Google
Great coffee, tunes, people watching, open windows with fresh air. Wonderful spot if you, like me, need a calm place to retreat amongst the buzz of Manly. I get the sense Tom puts a lot of love into his shop and the people he serves. Great business to support.

I recently had the pleasure of trying out barefoot coffee and quickly it became my favourite spots for dessert in Manly. We ordered waffles, flat white and long black. Everything was delicious. Great vibes, coffee definitely coming back for hot chocolate.

Google
Great coffee, delicious waffles & a wonderful selection of cakes and cookies all with a home made style, my personal fav is the polenta cake with berries & the banana bread

Google
One of the best roasts in Sydney, let alone Manly. Smooth, strong coffee. Protein balls actually list ingredients and are soft and wholesome as expected. Top notch.

Google
Quite possibly the best bacon and egg roll I have ever had. 14 and 18 year old with my wife and I for breakfast, 18 year old went back for seconds on the waffle. Great atmosphere, lovely friendly staff.

Yelp
Such good iced coffee. And I'm not talking about the delicious, creamy atrocity Aussies call iced coffee, I'm talking about coffee. With ice in it. It's an art, people! (They also have an 8-hour cold drip should you so desire.) The shop is tiny, but if you're lucky enough to snag a stump you'll be privy to some of the most amusing customer conversations. Hungry? They were whipping up waffles last time I was there. But don't get your tastebuds in too much of a tizzy, it's just waffles, so if that's what you want, consider yourself a winner. If not, well, tough luck. But let's be honest, you're heading here for the coffee because it's undoubtably Manly's best, whether hot or cold. And hey, I'm sure they'll even put the ice cream in there if you ask nicely. Just don't ask for decaf. Or larges.

Yelp
These guys are serious about coffee. Whether it's a doppio espresso or cold drip, you can always count on a great coffee. The menu is simple: Coffee in one size. No large. No decaf. Waffles with optional chocolate. Because they do it simple, they do it well. The waffles are freshly made as you order. The chocolate is freshly melted Belgian chocolate. The coffee is either their standard blend, or a single origin that rotates every few days - and they are fastidious about how they make it. The actual café is just a hole in the wall with a few boxes & logs that serve as stools. The popularity of this spot ensures an intimate buzz and more often than not, a friendly conversation with the locals. Well worth a visit.

Yelp
An awesome little café / coffee specialist. Not very big, but very friendly with a pretty suave, rustic feeling to it, this place sells various types of coffee by the cup, or in bean form. Taste it in store, then you can take it with you home to have when ever you want. They sell waffles too. But you cant take the mix with you. Or maybe you can, I didn't ask. They're pretty accommodating in there, friendly too, they might just do it. Either way, it feels like a clique sort of place. If you don't have one when you start going, after a while you might. It's a cool little place, hidden away, but worth finding. If you're a coffe person, definately come and have a look!

Yelp
Best coffee I've had while in Sydney. I was so happy with my mocha that I went back 2 hours later (after spending some time on the beach) to get another one. Highly recommend them if you're visiting Manly beach

Yelp
Ok, I know everyone is going to hate me, but this place is not special. It is alright, but not worth the raving reviews that it has received. I went to Barefoot expecting awesome coffee, but I didn't get it. The best thing about this place is the space itself. I would have given this place only 2 stars if it wasn't for the layout and the space. You get to sit on couches with blankets - and in winter, trust me the blankets are a God send. But the coffee is quite average. They serve Toby's Estate, and I generally not a fan of Toby's. If you are going to serve Toby's Estate then you better be making that cup damn well. And this cup was not. I tried more than once, but I just wasn't impressed with the coffee. They also serve waffles and other small things - they are nice but again nothing to rave about. Sorry for those who love this place, but maybe I should go with a fan and see what they love about this place.

Yelp
Easy to miss especially with another coffee shop across the road blaring music and distracting one from their coffee mission. Staff were friendly, and coffee was delicious. The shop is quite small, so probably not too much room for having a cup in a peak times, but when you can have your cup takeaway to enjoy at the beach, does that really matter? Prices seemed on par with other shops in the area. Would definitely stop in if I make it back to Manly.

Yelp
Nice little coffee shop, and close to the council car park I use most often in Manly. They do Toby's Estate, which is decent enough coffee for most, though I know a few high-end snobs who turn up their noses at it. For most of it, it's quite good. This is a tiny little coffee shop, and most of their business is takeaway. There are a few low stools ringing the small single room but those are mostly taken by people waiting for their takeaway coffee. And it's down a side street, so it's not like you've got a great view anyway if you stay. Staff are very cheery and pleasant. I think they have pastries and munchy things too, but to be honest I've only ever had a coffee to go, which is what this place is perfect for.

Yelp
Go here and drink a coffee. Black or with milk, both are always amazing. Also eat a waffle and get it covered in melted Belgian chocolate. The staff are always lovely, and they know their stuff. They are serving fresh coconuts now which taste like they've been plucked from the Godliest island of heaven. And I hear that a Bircher muesli is in the works. Just go. And drink some stuff. And eat some stuff. Best coffee in Manly.

Yelp
Toby's Estate served correctly. A small waffle made to order. Prices alright for Sydney ($10 for coffee and waffle). Small shop open to the elements (see other reviewers' photos). Friendly, fast service. There's not much more to it. It's nice, it's not a tourist trap, but it's not a "destination" (like Mecca or the Grounds) which I thought it would be considering its ranking on all review sites for the Manly area including top 10, and sometimes top ranking, in Beanhunter. Just setting expectations.

Yelp
I'm a big fan of the coffee at Barefoot. Also famous for its waffles, it's the caffeine that really has me coming back... and the hot chocolate which is absolutely divine. Barefoot is a small little cafe, so if you were looking for a spot to spread your newspapers out and hang out in for hours, I'd recommend grabbing a take away and heading to the beachfront. If you want to stay and sit down with your coffee inside, the window seats are hot property. They also only serve one size for take away coffees, which is fine for me - you can always go back for seconds!

Yelp
The best Belgium chocolate mocha I've ever had. Possibly the best mocha I've ever had 10/10

Yelp
Knew there was something special about this place when my kids got themselves independently onto their bicycles last school holidays to ride all the way to Manly simply to go to Barefoot. Why?? They don't even drink coffee! But aaahhhh ... those waffles. Chocolate-dripping hot crispy batter to die for. The cafe is small, and it's usually packed, but squeeze yourself in past the pram park and the lined-up surfboards - it's worth the effort. Oh, and yes, speaking from an adult perspective, the coffee is damn fine too. In fact, it's perfect for washing down a waffle!

Yelp
Friendly, cool, excellent coffee! Everyone should try a real Belgium Mocha from this place, it will change your life!

Yelp
Great mocha made with Belgian melted chocolate and amazing discovery: salted caramel milk... Yes it tastes exactly like it sounds - delicious!

Yelp
The best coffee in the area for sure. Tiny hole in the wall with mostly passing locals. Serious coffee and seriously good. Forget Starbucks or Gloria Jeans fancy "coffee". No decaf. No large. No small. No flavored syrup. Just good quality coffee. Oh and their Belgian chocolate anything is amazing.

Yelp
Friendly customer service and love the hole in the wall feel to it (given that it is!). Great coffee and nice to see they don't sell large as it tells me it's all about enjoying the coffee flavour. Would consider trying the Belgium hot chocolate next time I'm in Manly.

Yelp
Amidst Manly's one million and ten different cafes, something about Barefoot Cafe stands out. It could be its size - smaller than the average suburban kitchen. It could be the friendliness of the proprietor and his often present infant. It might be the amazingly tasty waffles on offer. Or it could be a combination of these things, creating an unpretentious and chilled out vibe. Barefoot Cafe is a Manly institution, a place that locals ride their bikes to on Saturday morning for a coffee and a chat. It's always full to bursting, a direct result of its size; less than ten people can sit comfortably within the confines of a tiny, tiny room like this. Which is probably why the cafe employs one staff member on top of the owner, and it feel a bit like home; going to a cafe where the staff knows your name is pretty special. The size of the cafe is also why most people opt for the takeaway option, particularly on sunny days. Given the limited range of food and drinks on offer - uh, that would be coffee, tea and waffles - it's quite simple to make your choice of coffee, grab a waffle and head for the sunshine. A quick warning - do not go there if you're on a diet/trying to avoid chocolate/coeliac. The waffles are seriously tempting; the last time I was there, I ate three! And I was on a «healthy eating kick» at the time. Although small and often crowded, with minimal choice on the drinks menu and none at all on the food one, The Barefoot Cafe plays to its strengths and has since retained a loyal customer base that just keep coming back.
