Barefoot Beach Bar

Tried this place out on a recommendation from another couple we snorkeled with. Very glad we did! Excellent food and drinks. Good staff, loud atmosphere but had live music nights. I had the stir-fry and never before have I enjoyed veggies so much. Husband had spicy cilantro chicken Salbutes and they were very good. Dont forget the smoked mackerel dip to share! We put down plenty of coconut coolers, drinks were tasty and very well made. Update: came back again for the enchilada grande, burrito and salvutes lunch, and drinks. Let me be clear - BEST food, drinks, and staff in Placencia. Dont miss this place, its amazing!

Such a fun and picturesque place, we went here twice! Beachside views are amazing. Sit along the beach, at large tables with a group, or find a spot near the kitchen/bar and under the shade. So many unique drink options. During my visits, I ordered a Jalapeno Hibiscus Margarita and a Papaya Colada. Both were delicious, but the colada was off the charts! My lobster quesadilla was very good, too.

Stopped here for our first meal as soon as we arrived in Placencia. Great atmosphere and food, friendly staff. Definitely try the lobster grilled cheese. We liked it so much we came back for it a few days later.

On the beach. How does it get any better. Smoked fish dip was pretty amazing. Beers were cold and rum selection was excellent.

Exactly what I pictured when I booked my trip to Placencia. Many local catch options, designer interior with so many colors you feel like you’re in a Barbie movie. Super friendly staff and food that didn’t disappoint. Would go here every day if I live here.

Great spot to get in away from sun. Bartenders are good, drinks are good. It feels very touristy but we still enjoyed it. Fish nachos were great!

We took an excursion for two hours here to the town which was amazing. The beach and this bar was actually very cool. When we were seated we waited a couple minutes and were greeted with menus and put in a drink order. Drinks were great but we waited for quite awhile before one of the bartenders came over to take our order. Once our order was in we waited quite some time and realized we had less than 45 minutes to get back to the boat. Our food still wasnt out so we notified the bartender we would have to cancel the order since it had taken so long. They tried to bring us our food in to go containers which we declined since you cant eat on the boat. After a lot of back and forth I talked to a woman (im assuming the owner) who asked what happened? I explained my side and was basically called a liar. She told me we were the type of people who give "cruise people" a bad name. So basically they resolved the issue but blamed us for causing the issue. Ultimately they all knew we were on the cruise line and also knew every group had limited time to enjoy the town. Even the street vendors acknowledged our short time there when asking us to buy items. Im happy with the resolution but could have gone without the owner scolding me and trying to insult me. Hurling insults back at this woman would be super easy but I won't stoop to her level. Crappy part of this whole thing is that the place was awesome and I really wanted to try what I ordered. Maybe another time since we are considering buying property in Placentcia. Also, this bar had a table full of locals that would rotate moving around the bar to sell items. They were very polite but will interrupt your table several times to sell. If this bothers you there might be other options that are better. Im giving a 3 given the situation but certainly should go lower based on the nasty attitude of the owner. Running a business is hard and maybe she was having a rough day.

Barefoot Beach Club is an absolute must-visit in Belize! Located right on the beach, the vibe is perfectly relaxed, with the sound of the ocean creating a calming backdrop to your meal. The restaurant offers a massive menu, which is fantastic if you're looking for variety, but no matter what you order, you're in for a treat. What truly makes this place stand out, though, is the service – and specifically, Wendy! We ended up going twice during our stay because Wendy was just that amazing. She has such a fun, welcoming energy that instantly makes you feel at home. Her sense of humor was infectious; I’ll never forget the moment she spilled ketchup everywhere – her reaction was so funny, it made the whole thing even more memorable. It’s clear that Wendy is loved by everyone around town. She’s not only kind and funny but genuinely cares about the people she works with. She’s the type of person who makes you feel like part of the family, and she made our experience at Barefoot Beach Club even more special. You can tell she’s passionate about what she does, and that energy is contagious! As for the food, it was absolutely perfect. Whether you’re looking for seafood, grilled dishes, or something from their massive menu, everything we tried was top-notch. The relaxed atmosphere, combined with perfect food and even better service, makes this place a winner. Highly recommend Barefoot Beach Club if you want great food, a fun atmosphere, and a memorable experience. And be sure to ask for Wendy – she’ll make your visit unforgettable!
