I visited Barefoot Garden Café in Colombo, and it was honestly one of the best café experiences I’ve had — a true 10/10! I ordered the lamb burger with yogurt and mint, which was perfectly seasoned and so satisfying. The spinach quiche was equally delicious, and the crème brûlée was just divine — rich with the perfect touch of sweetness. What made me especially happy was finding milk tea served with condensed milk — something so rare these days, and it felt like home ❤️ The service was friendly and helpful. It took a little effort to get attention at first, but once I did, the staff gave great recommendations and were happy to find replacements or offer solutions when asked. The ambience was calm and welcoming. The café is part of the larger Barefoot brand, which includes a boutique selling beautiful souvenirs, clothing, and even a bookshop — all high-quality products at fair prices. Some might find it slightly expensive, but the quality truly justifies the cost. The nearby toilet was also clean and well-equipped, which I appreciated. I loved that the café is tucked away from the hustle and bustle of the city — it’s in an enclosed area, quiet and private, which makes it perfect for a relaxed afternoon. Overall, Barefoot Garden Café is an absolute gem — peaceful atmosphere, wonderful food, and a unique concept that combines culture, shopping, and dining all in one place. Highly recommend this spot for anyone visiting Colombo!

✅ Part of the famous Barefoot boutique. ✅ Food is delicious, wide variety to select. ✅ Easy accessibility and parking available. ✅ Spacious. ⚠️️ Staff need more training on serving the customers. ⚠️️ Price of food and beverage are bit high. ⚠️️ Should focus more on maintenance and cleanliness, specially because the tabels are arranged outdoors. 🟢 Recommended

This place has a cozy and welcoming atmosphere with a strong cultural vibe. The food from the kitchen is tasty, and the overall ambiance is pleasant. The staff is friendly, the service is good, and the menu offers something for everyone at a fair price. If you're interested in art, you can also visit the Barefoot Gallery nearby. The place has a nice mix of classic and authentic charm. It's a good spot for anyone who appreciates art and a relaxed setting.

We ate here twice and couldn’t fault the quality of the food, it was some of the freshest we had had across Sri Lanka and it was great to get generous portions of grilled meat and vegetables within the dishes. The food is on the more expensive side compared to other cafe’s, but warranted.

What a charming cafe, conveniently located just a stone's throw from the beach! You'll find a wonderful array of handmade and local treasures to explore here, which are beautiful even just to admire. The cafe itself is expertly designed, feeling like a private tropical escape. And the food? Comforting and incredibly tasty!

This was such a serene and wonderful place to visit! Barefoot Garden Cafe had some delicious vegan options and a lovely area to sit and eat. I always say this about Sri Lanka - the hospitality and kindness there is amazing and nothing compares to it! Servers are so helpful and friendly! They also had a beautiful art gallery to visit, a cute book store that I bought a few great books from. I live in Canada and I saw on their website that you can arrange for international shipping so I will be buying more books, I love reading Sri Lankan literature. They also had a clothing, souvenir and fabrics store. Barefoot has my heart and I will be visiting there again when I come back to Sri Lanka.

Overall, this place is pretty cool for anyone who enjoys cozy vibes. It has a strong cultural atmosphere, which I really love. The food from their kitchen is delicious, but definitely not worth the price—it’s way overpriced. However, if you’re a fan of cozy spots with authentic architecture, it’s still worth a visit.

Their lunch special menu (on lunch board every day) is fantastic, lots of curries and delicious things to chose from. Extensive drink menu. The cafe itself is beautiful, and the staff are very friendly and prompt with service.
