This man-made beach is great because: it is located very close to the city center (15 minute drive from Gothic Quarter); large beach with plenty of space (even on crowded Sundays); sand is soft; young vibe; long breakwater into the ocean; shaded promenade near the shore; and pretty boardwalk. Topless suntanning appears to be permitted. Did not see umbrella rentals or chair rentals - bring your own.

Great city beach. Nice sand, some reasonable beach bars and restaurants. Spoilt by aggressive, illegal hawkers selling drinks, massages, and tattoos. Would go back, but bring your headphones and ignore the pestering.

Long, clean, very nice beach with some bars, restaurants around, sport and play ground. I really enjoyed time at this beach

This is such a beautiful beach. I didn’t realize how much I miss beautiful beaches with sand and water as beautiful as the sky. It was a fabulous experience and I am so glad there was some sunlight when I went! It was amazing and people are really creative with the sand sculptures!

I think Barceloneta is a great place to walk around. It looked clean, there were people exercising, relaxing, and enjoying the beach. It felt peaceful and even beautiful to walk through.

The Barcelona beach can get quite busy even in the winter. There are some people selling blankets if you would like to sit at the beach and to enjoy the view. There are several artists that create sand figures which are quite fascinating, personally I haven't seen anything like it.

Oh, the beach, the sea, Barcelona – everything here is just perfect. The atmosphere of the winter sea is unlike anything else. It’s clean, and while there are quite a few tourists, it makes sense with temperatures around 15°C in the middle of winter – it’s the perfect time to relax and enjoy the surroundings. There are many beach vendors who eagerly try to sell special blankets to lay on the sand, so you can relax comfortably. Along the shore, right next to the beach, there’s a beautiful palm-lined promenade, perfect for leisurely walks or jogging. You can easily reach the beach by public transport, such as a bus, which is very convenient.

Just... wow. The view was absolutely breathtaking — the kind that makes you pause and soak it all in. Words don’t do it justice. Pure magic.
