An Unforgettable Island Escape! Barefoot Kuata Island Resort is an absolute paradise! From the moment we arrived, we were welcomed into a warm and friendly environment that made us feel right at home. The staff are incredible—so kind, welcoming, and genuinely passionate about ensuring every guest has the best experience. The food is fresh, delicious, and full of flavour, with plenty of variety to keep things exciting each day. The stunning ocean views are unbeatable, and the entire resort has this beautifully laid-back, eco-friendly vibe that allows you to truly disconnect and immerse yourself in nature. The highlight of our trip? The shark diving experience! Getting up close with these majestic creatures in their natural habitat was absolutely breathtaking—an adventure we’ll never forget. If you're looking for a mix of relaxation, adventure, and genuine Fijian hospitality, Barefoot Kuata is the place to be. Can’t wait to return! 🌴🐠🦈

I spent 5 nights here, in one of their “glamping” tent bures. Lots of room, comfy queen size bed , ceiling fans in both sleep area, and, the bathroom. No AC, but, the bures are right on the beach, and, the winds were delightful! They charge a flat rate for 3 meals a day, which was very reasonable. Bar prices were reasonable, too. Great snorkeling right off the beach. Staff were Fijians who lived on the neighboring island. Everyone was lovely!! Nice hike to Summit for an incredible view. I did the Bull shark dive; exciting and well run. Wi-Fi was available in the reception and bar/restaurant area only. They had 4 types/levels of bures. One type accommodated 10 in bunk beds!

Absolutely loved our stay in Barefoot Kuata! The staff made us feel right at home and introduced us to some elements of Fijian culture! Room was extremely comfortable and looked right out onto the beach for the perfect sun rise every morning! One of the highlights of our stay was doing the scuba diving with bull sharks! Semi was our leading instructor and along with his spectacular team, showed us absolutely everything we’d need to know as well as helped us along the way! This gang are exceptional at what they do and the experience was mind blowing! Will be recommending to all our friends for sure! Vinaka!

Stayed mid-November and had beautiful weather, great sea conditions etc and an overall enjoyable stay. Stayed in a garden bure for 4 nights and did the bull shark dive, reef shark snorkel, as well as went snorkling and had a shore dive. Loads of great sealife right on your doorstep and good dive shop/operations. Enjoyed the food, I mostly only had the lunches/dinner (as I skip breakfast) and was never disappointed! Lunches were buffet style and suitable for me (I don't eat carby food) and a la carte dinners were always delicious. Another plus for me was that the bar stocked Vonu extra low carb beer, so catered very well for my needs all round! Loved my stay and would definitely recommend and hope to return!

My stay at Barefoot Kuata was absolutely amazing! The dorms did the job but there’s no ac and the beds are rickety. But the real reason to stay is the reef shark snorkel and bull shark dive! The team is amazing at making everyone feel safe and comfortable. I loved the experience and I would recommend it to anyone!

Incredible spot. The location Lone is worth the journey. Add to that the great service, food and experience and it's a no brainer. The bill shark dive is a definite go, even for inexperienced divers and the house reef is beautiful!

It really is paradise on earth! I can only recommend. My friend and I were only there for a day trip, but were so in awe of the place that we ended up staying for 3 nights and even did our open water certification. I have to add that it was low season and a cyclone was passing by so we even got upgraded from a luxury tent to one of the little huts and both were really nice designed with everything you need. Our luggage was still on main island, but thanks to the amazing, fun and nice reception team (Lemeki) we actually received it the next morning. The people and community, the peacefulness of the island, the food, the music all day every day (shoutout to Semi). If you have a chance to go, pls go, you won’t regret it. It’s the perfect detox you didn’t know you needed. Plus, there are amazing people from all over the world so you will never feel alone. PS: the diving team is amazing as well, the do bull shark diving and as mentioned various certifications, Sefo was an amazing instructor.

Barefoot Kuata is quite the paradise! Had a wonderful time staying here for one night and I wish I had gotten to stay much longer. The room I stayed in was wonderful & very beautifully decorated, but lacked AC. (Worth it, in my opinion, but of note since it does get rather hot and humid here). We did the nighttime guided snorkel and had an amazing time. The fish are best to see right at dusk. As every other review mentions, the bull shark diving experience is well worth the money and getting over your fears. The dive staff are incredible, patient, kind, and knowledgeable. I wish I could do it again & have plans to come back at my earliest opportunity.
