Barn Town Brewing is one of those rare places where the atmosphere, food, and beer all come together for a truly memorable experience. On our recent visit, we were lucky enough to snag a spot on their patio on a perfect summer afternoon. The setting was relaxed yet lively, with great music and just the right level of energy from other guests. We started with the Wisconsin cheese curds, which were lightly crisp on the outside, gooey and flavorful inside, and paired perfectly with their house-made dipping sauce. For the main course, I went with the Bacon & Brie Double Smash Burger, and it was phenomenal — juicy, flavorful patties layered with creamy brie and smoky bacon on a perfectly toasted bun. The fries were fresh, hot, and nicely seasoned. To wash it down, I enjoyed two of their beers: the Neon Hazy IPA and the Groovy Ruby IPA. Both were excellent in their own way — balanced, flavorful, and brewed with obvious skill. Service was friendly and efficient, and while it wasn’t over-the-top, it was exactly what you want in a brewery: attentive without hovering. Menus are accessed online via QR code, which worked smoothly. Barn Town is clearly serious about both their food and their beer, and they’ve nailed the welcoming, modern brewpub vibe. Whether you’re there for a casual drink, a great meal, or to explore their rotating taps, this is a must-visit in Des Moines.

We were invited out to this restaurant. We trust the referrals. And I must say they didn't disappoint! There was a wait to be seated since it was at the busiest time of the day. We had two furry friends tow with our party of four. Which was no issue for sitting out on the patio. They have a cooler with collapsible bowls specifically for them. This was a pleasant experience. The Food; They know their stuff on what's good. From the appetizers, we chose the house chips with two dips. The pimento cheese is delicious. The chips were fried to perfection. We shared a Smokehouse BBQ Burger with the fries. The burger was juicy and seared. The BBQ was everything that you want in the sauce. The Crab Rangoon Chicken Sandwich was equally delicious. The Rangoon sauce added a level of flavor that has to be tasted. Our drinks ranged from mixed to t to soda and water. All were refreshing and cold. The French fries were a bit soft for some of our table's taste. We saw the Sampler of beer and was a a delightful surprise. The Service; We had our server, Delaney. She's a Hawkeye Volleyball star, who was the star of our service. She covered every base. She is awesome. The Atmosphere; it's nice when everything works so well. The vibe is come as you are and bring whoever you want to spend time with. They have TVs that have both local, regional, and national sports. Definitely a place to bookmark and get back for some of those delicious food.

We took lunch on the patio. The shade was enough to fight the sun and the breeze wasn't encumbered by the structure. 80 was comfortable. The beer flights came out fast and the food was ready quickly. Our server Lynn was attentive and checked with us multiple times beyond the intro and food delivery. It was my wife's birthday so we got the beer ice cream. It was very good and refreshing!

We wanted to try something new last night. It was a Thursday and was very busy - our wait was 20-25 minutes. What doesn’t make sense is the host stand had two to three people at a time and everyone had been helped but they would be talking and not helping bus tables. Closer to our wait time being up they started to help clear tables. Our waitress was great, Stephanie G! Is was a little dark where we sat. But the food was good! The kids enjoyed the cheeseburger and chicken tenders - great portions for kids!! I ordered the 55 burger and loved the sauce. My husband ordered the Smokehouse burger with sweet potato fries and said the burger was pretty sweet. I wish I went on Tuesday for the birria! Overall we will be back!

We used to really like this place, but recently, their food items have been rather bland. You can still get a few items with flavor, but it has become a bit disappointing. The Mac and Cheese was like eating nothing.. salt and hot sauce made it palatable, but I won't order it again. The burger with brie and apple was good. Their Cinco de Mayo specials were lacking in flavor. They have good sounding food & it's cooked well.. it just needs flavor. There were a lot of children last time we went, so maybe they're catering to that crowd now.

Went twice while in Des Moines once for dinner and once for brunch. Both times were absolutely amazing. Besides for the insane beers Barn Town has such unique and great food. The dinner we ordered the Nashville Hot Chicken sandwich and a Burger. So good. For brunch we had and split the Barn Town Chonga and the Elotes Avocado Toast and oh my god absolutely delicious. Give Barn Town a try and I promise you that you won't regret it.

Looking at Google restaurant reviews led me here... This is the last of my two days in town, and I wanted to try a place close to my hotel and not a burger or bar chain either. So I headed over, and upon entry, I noticed only a handful of customers, but by the time I was ready to go, the seating area was filling up quite well. I decided to sit at the bar, and during my time there, I came across a few friendly customers. I don't remember the bartenders name, but he was friendly and made sure I was taken care of. I made sure to pass him a tip since he was ending his shift. My meal was the barn burger with fries, and my drink was called a Thirst Aid Kit. The drink wasn't bad, but another beer I tried tasted better... I just don't remember the name of it. Anyways, to sum things up, the place was clean, kept up well, the restroom was maintained properly, staff was friendly and helpful, and the prices were fair considering it was an independent location. If I am ever back in the area again, I'll make sure to stop by. Check it out, I believe you'll like it.

I went in hopes to get some cotton candy beer but apparently it’s seasonal and they were out. (Stores have been out as well). We chose to sit outside because of how loud it was indoors, you can’t hear the person across of you at all. Sitting outside was nice but I realized quickly people bring their dogs. I didn’t mind that but I could see how annoying that could get if there was a dog that was misbehaving, barking or begging for food. Several of the beers I wanted to try they were out of and the people that bring you your food isn’t your waiter/waitress … I saw several food deliveries that walked around for a while, taken to wrong tables and even went back and forth to the kitchen a couple times trying to figure out where what they were holding was supposed to go. I’m sure some of those meals were cold by the time they finally made it to the correct table. I would go back again maybe in the next year but not frequently especially with the cost for what you get and the noise level.

Yelp
4.6* (out of 5) Food: 5* Atmosphere: 4* Value: 5* Service: 4* Would I go back / Recommend?: 5* (Definitely) Total check/person: $30 06/25/2025 Quick update following another great stop for dinner with my wife, son and Grandson. This time, we took advantage of the Tendies & Pitchers Wednesdays - and what a great value! My wife and I both ordered the Pound of Chicken Tenders & Chips, but with different dipping sauces (see picture). As we've come to expect at Barn Town, they were delicious - crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside. Of the dipping sauces we tried, my favorite was the Hot Honey...but they were all pretty good. If you found this review helpful, please show your appreciation with a Like or a Follow.

Yelp
We came to watch the game during brunch but the food was not good... I think other reviews are pretty misleading. Did we get them at a bad time? Maybe.. The burrito was small and cold, mimosas were mainly syrup, and the skillet had no flavor. I do not recommend this place for brunch. The starters and lunch looks okay, but portions are small considering the price. The wait staff is incredibly nice, and service is good. They also have plenty of TV's for any game you may want to watch.

Yelp
Enjoy everytime we go here. We've had so many different items. Including Brussels Sprouts. Definitely enjoy trying their varieties of beer as well as seasonal items. The service is always very friendly & efficient. I do wish it wasn't so loud there, if it's busy you can not even hear your table. They need some buffers. But that's just a minor thing tons of businesses have. Restrooms are always clean. Breakfast is always a delicious choice. Based on portion Suze and prices though I think they could be slightly lower. Buy I'll continue going back. Love the service. Love the variety. Love the atmosphere 99%

Yelp
A must whenever I am in or even near Des Moines. This has been my go to brewery in this city for years and for good reasons. They have solid core beers and a huge selection of rotating brews that have playful touches. As a huge connoisseur of PB&Js, I have to admit that their recent line of PB&J sours were wonderful. Their fruited sours did not disappoint either and if you're more into a typical light beer or IPA, they have that too.
google avatar

Jaci S.

Yelp
Incredibly amazing sours, we come for the flights and stay for the seasonal burgers and desserts!!! Eagerly awaiting their s'mores desserts return. They're always staying up to date with trends rn as they have Dubai chocolate treats rn as I post! The service has been AMAZING. Everytime we've been here, they're incredibly patient, answer all the questions for on draft beers and the service is speedy to have food arriving at our tables. All of the food comes out hot and amazing and you'll for certain have food to take home!! Only let down is incredibly loud - obviously nothing they can do about that, however if you're sitting down with family and friends to have conversations know that the bar is your best bet, as the main seating you will have to yell!

Yelp
We love the variety of beer on tap. Always up for a great stout. Currently they have their cicada killer on tap. They also have the one with adjunct. This time around it had hazelnut, coffee and chocolate. Talk about flavor. I got the one with adjuncts and my companion got the regular one. It did need a few minutes to open up once I got mine. It was delicious. Right now they have "pre-picked" flights. One was iPad and one was "fair selection" of sours. You can still also create your own flight. So many choices.....and unfortunately (at least me) I can only drink so many beers in a visit. Most beers are available in can form to go. Some go super fast, so if you want a new release head there right away

Yelp
We enjoyed Barn Town recently. We enjoyed ourselves, although there were some blips. We arrived around 6:00, and were told it would be about a 20 minute wait. They were pretty spot on. Tip: We waited in our car and had a nice conversation. They text you. This was perfect, because the table next to us was LOUD. Clearly, they enjoyed the beer.... I had the roast beef flatbread. It had a lot of flavor, but I wish the horseradish was more prominent. That would have given the dish a nice extra kick. My wife enjoyed a burger. She thought it was cooked well, and she enjoyed the flavor of the bacon jam. She thought the whole burger was well-balanced and worth the money. Our server was simply awesome. He was knowledgeable, funny, and "on" all night. I can't believe I've forgotten his name because he has a really funny story about it. A good experience. Just, the place is loud. We are going back.

Yelp
The patio is much quieter than the inside. Nicely shaded too but still hot with the weather we had. Glad we chose the patio though as it was a better place for conversation. Staff were very busy but maintained great hospitality and attention. This is probably the best wedge salad I've ever had. Loved the fixings! Fascinating drink list had something for everyone (except maybe a stout).

Yelp
Pre-made patty burger. Food was not great and it is higher priced. Service was great!

Yelp
Today's experience was definitely better than my first visit. I tried the Bacon and Brie Burger and LOVED it!!!! The combination accentuated by the balsamic reduction and the pretzel bun was impressive. Service was so good on this visit. My only negative remark is how cold the interior is during the winter. With cement floors and cold surfaces it was uncomfortable. I noticed many diners kept their coats on.

Yelp
I've had their beers at a few places around town (mainly The Hall), so I thought I'd stop back in and give them another chance. I'm glad I've gone back in, because every experience has been better than my initial visit... The sours are amazing! On Sunday, I had the HawaiIowan Punch and the Peach Pie Drips. The punch tasted just like the stuff your mom used to serve your after-school friends. You couldn't taste the alcohol, which is both good and bad. With all the praise I'm heaping on this particular beer it was outshined by the Peach Pie Drips. This beer had the perfect balance of graham cracker, vanilla, cinnamon, and peach flavor. I bought a 4-pack of it to take home with me. I gave one to a friend (begrudgingly) because he drove on a business trip. He was equally impressed. I'm sad that apparently I had the last beer out of the keg. I hope they just meant they needed to brew more--and not that its disappearing. The service has been perfunctory on every visit and the fries I had on my most recent visit were both plentiful for $4 and seasoned appropriately.

Yelp
We sat at the bar and Candace was great! There was a rude guy sitting next to us (not Candace's fault, he was just that kind of person) and she handled him great. Good food, good beer. Will definitely be back!

Yelp
My husband and I have been wanting to try this place for a while so we went here for dinner. We got here during the dinner rush so the place was very crowded. They told us it would be a half hour wait and that was about how long it was before we got a table. I ordered the Bulgogi cheesesteak sandwich with fries and my husband got the pastrami sandwich with fries. I liked my sandwich a lot and the kimchi in it was pretty good. My husband didn't care for his sandwich and thought the slaw didn't add much flavor to the sandwich. I tasted his sandwich and agree that it wasn't the best. The pastrami had a lot of fat on it and had a flavor that tasted kind of funny to me. The fries weren't very crispy but tasted ok. The food came out pretty quickly and we were pleased about that. The noise level is very loud in the restaurant. It's your typical bar type of setting with TVs around the room and loud music playing. There were some smaller tables and some larger tables that people just shared. It was very lively and very busy. They don't have printed menus and you need to scan the QR code on the table to see the menu. When we got our bill they overcharged us $.50 for my sandwich but we didn't tell the waitress because we didn't want to argue over $.50. My food was decent but not outstanding. The place was like a lot of other bars in town with nothing so remarkable to make us want to come back again.

Yelp
I hadn't been to Barn Town in a while, but a old co-worker and I decided to get together a few nights ago and Barn Town is near where he lives in Waukee. We arrived at about 400 PM. The menu had completely changed since the last time I'd sat at one of their tables. I ordered the bulgogi cheesesteak with over roasted brussel sprouts and an iced tea, My friend ordered the crab rangoon flatbread and an iced tea. Service was great! We got seated right away, our drinks came fast and were refilled regularly. Our server checked on us throughout the meal. The food hit the table after a relatively short wait. I had questioned to myself if a comfort food centric place like Barn Town should be serving a Korean fusion dish like a bulgogi beef cheesesteak with kimchi... Isn't that a little outside of their wheelhouse? Maybe... Was it absolutely delicous? YES! It was. One of the better sandwiches I've had recently in the metro. One I'd definitely recommend to anyone visiting Barn Town. Would I make a special trip just for this sandwich? I think I would. Good food and service! I should probably get over here a little more often... Our bill was just over $40 before tip. And if you are a veteran Barn Town does offer a 10% veteran's/military discount. https://www.barntownbrewing.com/

Yelp
I have been visting Iowa for the fair for 10+ years. This is the first time I've stopped here and I will be back on every trip-probably multiple days! The poutine, burgers, and wonton chicken sandwich are a must! We had flights and multiple beers-all were worth writing home about. The staff was super attentive and wonderful. Macy our server was amazing and we had multiple workers check on us while we were there. I can't recommend this place enough! The 10 TVs playing different sports and the unique lighting made for a cool atmosphere.

Danielle L.

Yelp
Beer selection was secomd to none, wait staff was courteous and timely and food was delicious.

Yelp
Amazing burgers and free food on your birthday. Service was fast, and the atmosphere was amazing. Lots of fun stuff hanging on the walls.

Yelp
I've heard lots of talk about barntown and I finally got the chance to eat here. I ordered the braised brisket sando with sweet potatoes and ranch. The portions are big here so I definitely had leftovers. The service here is also friendly. The restaurant is in an open space so you can hear a lot of conversations wherever you're sitting or standing. Location: this is in a strip mall looking area. There aren't any stores though, just restaurants from what I can tell. And the parking lot is usually packed. When I entered we did have a wait. If you're a drinker you're more than open to purchase one of their speciality drinks or beers at the bar. I think we waited maybe 20-ish minutes for a table for 2 people. This was on a weeknight so safe to say this place is very popular.

Brinnon S.

Yelp
My server referred to our dinner order as "din-din," and he referred to my drink order as a "drinky-poo". Although the evening posed a variety of logistical challenges (enough to elaborate on, but I refrain from detail) the initial service was unprofessional & insulting. Baby-talking your customers doesn't seem like a good way to make an impression. I went from "buddy", to "brother," when our wait time for our food, exceeded an hour. I don't mind waiting, but I do mind being infantilised.
google avatar

Kelli R.

Yelp
Pleasant, not too loud. There are a lot of sours if you are a sour lover. Not too many hazy IPAs but the Neon is light and refreshing. I actually tried several sours. The cherry almond cup cake was good. Good delicious. I wish I had been more hungry as the special on Wed, chicken tender, looked amazing. I look forward to going back! Service was wonderful and inviting. Great ambiance.

Yelp
Solid menu of interesting burger options. I was in town for work and someone mentioned a cinnamon roll with chili, so when I saw a Pork belly cinnamon roll burger with chili on the menu, I had to try it! I have to say though, I was disappointed that it was a pork belly roll done like a cinnamon roll and there was no delicious dough with icing. Otherwise it was very good and paired well with the brussel sprouts and a flight. Very fast and friendly service, and I appreciated that you can order one burger patty instead of two. We got there early, but it filled in quickly on electik day Tuesday with locals.

Yelp
Vibes: Lively with conversations echoing throughout the restaurant. I was there on Saturday; late afternoon and it was packed! Perfect place for families to enjoy each other and watch some sports as well. Service: Amazing service! The server was hilarious and kept us entertained with interactions, jokes, etc. He made food suggestions that ended up being spot on. Food: The star of the experience was the amazing food! I love homemade French fries cooked well done and they did not disappoint! They were cooked perfectly and paired well with my Crab Rangoon Chicken sandwich which was also delicious. The chicken was cooked thoroughly and crispy. The Rangoon cream cheese spread was not overpowering at all. Although I didn't try the dessert, the pictures looked amazing! Pricing: Affordable. Location/Parking: Barn town Brewing is in a strip mall with plenty of parking which makes me happy. There is easy access in/out which is nice. Can't wait to go back and explore more menu items soon!

Yelp
Worst experience ever! We are brewery people and their hours said Sundays open till 10pm. At 9pm we were denied service, saying they had already called "last call". We had been sitting at the bar since before 8:30pm and "last call" was never called. At 9:14 we got kicked out because we were "complaining" about the hours. They messed up our food order and we didn't even get to finish our beers. We were not treated properly.

Yelp
Great drinks! Excellent service! We didn't eat there, but I would imagine that it is just as good as their drinks.

Heather M.

Yelp
Great service and great gluten free sours. They are diabolical they are so tasty. Food is great too!

Leca D.

Yelp
The service was very good. The food was served good and hot. The ambiance was nice for a restaurant & brewery not super loud even though quite busy.

Yelp
Good food, different options, lots of beverage options. Went rather late and it was still hopping on a Tuesday night.

Yelp
Visiting the area for the first time and enjoyed a beee and meal at BTB. Unique beers. We sat at bar and staff Ernie was working his tail off with beverage and food orders. Pleasant guy. Homemade chips with pimento cheese dip good. I had veggie burger that was tasty and spouse had chicken bacon ranch wrap that was filling. Space has cool farm decor and lots to look at. A bit loud. Very busy inside and outdoor on a Monday night.
google avatar

Yelp
My husbands family likes to go here, and I always tag along for the vibes . The beer is good, I like the caramel apple! The food sits in my stomach like a hard rock baby, but everything else is very nice!

Yelp
We had a short wait but hostess was very kind and helpful and we just wandered around the strip mall while we waited. I got the French Onion Melt and side salad. Very good. My b/f got the Neon beer and the '55 burger and fries. Great smash burger. Forgot to get a picture of his meal. He said the beer selection was really interesting. Our server was friendly and funny. We will go back for sure.

Yelp
Restaurant is very popular. Interesting and fun beer list (pickle, cotton candy, and the regulars). Food images in menu were amazing, most notably the bacon. We had three people and all found the food to be simply okay: bland. Service was friendly and efficient.

Yelp
Was so excited to eat here and try new things, unfortunately it wasn't up to our expectations. The bulging I beef snd tikka masala burger were both over spiced. Really over powering. The max and cheese was really good, but came out cold twice. Our waitress was wonderful and super helpful. She hace Is a beer token for next time we come on to make up for the cold food. We will definitely try again with some more standard entrees. The burgers looked good and brunch photos look awesome. Hopefully when we come back we will have better luck.

Yelp
This place is crazy popular. Friends meeting up on a Friday evening. 20 minute wait. They have igloos out front you can rent. We weren't there for that. Had to try and stay out of the way as the place is packed and not really good for room for waiting when it's cold outside. Got seated in about the right time frame. Waitress was on it. Got the cheeseball and crab ragoon bread for appetizer. My girlfriend loves the cheese balls and I love the dipping sauce they come with. Tonight's food choice was suggested by the waitress. I got the barntown burger. It had pickled onion I think. It was spicy and delicious. This place always seems to be busy. I really like their beer options. I am a sucker of their sours and highly recommend.

Yelp
We were at Pella Tulip Festival earlier in the day. Checked into motel and googled breweries and places to eat. My sister likes breweries, and I no longer drink. Barntown was about 20 minutes away in West Desmoines. The parking lot was full, and we were 15 on the waitlist with around 40 minutes' wait. Got a water and sat outside. We were seated and ordered poutine, burger with bacon jam, granny smith apple, and Brussel sprouts as a side. The poutine came out, and cheese curds were cold. Informed server, and his response was that they are supposed to be that way. Just stirred them around the gravy more and were edible. My burger was good, but pretzel bun was hard. I just ate some of it with a fork. The Brussels were good. Got a box to bring back to the hotel and finished up the following night. The decor inside was farm signs and farm theme. The food was made from scratch. I bought a cool can glass. Stickers were free. 4/5 due to food hiccups.

Mikala S.

Yelp
I have been coming for years I absolutely love this place. Atmosphere is always positive and enjoyable and the staff is great. The server we had was named Popo I believe and he was GREAT!! Definitely recommend not only the beers but food too!
google avatar

Alyssa V.

Yelp
AMAZING! I love all of the different variety food that you can get. The flavor is spot on with all of it. The service was nice and the inside had a nice modern barn and rustic feel. I love that they have their own merch you can buy. A lot of their beers were really good and nice to have such a variety to taste and choose from. THE FRIES ARE THE STAR OF THE SHOW!!! Homemade fries! If every restaurant and fast food chain could come even a little close the world would be a better place. The fries stole the show.

Yelp
Good place to bring kids since there were a lot when we were there. We had a group of 6, some ordered brunch and some ordered lunch. Most of the table got the bruschetta chicken salad which was good. My partner got the skillet and he said it was over cooked and would not order it again. The kimchi bacon flatbread looked okay but not worth the price. The breakfast burrito also looked okay but nothing special. Don't get the michalada - the Bloody Mary mix is terrible with too much seasoning. It's like drinking black pepper. The ambiance is like a barn. Very rustic but also seems messy. I don't usually recommend this restaurant, but again, it's a good place to take family. Nothing wrong with it, there's just nothing spectacular about it.

Yelp
Friday night my partner and I went to Barn Town with another couple for some dinner. We arrived at peak dinner rush so we anticipated a wait for a table. We were told about an hour or so for a table which wasn't a problem. We ended up going to a bar around the corner and was sent a text when it was available. Our waitress and service was great despite being busy and a long night for the staff. They did a great job! We ordered the soft pretzels and cheese curds for appetizers and both were delicious. Seriously, the cheese curds here are legit! For an entree, I ordered the French Onion Patty Melt and it was so good. Plenty of meat in every bite and the au jus to dip the sandwich in was so flavorful. I also ordered a full pour of the Hawaiiown (fruit punch sour) and regretted that decision. A taster of it would have been ideal rather than a 13oz tulip so that's my fault. Atmosphere was a very nice pub type of feel. We sat at a long table and shared it with other guests with some space in between. It was lively and fun for a Friday night.
google avatar

Michaela S.

Yelp
The food here was absolutely amazing. We ordered fried pickles and pretzels for our appetizers and the pretzels came out piping hot and the pickles were fried perfectly. The pickles didn't have as much batter as I prefer, but I still enjoyed it a lot. I ordered the bacon and brie burger and also had a little bit of the french onion sandwich. Both were incredible and I can recommend the bacon and brie enough. It was sweet, salty, and juicy. Perfect if you like something sweet and savory at the same time. Also, their merch is amazing. They create shirts and other items based on their current brews, along with a couple Barn Town branded items. Loved them all.

Yelp
First brewery on my latest Des Moines, Iowa trip was Barn Town Brewing. Their bar is impressive with a truck cutout hanging behind the wall of taps. And they have a good menu and quality that rivals any pub. I let the beertender choose an IPA for me, but I took the three other flight spots. Nothing Is As It May Seem: A Hazy New England IPA with Sabro, Idaho 7, Mosaic, and Citra hops. Very tropical with flavors of passion fruit, orange citrus, and a hint of coconut.  Barleywine: Their 2021 Barleywine is a beautiful expression of molasses sweetness, mild caramel / toffee, and a huge malty / boozy finish. The alcohol is warming, but not burning or off putting. Enjoyable even in the 100 degree weather I experienced. Rainbow Sherbet Sour: A Gluten Free Sour with raspberry sherbet, orange sherbet, lime sherbet, tangerine, and cara Cara oranges added. Not overly thick with a low tartness that gives some contrast to the sherbet sweetness. Tastes just like rainbow sherbet. Little Middy: A classic Czech Pilsner. Very easy drinking with good malt and spicy hop flavor while still being crisp, dry, and clean. ___________

Yelp
We stopped here on a recommendation from a friend. We were very disappointed in our experience. The cheese curds were okay, they were warm. My husband hated the cider mosa and I hated the barn a Rita, it had no flavor. I had the farmers skillet. It was very dry. The eggs were hard. It was as if it had been sitting out for ten mins. My husband got the biscuits and gravy. He said the biscuits were extremely hard, so was my toast. He did say the gravy sauce was good. I asked our waitress multiple times for water which she finally gave me when I was almost done with my food. I saw another waitress bringing someone a burger and the bun was burnt. When we got our bill, adding one small over easy egg to my husbands biscuits and gravy was TWO DOLLARS. We do not recommend.

Yelp
Had above average bar food. Large outdoor patio. Great variety of beer selection. Rustic retro vibe.

Yelp
Went for dinner on Saturday. Very busy. Not sure if they do reservations but if not prepare to wait. They told us 15-20 minutes but we were seated much quicker. Great indoor/outdoor seating arrangements. The large selection of brew and drinks is impressive and you can buy their brews to go. We had burgers and they weee great. Kid friendly and Loud! Rons of TVs for game watching. Would go back to try other menu items and more of their brews. Cool place. Very good service too.

Yelp
Food is inconsistent. Chicken sandwiches are like biting into a piece of hormone infused flesh. Course Gristle need I say more. Service, hit and miss. Ambiance LOUD!! The beer is good.

Yelp
I went to the movies and before the movie started I saw a commercial about this restaurant/brewery. I decided to attend and I was excited because of how it was described. (Clearly, commercials work). When I arrived, I was not greeted so I decided to just walk to the bar. The bar was no different. I sat there for a minutes and finally I was assisted. I ordered a cheeseburger and I added bacon . Bacon makes every better! The burger was cooled to ordered and it was very flavorful and juicy. I wish the service was as good as the burger. Sometimes you can't have it all. Not aire that I will be back but the burger was worth the calories.

Yelp
This place is so freaking good. We live in Omaha, but were visiting friends in Des Moines and they suggested this place. So we gave it a try.... we have now been back twice. Everything we have had has been so delicious! *First let's talk appetizers!* Bavarian Pretzels- these were amazing! The pretzels were soft and had such great flavor. We do half with salt and half with everything seasoning... next time we will do all with everything seasoning. The cheddar sauce was awesome, but that bourbon honey mustard was out of this world. Dips & Chips- I am a HUGE fan of pimento cheese so I knew I had to try this and it did NOT disappoint. The garlic cream cheese dip kind of has an odd consistency but the flavor is on point!! The house chips were perfection. *On to main courses!* Gyro Burger - the flavor was pretty good! Burger was a little over cooked, but all in all still a really good burger. French Onion Melt- I was SO excited to try this. It was very good, my only complaint is that the cheese was not really melted like the picture showed and I would have preferred that, but it was still a great choice. Poutine Burger- Full disclosure, I did not try this one, but our friends ordered it and said it was amazing! Crab Rangoon Chicken Sando- OMG this thing was everything I wanted it to be and more. It was so dang good, I am dreaming about it. It was literally PERFECT! Buffalo Chicken Sando- This was good. There wasn't a ton of chicken on it, so that disappointed me a little, but I would try it again for sure. Mac & Cheese- The mac and cheese is sooooo good. Creamy, cheesy and the noodles they use pack in the cheese so nicely. It is seriously some of the best around!

Yelp
When you ask the locals what Breweries to visit in town, Barn Town is in the top 3 of the list. It has a large restaurant and about 20 items on tap ranging from beer to cider and barleywine. The ambiance is semi-rustic and the food comes out in a tin tray/wooden and it is busy, but not packed, during rush times. We just did beers and appetizers, but everything was delicious. The staff was friendly and attentive. The only issue: we were there in December and it was cold. Most people were wearing their winter coats inside and there was a constant draft from the windows we were sitting next to in our booth. Temperature is an easy fix, but understandably difficult to manage in the midwest at times. Definitely go in and get you some Neon if you like Hazies.

Yelp
My husband and I went on a Friday night and it was packed. We have tried stopping in before but didn't want to wait but we decided to wait tonight. It was about 45 min for a table but worth it. The Root Beer Float was the newest beer and it was delicious! The chicken strips and fries were amazing, so were the pretzel appetizer and my husband said his smokehouse bbq burger was really good as well! Our waiter was so friendly and quick, very attentive without hovering around! I would definitely go back and endure the wait. Can't wait to see what beer they have on tap next.
