It's been one of this essential Colombo experience! The food here is great, love the ambiance and decorations all around. There is a part where it functions like an art gallery. A part thag sells their famous products made frok cotton. A good selections of books and art works on sales. Do buy their nice stuff toys made from cotton, in various shapes and sizes. They sell clothing too, it bear the iconic look, people can recognize them from this gallery. This is one of the places I get gifts for friends.

A must visit spot in Colombo. Service is 100/10- Never disappoints. The staff are literally amazing and I’ve never been to another establishment with such attentive workers- they make you feel really looked after. Food is amazing as well. Priced a bit more on the pricier end but worth it for the atmosphere and outdoor vibe. Unfortunately did not take any pics of the food but the Pork curry is a must try.

What made me especially happy was finding milk tea served with condensed milk — something so rare these days, and it felt like home ❤️ The service was friendly and helpful. It took a little effort to get attention at first, but once I did, the staff gave great recommendations and were happy to find replacements or offer solutions when asked. The ambience was calm and welcoming. The café is part of the larger Barefoot brand, which includes a boutique selling beautiful souvenirs, clothing, and even a bookshop — all high-quality products at fair prices. Some might find it slightly expensive, but the quality truly justifies the cost. The nearby toilet was also clean and well-equipped, which I appreciated. I loved that the café is tucked away from the hustle and bustle of the city — it’s in an enclosed area, quiet and private, which makes it perfect for a relaxed afternoon. Overall, Barefoot Garden Café is an absolute gem — peaceful atmosphere, wonderful food, and a unique concept that combines culture, shopping, and dining all in one place. Highly recommend this spot for anyone visiting Colombo!

What makes the experience even better is the attentive and friendly staff. The service is excellent, making sure you feel welcome and well looked after from the moment you sit down. The undisputed highlight is the Sunday Jazz evening. There is nothing quite like enjoying a meal and a drink under the stars while listening to fantastic live music. We visited Barefoot Garden Cafe on the last day of our stay in Colombo and we’re sad we had to leave early to catch our flight! We visited on Sunday, which seemed the busiest day since they have live jazz in the afternoons. It was packed, but we managed to get a seat within a few minutes. They didn’t seem to have a lot of staff, but they were doing a good job of seeing all tables. The cafe’s vibe is very calm - spacious backyard area with greenery, and the jazz totally enhanced the vibe. They have a lovely store and art gallery as well. They sell a wide variety of items - books, handmade clothes and ornaments, skincare, tea, etc. Some are a bit pricey, but their quality is good. Would recommend swinging by for an afternoon if you’re in Colombo!
