Barefoot at Havelock

We loved it here! The location, service, and vibes were amazing. Villas are amongst the trees and are clean and comfortable. You have access to a pristine, almost private beach with crystal clear water and softest sand. This is set up as a nature resort and it's done very well. Service is impeccable! Because the paths can be uneven, may not be the best place for people with mobility issues.

I had an extremely great experience at Barefoot. The staff were extremely hospitable, kind and welcoming. The hotel is extremely accessible to the rightly famous Radhanagar beach and the private section ensures that we get the privacy we want. Radhanagar beach is stunning. When I requested for a birthday cake, the staff were prompt and gave me exactly what I wanted. The room was extremely comfortable, rustic and natural. I would highly recommend this to everyone who wants to get a feel of the beach and forest atmosphere of Andaman.

Great beach near by .. lovely property in an amazing location . Kind of calm and relaxing place . Reception staffs and naturalist are very helpful. Cons : Stayed in a tented cottage , musty smell all over the room . Toilets are stained and old but clean . Mosquito mesh cover in the bed is dirty , I don’t think they wash it often ( not sure - just my assumption) . Restaurants - no buffet for breakfast, it’s not comfortable to call and order the complimentary items every time . Overall - Good stay , just management has to do few changes .

We (my wife and I) stayed at Barefoot at Havelock in mid-December, and it was an unforgettable experience. From the moment we arrived, we were captivated by the stunning location—an idyllic white sand beach to which it is a short 1 minute walk through lush jungles. The resort offers the perfect blend of nature and comfort, making it the ideal place to disconnect from the hustle and bustle of daily life.||The accommodation, a tented cottage (which we picked), was incredibly cosy and comfortable, providing a luxurious stay with a deep connection to the environment. While the rooms are not equipped with high-speed WiFi (speeds are still decent) or televisions (which we found refreshing as a break from technology), they are equipped with all the essentials for a peaceful and rejuvenating stay. The eco-friendly design of the tented cottage was remarkable, and the shower area is also spacious. You truly feel at one with nature, yet the accommodation is well-built to ensure your privacy and safety.||The real highlight of our stay was the exceptional service. From the property manager, Hari, to the entire team—Front Office, F&B, and service staff—everyone went above and beyond to ensure our stay was seamless. A special mention to Reuben, the in-house naturalist, who led us on incredible early-morning bird watching walks and shared his wealth of knowledge about the local flora and fauna; he also guided us through the Elephant Beach Trek and helped organize a few activities on Elephant Beach. Extremely resourceful! Sushmitha and Swathi were helpful with bike rentals and activity suggestions, and Shravan, Dev, Wohit, Jagan, and Suresh, along with the many others I cannot name, made every interaction a memorable one. Their genuine warmth and attention to detail added so much to our experience.||One of the must-do activities is watching the sunset at Radhanagar Beach—though we were unlucky with the weather during our stay and missed it on all four days, the atmosphere around sunset time is still magical. And don’t forget to enjoy a cup of lal chai by the beach!||If I had to mention one small downside, it would be the spa experience, which we found a bit underwhelming. However, this did not in any way detract from the overall incredible experience that we had, and we can still very confidently give this 5 stars.||Barefoot at Havelock is a true gem—perfect for those looking to reconnect with nature, enjoy fantastic service, and escape from the daily grind. We can’t wait to return to this property and enjoy some fabulous experiences again!

A Misleading Experience – Honest Review The way this resort has been marketed is misdirectional, to say the least—and that’s an understatement. Nowhere in their descriptions on Booking.com or other platforms do they truly reflect the real experience of staying here. This property is set on acres of mangrove forest, which in itself is a unique experience, but crucial details are not disclosed upfront: • No room service or in-room dining • No direct calls to reception • There are no proper lights around the property, so you have to use torches to navigate at night. • Insects, toads, and spiders in and around the rooms are common (I found a spider in my bed at 6 AM). • Despite being marketed as a 4-star property, there is no pool (though I acknowledge that was an assumption on my part). Upon arrival, our room was moldy, with a strong pungent smell. The bedsheets were damp from the moisture, and it took over an hour of blasting the AC and fan just to make the room somewhat breathable. For our second night, we upgraded to their cottage at ₹20,000 per night, expecting a better stay. Instead, in the middle of the night, the roof started leaking, soaking our bed in dirty rainwater during a storm. We had no way to reach the staff due to the lack of any in-room phone system. The next morning, when we reported this, we were casually told, “You could have called from your private phones.” Mind you, we were never informed that this was the process. Our checkout experience was frustrating—it took 45 minutes because the receptionist couldn’t reconcile the bills, with a ₹3,500 discrepancy. In the end, we had to calculate everything ourselves and correct the final amount, all while expressing our urgency since we had another booking to catch. The Positives • The food is excellent—the restaurant and bar have a great selection. • The vibe of the sitting area is beautiful. • The beaches are clean and well-maintained. • The staff is kind and well-meaning, though not efficient. Final Thoughts I hope the property takes constructive feedback from this. All I expect is transparency—accurately portray the experience guests are signing up for instead of overselling luxury that does not exist. Travelers deserve to make an informed choice rather than be misled by marketing. Would I return? Only if I knowingly choose an eco-experience, not expecting a luxury resort. Thank you.

One of the lovely places that we stayed for New Years - Great experience, great place to stay, great hospitality, Serene, Right on the best beach of Asia (Radhanagar Beach). In fact the location at which this resort is there is not crowded at all (Slightly away from the public entry of the beach). New Years eve was also very well managed. They are very professional and had a lifetime experience underwater. Special kudos to Jobin and Vidhut who took us underwater and Avtar for underwater photography. In fact, I would like to specially thanks Vidhut for singing Kishore Kumar songs underwater at 11 metres below - That was a fascinating moment - He song 5-6 songs underwater - Truly awesome.||Lastly, Sumit, owner of Barefoot, who was there for the New Years eve driving the whole event by himself and making sure everything goes well. Whole stay was amazing experience! |The beach was the best beach we have ever been! |They have lots of activities, we joined night walk and bird walk in the morning, which we saw snakes, crabs, animals and bird which is Andaman species. And guide was real animal lover with lots of knowledge. |Restaurant has lots of options so young children can enjoy. |It is really hidden gem, and good facilities with lots of care for nature.

Excellent experience. We had a very memorable stay. The staff took care of every need and made the experience memorable and special. |We celebrated our daughter’s first birthday in this resort. They surprised us with their gestures like the decorations in the room and also arranged a beautiful setup on the beach ensuring a very personalised celebration.
