This was our first time visiting the Brooklyn location. When you first enter, you are greeted by a very warm and welcoming staff. Looking around, the showroom is just beautiful. Their jewelry designs are exquisite and truly unique. My appointment with Seth was to update my wedding rings. I was so impressed with his level of expertise and the intuitiveness of his listening skill. He helped me choose quality pieces that I could not envision by myself. I couldn’t be happier with my experience at Bario-Neal!! Thank you!!

My fiance and I just placed our order for our wedding bands and had the best time working with Vanessa. We did a private appointment to check things out and then another to place our order. Vanessa was always quick to respond to our questions and offer assistance via email in between appointments. We are so happy that we chose to go with Bario Neal. We both ended up with bands we love and already cannot wait to pick them up!

I had a wonderful experience working with Bario Neal! I fell in love with one of their garnet rings but wanted to have it done with rubies. They were able to do it and it’s beautiful! I absolutely love it. Vanessa was a joy to work with throughout the entire process. She always replied quickly to me and kept me abreast of all the progress on my order the entire time. The ring came on time and it turned out even better than I could have imagined. I can’t recommend Bario Neal more, and I look forward to working with them and Vanessa again!

I had the pleasure of working with Naomi the day of my appointment. She was very friendly and knowledgeable. I was given a short history of the company and we discussed my ring preferences and budget. Naomi was able to generate a ballpark quote for me within an hour of my visit. I would recommend Bario Neal to anyone looking for an ethically sourced custom ring!

Google
The staff were helpful. The facility is really pleasant, and has nice interior. There could have been a bit more ring choices, however there were still really cool rings with unique styles. Although we were looking a bit last minute, the expedited shipping price for rings is way too high. I could have possibly went with a ring from here, but this swayed me away from doing so. Without paying the $200 fee, the rings would not have been made in time. Definitely acknowledge we could have gone earlier in the year, but a heads up prices are expensive either way.

I had such a wonderful experience here looking for engagement rings with my boyfriend. I was able to get a last minute appointment. Vanessa helped us feel comfortable and was very detailed in recording my preferences in all the rings. I was so grateful with her helping us go through this process! My favorite and potential winner .. 💗 Deff recommend going here!

I made a mistake in regards to our appointment (very unlike me), my husband and I showed up a day early. Thankfully, Allison was happy to be able to accommodate us. We found an absolutely stunning delicate band of diamonds to add to my wedding pair *that we also got at Bario Neal 3 years ago*. The facts that the band just so happened to be my exact size and in the metal that I needed... with an BONUS 5% off when you buy the same day as your appointment... we had to walk out with it (happy birthday to me!). It is lovely and perfect, I couldn't be happier with it. It is always a delight working with BN, I can't wait for the next time!

We worked with Vanessa for our custom wedding bands and she was just a pleasure to work with!! (Every associate there was also so welcoming and nice). She was so patient with us as I’m very indecisive and allowed me to run with my ideas and I never felt rushed or pressured by her and just absolutely loved our experience! We will definitely be back in the future to purchase more pieces.

Yelp
My partner and I had an appointment here, we had found it from an Instagram ad. They have some really cool and funky pieces in the store to try on. My partner wants a sapphire, and not everywhere has these gemstones ready to try on. The rep that helped us was very nice. The pricing seemed a little on the high end, but it's a boutique. We didn't end up buying anything, but overall, good experience!

Yelp
My partner and I came in for an engagement ring shopping appointment and had such a great experience. From the moment we walked in, it felt like the whole team was ready to give us their undivided attention - and the glass of wine was a nice touch that made it extra fun. Naomi was so sweet and let me try every option I asked for, and even set up some custom arrangements for us to visualize what our options were! We got to set the pace for our appointment and we were so lucky to have such a patient guide to show us all of our options and help us imagine the possibilities for what a custom ring would be. After, we got a great summary email of what we had looked at and what the next steps would be. We walked away feeling like we had a good idea of the process and I feel confident in cutting my boyfriend loose to create something beautiful with the Bario Neal team.

Yelp
Kind of confused about this place. I went in the other day and they quoted us $13k for a 1 carat emerald cut on a gold band. They said VS1 and up and anything better than a good cut was impossible to find. Not even a good quality 1 carat is worth that.

Yelp
Very happy with my "perm". it's just a little bit different from what the competition is doing and I really appreciate that. Going to try to come back to get another if I can convince someone to come with me for a coodrdinatinf or matching set!

Yelp
My fiance and I got our wedding bands at Bario Neal. My fiance loved that he had a wide variety of rings to choose from--both in terms of weight and width but also metals and finishes. So often men's bands are kind of blah, and Bario Neal is anything but blah! His has such a cool texture, and although he was initially nervous to get a ring (he doesn't usually wear any jewelry) he is so excited to wear this ring and keeps trying it on just because! I love that Bario Neal is an ethical choice, and is what originally brought me inside. Not only do they do their best to insure that stones and metals are ethically sourced and don't rely on the enslavement or poor treatment of others to create, they are inclusive in their policies and practices and engagement with the local community. Wedding planning has made me realize how few in the wedding industry do truly inclusive things (if at all, and even then maybe it's a rainbow-themed post around Pride), and just how privileged I am to not HAVE to consider these things in my own plans--and I love that Bario Neal evens that playing field and makes it so NO ONE has to consider whether they will be treated fairly, or have their love questioned. We also looked at them for my engagement ring, but ultimately didn't find anything quite like what I was looking for felt like much of what they had was diamond-heavy and too traditional or wayyy too out there/not traditional-looking enough for our taste. I didn't want a diamond or white stone and it's really hard to find that in an engagement ring unless you go custom (which we did). Despite all of my earlier protestations, I went with a diamond band because it's cool and funky while still looking formal and gorgeous--and it makes my sapphire engagement ring pop and shine. And finally, the people: we've been in two or three times now, and have also spoken to the staff on the phone to make appointments and shift a delivery time for our rings and at every single turn we've been blown away by the genuine kindness and knowledge of everyone we've worked with. They go above and beyond to make you feel comfortable, explain how things work and what to look for, and get to know what you want. Their time feels like a gift, and we never felt like they were trying to sell us anything. They even complimented my engagement ring, which we didn't get from them.

Yelp
I got my engagement ring from Bario Neal with help from Taylor. What I like about Bario Neal is that it is a local business with unique jewelry designs, that they use ethical materials and reclaimed metals. I thought their website blog was also helpful when I was considering settings and stones. My fiancé and I met with Taylor who helped us pick out something that was beautiful to both of us that was within budget. I felt like she had helpful suggestions and was informative. She was warm and understanding not judgy or dismissive. I had gone to other jewelers to just shop around for rings--but it was somewhat uncomfortable as they suggested I come back with my fiancé or give my fiancé their card and they seemed to shrug me off. I mean, I am the one wearing the ring..am I right ladies?? I got none of that weird creepy sexist feeling at Bario Neal. So ladies if you want to get jewelry for yourself -- I would feel comfortable getting it at Bario Neal! If you are planning a surprise engagement though --- definitely have a clear communication plan of who is getting the emails and contacts. My fiancé and I were not as clear about this/were ambivalent about it, so I got the emails which for the ring--which was not a big deal but I know for some people that's a big deal ‍ This is also going to sound kind of stupid and snobby--but I really liked that Bario Neal jewelry has a presence in fashion magazines and blogs but to each their own, right? Lol. Anyhow--yeah if you want a piece of jewelry that is local, unique, ethical, heirloom worthy, meaningful and you don't want to feel awkward or weird while shopping--I would go to Bario Neal--but for Covid make sure you make an appointment.

Yelp
My fiancee and I chose Bario Neal after much research and discussion. Actually, there wasn't much discussion after we found Bario Neal, as they are openly ethical on how they source and create GORGEOUS jewelry, supportive of all humans and all love, and women-founded and owned. We chose to create custom engagement rings based on their Prim Cluster Trillion ring, and could not be more in love with the end products! Recently, I lost a stone from my precious ring, and Bario Neal replaced the tourmaline and rechecked the settings without a hitch. From start to finish, we could not have asked for better support, service, and craftsmanship. We will be ordering our wedding bands very soon!

Yelp
This place really needs to state that you cannot walk in despite the sign saying walk ins welcome on the door. We were basically kicked out/asked to leave because another customer was there. That customer had already looked through everything at that point and choose some of their favorites, but they still wouldn't show us anything, even though there were two other salespeople just sitting there chatting. The worst part was they let us awkwardly stand there for 10 min before passive aggressively making it clear that we should leave. If they were direct right away that would have been helpful! Gave them 3 stars because their jewelry looked pretty from afar. Not sure I will make it back yet, but we will see.

Yelp
After an extremely disappointing experience ordering my "dream" ring online from a Brooklyn-based boutique jeweler, we were able to return it and I knew that I wanted to work with someone local to design a special ring. The beautiful custom designs of Bario Neal initially caught my eye, and I was excited to see their sustainable practices as well. We met with Genna in store and designed a ring that ended up being more perfect than I could have imagined - she recognized my vision and guided me in the design, all while helping make sure it felt like me and was a unique, heirloom-quality ring. I had complete trust in her abilities to recognize what I was going for, and to find the most gorgeous Canadian diamond to bring that vision to life. When she told me it would or wouldn't look a certain way, I believed her and hoped for the best - she really knows what she's doing and I'm so grateful for her help! We stayed absolutely within our budget and Genna promptly answered the bazillion random questions I had along the way. I love my ring and will be singing Bario Neal's praises from the roof tops forever :)

Yelp
This staff is so wonderful! Went to the NY office in 2019 and recently again, the staff is always beyond wonderful, took the time with my partner and I to try different rings. I just love the looks, the creativity, the beauty, and what they stand for! I absolutely recommend them!

Yelp
Like love love this place!!! My fiancé and I got our engagement rings here and will be back for the bands. They have a large selection of rings that you can choose from or work with them to design your own. We were looking for something a little less traditional and they had very classy and elegant rings. Their staff is exceptionally friendly and helpful and the store itself is a cute little gem. Recommend this place times over!

Yelp
I live across the country in San Diego so I've never been in the store, which means my review is based on my online purchase. I work with my hands quite a bit at work and found my wedding set was too big and was getting knocked around too much to wear on a daily basis. I bought a simple band elsewhere to wear to work, but I quickly found it way too boring. I know it's for work, but that still means I'm wearing it the majority of the week and I wanted something unique. I also wanted something pretty. After doing some research for alternate wedding band ideas, I came across the Bario-Neal Knottedrush ring and fell in love immediately. After a couple days of endless internet research (I'm super annoying like that), I decided to go ahead and purchase it in silver matte. I really wanted gold, but I wanted to make sure it would actually work for my daily use so I went with the least expensive option. Well I love it. It took a couple minutes to get used to seeing it on my finger instead of a wedding set or traditional wedding band, but now that I'm used to it I don't want to take it off. Ever. In fact, I didn't take it off this weekend. I chose to wear it instead of my flashy wedding set while we were out and about on the town. It's just so sweet. As far as durability goes, it's holding up like a champ. It looks very delicate, but doesn't actually seem to be so. I put some light pressure on it initially to see if it would give and it absolutely did not. I think I'll get some great wear out of this, and if/when I eventually do wear it down I will immediately head back to Bario-Neal to order another, but this time in gold. Shipping was fast and I could track it the whole way. But do note that a signature is required, FedEx won't leave it if you're not home so pick your shipping address accordingly. I had to divert it to a FedEx Office location to make sure it would be available for pick-up after my work hours. It came delightfully packaged in a little glass jar with a lovely personalized postcard. Beautiful designs all around. I'm currently working on creating my "dream" wedding set and I've got a couple ideas for a custom band I'd like them to create for me, as well as some earrings I've been eye-balling. That means my relationship with Bario-Neal is only just beginning. I love their jewelry. You should buy their jewelry. Also, sorry, Bario-Neal, but I will probably forever accidentally call you Barrio Logan because of the neighborhood here in San Diego. Please don't be offended; it's accidentally said with love.

Yelp
Bario Neal did an incredible job on our wedding bands! Not only do I love that we worked with a small business whose ethics and philosophy are so important to their company but their products are incredible. The items are handmade so you will never find them anywhere else. We had our bands created with stones from my mother's sapphire bracelet - mine in white gold and his in a hammered rose gold. They worked with us to make everything just right. They are beautiful! I admit I went to our safe and oogled the rings and tried them on several times before the wedding. The prices aren't cheap because you are getting one of a kind pieces but the end result is so worth it. The things that are left after the wedding: pictures, a partner, and rings. I'm confident I chose wisely!

Yelp
My husband and I bought a ring from Bario-Neal a few months ago and are feeling scammed. Overall our whole experience with Bario-Neal has been horrible. We ordered his ring in May, and we're told we'd have it before July. This was good because we were getting married at the end of July. We didn't hear anything for weeks about our order, I emailed several times and was maybe answered once. We received our ring one week before we were married. It was the wrong size, and because it didn't come in the time it was promised, we were unable to get it sized. My husband is able to get the ring on, but he really cannot get it off. We've now had the ring for three months, and the metal that was silver, is now a black/purple? We went swimming, and because he hasn't ever been able to really get it off without hurting himself, he just kept it on. The ring is now discolored, and we were told by Bario-Neal it was common sense to not swim with your rings on. We never had received any ring care that told us this, and even on the website there is only one line about not getting chemicals on the stones. Not the metal. We truly feel we have been ripped off and are now out $500. What a waste of our time and money. Do not buy a ring from here unless you want terrible customer service and a terrible product.

Yelp
I wanted to get myself a ring to celebrate the conclusion of a 20 year business. I wanted something beautiful, special, and something that would not have people asking if I had somehow gotten re-engaged. Bario-Neal has just the kind of unique designs I was looking for. Their ethical practices really spoke to me, as did supporting a neighborhood business. I worked with Ariel to customize a design I loved to be significant to me. When I was unhappy about something, she helped get it resolved quickly. Also, the store is lovely, low key and comfortable -- I didn't feel like the solo person in a swarm of couples getting engaged. Now, I am thrilled with my ring! I am not an everyday jewelry person -- I don't wear my engagement ring because I'm constantly banging it on stuff. This, I wear so often that I feel weird when I don't. Bario-Neal is highly recommended.

Yelp
My partner and I bought our wedding bands from Bario Neal this summer and feel lucky to have found them. We wanted buy locally from a shop that valued ethical & sustainable sourcing. The shop is adorable and the selection is great. The staff was friendly, knowledgeable, patient as we made (and remade) our decisions. When we had a bit of a glitch in our order, they quickly made the arrangements necessary to correct the issue. And most importantly - we love our rings! Would highly recommend.

Yelp
I called this establishment today. It was first on my list for area jewelers to look into for my future engagement ring. The lady who answered the phone was so rude that I just had to write this review. I'd asked the woman on the phone about sourcing a 2-3ct fancy yellow diamond. She tells me that they don't sell diamonds there, only do custom work. I asked if they can 'source' my center stone for me or if all clients must bring their own stones in for the custom work. She tells me that I ought to go onto their website to see their prices. I reiterate to her that I'm looking for an idea of pricing on a center stone that they would source for me, and that maybe she can call around to see what they'd be able to help me acquire to build my ring. She again directs me to the website to look for pricing. Once more, I state, "if you don't sell diamonds on your site, then how would I be able to get pricing on the yellow diamonds?" I go on to say "if I can't find the price for yellow diamonds on your site, and if you're not willing to source it, then maybe this isn't the right fit for me?" I asked this to the woman... and she responded to me by saying, "Ok, well why don't you just simmer down." Really? I wasn't even worked up at all lol. How dare you speak to a potential customer like they're a child? I called here ready to drop 25k on my ring. But I'm more than happy to take that business elsewhere where I'll be treated with respect. Unbelievable.

Yelp
My husband and I got our wedding bands at Bario Neal and we both absolutely adore them. He got a standard band, which looks great and delivered right on time, and I had a custom band made which I am obbbbsessed with. The week after I decided to go for the custom band, I was in Philly visiting a friend so I stopped by Bario Neal's main storefront there to meet with the designer and talk over the customization in person. The entire staff there was fantastic - friendly, warm, knowledgable, and committed to talking and sketching with me until the exact vision I had in my head was put down on paper. Seeing the wax mold a month or so later was so exciting (and looked great), and the designer answered my questions and comments quickly and thoroughly. Their communication was great throughout and they handled my tricky shipping situation/timing really well, too. The final result is totally rad and is exactly as I imagined it. I also did a lot of price comparisons (super easy to do with my husband's band, since it was a standard width and material), and was really happy with Bario Neal's prices. I looked at a few other small jewelers, some bigger indie stores in NYC, and big chains like Tiffany's and Macy's too, and for my money Bario Neal was the best choice. Even the Macy's bands were pretty comparable (if not even more expensive!), and I'd much rather spend my money at a small company with solid ethics. I'm enough of a penny-pincher that if the bigger chains/indie stores were significantly cheaper, I woulda done it. But I was super happy to be able to support a great business without even having to pay more for it!

Yelp
So, I've only had my engagement ring since February. The cute guy I took out on all the dates a la my other reviews proposed to me - and my dream ring was the asymmetrical Avens from Bario Neal, and he found out and got it for me in my size (acutally, at 4, it's slightly loose, I have baby fingers.) The good: Fabulous design, though I'm starting to see more generic stores ripping off this design, none are asymmetrical. The bad: On the photos, my garnet looked very dark and rich and brown. I love dark, rich, brown anything (well, that is not a subtle double entendre.) But upon reciept, it was a bright, ugly pink red looked more like a ruby than what I think of as a garnet. I had to order a new one - they quoted me somewhere around a billion* dollars to re-make it as a "customization" fee, but I found a local jeweler to do it for $36 (garnets are cheap, guys!) It's been approximately two and a half or three months. There are a LOT of dings, deep dents, and crevices in my ring's gold. Not near the garnet - which would be understandable since it was reset - but near the bottom and all over the setting areas where the diamonds are. It's supposed to be 14k gold because I wanted to make sure it would be strong enough. Well, I haven't contacted them about it because I expect they will want me to pay exorbitant shipping or some customization fee or something. Overall: I love my ring, because my amazing and hunky fiance got it for me, although I wish the band was not so DENTED - something that didn't happen to my other wedding ring under the same type of regular use. *slightly exaggerated

Yelp
There was a recent sample sale, and I decided to treat myself to some of the more affordable items (I'm not rich so can't afford the more expensive but beautiful jewelry). I purchased two necklaces and a set of hoop earrings. Everything arrived in one box with the necklaces intertwined. A simple piece of tissue paper to separate them would have been nice. It took over two hours to untangle the necklaces. When I did, I found that one of the necklaces was laughably short. So short it wouldn't even fit around my neck (I'm not fat. My neck is a normal size). I double checked the website to make sure I didn't accidentally buy a child's necklace, but there was no indication that I had. I'm sure that the custom or expensive jewelry is nice and of good quality, but I wouldn't bother with any of the more affordable items.

Yelp
Hate mall jewelers by definition? Can't afford Tiffany's? Does walking down Jeweler's Row somehow fill you with the urge to take a shower? More importantly, do you think that the "very special" jewelry you buy for your loved ones should *REALLY* mean something? If you answered "yes" to all of the above then say "Hallelujah!" my friend, because Bario-Neal has come to town! The artists at Bario-Neal are just that: artists. More than that, they are artists with a heightened consciousness for what is morally just when it comes to worldwide mining for precious stones and metals. Everything they make is derived from recycled, re-purposed, or equitably/sustainably mined raw materials. Did I mention that they have a wonderful design aesthetic, incredibly attentive personal service, and extremely fair pricing? I bought my fiancee's engagement ring from them and it was the most satisfying purchase of that kind I have ever made by far, for me but equally and more importantly for her. We will be heading back to Bario-Neal shortly to have them make our wedding rings, as well.

Yelp
Well, Bario-Neal has done it again. Engagement ring done. Whilst (love that word) browsing various places for rings in June 2013 I was continually struck with the feeling that I was trying to fit a square peg in a round hole. I and more importantly my fiancee wanted a ring that would really capture what we were about. Thankfully one day I had the realization that I wasn't going to find the perfect ring, I would have to create it. I pretty much sprinted to Bario-Neal. I walked in and was greeted by Sara (who would be one of my contacts through the process) and after introductions I started throwing around terms that I thought were important for the ring such as pave and cathedral. After listening to me and my incoherent babbling, she showed me a set of rings they had and gave me an idea of sizes of different stones. Seeing things in person, in a non-confrontational manner made me feel more comfortable and allowed me to get a better sense of the end product. Next, we looked at some rings they had casted and I selected one to work off of and personalize. Feeling comfortable with everything, I put my deposit down and we moved forward. Over the next few weeks, Sara was in touch with the diamonds they could find that met my criteria. Bario-Neal doesn't keep diamonds in the store but they will go find one for you that meets your criteria and that meets their own ethical sourcing standards. We found a wonderful stone and well within my price range. Next Aliyah (our designer) went to work on actually designing the ring around the stone. Within about 6 weeks, I got to see the first CAD renderings of the ring. I was really impressed with the level of quality (of the drawings alone) and I was happy to move forward in the process. After about 8 total weeks, the day had arrived and I got to see the ring for the first time. I thought it was beautiful. It was all that I had hoped it could be and I could barely wait to get it home and propose. Thankfully, it all worked out positively. I would highly recommend Bario-Neal for custom work. They are very pleasant, down to earth and can help guide you through all the steps in creating something truly unique.

Yelp
Just having gotten married in late September I can't say enough how AMAZING the ladies here are at making your ring dreams come true. Not only did they find the perfect bands that work for our hands on jobs but helped me find the perfect little stacker for on top of my engagement ring! She gave me a nice heads up on how long they take to get made so there were no surprises which I really appreciated. Highly recommend!

Yelp
My partner and I worked with Bario Neal to create a custom engagement ring and we couldn't be happier! Working with Genna was a great experience, she listened to our design ideas and helped us create something that we absolutely love. Bario Neal worked with many of our own heirloom stones and were open to answering our questions throughout the entire process. We're excited to go back for our wedding bands! Definitely recommend working with Bario Neal for any of your ring or jewelry needs!

Yelp
We recently got engaged and I can't thank the staff at Bario-Neal enough for helping my beau through the process of not only buying, but designing an engagement ring. The finished product is truly incredible. I love that they use reclaimed metal, source ethical diamonds, AND that they support marriage equality. It says it right on their brochures. How cool is that? We actually visited them about three weeks ago to look at wedding bands and I was fortunate enough to meet the woman who made my ring. I was so impressed with their customer service and attention to detail; I will absolutely recommend them to everyone I know. Thank you, Bario-Neal.

Yelp
What a joy to find the perfect source for my engagement ring! I wanted something design-forward, unique with a nod to tradition, sophisticated, elegant, simple...yellow gold, low-set, easy-to-wear, fitting as easily with jeans shorts as with gowns...reasonable, ethical... My list of requirements was way too long and yet Bario Neal's aesthetic and ethos fit perfectly. I can't dream up a more perfect ring. And they are so delightful to work with. Thank you!

Yelp
My fiance and I were looking for something different from the run-of-the-mill wedding bands that we were being shown at local jewelry stores. I found Bario-Neal through one of the wedding blogs I read and really liked their unique jewelry and reasonable and up-front pricing. We started to make plans to drive to Philadelphia but found out Bario-Neal would be at a nearby bridal show. Even though we're not big into the bridal-show scene, we went to see Bario-Neal and I am so glad that we did. When you're wedding planning, it's pretty common for vendors to either be super pricey or straight up pushy. Right away Anna was laid back and I felt no pressure at all. She was willing to work within our budget and helped us come up with custom designs for our wedding bands. From the beginning Anna was flexible, friendly, and really seemed to understand what we were looking for. Working with vendors that aren't local can also be tricky. Anna was awesome about keeping in touch with us about the process and not once were we nervous about the rings being completed. She always replied to our emails promptly and it felt like she was around the corner rather than hours away. The rings arrived exactly within the timeframe she gave us. They are absolutely gorgeous and exactly what we envisioned. The packaging is also very unique and a nice touch. I had the best experience working with Anna and Bario-Neal and recommend them to all, especially if you're searching for something that is budget friendly and also unique. They definitely took away the stress of getting our rings and gave us one less thing to worry about while planning our wedding.

Yelp
I had my engagement ring made there and it was the most pleasant experience I could have hoped for. Anna and Page made the most perfect ring I could have imagined. We have now just picked up our wedding bands and they are equally incredible. I am so thrilled we chose the Bario-Neal team to make our bands. I wear my engagement ring every day and it always looks stunning! Thank you!!!!

Yelp
I got engaged about 5 weeks before my wedding, so I knew that finding a ring that was really "me" but that could be made and delivered on time would be a real challenge. I was thrilled to discover the Bario-Neal Fishtail ring! it was exactly what I wanted: understated, slim, elegant and feminine without being overtly fancy. and they made it in palladium and silver, which was the exact combination I was hoping for (I am a farmer, so I needed something sturdier than just silver). and the price couldn't be beaten. I spoke to some folks from the company in advance of ordering to see if they thought I should pay the $100 extra to rush order. they didn't think so, and said they'd keep my wedding date in mind as they made it. sure enough, it arrived I think about a week in advance. they could have told me I should rush order it and they'd have an extra $100, so their integrity impressed me. I am not a big jewelry person but this company will be the first I to if I want another piece of anything. great people, beautiful things.

Yelp
Bario-Neal know how to make beautiful, well-crafted jewelry and aims to do it as ethically as possible. Beautiful work, incredibly pleasant experience. Would recommend to all, especially those in the market for wedding bands and weary of the wedding industrial complex!

Yelp
I purchased an engagement ring and two wedding bands through Bario Neal, and my fiancée and I could not be happier with the results. We are not local at all, so while we were driving up to Philly for a weekend trip a few months ago, we stopped by their storefront to start the process. We found the staff to be knowledgeable and helpful with just about every question we had. I had concerns about working with a jeweler so far from home and with whom I had no experience or familiarity with, but I'm glad I took the plunge. I had an old and fairly large heirloom ring that I wanted to recycle into the new rings, and this was largely not a problem. They do have a policy that recycled metal cannot be used for jewelry with fittings, which was a bit of a bummer but I understand. They were still able to use the heirloom ring for the metal in the two wedding bands, and there was enough left over that they gave me back the stones and a large metal button. I saved myself the metal costs on two of the three rings, and I found their labor charges to be fair and reasonable. The engagement ring was their linear diamond style, which my fiancée loves for its asymmetry. We request the diamonds in a champagne color, and while we were informed that this would add some extra time for sourcing the diamonds, it was also not a problem. The staff was extremely helpful in communicating through email, an sending pictures of candidate diamonds before they were purchased. We went through a few sets before we found a color that we were happy with, but the whole purchasing process took maybe 3 weeks. From there, it took another 6-7 weeks to make the rings, which was not an issue. The rings were FedEx'ed with 2-day shipping, and required signature. FedEx's shipping policies were the only frustrating part of the whole exchange, but that's not something that can be pinned on Bario Neal. Overall, I am extremely happy with their service and the final products that I received. I will definitely be giving them a look for any future jewelry work.

Yelp
These people are so good at what they do. The quality of their work is really amazing! My fiance's mother is a jeweler, so she is quite the critic- of course she loves my engagement ring from here. We just took it in to get a it resized since I lost some weight. They couldn't have been nicer or more accommodating. They even gave me a dummy ring to wear while they fixed it, because I would have felt so weird not wearing anything on my finger at all! 5 stars. Highly recommend!

Yelp
The people are very, very kind, the jewelry is very pretty and their parties are adorable. And I root for small businesses. Unfortunately, the quality of the ready-to-wear goods is not so hot. My mister bought me a beautiful mesh necklace from them for Christmas; it started to come apart at the seams about a week later.* And now, about 7 months after the fact, the ring he bought me from there -- a very cute and simple silver knot, which I haven't even worn daily -- has also come apart at the seam. I've knotted necklaces before, but I've never broken a piece of nice jewelry, never a ring, never a necklace. *They were kind enough to try and replace it, but the materials were vintage and so this took literally several months, during which I received one call and then had to follow up multiple times myself till they kindly replaced the unrepairable and irreplaceable necklace with another item of similar value...

Yelp
I bought the Aira diamond as an engagement ring for my now fiancee. Bario-Neal made it a wonderful experience because they conducted themselves totally transparently and fairly. When I asked about a refund, they promised me a 30 day money back guarantee. When I asked about certification, they said that all of their diamonds were certified. They also promised one free resizing if it did not fit right. That and the ring was beautiful. My fiancee loved it. I would definitely do business with Bario-Neal again.

Yelp
Bario Neal answers every one of the most important concerns I had when I started looking for my engagement and wedding rings: they are a sustainable and ethical company that i'm proud to support; they offer quality at a reasonable price; the service was amazing and their customer care was wonderful and timely; and last but not least, they have beautiful, aesthetically pleasing wings that I will enjoy wearing for the rest of my life.

Yelp
This review is months overdue, but here goes. I went to Bario Neal to make a new engagement ring out of the heirloom passed down to my fiance by his mother. Everyone I encountered at BN was friendly and helpful, and not the least bit pushy or working the upsell angle. I love their cluster style creations and I knew I wanted something similar, and as soon as they heard this out came the gem case (playing with precious gems is serious fun)! After a painless couple of visits and some 3D renderings (so cool) I had my custom ring, and I adore it. Unique as hell and just beautiful. They do incredible work, and the fact that everything on offer is ethically sourced put my conscience at ease as well.

Yelp
My fiancée and I are from the DC area, and just chose my engagement ring at the Bario Neal store in Philadelphia while on a weekend away. All of the salespeople and jewelry designer we worked with were all completely wonderful, patient, and knowledgable both times I visited the store (once on a Saturday and then again on Sunday to buy the ring). They made great style suggestions, and dealt with my many many questions and indecision. Their stones are beautiful, ethically sourced and recycled or mine free metals. I will absolutely be coming back to this store for my jewelry. I don't typically like the jewelry in run of the mill jewelry stores, these pieces are all very unique and hip - all the while the store still felt very accessible. Big fan!

Yelp
Anna and the rest of the staff at Bario-Neal are simply amazing. My fiancé and I wanted something unique, beautiful, and ethically created for our engagement/wedding rings. We found Bario-Neal via Pinterest (another great find; check it out if you haven't already) and immediately knew they were the ones. This, despite the fact that we were living in NYC at the time. We found nothing in New York to rival this place -- and not for lack of trying! So we booked a Bolt Bus trip to Philadelphia and made our way to Bario-Neal. We were both a bit nervous, neither of us being particularly familiar with jewelry, much less custom-designed jewelry. Anna was amazing. She made us feel totally comfortable and confident, and helped us design rings that perfectly capture the feel we were going for. The total price was more than reasonable. They arrived in the mail last week, and we literally could not have been more excited. Absolutely beautiful craftsmanship, so unique and exceptional. And the little containers they arrived in were adorable as well. If you're looking for beautiful, unique, ethical, reasonably priced engagement and/or wedding rings, there's no one I would recommend more highly.

Yelp
This is a wonderful place for a couple looking for wedding bands without the drama and high-pressure environment of traditional jewelry stores. Extremely pleasant staff, laid back atmosphere, beautiful selection of rings and craftsWOmanship (extremely pleased to see an all-female staffed business). A big plus for me was that they are committed to ethical sourcing and marriage equality. My partner and I aren't big jewelry wearers but decided to go through the process of getting traditional wedding bands and found them in this lovely store. The staff patiently talked us through all the different options, choices and styles. This place couldn't have been better for who we are and what we were looking for.

Yelp
The talented people at Bario Neal made my engagement ring and our wedding rings, and we could not be happier with the level of service, their attention to detail and the overall quality. I wanted a somewhat nontraditional engagement ring, and the wonderful and friendly women who work here helped my husband through every step of the way in creating one. Afterwards he couldn't wait to go back to the shop with me to look for wedding rings. The whole process was fun! The work is also reasonably priced - my engagement ring was later appraised for a much higher amount than what they charged.

Yelp
Bario-Neal is pure excellence!! I needed to have an heirloom diamond reset. This was a semi-sacred family relic, and I couldn't trust just any Jewelers Row outfit with it. I also didn't want to deal with any high-pressure sales tactics. And I had no interest in patronizing a mall chain store with their rows and rows of rings that all look the same. I found Bario-Neal through Yelp, and yes, they ARE as good as all the reviews say! The people who work at Bario-Neal are highly skilled artisans. They will walk you through the options and work within your budget to create something fantastic. On top of that, they make their jewelry using recycled materials and ethically-sourced stones! The shop itself is charming, staffed by pleasant and communicative people. Anna was my point person -- she was great, answering all my questions clearly. The whole place seems to have a positive culture. You get the sense that the people at Bario-Neal are doing what they love. The ring was finished within the given time frame, and it COMPLETELY exceeded my expectations! I have never been a fine jewelry person, preferring toned-down accessories made of beads or sterling silver. But all the sudden I understand the appeal. The ring is so sparkly and eye-catching, with beautiful organic lines. I never want to take it off! Thank you, Bario-Neal! I will be recommending you to everyone who compliments the ring (and already there have been many)!

Yelp
Don't try to walk in, despite what the website says. We were turned away while the store was half-empty, despite just wanting to view one or two rings we had already checked on online. Won't be back.

Yelp
My fiancée and I had a dreadful experience with Bario Neal. After waiting two months for a non-custom ring, they ended up making our ring in the wrong metal. They didn't have the common decency to apologize properly or come up with a fair solution, so we returned the ring. They are slow, incompetent and have terrible customer service. I highly recommend against purchasing a ring from Bario Neal.

Yelp
Love this place. I have bought jewelry here for friends, and recently asked for something here for my birthday from my parents. I worked w/ the ladies here (Anna, Paige, and Stacy) to make some changes to a bracelet they make and sell in the store- they listened to what I wanted and worked to make it exactly how I wanted. Anna was happy to coordinate w/ my parents as well via email, which was great and helped my parents to feel involved in the gift. Super happy w/ my bracelet, and I will continue to come here when looking for reasonably-priced, local, unique jewelry. Also- they have great parties with sales for holidays and such- if you like them on facebook you will be in the know!

Yelp
My engagement ring is from Bario-Neal and it is so beautiful. We're from New York and while visiting friends in Philly I pointed out this ring - for future reference - and he ordered it online when we got home. He said the process was simple and the staff was very helpful. I love the ring so much and am happy it is from such a special place!

Yelp
We read about Bario Neal on an airplane in Canada . . . and decided to drive from our home in Virginia Beach to meet with Genna in their Philadelphia studio. We spent over 90 minutes with Genna so we could design our wedding and engagement bands - all of which were completely customized for us. The unique and personalized products are exceeded only by their amazingly pleasant and professional approach. We could be happier with our decision to work with Bario Neal - and recommend them without reservation.

Yelp
I worked with Bario Neal to create a stunning engagement ring. Together we customized their asymmetrical avens ring, and incorporated some stones from one of the rings I inherited from my mother. Bario Neal was beyond easy to work with. But most importantly the end result is a one of a kind ring that both my wife and I feel a strong attachment to and affection for. I am so glad that we were able to work with Bario Neal to create something of beauty that holds meaning for us instead of just buying an off the shelf product. I highly recommend Bario Neal for engagement rings and wedding bands.
