Bario Hotel

I stayed at Bario Hotel from 9/18/25 to 9/26/25. I was fairly happy with my experience for most of the time I was there. Only thought that the bed was not made in the way you would expect of a hotel, with a blanket and sheets that were not that nice or too small for the bed. However the staff was nice and when I asked for my room to be freshened up they were accommodating. My experience was unfortunately ruined on the last night, and for that I take away three stars. On 9/26 there was a private party at the bar of the hotel that made it impossible to sleep. I came to Curaçao on business, and at the end of the week I was tired. They only informed me of the event an hour before it was going to start and “invited” me to the party. When I asked for some sort of compensation in the morning for lack of sleep the night before, the manager used this “invitation,” which was more of a forced imposition of unwanted noise, as some sad excuse for the unprofessional behavior they subjected the guests of the hotel that night. I went into the reviews and noticed that at least one other person had a similar experience a few years ago. So this is common practice for the hotel when there are private events. They couldnt even give me breakfast as compensation when I asked. The intern at the front desk was nice and gave me coffee. The right thing to do would be to inform me of this event at booking or the moment I arrive a week prior. I would not stay at Bario Hotel again based on this experience. Only give two stars for the staff (minus the manager) being nice and the location.

I had a great time at Bario, the rooms could use some updates here and there but everything you need is available. Really pleasant staff, that's always nice and there to help you. We also ate at the food court one night and it was excellent!

We truly enjoyed our stay - Room was comfortable and we liked having a separate living room space. Close to the pontoon bridge and a number of fantastic restaurants. Breakfast at the hotel shouldn't be missed and I'm not a breakfast eater. Staff was incredibly friendly and helpful - Stephanie coordinated everything we decided to do and answered all our questions - Would absolutely go back

🚨 BEWARE 🚨 I stayed at Bario Hotel last night and they hosted a party (I was not informed) that had a DJ spinning until 1:30 (plus) in the morning. There were dozens of party guests singing/screaming until well in the morning. Not only could I not sleep, I was offered no refund AND no refund for tonight’s stay although I have changed hotels. Additionally, the woman who I initially requested the refund from (who offered no apology) was not only rude, but when she brought out the co-owner to speak to me, she said ‘of course she’s American’. I replied in Spanish letting her know that I heard what she said. I am aware that Americans get a bad rap but wanting to SLEEP while staying in a hotel is not diva-like behavior 😆. Their excuse was that the listing states there can be noise (see photo) and it is also a party venue and unfortunately the party guests arrived late and he didn’t know they were bringing a DJ. Not my fault. I recommend they choose either being a late-night party venue or hotel. I do not recommend staying at this hotel if you want to sleep or if you expect even ‘decent’ service. I have moved to Avila and it is FABULOUS!!

We stayed at the Bario Hotel 3 times this year so, you know it's very good. The location is perfect in the heart of all the nice things in the Otrobanda and Punda area. You can walk everywhere, it's all within a mile or so. The rooms are very nice, in old houses they made the apartments. That's why you get the very local feeling. Also the staff at the reception is very friendly. It has a nice little pool to relax, a big free car parking. I can recommend it to everyone!

Bario Hotel is really great, its beedrooms are amazing and super clean. The hosts are amazing, they will help you with anything you may need. The hotel is close to everything in Willemstad, it is a few steps away from Queen Emma bridge. If you rent a car, you wont have any prob since they have a big parking lot.

Loved staying at Bario. My room was spacious, clean, comfortable, quiet and perfect. Enjoyed the swimming pool and vibe in the Bario yard in evenings. Staff were very helpful, friendly and provided amazing service. Highly recommend this hotel.

We stayed in Jan 2025 for just over a week and loved our stay. Staff is very friendly and responsive. The room was very clean. The best feature for us was there was free parking (easy access and always plenty of spots) and the location of the hotel is great. Easy to get to by car and a walkable distance from the “downtown” area.
