Barefoot Quota is a hidden gem that offers a delightful experience. From the moment I arrived, I was captivated by the charming atmosphere and beautiful surroundings. The staff is exceptionally welcoming, always ready to assist with a smile and provide helpful recommendations about the area. The accommodations are cozy and well-appointed, creating a perfect blend of comfort and style. I especially appreciated the attention to detail in the décor and cleanliness of the space. What truly sets Barefoot Quota apart is its commitment to sustainability and the local community, making it a perfect choice for eco-conscious travelers. The on-site dining options were delicious, showcasing local flavors that enhanced my overall experience. In summary, Barefoot Quota is a fantastic destination for those seeking relaxation, friendly service, and a touch of local culture. I highly recommend it to anyone looking to unwind and enjoy a unique getaway!

Well and truly deserving of the 5 stars, from the second we got there the staff greeted and treated us like family, constant smiling, very polite and very accommodating. I would go here again just to see all the staff who were all amazing, so warm, friendly and welcoming and it was from the top down too. The resort managers were mingling with the staff and tourists alike. You could tell all the staff were very happy with their bosses and you could just feel the love all around. The bull shark dive was an incredible experience that has 100% become a core memory. The coral reef right on the beach is extremely vibrant, you can grab some free snorkel gear and go right off the beach. Even just sitting in the waves on the beach will have schools of fish and even some baby reef sharks swimming right around you. It is unreal how vibrant and alive the beach / coral is. Rooms were a lovely location, right on the beach with the ocean breeze coming in was amazing but an aircon would've been nice for those hot still nights. I would recommend around 4 full days to experience everything the island has to offer. If you go I recommend taking part in the Kava ceremony on Saturday night where once again they treat you like a member of their family. Special shoutout to Illi, Soni, Charlotte, Akul(Guitar + village tour) and Semi ❤️

Has such an amazing time and overall experience at this resort. We were there for 6 nights and became close with the staff, and they made us feel like family. I loved how they played music for everyone every lunch and dinner, they welcomed and said hello every day with big smiles, always checked in with our day and honestly such a great cultural resort. We loved all the staff, but special shout out to Soni, Semi, Akul and Illi who were always keeping our company with their vibrant happy selves. We did the bull shark dive, and trust me you need to do this, it was such an amazing experience. The dive staff were amazing too, so friendly, and always welcomed us with smiles and chats. The reef was so beautiful, vibrant and full of life. Special shout out to Charlotte (shark biologist) who we got on really well with too. I Would highly recommend going here and would absolutely revisit here. Thank you to all at barefoot, you made our first week of our honeymoon so memorable, stress free, and enjoyable. Our visit to Barefoot Kuata Island was nothing short of extraordinary, especially thanks to their incredible dive center. My wife and I came for the shark experience — I went diving with sharks, and she went snorkeling with sharks — and we both had the time of our lives! It’s hard to put into words how thrilling and awe-inspiring it is to be in the water alongside these majestic creatures, all while feeling completely safe and supported by such a professional and friendly team.||From the moment we arrived, everyone was so warm, welcoming, and organized. Even when we almost missed our boat for the one-day trip, the staff went above and beyond to help us out — they were patient, kind, and made sure we didn’t feel bad about. That level of care and understanding really set the tone for the whole day.||A huge shout-out to Mar and Aldo, who I believe are the managers of the dive center. These two are absolute A+++ professionals. They not only made the dive itself flawless, but they also helped me out personally — drying my suit, fixing my diving hoses (my mistake!), and even getting my bag ready when I was running late. It’s rare to meet people who are so genuinely helpful, caring, and passionate about what they do. Mar and Aldo are truly one in a million!||The Fijian people as a whole are some of the kindest and most welcoming people we’ve ever met. From the transfer team to the restaurant staff — everyone greeted us with big smiles and open hearts. The food was excellent, the service was seamless, and the atmosphere on the island was pure paradise.||This was more than just a diving trip — it was an unforgettable experience that reminded us how special human connection and natural beauty can be when combined. We can’t wait to return, and we’ll definitely be recommending Barefoot Kuata Island Dive Center to anyone heading to Fiji.||Five stars all the way! 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

Went for the day to swim with sharks. The ferry ride out was smooth and didn't feel like two hours. The shark snorkeling was fun but went by too fast. There were a lot of fish but only about 5 sharks all black tip reef sharks. They did get with in an arm's reach of me but touching is prohibited, for good reason. The dive crew were friendly and helpful and very informative.

We only had 1 night here, but tried to make the most of it.||This is apparently the only place in the world to dive with bull sharks as a total beginner. If id have known that before going, i may have ensured we stayed longer to do it. ||We received a very in-depth onboarding by the team, with cold towels and welcome drinks too. We stayed in a tent bure and were unsure if wed be comfortable. Fortunately the temperature inside was fine, but the door was only secured with a latch and padlock, and the sliding front doors didnt actually fully close. I dont think anyone outside was peeping but it could have felt more private. The outdoor bathroom is reached via a door at the back, with an indoor toilet between a sink and shower. There were no bugs or uninvited houseguests, though.||Outside our bure was 2 loungers and a hammock beneath trees, providing a shaded place to relax. The beach and incredible views are seen through the trees. ||There are 3 small pools beside the restaurant/bar area but had little shaded areas there. The food was very good.||The diving is very well ran by Aldo. Plenty staff who all seem very experienced with all levels of swimmers/snorkellers/divers. Rex, Dua and Joey took us out to snorkel with reef sharks which was very cool. You are in good hands here.||We also had an informative talk on sharks by Charlotte and a guided snorkel out front where we saw a turtle.||The younger travellers here are mostly insufferable and try-hard, made a little more annoying due to the small footprint of the resort itself - rather unavoidable. Alas...

We loved Barefoot Kuarta. We stayed in two other resorts in Fiji and the staff were definitely the friendliest at BK, particularly Sal, the manager, the chef (sorry I can’t remember your name), and Va in the restaurant. Many reviewers have mentioned the views and the glorious beach, it is worth the visit just for that, but the staff are the icing on the cake so genuinely warm and welcoming. The dive centre is excellent, special shout out to Iostefa, (I hope I have spelt your name correctly) who lead two of my dives. It is worth doing the bull shark dive but other dives are great too, coral is in good shape and on my three dives I saw reef sharks and turtles, I suggest spending at least two days to get a few dives in. It would also be a good place to learn, diving very chilled and all the dive team are very kind and professional. We have one observation which we hope is helpful for other travellers; we stayed in a garden cottage, it was perfectly spacious, and clean but these cottages have no loungers and the garden area is very barren in the dry season. I did not chose a beach bura as I thought the beach would be full of day visitors, as other reviewers had mentioned the resort being crowded in the day, but we did not notice the day guests at all, there is a large separate day guest area. We were here in mid October so maybe it is different in peak season. The communal gardens round the pools have a lot of loungers although there is limited shade; the beach buras have loungers and some shade and we wished we had spent the extra money and got a beach bura. But whatever accommodation you have this resort is definitely worth it, thank you team Barefoot Kuarta, you’re the best.

I want to leave the biggest recommendation for the bull sharks awakening dive. It was the best experience ever, couldn’t have felt more safe and comfortable, the team was outstanding, everything was organised perfectly and at no time I felt unprotected. Y’all go out there and do it, the only place in the world that offers this kind of dive, protecting sharks and humans and having this surreal experience!
