Best Scuba centre in Havelock. Very friendly and competent trainers, great stay options and magnificent views of the ocean with direct beach access.

We stayed at Barefoot Scuba for 10 days as I was completing my PADI Open Water course and wanted to stay for a while after completing the course to enjoy the beaches etc. The staff were amazing - it’s a real family feeling at Barefoot which makes the whole experience so much more enjoyable and easy to settle into particularly when you are learning something new. The level of teaching was to a very high standard. It was clear and concise and we had a lot of fun along the way. Special mention to Avinash who was my instructor. We enjoyed the diving so much we decided to book an extra dive (Adventure Deep Dive) where we reached 29m! We stayed in two different types of accommodation: The A-frame hut - good affordable option but for a couple it is a little on the small side. AC tented hut - very comfortable and luxurious option. Food was excellent and pricing was fair. Malabar fish curry was our favourite - we could eat this everyday and not get bored - however there’s loads of great restaurants nearby if you do want to switch it up. One thing to mention is that there are two Barefoot sites (on different parts of the island) so be sure to double check before arrival.

I recently completed both my Open Water and Advanced Open Water certifications here, along with specialty dives in Night, Deep, Nitrox, and Peak Performance Buoyancy, and the experience was nothing short of breathtaking—and not just because of the regulator! From the moment I arrived, the hospitality and professionalism of the team were evident. The instructors were not just knowledgeable but also incredibly passionate about diving. They transformed complex concepts into easily digestible lessons, ensuring I was always comfortable, confident, and safe under the surface. Whether we were descending into the deep blue or navigating through a pitch-black night dive, I felt completely at ease thanks to their expert guidance. The support staff and boat crew deserve a special mention—they were the unsung heroes of every dive. Always ready with a smile, they ensured the gear was prepped to perfection, the boats were ready to sail, and the transitions between dives were smooth as a sea cucumber. The accommodation was clean, cozy, and calm—the perfect place to relax after a long day underwater. It’s a diver’s haven both above and below sea level. The vibe is laid-back but organized, and there’s a clear emphasis on safety, sustainability, and making guests feel at home. The specialty dives added layers of excitement and depth—both literally and figuratively—to my training. From hovering like a pro during buoyancy drills, each specialty dive was an unforgettable experience. And the night dive? Let’s just say diving by moonlight with bio-luminescence dancing around me was pure aquatic magic. Overall, Barefoot Scuba Resort doesn’t just teach you how to dive—they help you fall in love with the ocean. Their name might be Barefoot, but they leave deep footprints in the hearts of everyone who visits. If you’re considering diving in the Andamans, stop thinking and just take the plunge. Aaammmaaazing experience.... Aaammmmaaazzzing experience... Ammmmaaazzzing experience... Out of the world experience... Scuba diving was an amazing experience! At first, I was a bit nervous, but the instructor Mr. Avinash were really kind and explained everything clearly. Once I went underwater, it felt like a whole new world. I saw beautiful fish, coral, and blue sea water all around me. Breathing through the tank felt strange at first, but I got used to it. It was peaceful, exciting, and something I’ll never forget. I would definitely love to do it again.. And again... And again.... Thank you Barefoot scuba team for giving us an wonderful opportunity..

Words can’t describe how being and diving with Barefoot can make you feel. I have dived all over the world but Barefoot is the only place where even short 3-5 day trips feel like home away from home. From the professionalism to the hospitality and the community they’ve created for themselves, along with how welcoming they are to include guests to be a part of it, it makes me cry every time I have to leave. All the instructors there can attest to how sad and cranky I am during my last day there 😂. It takes courage to choose the life of a professional diver, courage I don’t have, but every day there, their passion and earnestness is inspirational. I’ve gone from being a non-swimmer to an AOW diver under their mentorship and they’re also the only people who I would trust for my parents’ first DSD dives. They’re all highly skilled and trained, a stickler for the rules, and conservative divers which guarantees your safety. They’re as excited about being underwater as you are and revel at even common sightings like lobsters or nudibranches - which you may only be seeing for the 5th time but for them it’s the 1000th. Choose to dive and stay with Barefoot Scuba and you can’t go wrong! Highly recommend to new and experienced divers alike. They’ll make you fall in love with diving over and over and over again.

A great place to learn to dive! I went to Havelock to do my Advanced Open Water licence and couldn’t have chosen a better place. The instructors at Barefoot are knowledgeable, professional, and simply the best people you could ask for – funny and super friendly. The resort itself is beautifully located with its own private beach access, and I felt at home here very quickly. I can only recommend this place to anyone looking for accommodation on Havelock or planning to learn diving.

We can compare with other dive centers in Asia and this was so far our best experience. The whole team was very friendly and professional. Our special thanks belongs to our guide and master Mia. Not only she took care of our dives making these "special" but also gave us worthy informations about local sea-life, diving skills as well as about Andaman & Nicobar islands, local habits and people. She really became our friend.

I had booked 8 fun dives and well ahead requested that I wanted to dive at the premium sites of Havelock for most of my dives. I had previously dived in Havelock's Wall, Slope, and other sites, but never had the opportunity to dive in any of the premium faraway sites. So I booked with Barefoot, hoping everything goes as planned. Cut to the day I reached their resort; the place looked beautiful. I booked their hut, and it was so simple and perfect for someone staying for multiple days. It had a mattress, table fan, mosquito nets, and power boxes. The common washrooms were very clean and were cleaned multiple times a day as well. Coming to the main part, fun dives, I thoroughly enjoyed the dives, the boat crew's work, the Barefoot team's work, and the cafe, not to forget. The instructors and DMs planned and communicated the dive plans very well. The dives were very safe despite the group consisting of 10 fun divers. The equipment and gear were maintained very safely and cleanly as well. Every day, the packed lunch was just too delicious—brownie points for that. By the end of day 4, I had dived in Johnny's George, Dixon's Pinnacle, Jackson's Bar, Minnerva Ledge, Broken Ledge, White House Rock, and SS Inchkeith. I'm very thankful to the team for planning my dives in a way that I was able to dive in every site I intended to at the beginning. I will definitely recommend Barefoot to anyone who's considering diving in Havelock and will look forward to diving with them again. PS: The cats and puppies at the resort are too cute and friendly. Please pet them for me if you're planning to go, stranger.
