restaurant suggestions and other travel tips (I believe), leaving the rest of us with limited Spanish to twiddle our thumbs.

Yelp
Amazing Experience! The school is very well equipped and the localization is perfect! Just across La Boqueria. We spent the beginning of the class with the Chef exploring La Boqueria Market where he taught us how to pick the ingredients for the recipe. Then, we went back to school to prepare the recipes. I would do it again when I am back to Barcelona :)
google avatar

SD L.

Yelp
Wow - perfect. Chef Candido was a great host for a cooking party! And yes, you cook - no watching! But a lot of fun. I will book again

Yelp
My husband loves to cook so this was a surprise for him while we were visiting Barcelona for our wedding anniversary; I must confess I've never taken a cooking class in my life, but I decided to also attend--WHAT A MEMORABLE EXPERIENCE! Chef Lalo was wonderful, making the class interesting for experienced cooks, while giving a novice like me great tips. He took us to the La Boqueria market first, showing us how to pick fresh fish (bright eyes and red gills), what to look for when choosing spices, and more. Then we were back in the kitchen, preparing the most delicious multi-course gourmet meal that we experienced while traveling in Spain! We learned how to properly cook mussels, how to make the Spanish version of America's "surf + turf", how to make Catalonia's famous flat bread and how to make the most exquisite dessert...then we were able to feast! Oh, and did I mention you get to enjoy cava, red and white wine throughout the class? Chef Lalo made this day an unforgettable experience and was the highlight of our trip!
