They literally threatened to call the police on me because I threw up in the common room!
Apparently, after returning from a night out (on which someone obviously spiked my drink) I lay down in the common room and threw up. I did not fight with anyone, break anything or misbehave in general. When it was brought to my attention that I had thrown up and I would need to pay for the cleaning of the throw blanket that was on the sofa, I was super apologetic and agreed to do so.
I was also asked to pack up my things pay and leave, which I also agreed to do so without in any way arguing against it and while apologizing profusely (cameras footage can be checked)
However, for absolutely no reason whatsoever, the woman who handles reception made completely unwarranted and unsavory remarks about my having been out drinking when I said I must've been spiked at the bar.
I woke up with no memory of the night after I had one particular shot at the bar. I am 34 years old. It is not my first time out drinking but this is the first time this happened. Clearly something was off with that drink and instead of showing me any empathy this woman started shaming me for drinking!
Said it was my fault!
Made inaccurate and highly judgemental comments about how she saw me drinking for 7 days.
I was there for 6 days out of which I drank with others staying on only 4 nights and behaved badly on 0 of them!
I made friends with almost everyone and was pleasant with everyone when drinking and when not. I gave them absolutely no reason to make such nasty comments about me.
And this is all after I already apologized for throwing up and agreeing to pay for cleaning and after agreeing to leave! Disgusting unnecessary shaming comments. Told me that in 20-25 years of running the hostel they had never had anyone throw up (highly unlikely).
Well I've stayed at 400+ hostels, worked at 2 hostels, over 44 countries in my 9 years of travelling full time and have NOT ONCE seen anyone shamed, asked to leave and threatened with the police for simply being drunk and throwing up!
When I handed her my card to pay for the stay she very rudely said she didn't want to touch my things! In a tone as if I'm an untouchable!
Unbelievably horrific behaviour from incredibly unprofessional people.
Even did this vile woman a favour one day by keeping tabs on the door while she had to leave the hostel to run an errand.
Also the dorm bathroom is always disgusting and we had to repeatedly ask for toilet rolls to be replaced and squeegees to clean it ourselves.
