Barcelona Wine Bar

We had a great dining experience at Barcelona Wine Bar Stamford. Every thing was delicious and fresh. Service was fantastic, attentive and friendly. We sat outside which was way less noisy than indoors. Chicken Pimientos was my favorite, imo a must try. But really everything we tried including the drinks were very delicious.

Most of the food is quite good (the Buneolos are supposed to have ham, but the amount of ham in it is virtually nil). The place is in dire need of a refresh. The seats have torn covers, the chairs' paint is worn, the entry door looks very worn and dirty, the windows are so dirty it looks like it's foggy outside. And the service is lacking. Plates are "deposited" on the table, not served. Not one of the plates, designed for sharing, comes with a spoon so everyone has to use their own fork - when I asked for spoons I got an eye roll from the waitress. Most servers don't smile - does not come across as a happy place. Noise is on the very high end. Overall, just fair.

I had the most amazing dining experience here. I have a few food allergies and when I told the waiter, Alex, he took a menu and a pen and marked off everything I could and couldn’t have. I’ve never had such an incredible experience eating out with my food allergies. Thank you so much Alex!!! Also, the food is incredible. I gave 3 stars for Atmosphere because it’s very loud in there and our reservation was at 7:45 but we weren’t seated until 8:25. Highly recommend!!

Great dinner experience! Made me miss Spain since I lived there for 2 years. It’s easy to over order Very very crowded though. We didn’t get seated til 30 mins after our reservation time which means they weren’t managing the table timings well. A lot of people standing by the bar waiting.

I went to Barcelona with my husband while on a work trip last week and was blown away! I felt as if I was in Barcelona itself! The servers were incredibly kind and hospitable. They shared their favorite dishes and drinks with us and welcomed us warmly. I felt as if we were at their house and not just as restaurant. We went and tried a little of everything. All drinks and tapas which transformed my taste buds to another dimension. If I could order everything on the menu I would. But my wallet and pants would not allow! 🤣. We not only made sure to go back a second time before the end of our trip, but we ordered different dishes the second time to try even more, and nothing disappointed! The spices were so flavorful. I loved everything. Even dessert was incredible. Please try the olive oil cake with a cortado. It will end the night on a blissful note. Tip your servers on the high end. Write a good review. This place is absolutely perfect. If I lived in Stamford I would come here every week. My husband does have to go back in November and I can’t wait to go just to frequent Barcelona! ☺️. I can’t give this Barcelona location enough stars!!! I have tried a few of their other locations, all of which were amazing in their own ways, but Stamford will always have my heart. The staff here is out of this world and their customer service is undefeated. Chris is such an amazing manager and always greets my party and I with the warmest greeting. Everything runs smoothly with him around. Alex is one of my favorite servers and I will never cease to be amazed by his excellent memory. He is always on top of everything and so accommodating and friendly. The food here is like none other! I can never get enough of this place! They offer free bread and olive oil - who doesn’t love that?! The menu staples and changes are never a disappointment, and are always so fresh. Don’t even get me started about the dessert. My experience is not complete without the olive oil cake! The ambiance here is unmatched and truly is a vibe. They stay open pretty late during the week too which is awesome! All that to say - this is hands down one of the best restaurants, not only every where, but especially in Stamford.

It didn’t happen overnight, but over time, through countless visits and shared laughs, she got to know me—my drinks, my food, and even my moods. That kind of care and consistency is everything. She’s been a staple at Barcelona for as long as I can remember, and her energy never wavers. Always bubbly, never negative, and truly one of the most uplifting, radiant souls you’ll meet behind any bar. You can feel her presence the second you walk in, and when she’s there, you just know it’s going to be a good night. She’s not just great at what she does—she survives and thrives in every sense of the word. A beautiful human inside and out. Barcelona is better because of her. Thank you for being you. Great vibe but came very short on service (Saturday night), our waiter was informative and kind but clearly short handed and too busy to check on us, bring us water or sell us more wine/cocktails. Definitely need to look into staffing during prime time. All the tables were looking for assistance, more bread, water, and drinks. Food was tasty, cooked well, paella especially tasty. I was expecting more, especially after being to the location in DC that was spot on. Disappointed to say the least.

My friend I got dinner with has gluten and dairy allergies and our amazing server, Grace, customized and marked up a menu to make her ordering so much easier!!! It was a wonderful experience and delicious food and drinks!!!! Cheers Barcelona!

Great Tapas Great Service Parking is reasonable Ambiance is very nice and intimate Drinks are...great. Some classics, and some crafted If you order the Paella, it is a sharing portion. But it is delicious.

I wish the Stamford location was even a quarter as good as their West Hartford location. I don't know if I came at the worst time (brunch, with only 2 other tables occupied), or what the cause was, but the experience put me off to ever wanting to go back in person. The service was extremely slow... we waited nearly an hour just for 2 mocktails. And then even longer for our 3 tapas we ordered. The kicker? Once the waitress dropped off our food it's like she clocked out and ran home. Didn't see her again until the plates were cleaned. When we asked the person bringing our food where she was, she said she was really busy (but we literally saw her hanging by the kitchen door on her phone). It's a chain, so expecting the food to be good is the bare minimum. The service is what makes each location unique. Also, the location itself is pretty gross. It was mid day and there were a few flies all around in the dead of winter. Makes me wonder what's going on to cause there to be constant flies... Hopefully others have better experience than me! Most reviews are good so hopefully mine is just a one off, but I'll be avoiding this location. I've been going to Barcelona for years, so it's disappointing to have this type of experience.

Came here for the first time for happy hour and an early dinner. Happy hour runs until 6 on weekdays and includes drinks and food. There are a few food items including a steak tartare. I also got the churros which is only available during happy hour. Service and ambiance were great!

This is my favorite go-to spot. It's super easy to get tapas and share with others. They have a great wine selection. The staff is always attentive and friendly. For a heavy plate order the chicken pimientos it is amazing. The bar is cozy as well and often i prefer sitting there.

What a happening place on a Friday night! Great vibes and ambiance. The bartender and our waitress were great, I didn't catch their names though because it was a little loud inside from the music and talking but it was all good, the noise level did not bother us. The wine and tapas we ordered were delicious. Wish I had a pic of the tapas, but the lighting was dim, which was a plus for us. Try the Croquetas de Jamón y Manchego and the Bacon wrapped dates - so delish!

Had a great meal. I love the concept of tapas because you get to try many things. My favorite was the Jamón & Manchego Croquettes, with the Roasted Rainbow Carrots a close second, and my husband really enjoyed the Paella Mariscos, a generous serving Even though it was a Monday, the place was hopping, so much so that our servers weren't as attentive as we would have liked. Nonetheless, we would definitely go back.

Such an amazing place for tapas and to catch up with friends! The ambience is super nice as well, after certain hour it becomes very intimate as they turn down the lights but I enjoyed it. The service was super fast and I appreciate how they timed it so not all tapas came out together. The servers were super nice and helpful with recommendations. Everything that we order was amazing except for the cheesecake basque, this was the only thing that was dry and lacked flavor.

Stamford's restaurant scene is lucky to have Barcelona around. It's always a great vibe and there's so much wine to choose from. All the food is great and the menu refreshes through the seasons. Potato tortilla is the best around! Always have great service not only at this one but also Norwalk as well. Great lively spot for a date.

Great spot for a night out with a group of friends. We ordered quite a few dishes, and our favorites were the croquetas, bacon wrapped dates, and the eggplant caponata. Service was very slow, so be prepared for that, however they did apologize that the kitchen was backed up and gave us a complimentary steak paillard, which was delicious. I would also be prepared for a long wait regardless if you have a reservation or not - our reservation was for 7:15 and we weren't seated until 8:10. Even though the service was slow overall, the food makes up for it. We had a great night dining at Barcelona.

This place is a terrific tapas restaurant. I've been here a few times now on work trips and the food is always excellent. The service is so fast. I always come here to get good Spanish food and experience a nice ambiance. Whenever I'm in Stamford CT, I always stop by.

My new favorite place. Every few years I have a "food moment". You know, when the food, wine, ambience. Everything. Is just right. And you almost get tearful? Like that. I'd had a loooong day, moving into my new apartment, lugging and unpacking boxes. And not eating enough. And then the snow storm arrived. I wanted a good meal with nice wine to end the day. But one of the only places I knew in Stamford (the excellent Quartiere) closed early because of the snow. So I called Barcelona - where I'd previously only been for late night drinks. Their kitchen was going to close "early" at 11pm. I trudged there and, thanks to Miguel, had an excellent meal. Roasted beets and the signature lemon/chili/chicken dish. With a cocktail and 2 small tasting glasses of Grenache (did I mention, this place has a prize-winning wine list, featuring Spanish, Italian, and New World varietals you might not otherwise consider). A great meal. Can't wait to go back.

This is a go to restaurant when visiting Stamford. The food, wine and service are consistently excellent. The mushroom croquettes are a must try. The selection of cheeses always leads to a new experience. The olive oil cake is a favorite dessert.

I never take the time to review restaurants but the service (Tobit was our server) was outstanding at Barcelona last night. My dinner was delicious. I had bronzino, broccolini, eggplant caponata and the Basque cheesecake. I'm spoiled by Jose Andres' basque cheesecake at Hudson Yards, so their is room for improvement there but I will definitely be back. GREAT restaurant!

Absolutely love coming to Barcelona for drinks and small appetizers with my friends. The wine is great, sometimes they even do half off on wine bottles. The empanadas were absolutely delicious, I ordered two orders they were so good. This is a great place for a casual night with friends. The service was great they kept the wine coming!

This place looked impressive AND WAS. We have been to this chain several times at the Fairfield location but this was the first time in Stamford. We sat in the patio/sidewalk and which had a nice breeze. The food is smaller portions (tapas) and made it great for sharing. The potatoes are always our favorite tapa the sauce on them is legit. My wife ordered mocktail and said it was "to die for". We love this chain and make it our go-to when visiting Connecticut.

Every business trip I take to Stamford I always stop at Barcelona. Not going to lie - I haven't had a tapas there I haven't liked. Now are some better than others? Absolutely BUT 9 out 10 dishes have been delicious. One item that makes the list every time but I always fail to take a picture of is the paella. I dream about their paella and the crispy bits on the bottom of the pan... The only thing that would make this place better is if they could make a Carajillo...

This place definitely does not live up to the hype. It's always so incredible crowded. It's hard to communicate to the server it's so loud which makes it difficult if you have allergies. The food is super hit or miss. I wouldn't recommended this place.

Was served what looked like roadkill, wasn't cleaned completely (still had bone joint) and was dry. I ate it because I didn't want to wait 30 mins for a replacement. I was asked of my experience and I was honest. The manager took it off the bill. The manager was very understanding. The chicken - for me - is the best in the area. I will be back. Just an off night and the management here was amazing. For those who haven't tried the chicken or the restaurant... you don't know what you're missing. A must.

Skip it and go to the one in Norwalk, unless you can get a table outside during the summer. The problem is that the restaurant seems to have caught the plague infecting a few other Stamford restaurants, namely the plague leading to the belief that as soon as the sun sets, the restaurant should be a fratboy nightclub complete with deafening music playing over what is already a loud place, and hooping and hollering wait staff pouring liquor into diners' mouths from atop of booths. So it's difficult to go here and have a conversation. Would be fine if they did some celebration like this at the top of the hour like Kouzina, but instead it's constant, and not what you would expect from a wine bar. Additionally, while the food menu is good, it can't seem to hit the right balance of varying and adding new items as appropriate, while keeping the crowd pleasers on. They could also stand to introduce some new cocktails from time to time. Like I said, go to the one in Norwalk. The Norwalk location is larger and better for a fun dinner with friends, as it's warm and lively but not deafeningly loud.

It's okay if you can get a table here. Food is reliable because it's a chain. The service needs work because they clearly don't honor reservations

My husband and I drive from NY several times a year to eat at Barcelona for special occasions. It is such a warm inviting atmosphere. We are always impressed by the servers who are professional, friendly and helpful in their recommendations. The food is consistently delicious and during our most recent visit we were excited to try some items on the menu that were new since our last time dining there and, as usual, they didn't disappoint.

My only complaint is that is so far away and I can't go back without a cross country flight. Yes there is one in Denver, and I will give it a try but even that is not easy these days. And so far from its founding base in CT, I hope they have the same style. Everything was perfection, if that is possible, other than it was raining, but our host dropped us off at the door and she went and dealt with parking and walking back in the rain. I guess locals know easily, where the parking is available. We were greeted and seated in a very nice and comfortable booth. We were welcomed by staff immediately. We had some time until our friend arrived but they served us complimentary and very tasty bread and olive oil until she arrived. And offered drinks but we chose to wait a bit. When our friend arrived, we ordered our drinks, the others had wine, I had the best white sangria I have ever had. We negotiated enough tapas, to cover all our likes. We have all had great tapas elsewhere so we had a sense of what to choose. We found a good balance and all winners, each with our faves. My fave were the boquerones, others thought the scallops, and we all enjoyed the bacon wrapped dates, the burrata, the piquillos, all were good. We also ordered a small Mariscos Paella to share. I have had high quality Paella in the Bay Area and have made my own. Everything we ordered was an ample serving. We were so stuffed we "almost" skipped dessert, but I never skip a flan, and it was perfect too. Whenever I get back to Stamford I will check this place again. Years ago, I thought Dali, in Cambridge was the best, but Barcelona now is for me and I am more likely to return to this area. I really want to thank the staff for impeccable service.

One of the most consistently delicious spots in the area. The service is always top notch there too. The go-to items would be the tapas and cheeses. 5 items is usually are standard for us, maybe an extra one if you just worked out and have been running on just coffee all morning (wow Tim, that was oddly specific). Croquetas, Brussel Sprouts, spinach and chick peas, empanadas would be the suggestion it's your first time. Usually I'm a bit skeptical of ordering coffee drinks at a restaurant. Sometimes I question whether if places take their coffee seriously or if they just have it on the menu because they feel the need offer it. We had cappuccinos today and it was at the same high level quality as the food!

Food was delicious however the waitress was extremely rude! We had a party and due to this being a work event, we asked her for separate checks and said it was very difficult, did it bit with an attitude! On top of that several of us paid cash and she didn't bring back our change ! No one said it was her tip! She's the reason I won't be going back there !

Chris, Miguel, and the whole team at Barcelona wine bar were incredible! The hospitality and food is the best in Stamford. Everyone had a smile on their face and we felt so welcomed here. I recommend the Tygre drink, prawns, and of course the pallela! This should be your #1 stop when you visit Stamford. The ambiance was also great. Fantastic outdoor seating.

We love Barcelona and wish we had them in our area. Vibe is really great, wine selection is terrific and menu offerings are interesting. That being said, we've been disappointed the last few times we've been there. Recently we had a really nice bartender so that was helpful. Overall we feel the company is slipping. Food is not as good as it used to be, portions sizes seem to be shrinking, prices are going up and we mean this only constructively, we felt in the past the staff, especially management in front of house was more seasoned and more professional and service and customer focused and even the staff, especially at the bar, need to be more educated when it comes to spirits and beer and obviously have a breadth of wine knowledge. The last few times we've been here the service seems very frenzied and all over the place and not as focused and professional and efficient in the past. We really do like Barcelona and hope they'll re-visit these issues.

We love this place!! This location in my opinion is the best. Vibes and staff are on point! It's always busy but the servers pleasantries make up for any delays. This is a great date night or brunch spot. Great food Great drinks Great service Only taking away a star as sometimes the music is wayyyy too loud. This depends on the night and depends where you are seated.

Came here for a friends birthday and was extremely satisfied not only with the quality and deliciousness of the food, but Jocelyn and Chris went out of their way to make our experience even better! 2 of us are gluten free and the staff made sure to accommodate and make the menu items clear as to which were gf safe! 10/10 would recommend and cannot wait to come back!

Love Barcelona! Always one of my top and favorite places to eat and share a bottle of wine with a friend. I love their changing schedule to what's in season but they do have some classics that don't leave the menu. Service is always quick even when they're busy. The managers and servers really put an effort to maintain upbeat vibe and I always have fun when I'm there.

It was Mothers Day and surprised that there was not a long line. The food at Barcelona's in both West Hartford and Stamford are consistently prepared and excellent! The selection of tapas is very diverse and great to share among a few people.

This place is ideal for a few reasons. Its in a great location right by my movie theater so its a perfect date spot. Its also a lively environment with great food too. I think we had a few issues with ordering our food, but overall I highly recommend.

The food here standard across all Barcelona Wine Bars - all the tapas are tasty and come out pretty quickly. I highly recommend coming here if you're looking for good ambience is good service. My wife, my dog and I sat outside during a super chilly night. The waiters were good about getting us our food quickly and making sure that we were being served, even though we were the only folks sitting outside.

Great tapas dishes and sangrias to accompany them. This location is an on street parking site but the Fairfield location does have parking and same menu. The bacon wrapped dates are always a winner!

I enjoy this place very much. I've been to two other locations and the food is amazing. The staff is accommodating and the atmosphere was great. I came here for an anniversary dinner and it was definitely well worth it. I would recommend this place.

Came here for a quick dinner with my coworkers and had a great experience! The restaurant is super cute with lots of seating - we came on a Tuesday in the early evening so we were seated immediately. Service was good, we were asked by multiple waiters about drinks and food, which was a little confusing, but better than the alternative. We got a pitcher of the red sangria - tasted amazing and not too sweet. For food, I got the pintxos morunos, patatas bravas, and spinach and chickpea cazuela. Everything came out promptly and tasted delicious. The chicken was perfectly seasoned and cooked. Portions sizes were pretty typical for a tapas place - easy to share but also easy to eat for one perfect. Would love to come back and try more dishes and would highly recommend!

Went there for dinner on Aug 20th. Food was great and it was a perfect night for outdoor dining. Our server Alex was incredible; attentive, friendly and informative. Definitely going back.

We sat at the bar for over 1 hr waiting for a table. There were plenty tables available but I never received the text saying ours was ready. We left and had a lovely dinner at Fiesta.

The drinks are really good especially the sangria and the different G&T! Service was awesome and all the tapas were really delicious

Not my vibe. Everything is fine, especially if you are looking for a place to have wine. The tapas was okay, but not the most delicious food I've ever had. A little pricey, but generally decent service. It just wasn't my vibe and I probably won't be going back again.

Took my husband and child here to celebrate Father's Day and left very disappointed. The experience was "meh" at best. We sat at our table for 20 mins before anyone came to our table, and that was only because I flagged down a waitress and told them we've been waiting so long since being seated. The restaurant wasn't even busy? i noticed most of the staff inside just talking amongst themselves. While the server was apologetic, overall the service subsequently took too long, food was lackluster and to add insult to injury the next day my husband and baby had stomach problems (putting it mildly). Disappointing because he loves the location in Hartford and was really looking forward to making the Stamford location a frequent stop.

The best tapas in Fairfield county. They seem to have something on the menu for everyone, and the prices are very reasonable for what you get. Some of the best dishes are the mushroom croquettes, empanadas, hummus, eggplant caponata, and the star of the show is the patatas bravas. Most of the food is pretty simple but in the best possible way. I will say, it is loud. It's a busy place and a bit of a cramped space. But as long as you know what you're getting into it's really not too much of an issue. Service has been incredible every time I've been. I don't think there is much kids would like, but it's a wine bar so that's to be expected. Overall I think it's a unique, reliable place to get a nice meal that's worth what you pay for.

Our favorite spot in Stamford! Whether you're looking for a brunch, lunch, or dinner Barcelona is always delicious! Service is great and there are lots of tapas options. We've never had a bad dish! Book it!

My family and I passed my Barcelona several times and finally made the trip today. We arrived at around 4:30 PM and got seated immediately. The indoor seating area was clean and not noisy. There was a nice, warm ambiance and we were greeted by many of the servers. Our drink and food order was taken fairly quickly. Tapas: Jamon & Manchego Croquetas - Delicious! Perfectly fried, perfect balance of potatoes, ham, and cheese. This came out first and it was a great way to start the meal! Crispy Calamari - The calamari was cooked perfectly. No complaints here! This was one of my favorite dishes. Bacalao Rellenos - Surprisingly very good! The sauce it was cooked in was delicious and paired well with the bread brought to the table. Eggplant Caponata - I didn't try this, but my parents enjoyed it! Large Plates: Paella Mariscos (half) - The edges were slightly burnt (assuming from the sauce), but it was cooked so perfectly otherwise. The rice was cooked well (not overdone or underdone other than the burnt bits around the edge), the seafood was all well cooked (not over cooked nor tough), and the shrimp at the center was the best part. I couldn't stop eating it even though I was full. Definitely one of my favorite parts of the meal! Parillada Barcelona - This dish was definitely a let down. The sausage was extremely juicy and the chicken had a crispy skin, juicy meat, and wasn't dry. However, we had asked for the meat to be cooked medium and it came out well done. Despite this, the meat wasn't tough. We just wished it was cooked medium. Dessert (not pictured, took it to go) Flan Catalan - The flan was good! Nothing special about it, but it was delicious all the same. Olive Oil Cake - This was definitely the superior of the two desserts we ordered. Although the cake looked dense and oily, it was surprisingly not dense not overly oily! It was sweet without being overly sweet as well. It was a fair balance of flavors and very well baked. Overall, our experience at Barcelona was great! Our food took a fair amount of time to come out (the large plates), but I had read up previous Yelp reviews warning me about this, so I wasn't thrown off by the time it took. The service was friendly and not overbearing (no one was hovering over us) but they were always there when we needed them. It took some time for us to get our check at the end, but at that point, the restaurant was filling up, so I can understand why. Definitely recommend to anyone looking for a nice night out, just do not recommend the steak!
