This is paradise. I took my nephew here and we had an absolutely amazing experience. The people were so friendly and we had an incredible time. The team at the dive shop were top notch and super helpful. We did the shark encounter dive and wow…just wow! Not to mention the incredible snorkeling right off the beach on their reef! It is teeming with sea-life! We hiked to the summit of the island, participated in talks with their marine biologist, met lots of great people, and had a blast. I cannot recommend this resort enough!

This is honestly one of the best places I’ve ever stayed! All of the staff are so lovely and friendly, always saying Bula! when you walk past and just wanting you to have the most enjoyable experience. Special mention to Semi the diving instructor, Solo, Sonny, Wendy, and Josh. All of the other staff were amazing as well. We did the bull shark dive and it was incredible. The staff made us feel so safe and dive itself was something I’ll never forgot. We listened to the marine conservation talk about sharks the night before which was great to do before the dive to learn more about sharks and how they are so misunderstood. The food here is delicious - we were never left hungry and they catered to our dietary requirements (vegan and vegetarian). The resort itself is beautiful, with so many day beds to lounge on in the sun or shade. Thoroughly enjoyed our time here and don’t want to leave!! Will definitely be recommending to friends and family back home and will absolutely be returning in the future. Thank you! <3

Absolutely loved Barefoot Resort, I would highly recommend everyone adds this location to their Fiji itinerary and spend a few nights if you can! The staff were extremely friendly and helpful and the resort was so clean. It was so beautiful that I was constantly in awe of the location, sitting on the beach and just watching the waves was so special. Our room walked out to the sea which was stunning. We did the shark scuba drive for beginners and it was the perfect change to go scuba driving and see bull sharks, the team were amazing. I had a bit of stress before going in (my fault) and Semi our drive instructor was fantastic, he calmed me down and helped me with the dive and it was one of the best experiences I have ever had. In the evening we listened to the free shark talk. The resort works with marine biologists so it was super interesting I couldn’t say anything bad about this resort! The food was great and amazing cocktails The island is small so it makes it so peaceful and relaxing. The Fijian warrior on the rock was an amazing part of entering and leaving the island

Just got back from my 2nd trip here in 7 months. Just like previous trip the staff were very polite and extremely helpful. Highlight was my 11yr old boy doing his first ever dive with reef sharks , then diving with 19 Bullsharks the next day. The experienced crew there made everything comfortable for him to enjoy this extreme experience. Great to see the toy shark I gave them is getting good use with other divers there. The food was great, although the fresh buns are not good for my waistline, too tasty. Thankyou to for al the great fijian hospitality. Paul.R

Really nice resort. The people are incredibly friendly, the reef opposite is wonderful, dreamlike, small black tips, lots of coral... the shark diving is very exciting too of course. So altogether make a memorable experinece

Barefoot Kuata has my heart! I absolutely adore this place and everyone here. I spent a few days here in the dorm and spent ALL of my time at the Dive Centre. I have not seen somewhere with SO MANY marine biologists and dive instructors that are so knowledgeable about the surrounding marine environment. Seriously, every time I spoke to anyone on the team (especially Alex), I learned something new. The way that this resort prioritizes keeping the reef healthy and educating guests about the ocean is truly incredible. If you are visiting, PLEASE take advantage of everything you can at the dive centre - I did the famous bull shark dive, the reef shark snorkel, a marine conservation snorkel, and a marine conservation dive. I especially loved the marine conservation activities because we got to actually participate in helping keep the reef healthy by planting coral and removing crown thorne sea stars. This place feels like family and I will definitely be back. I encourage everyone to visit and experience the magic of Kuata yourselves!

Spent two nights here after a work trip. Stayed in a beachfront bure. Accommodation was great - right on the beach - slide the doors open and step out onto the sand. Of course - people are coming for the shark dive - which I did and highly recommend. Very well run and organised - everyone felt very safe and well looked after - the dive shop seems exceptionally well run. The snorkelling with reef sharks was also a great trip as was the night snorkelling. In fact the night snorkel was exceptional - I 100% recommend this to anyone - the UV light brings the reef alive - it's like being in a dream. The staff here are awesome - rarely heard so much laughter, singing and so on - the staff really make the place feel so welcoming. Anyway - if you're hesitating about the shark dive - don't. do the night snorkel - it's a beautiful location - stay for a few days, snorkel with the puppies of the sea (white and black tipped sharks) and spend lots of time snorkelling the reef right in front of the resort, which is exceptional.

Didn’t stay here, but came for a day trip from Nadi for the shark snorkel and had an amazing time. One of the coolest experiences I’ve ever had, absolutely loved swimming with the sharks. The snorkel guides were fun and made everything feel easy and safe. The photographer on site was friendly and she got some great underwater shots of us. Overall, such a great day, would highly recommend it.
