So, I've only had my engagement ring since February. The cute guy I took out on all the dates a la my other reviews proposed to me - and my dream ring was the asymmetrical Avens from Bario Neal, and he found out and got it for me in my size (acutally, at 4, it's slightly loose, I have baby fingers.)
The good: Fabulous design, though I'm starting to see more generic stores ripping off this design, none are asymmetrical.
The bad: On the photos, my garnet looked very dark and rich and brown. I love dark, rich, brown anything (well, that is not a subtle double entendre.) But upon reciept, it was a bright, ugly pink red looked more like a ruby than what I think of as a garnet. I had to order a new one - they quoted me somewhere around a billion* dollars to re-make it as a "customization" fee, but I found a local jeweler to do it for $36 (garnets are cheap, guys!)
It's been approximately two and a half or three months. There are a LOT of dings, deep dents, and crevices in my ring's gold. Not near the garnet - which would be understandable since it was reset - but near the bottom and all over the setting areas where the diamonds are. It's supposed to be 14k gold because I wanted to make sure it would be strong enough. Well, I haven't contacted them about it because I expect they will want me to pay exorbitant shipping or some customization fee or something.
Overall: I love my ring, because my amazing and hunky fiance got it for me, although I wish the band was not so DENTED - something that didn't happen to my other wedding ring under the same type of regular use.
