Amazing and surprising place! The service is super nice, helpful and friendly. If you want to have a coffee, snack or a little sweet, definitely try it and go for it. The New York cheesecake is amazing tasty!!! The ambiance is cool but good. It’s also good to relax a bit in your lunch break. I would recommend it’s a mid prince range here. All in all, it’s worth it to give it a try. Go for it and get your own impression. I like it!

Visited Barcomis Deli for Sunday brunch. We we're lucky to be seated within 5 minutes. Ordered vegetarian option with coffee. Selection of coffee available is very good. Food quantity is sufficient and it is tasty. Staff here is very good and helpful. Seating both indoor and outdoor. Reservation is recommended for Sunday.

Google
Great Selection of cakes, here, which was great place for a coffee lover like me. Tea selection was great as well. Had two kinds of cakes, one coffee and an English breakfast tea. can be hectic around lunch time. Spacious inside, can accommodate large groups. Local friendly, which means it is a great brunch cafe.

Location: “Barcomis Deli” is located in a courtyard in the Sophienstraße. It’s not that easy to find, but it’s worth! The atmosphere is cozy and sophisticated. Food and drink: the food is delicious. Bagels and cakes are tasty and there is a big choice of food and drinks. Coffee is good as well. Service: friendly and efficient. I really recommend Barcomis Deli ♥️

Google
Their cheesecakes are really delicious. I recommend the “tester plate” (you choose 4 different types of cakes from the menu, they give you a small slice of each to taste) for the people who cannot decide which cake to get. The place is very cosy and friendly, just a little bit noisy because of the acoustics of the place. But overall, one of the best “coffee&cake” themed café in town!

Google
Located away from the road in a calm courtyard with plenty of outdoor seatings. Service is Germany fast and effective and prices are good. They have soy milk for your latte and a few clearly marked vegan options on the menu.

Google
This place is the real deal. After some disappointing experiences in coffee shops, it was very refreshing to drink something that actually tasted like coffee. And the cakes... There's this tasting plate that comes with 4 "half slices" of your choice of cakes, but their idea of half is everyone else's idea of a normal slice, so the value for the money is crazy. I especially recommend the blueberry cheesecake.

Google
I'll be honest: we got there because of Sense8 😎 the place featured in one of the episodes, and my girlfriend is an absolute fan of the show. So we HAD to get there, obviously. We got here in the afternoon, for a hot drink an maybe a piece of cake. We ended up with a Chai Latte myself (superb) and a Ginger and lemon tea for her (very tasty). But instead of a piece of cake, we got ourselves the "tasting plate", with four different slices of freshly made cakes: one better than the other!! 😍 the place also is really suggestive, in that little area so into the city but feeling distant from it at the same time! If you're a fan of Sense8, or if you like cake, get there!

Yelp
The real discovery is not going to Starbucks or some bigass well known shop when you are visiting a city. For late breakfast / brunch.... whatever, I decided to check out some spots you can't find it at every corner and every mall. So I looked up on yelp. And I found Barcomi's Deli. It's very inconspicuous, cuz it's inside a courtyard. You cant really tell there is such a damn nice, cozy place unless you've founded already. So the price for the food is totally OK. I got me water and switched from hummus bagel sandwich to Club sandwich after the waitress recommended that. I really do like that place. It has a certain cozy, big city urban vintage family style that makes you wanna stay here longer or even come more often. Lucky me It was pretty empty when I got it and after an instant it was packed as hell. I wonder how people found that place haha. AND they have a lot of yummy fresh cakes, tarts. deserts and american cupcakes.

Yelp
Getting to Barcomis is fun experience on its own. From the street you won't be able to see this neat deli. You have to walk through a hall where you end up in a beautiful courtyard. There you'll find some outdoor seating and the entrance to the deli. The dining area is large, wrapping around the courtyard. Inside I looked at my options in the glass display and chose upon the Cherry Cheesecake and a coffee. It was nice and quiet with just enough sunlight coming in giving the place a tranquil atmosphere. Every piece I carved was just perfect. The ratio of crust to filling to cherry topping was on point! The texture of the main layer was rich and fluffy, almost too good with the cherry topping complementing it. Overall this was a wonderful experience and I look forward to returning to try out some of the other options at Barcomis!

Yelp
If you look at my yelp reviews one after another you'll see quite a trend lately. I have't fallen and hit my head, I am going through a very lucky spate of exploration at the moment. Another 5 stars because I honestly couldn't give this place anything else. Fresh mint with hot water poured over for the most refreshing tea accompanying a completely vegan double salad. You get to choose from the bowls in the cold cabinet and then combine 2 for a plate with bread roll, your chosen salads, side of greens, thin slice of toasted bread and candied nuts. Delicious, reasonably priced, definitely a winner for lunch.

Yelp
I ordered the Reuban and my wife ordered a mozzarella and tomato sandwich and they were just about perfect. The outside seating is a must if you want really get the full experience. Staff was quick and polite

Yelp
A New York-style deli tucked away in a courtyard, as if it were a natural oasis from the traffic of the city. There's a deep menu of coffees, teas and bagels, in addition to a hearty selection of fresh sandwiches and tempting cakes. I had a latte macchiato and a club sandwich, and both were unusually large and delicious. Like most of Berlin, the prices are cheap. Coffees are less than 3 EUR and sandwiches less than 7 EUR. A full meal for two people, tip included, shouldn't top out over 20 EUR.

Ali K.

Yelp
Barcomi's deli is the place to eat some sandwich, dessert, drink up your coffee and enjoy. I really love this place and whenever I go to Berlin I'm enjoying this lovely place.

Dominique F.

Yelp
The place itself is big but also pretty crowded esp during the afternoon hours. It calmed down after 6 I'd say. LOVED the brownie cheesecake. Chai was a good size but didn't stand out a 100%. Would still be back.

Maggi S.

Yelp
The place was nice, full of space and the service was very friendly! However I would say I am a bit disappointed because I read so many good reviews but the desserts weren't good enough a d not fresh too. Their taste was ok but it seems to me that they have been a long time outside. The tea selection was very interesting though.

Yelp
Worst experience in Berlin for us. We ordered "hot chocolate" and some bagels from the card. Instead of chocolate we received some milk with cocoa powder. I tried to recall it and the lady was very weird about the whole situation. First she didn't want to accept it than she started laughing at us and pointing fingers with her crew. Later she brought our food and some water. She didn't even open the bottle even though she did that for other people. So petty. When we were half way done with the food she very suggestively told us to "enjoy our meal" and run away. Clearly they tampered with it. She didn't say it to anyone else. Never coming back.

Yelp
A neighborhood kind of feeling. The outdoor patio allows for the perfect amount of natural light and is pleasant with its brick/vine. Certainly a great place to relax with a coffee. The food is what you'd expect a good NY deli to have. The sandwiches are gigantic! The club was easily enough for two (if you threw in a dessert). Not a bad helping for the price. The cheesecake is pretty good as well (but wasn't as amazed as the other reviewers). Overall, I advise grabbing a coffee+dessert and enjoying the outdoor patio.

Denise H.

Yelp
We had a great supper here. I had the salad combo...pick two salads and I am glad I did; both the chicken salad and curry lentil salads were delicious. We also had the sampling of four different cakes. My favorite was the walnut/chocolate torte. It is also a sweet courtyard location. So glad we found it.

Lukas O.

Yelp
Barcomi's Deli offers really delicious food, especially the bagles are worth trying! We normaly went there for brunch to start the day with a good load of energy. The remarkably good coffee boosts you up perfectly and the cinamon rolls (with butter!) and other bakeries make sure your stomach gets full. Still, there is a drawback, which hasn't changed since I've come there the first time in 2012: the long waiting time for ordering, food, and bill. Although the staff is nice and seems to care about their guests, there is still a lot of improvement to be done in that area.

Yaprak A.

Yelp
Very nice place with good service, good menu and very polite staff. The atmosphere in the alley is great during summer. Felt like Barcelona.

Ilkin I.

Yelp
Its location is really cool. You should try Marble cheesecake. It was good but a little bit overcrowded.

Jennifer H.

Yelp
I went here with some co-workers for lunch. The Deli is in a nice little area and has plenty of outdoor as well as indoor space. They have the regular bagels and sandwiches as well as some great lunch offers such as grilled cheese :) When I was there the staff was understaffed, so it's difficult to judge the service, but despite there only being 2 people, the food was still served pretty quickly. the grilled cheese was delicious and I would definitely eat it again. The only negative points I came across was that the salad was not properly washed, so it was pretty "crunchy" and the only have ketchup in little packets not a big bottle, so you constantly need to ask, as they give you only one.

Lauren V.

Yelp
Barcomi's ended up being my favorite dining experience in Berlin. We rode bikes through the side streets to hunt out this hidden brick courtyard deli, where you can wheel your bicycles right through and park them next to your table. A NY style deli, I couldn't not go for a fresh bagel with homemade cream cheese (you can get Philadelphia, but why would you??). And I added a lovely coffee from south America (they have info on their extensive coffee offerings on their website, score!). Husband got a quiche and a lemon tart. All cakes and treats are vegetarian friendly, without any animal fats or gelatin. (If you're lactose intolerant, gluten intolerant or vegan just ask, they are very on the up and up about that stuff). It was a little on the pricey side, but considering their quality of ingredients and in-house policy on making just about everything, I think it's worth it. Service was really friendly and it was just a really relaxing, atmospheric stop in our day

S. I.

Yelp
In Germany, the cake comes before dinner ... around 4pm afternoon Kaffee & Kuchen, but I could have had cakes and pastries at Barcomi's anytime of the day ... and during most of our stay, I did! My favorites were the NY cheesecake and carrot cake, but there are enough items on the menu to satisfy any/all sweet tooth. The atmosphere of the café is charming hidden inside the courtyard of Sophienhof, and I so enjoy strolling through the neighborhood, which was definitely necessary in working off all the sweets & caffeine I'd consumed.

Martin E.

Yelp
Such a lovely place! Located in one of the sophienhoefe, it seems to be a little bit out of sight, but no doubts about that! Great location, great breakfast with bagels and sandwiches with fresh ingredients. As a former coffee place of course the serve perfect coffee in all different kinds and types ;) but best at all- try one of the cakes!! REALLY REALLY GREAT! All a little bit more pricey but worth!!

Julia B.

Yelp
When I need a slice of Americana, I head straight for this bakery/cafe in Kreuzberg. Mmmmm....bagel sandwiches with hummus, or PB&J or tuna salad. Carrot cake, pecan pie, and cookies that makes my mouth water just thinking about them. The coffee is excellent and the atmosphere is decidedly hip and cool for Berlin. It can get busy but I have yet to figure out a pattern, except to say that afternoons between 1 and 3 will be packed.

Suzanne L.

Yelp
What a lovely restaurant. We both had the lox bagels for breakfast, which were scrumptious. The coffee was good too. I didn't partake, but I was happy to see lots of vegan, vegetarian, and gluten-free options on the menu. The courtyard must be a welcome respite from busy Hackescher Markt when it's nice out (it was raining when we went, so we didn't eat out there). Inside, it's pretty standard cafe seating, with some booths thrown in. Very cozy and nice lighting.

Ilias C.

Yelp
Small, authentic café with a large menu from breakfast to dinner. Good for breakfast but can get crowded.

Erin B.

Yelp
Mr Mann surprised with a trip to Barcomi's & some real bagels. We stopped by in the afternoon on a Saturday and - sadly! - our two 2 choices for bagel were out. SO many options - but we were really looking forward to onion & garlic. No matter. Some coffee and a bagel sandwhich made us feel just like home (USA). The coffee comes in a wide variety and the smell absoutely fills the room. As Seattlites, that smell is like crack for us. Mmmmmmmm! Desserts looked amazing & they had choclate chip cookies! We didn;t partake this time, but watch out cookies - I am coming for you.

Yelp
Stopped here for an afternoon coffee and cake. We both had the cheesecake (homemade) and couple of glasses of lattes. Was quite busy - even for a Tuesday early afternoon [don't people have to work?? ;-)] Overall, a nice little place for breakfast and cakes.

Qype User (theher…)

Yelp
Amazing cheesecake, all the food i had here was great infact. some tuna sandwich thingy was lovely and the coffee was good too. BUt it was all a bit pricey by berlin standards. but i guess you have to pay for quality. ITs a tourist hotspot and next to a bunch of galleries. worth a visit if you are in the area.

Janina D.

Yelp
We had lunch at Barcomi's Deli as we had gift vouchers. We chose a rucola salad with goat cheese, a devil's food cake and a banana cheesecake with blueberries. The salad was small compared to what you get in other restaurants for 7,90 EUR but it tasted well. In contrast to the salad the devil's cake was big and I think that it consists if about 5 butter packages, dyed with cocoa powder ;) But all of this is very delicious! My cheesecake was very nice too. I enjoyed our lunch and think that the deli is worth a visit.

Citizen K.

Yelp
I have been coming to Barcomis for years now and they keep raising prices to a ridiculous level. Their club sandwich (something i have been getting every Sunday for years..) costs 8€ now (take out price!). Bravo Barcomis, way to lose your regular visitors, i hope it was worth it. Never again.

Qype User (justis…)

Yelp
The jig is up on the undercover eatery for Berlin's famous. A couple of years ago nobody knew about this spot, now finding a table on any given day of the week seems to be a accomplishment. However, the waiting time is well rewarded. Barcomi's serves up good sandwiches, massive slices of cake and a decent tea selection. Healthy options are still on the table and most meals come with conservative portions of artery cloggers. So fitness freaks don't be put off. The staff is all about hustle and bustle, they get the food to your table fast and friendly. Sometimes mistakes are made but they are pretty quick to correct them. I have to agree with Joizee_HH about the Chai-tea though. The location could not be better, tucked away in a Hinterhof of Mitte. Art galleries surround and the noisy Mitte streets fade away once you step off the street.

Qype User (skypep…)

Yelp
The location is a bit hidden but it is such a cosy cafe. The offer a lot of American style food (bagels, sandwiches) and dessert (new york cheese cake, my favourite). Coffee and drinks are tasty. So I would recommend it!

Wim D.

Yelp
Nice place for sandwich or great cake! Take the probierteller which is 4 half pieces of cake so you can try!

Alina S.

Yelp
Wonderfully baked cakes and pastries. Barcomi's offers the full range - breakfast, brunch/lunch and afternoon chats over a good coffee/tea and a delicious piece of cake. As they have all different kinds of cakes you won't have to worry not to satisfy any tastes. Outside seating is wonderful when weather allows as it is based in a typical Berlin backyard, inside seating very American diner's alike- I personally prefer more cozy places (couches, armchairs, candlelight) but this is very much up to your own taste.

Qype User (Amselr…)

Yelp
This place comes highly recommended, so I was surprised when I ordered a brownie and a coffee that my brownie was nuked to high heaven and quickly became as hard as a rock soon after being served to me. I took 2 bites but it was really inedible. Service never checked on us and I did look for her to wave her down, but she was nowhere to be seen. Upon payment, I said I hated to complain, but explained about my brownie situation and it was clearly still sitting uneaten on my plate. The server simply said she'd pass it on, so I had to pay for an inedible baked good. Not to make a mountain of a molehill, but I was disappointed by the whole experience. I still gave 2 stars since my coffee was ok and I'd consider going back if someone offered to pay for my cake, but I wouldn't chance it with my money. There's a lot of other places to get cake in Berlin after all!

Qype User (jsinbe…)

Yelp
This comment doesn't relate to the food, which is truly fantastic and I've been here multiple times with very high food quality every time. This comment aims to point out the poor customer orientation of this morning's staff. I came with a friend and several empty tables had reservation signs on them. Nobody of the staff bothered to help us identify the next available table or at least would tell us sorry everything's booked until xy. We just felt we were a bothersome obstacle blocking the way. We then asked for coffee to go with the reply by one waitress to go to a different counter, reminding us at the same time in a very unfriendly tone but you CAN'T drink it here. All in all a very discouraging experience, hopefully they will realize at some point that this kind of attitude is detrimental in the long term.

Ezequiel P.

Yelp
A very cozy atmosphere with an excellent menu serving super fresh bread and bagels, cheese, salami etc. Super friendly staff.

Jurgen A.

Yelp
We enjoyed a great vegetarian brunch for two. Humus, caponata, lentils, everything was great. The coffee too.

Mike J.

Yelp
Had lunch there and got a giant reuben. Because of the bread it was very German (strong rye flavor) but this made it even better. Not a copy of an American reuben but a Berlin version. The menu was so Americanized that anyone could read it without problems. Wish we had saved room for some of the cakes for dessert.

Tom K.

Yelp
Great food but this place is always super busy that its either very hard to get a space or you always feel hassled while eating. Also a little expensive for what they serve which is mainly sandwiches.

Mark S.

Yelp
Ok the spot is nice yes but the customer experience is underwhelming. The quiche I got pre made, heated up in an microwave and the the ham looked white instead of pink. I suggested using a little oven instead of a microwave so that the dough stays crispy. That pissed them already of. Even as a German I had expected more.

Bb H.

Yelp
Pretty decent cakes and torts. Sandwiches and beverages are soso. Staff not the quickest and a little too in love with themselves. Can be comparatively pricey. Location makes up for it.

Stine M.

Yelp
Was disappointed in the bagel and the price were quite spicy compared to the food on your plate. Too loud and crowded

Zach G.

Yelp
Went here for brunch twice while in Berlin. Great place!! Really nice staff and the food is fantastic. Love it here.

Lina Z.

Yelp
Great environment. Love it. The bagel and coffee were great. But the devil's food cake is a little bit too loose .

Hannah V.

Yelp
This is a great place to grab some American desserts in the middle of Berlin. American style desserts are actually quite difficult to find in the city so this can be a nice little bit of nostalgia. Also love the location - Hackescher Hof is a really lovely little collection of shops.

Julien V.

Yelp
I'll never come back to Barcomi's after today. I just got ripped off for a few slices of salami, white bread with mayo, & pickles for €7+. Definitely going for a falafel next time. They asked me how it was & all they could say was sorry... Haha Don't ask if you can't own up to your shortcomings... Yeah 1 star cause it tasted exactly like I described, something I could make myself but not even as good. For that price I would have 4x the amount of food. This tasted like a sandwich from the place that charges €2 at the Alexanderplatz metro. A bratwurst from the street is phenomenally better than what I just ate

Qype User (varmin…)

Yelp
Great chocolate and regular cheesecake. This deli offers bagels, american-style sandwiches and traditional American pastries. Hidden a bit in a hof (watch for the small sign hanging in front of the streetside entrance to the hof ), the space is pleasant, though a bit crowded. My impression was that a lot of people consider this a special find, which kind of negates the idea, if you see what I mean.

D D.

Yelp
i love this deli. it can get loud & busy but the friendly staff will never make you feel anything less than welcome! the breads & bagels are delicious & the cakes are to kill for.

Qype User (Joizee…)

Yelp
Had a great Rueben sandwich. My g/f though had a dry, bland turkey sandwich. Further, she had carrot cake which was great. The chai latte's were good but unfortunately not the ones we orders (we wanted the powder based version). Further, waitstaff wasn't very welcoming for change requests to specific sandwiches and blatantly forgot one part of our order. The look and feel is Americana with a bit of diner flair. Hidden out back in one of Berlin's typical Innenhöfe. Maybe staff had an off day today and all in all the food was good but this led me to knock off two stars as the turkey was also forgettable. Maybe next time.

Qype User (rom2…)

Yelp
after the expansion it's much easier to find a place. Carrot Cake is the best in the whole world !

Lucas W.

Yelp
BE AWARE PEOPLE! Firstly, I was searching for good pancakes place in Berlin and the results forwarded me to Barcomi's Deli so I went there. When reading through the menu there was no such thing close to pancakes. I asked the waiter what is their best dish and he recommended the sandwiches which were between 7.20 to 10 euros. Me and my friend ordered two sandwiches . What we received was two slices of bread with some tomatoes, bacon and cucumber. Products with a price of not more than 3 euros for both dishes but we paid 20 euros... I was really disappointed with the quality, size and price of the food there. If you think of going there I recommend you to make it at home it will be 10 times better for sure.
