Best deep dish pizza (and yes, its not-soaked-in-grease) and leaves my childhood fave behind (sorry P. Hut)
They do not advertise their pizza strongly and YAY for that. It is still a long wait, but oh it is worth it and yes, each time, I am too anxious and have burned my mouth! Not their fault, the pie is right out of the oven and I just couldn't wait. It is so light and airy it makes me think that their was German or Teslan engineering in somehow have it be so tasty, satisfying and yet grease-free, crispy and light but DEEP DISH? HOW???!
Probably using high-dimension abstract algebraic number theory, this pizza was created to defy all previous conceptions of deep dish pizza, and I could not be more pleased with now with craving deep dish pizza!
The bar is down home and welcoming though not very large. The bar is narrow and has wall tables for some standing room behind the bar stools to round out their bar area. Going deeper in the dark and no-nonsense restaurant, you will find some tables. The bathrooms are right there dead center of your walk from the front door to the kitchen, amidst tables and bar stools so, well...make it quick ;)
The brew selection is good with enough taps to pick 1 to 3 to satisfy. But their real strength is their whisky as they boast quite the selection. If that is your bev of choice, then you could go every night for a year and find something new every day.
They have a nice menu to compliment their tour de force pizza including good salads, bar bites (like wings, fresh veggies, pretzel bites), sandwiches (gotta try the italian) and of course...the PIZZA PIES with many choices there.
A must try if around the area. Pizza pizza
