Google
Great buying experience. Answered all my questions. Never any pressure to buy. They provide 3 tune-ups with the purchase.

Google
Bernards mounted new tires for my Stingray. Purchased by my father in the late 80's from Bernards. They still had a pair of new old stock red grips. Thank you Bernard's.

Last year I purchased my Schwinn super sport here. This is the shop where you can find anything for your bike and people are cool and always willing to help. Today I’ve done free tune up and bike looks great! 🚴😎😎😎

Google
Such nice people! These guys are like your trusted auto mechanic. We have been in and out of the shop with random bike issues SO many times. They are super helpful. No judgement, regardless of what kind of bike it is or where you got it. My beloved REI bike was stolen this year, and I mourned for months. I tried a Costco bike, but wasn't satisfied. Then covid happened and bikes became insanely hard to come by. So I went to Barnard's and low and behold I was in the right place at the right time. The shop owner was on hand and listened to my budget and my needs, acknowledged them and led me to my new girl. Isn't she a beauty?

Great selection and reasonable prices. Bought several bikes over the years.

Google
This bicycle shop has been in the neighborhood for over a hundred years. The family business is always focused on building and maintaining good relationships with customers and anyone who just needs a little help. I came in to have my bike looked at and they provided me with excellent on the spot care. The entire staff were very friendly and honest. This is really a great place for service and accessories. I would highly recommend this place for anyone who is looking to buy a bike or in need of service.

Google
I got my first bike Schwinn from Barnard’s when they were located at Harlem near South Blvd in Oak Park. I bought my son’s first bike from them at their North Ave. location. Jeff and his brother have always been kind, helpful and so informative. I have gone back to them over the years and always been pleased. I made the mistake of going elsewhere for some repair work on the bike I purchased from Barnard’s. I was told I would be taken care of to which I was not. I found myself returning to Barnard’s. They could not have been kinder and most professional. These guys truly know their bikes and how to maintain them. There is not a better bike shop in the area.

Google
The brothers who own Barnard's truly love bicycles and it shows in their attention to detail and customization of rides for customers. Best bike shop in the area, bar none

Yelp
Family business since 1911. Nice staff. I brought three bikes to them for minor repair. The bikes were fixed same day at reasonable cost. We also purchased a new bike and helmet for my daughter. With the purchase, you receive three free maintenance check ups. A very nice local business to support.

Yelp
I'd heard of this store's century old rep. I have a schwinn e-bike and bought one for my wife. We did not purchase these at Barnards. I was left with the impression that they don't do e-bikes. Which is fine. I get that. Just say it. But they do sell them. We were there for a build finish. Handlebars. Wheel, etc. Guys says it needs bearings adjusted and all this other stuff and he doesn't have a rack, etc. (which I doubt - from factory in box my guess is that's all good to go, but I'm not Greg Lemond.) So, these e-bikes you sell come assembled? Or does someone ride them to you and then they get driven back home. And, I guess you can't service these e-bikes that you sell? This is how big boxes like Dick's bury century old shops. Which is sad.

Yelp
I have bought parts and a bike from here and the people I have delt with are kind and very knowledgeable. This is the best bike shop in my opinion and I'm in the far south suburbs of Chicago. It's over an hour drive for me but we'll worth the visit.

Yelp
Great Bike Shop!...Super Service! ...Great Selection bike accessories ! ...definitely I will be back if I need something for my bike!

Yelp
Great service in doing a tune-up for my kid's bike at a reasonable price. We were told to plan for a 24-hour turnaround after drop off but her bike was actually ready the same day.

Yelp
My hubs and I recently went back to get a flat tire fixed on my daughter's bike. We chose here because of the wonderful service we received a few years ago. This time was a different experience. The service counter guy was condescending and made us feel like we were wasting his time. We asked for a quote to get training wells on her bike. While he gave us a pretty high quote ($45), the standing at the counter next to him made sure to add that the quote didn't include labor costs. His tone was also condescending. If it weren't for the poor service, we would have opted to have the training wheels. We just stuck with the tire repair. The guy who actually did the repair was a dear! He gets 5 stars! The other two gentlemen would get zero stars.

Angel C.

Yelp
These guy's are amazing very helpful had a flat tired changed it up for me less than 5 minutes it was ready , they even gave me advice and gave me a rubber for my bike stand for my own safety ... very professional dudes definitely a 5 star

Yelp
Excellent. Practicing social distancing currently, so we have to wait outside, but they have 2-3 guys constantly come out to help the next customer. Took my sons 16" Pacific Cycle bike for repair as the bottom bracket (part that connects the crank for the pedals) became very loose and I was not able to fix on my own. They suggested to call Pacific Cycle for the part so I called and got the part within 2 days. I brought the bike back, they fixed it within 24 hours. Called me when ready. Great store to buy a bike as well, wide arrange of selection although I believe many stores are out of a few bikes right now.

Yelp
On the recommendation of our local bike shop, we drove an hour each way to Barnards in Oak Park. We were taking our 1965 Schwinn tandem bike to have its seat repaired. Overall, I'm disappointed, I guess I expected more from a bike shop that specializes in vintage Schwinn bike repair. When it was our turn to talk to the bike tech, we described our issue with the bike seat not being able to stay on the bike. We showed the gentleman the original bent metal parts that needed to be be either replaced or "re-bent" so that they would keep the bike seat from falling off. Maybe the email that I sent that was never responded to should have been a sign. Not to mention the lack of confidence that was exhibited when I called to ask if they could fix a retro Schwinn bike seat. The response was "Well I don't know, I'd have to see it." The gentleman's response was "YOU got to find the original un-bent parts on eBay. They don't make those parts anymore, there's nothing WE can do." I thought to myself, but wait that's why I came all the way here, to seek the help of a professional. I've been searching for those parts on eBay for a year and a half, they are rarely available. Hundreds if not thousands of people have likely come to that bike shop with a similar issue. Really? There is nothing you can do? I guess I'd expect that folks that specialize it vintage bike repair would be a bit more creative with their solution. I'm sure the majority of parts for old bikes are not available. Folks that are handy and fix things, often have creative ways to solve problems. I guess It seems the basic mentality of this shop is very narrow and specific. And whiling I'm knocking it because they couldn't help me, maybe that's how they have stayed in business all these years? The experience was disappointing for sure. I'm sure these folks do a good job on the basics like selling bikes and tune ups. But if you have a vintage bike to repair, keep riding till you find a shop that can think "outside the box".

Yelp
I actually mean to give this shop ZERO stars as they aren't deserving of one for the experience my fiance and I had. We went in looking for a specific bike which they did not have. Understandable. But when we asked for a suggestion for a comparable bike the employee (Seemed to be the person in charge - short man with spikey grey hair) kept raising his voice at us saying that that was all he had and that inventory was trickling in from China and talking down to us as if we were clueless that the world was in a pandemic and production was slow. This little man could have easily asked a few questions to find out what our needs were and could have found a solution to make a sale but instead chose to drive two customers (that were ready to buy) out of his shop. Business must be good if he can pick and choose who he sells to.

Yelp
I was recommended to this bike shop as I was told they were very helpful and knowledgeable for first time buyers. That couldn't be further from the truth. I roamed around this store for at least 10 minutes without so much as a greeting. Horrible customer service and a complete waste of time Will not be returning.

Coco P.

Yelp
Thank you sooo much for helping to repair my MTB Roadmaster bicycle. I strongly recommend this shop. Staff was awesome!

Yelp
I'm a bike n00b who got a new bike with presta valve tires instead of standard. In trying to pump one up I broke the valve. I brought the tire in to Barnard's and they had a new tube installed within 10 minutes - $13.80 total for parts and labor - and also showed me how I could convert my standard pump into a presta pump after I asked if I should buy a converter. Very friendly guys here and a relaxed atmosphere that lets you feel comfortable acknowledging what you don't know and asking very basic questions. They just answer the questions rather than giving a condescending lecture. While I was there three other customers came in for various issues - a flat tire, low air pressure and something to do with the bike seat - and all three were treated courteously and quickly. They also sell bikes and I will be back to purchase when I'm in the market.

Yelp
Super fast service! I was told about 3 hours after I dropped off my bike for a tune-up that it was ready. They explained the work that was done, what was inspected and what parts needed replacement. I always appreciate taking the time to explain everything to me. Thanks guys!

Yelp
Barnard's is the best. I bought a bike for my wife here and have had several bikes I own worked on here. The service is fast and reliable and very reasonable. The most important thing I love about Barnard's is that they are honest. They will not push you or try to up sell you anything you don't need. They truly have integrity and I would and do recommend them to friends. It's a bonus for me that I live in Oak Park but one of my best friends lives way out in Darien and he will only bring bike to Barnard's for service. Do yourself a favor and support a local shop with a well deserved great reputation. Go to Barnard's!

Yelp
I am an avid bike rider and I've been going to Barnard's for 30 years. They sell and service all kinds of bikes, not just Schwinn. They are very friendly and super knowledgeable. They do not try to sell you extra stuff, and in fact I have sometimes had to urge them to sell me something I wanted but did not really need. They are 100% trustworthy and I never have any doubt that I need anything that they recommend. The owners, with a huge amount of experience, are always there and do much of the work. In truth, I would rate them as 7 stars out of 5! Darold Barnum

Yelp
Reading their Yelp reviews is what made me come here to get my first adult bike, and let me tell you, the reviews were accurate! The staff here was extremely friendly and helpful. They let me take out and try as many bikes as I wanted without making me feel bad. I bought a car mount while I was there, and they assembled it for me and even helped me mount it on my car! Theu also mounted my water bottle holder, my bell, and my new seat for me (and then they had me get on the bike and adjusted the seat to the perfect hight! As other yelpers have mentioned, you get three free tuneups with a bike purchase, which is fantastic! This place really has incredible customer service, which is unfortunately getting increasingly rare these days; what's more, though, is that I completely trust the brothers who run this shop to help me get what I need without making unnecessary, extraneous purchases (though there is a part time employee who was a salesman in a previous life, so he might convince you into more purchases if you're not sure of what you need). I would recommend this bike shop to anyone without hesitation. If you're in the market for a bike, at least go check it out!

Susan B.

Yelp
I have a vintage Schwinn bike, that I have had since 5th grade. When someone stole the front tire, they actually found the exact tire for my bike. Over the years they have tuned up my bike, replaced tubes, added a baby seat, and their workmanship is always great. I always recommend Barnard's.

Yelp
Don't be deceived... they've got a great selection in this teeny tiny little bike shop. Whether you're a hardcore biker or a joy rider... this is the place to go find a new set of wheels. These people were AMAZING. They don't attack you as you enter the door and they don't pressure you or make you feel bad when you're looking for something on the lower end of your budget. They know bikes and they care about finding the right bike for each customer. And therefore, they care about YOUR bike. Total Bonus: When you buy your bike from Barnard's Schwinn, they'll give you 3 free tune ups. Shopping Tip: Buy your bike on your birthday and you might even get a free bell like I did :)

Yelp
This bike store has a good selection of bikes starting in the high $200's. Jeffrey Hajduk and Greg Hajduk are the owners, and they 1) really know their stuff, 2) are honest, 3) work at the store, 4) are really friendly What really impressed me was their service. I brought a bike that toppled off my bike rack on the freeway to Dan's Bike Shop in Berwyn, and was told that the wheels and derailleur would have to be replaced, and with parts and labor, I was looking at $250 and may as well replace the bike. When I went to Barnard Schwinn, the guys were able to straighten both tires and merely replace the handlebar for a grand total of $78. The bike looks and rides like new, with a few minor nicks that I would have to point out to you. These fellows were awesome. They were very warm, and even came out and checked my bike rack and gave me some tips.
google avatar

Polentone A.

Yelp
These guys are pretty good at what they do, as they've been in the area for decades and decades. Went here recently for parts, a new 6-gear freewheel. Yup. I bought a new one instead of converting my mint 30-year-old bike into a fixie. These guys know old bicycles, plus all the latest in bike technology. It'll probabaly take you a good hour just to browse the store and all the bikes, both new and vintage, on display. They carry the newest Schwinn models produced in Waterford, WI, including Schwinn's proven racing designs that originate from four decades ago. You don't have to have hot tunes playing and lots of funky decor to sell me a bike. This is the real deal. Barnard's Schwinn is right at Oak Park's northeast corner that juts into Chicago. It's a bit of a walk from the Austin Green line, but the 72 North ave CTA bus brings you to its door, and it's close to the Galewood Metra.

Yelp
A bike store for normal folks. I'm not a super biker. I'm never wearing spandex, i just want to get some groceries or go to the park. The people here didn't try to get me into the cult, they just fixed my bike. They have all the knowledge and skill and no attitude.

Yelp
I was shopping for my first real bike since my grade school Kmart special Huffy bike. I knew I wanted to go a local shop for a variety of reasons: I know they will assemble a good product (as opposed to minimum wage high school kids), back up what they sell, and to support the little guy! Barnard's has been in Oak Park for over 100 years. I'm pretty sure the orange shag carpet inside has been around for 60 years. Man is it sweet. Jeff and Greg are like the Mario and Luigi of bicycles. One even looks like Mario, the other doesn't look like Luigi though. Well anyways to the purchase. Jeff and Greg made it painlessly. They didn't pressure me into getting the latest road bike with a carbon frame and fork and matching wheels. Greg listened to my needs and was able to recommend a perfect Schwinn for me. We a free tune up in 3 months and a free tune up in 2013 and 2014 it was a sweet deal! They even installed some cool water bottle cages while we did the paperwork. I live in Forest Park and they even registered my bike with the city. About a week after I bought the bike I accidentally let it take a fall while it was resting against a wall. I bent the derailer hanger causing a gear to skip. I took it over to them and they fixed it really quick free of charge. I offered to pay but they refused saying "This is why you buy from Barnard's!"

Yelp
Great service, very friendly, generous. I dropped my bike (a Nishiki, not a Schwinn) off here for a tune up. They immediately took it in back and started working on it! When I returned to pick up my bike, I expressed interest in a new seat. Although he was perfectly willing to to sell me a new seat, the owner told me I had a decent one already. So, instead, he spent at least a half hour adjusting my handlebars, seat, etc, so that it would be more comfortable for me! I subsequently returned because the seat adjustment was so tight I couldn't loosen it (even with proper tool). When I stopped in I just asked them if they could loosen the screw. They did it quickly and then gave me the proper allen wrench for free! I will definitely be a lifetime customer (and I, too, love the orange shag carpeting).

Yelp
I'm pitching a show called "Pimp My Bike" and recommending Barnard's as the shop. Not only do they have the coolest, and most comfortable bikes around, but they can also build crazy chopper bikes and fix or repair whatever ails your current ride. Have you heard of Electra bikes? Check them out here. I've got the Hawaiian cruiser featuring Hawaiian flowers on the frame and tire tread, and coaster brakes. It's a one speed that Barnards added three extra speeds to on a handle bar shifter. They also chiseled off part of the bottom of the seat because the bike was too tall for me. They threw in a couple tune ups for free and helped attach the bike rack I purchased for toting my bike to the trails. Now that's service. Did you know Schwinn is making cruisers again? My gramma was so excited she went out and bought one. These guys have all the cool bikes and they are super knowledgeable and friendly. Not only do they know bikes, and how to pimp bikes, but they also know the area trails. They also have a great selection of helmets, bells, gloves, baskets, headlights, and any other gadgets you may need. If you're still looking for a Christmas present for me, I'd really like those super cute saddle bag baskets! Thanks!

Yelp
Decided I wanted a bike to get some exercise and for riding around the Village. Not knowing what I wanted I went over to Barnards Schwinn to see what my options are. It is unbelievable all the bikes and price ranges, I had no idea. Ed showed me different brands, we discussed what I wanted to use the bike for, etc. He told me to think about it, come back and I could take a bike out for a spin to see what I felt was right for me. No pushing of any particular brand, they sell many more brands than Schwinn. They offer good warranty, tune ups etc. He spent a lot of time with me and I appreciated that. Once I make my mind up I will definitely go back and take one for a spin. I haven't been on a bike in probably 30 years so I'm hoping it will be in an enclosed area LOL The one thing I do know is I want a beach cruiser - love the looks, now do I want with multiple speeds, single speed, chrome fenders, bell, streamers, etc. I did stop at another local bike shop to see what they offered and the Electra Townie was the main bike pushed at me because they didn't have any other cruiser type of bikes. I was looking at a green Townie (for the color) and someone came running over and said it was sold and put a tag on it. Oh well whatever, when my decision is made I will definitely purchase from Barnard's.

Yelp
This place has lots of things going for it. Not the least of which is its shag carpeting, Yes, you read that correctly, shag freaking carpeting. Visit the store just for that, and it's very likely you'll end up riding out on a shiny new bike. On to their bikes. . . These guys are a smaller shop, but they do a great job of keeping a good selection of bikes in stock. That seems to be the problem with lots of smaller business is figuring out just the right mixture of inventory, these guys have clearly figured it out. . .There are no bike hipsters here, no pretension, and no attitude. In the bike world, that goes a long way. For my part, they were able to find a bike for my freakishly short inseam. . . which is a challenge most bike shops have been hard pressed to meet.
google avatar

Jessica L.

Yelp
What an awesome experience! I rode over here hoping to get a smaller travel pack. Instead I walked out with a smaller pack but also a new saddle and water bottle. I also plan to head back for a bike computer. The best part is, when I inquired they told me when to come so they could put it on my bike right away, and they told me not to spend more than $30 - it would get me what I need. Someone came and helped me right away. He gave me great riding tips and also some suggestions about local roads to avoid. He put my saddle on immediately (for free) and made sure it was what I was looking for. I felt the prices were really reasonable for a local bike shop. They were busy and lots of people were buying/picking up bikes. I definitely plan to go back. I am afraid they are going to feed into my already intense shopping addiction for all things bike....
google avatar

Ramona D.

Yelp
Excellent customer service! I called a few bike shops about installing a rack on an old bike, and was told they can't do it. The guys at Barnard's Schwinn didn't even hesitate, they had the right adapters and they told me to take the bike and they will do it for 10$!! And they did . Quick and quality work! Thank you!
google avatar

Karen C.

Yelp
Oh Barnard's, I adore thee. I brought my bike in for my one year free tune-up (when you buy with them you get perks baby). Keep in mind it is May and everyone is bringing in their bikes to get tuned up. How long did it take you wonder. Well, it took a day. One single solitary day people! I have co-workers that brought their bikes to places near where they live and the usual was a week. HA! Fools! I know the scoop daddy-o. Take your bike to Barnard's Schwinn.
google avatar

Alex H.

Yelp
We've bought 3 bikes for the family here over the last few years and the 4th is coming this week. Came here to try to support a locally-owned business and have stayed for the customer service and selection, especially for cruisers, BMX, mountain bikes. The place is packed to the gills with bikes and they order every week to keep things fresh. We have purchased a Schwinn mountain bike, an Electra Townie cruiser a Free Agent Maverick (bmx) and an Electra Hawaii (kids cruiser). We have are not road bike people, we are regular bike people who want to ride comfortably and reliably around town together, so we have no comment on Barnard's road bike cred... I do like all the really interesting old bikes they have on display, with the old chain locks hanging just so... As for family bike-buying experience, it has been consistently excellent. Four different salespeople have helped us, and all had the right temperment and approach to help us make decisions when we've walked in there not knowing at all what we wanted to get. And when we wanted something they didn't have on the floor, they've ordered it and called us when it's in. Or, they suggested OTHER SHOPS to us to find a bike that was discontinued (we did find the bike where they pointed us, but came back and chose Barnard's option in the end). Particularly, I have to commend the sales people on their ability to deal with kids' decision-making, which is tricky, to say the least. They also do a good job of talking to kids about basic bike stuff - kickstands, braking, proper helmet position, etc.
google avatar

Susan B.

Yelp
Thank you Barnard Schwinn for hanging in there all these years providing great bikes, accessories and excellent service. These guys know their bikes and are eager to help you get the best out of your bike. They have provided my family with many bikes and friendly service for years.

Ofelia C.

Yelp
What a wonderful experience..... a friend told me about Barnards Schwinn and I'm sooo glad I listened! Barnard himself assisted me in finding the perfect bike @ the perfect price after he listened patiently to what I wanted..... and I talk a lot .... not only I purchased a great bike @ a great price for my needs; I also have lifetime warranty on it and like 3 free tuneups!!!!! They just got themselves another loyal customer!

E J.

Yelp
Bought a coda sport here. Good guys - fair price. Positive experience and felt like they genuinely care about their customers. Also three free tune ups is pretty big value.

Yelp
I've brought many a bikes and parts to this shop and they always do a great job to keep me riding. One of the last wheels I brought in I was told by another bike shop after they kept it for a week that my rim was Unfixable. I took it here and they accepted the challenge and managed to make the rim true, change out a few odds and ins and I was riding on a freshly tuned up wheel within the hour. Great guys with great minds. Cheers to you guys!

E W.

Yelp
We use Barnard's for all of our bike needs! We've purchased four bikes in the past few years and have been incredibly impressed by their professionalism and service. They have an impressive amount of children's bikes in all sizes and many fun helmets! This is a great little neighborhood shop, check them out!

Yelp
I can see now why this shop gets such good reviews. I stopped by this morning, without calling first, to get a flat fixed. Guy knocked it out in under 15 minutes! Even greased my chain and adjusted my brake! Great service! Will definitely go back again!

K M.

Yelp
Great service, plenty of choices and the customer service is great! Jeff was very informative and patiently answered all my questions. Not only did I end up buying a bike, my husband bought one as well. Definitely the Bike Shop to go to!
google avatar

Mary M.

Yelp
This place is GREAT! The staff are friendly, honest, and really want to help you find the bike that's the best fit for you (even if that means not buying it through them). I came to this place after a horrible experience at Oak Park Cyclery, and was so impressed with the selection, the knowledgeable, friendly, and helpful staff, and the top-rated customer service. This place is, hands down, the best place to buy a bike in Chicago!
google avatar

Michelle R.

Yelp
Had a great experience here today buying a new bike. Jeff was very knowledgeable and patient while helping me figure out the best type of bike for me (and my wonky back). They offer three free tune ups with a bike purchase, which is a nice perk. I'm happy to support a long-standing local business and feel confident they will be there for any bike help I may need in the future.

Yelp
The worst they ripped my dad off and messed up a kickstand part, and the big guy caught an attitude after my dad told him what was wrong.

Yelp
Experiencing Jeff and Greg's relationship with Schwinn and all things biking is awesome. They just custom built my new Gunnar and my first ride was today on Salt Creek Trail. It rocked and so do they. They listened carefully to my needs, were equally as excited as I was to build it and nailed all the details on my bike. We buy our kids' bikes here, do repairs here, buy equipment, and soak up their vintage collection of Schwinns. There is nowhere else to buy a bike- they carry all kinds. The one thing I don't have from the shop is one of their killer Barnard's classic t-shirts which I will most certainly pick up the next time I'm in the store.

Yelp
Got a flat so I went here to get new a new tube and bought an extra since they were just $7. I do deliveries on my bike so it's always good to have extra tubes. After fixing my flat and riding around the next time I had work, I realized my wheel was bent so I went back a few days later to buy a wheel. I brought my messed up wheel in because I wasn't sure what size it was, I don't know much about bikes tbh. They told me they had to order me a wheel because they didn't have the size I needed and told me to bring the wheel back cause they'll switch it out for me. So the wheel came in a less than a week later, I get to the shop and Greg complains about having to switch the wheel out, I could have done it myself, only reason I brought my bike in was cause they told me they'll switch it for me. Besides that, they ordered the wrong kind of wheel forcing me to buy yet another tube. I have a fixed gear bike and the wheels take standard tubes, Greg ordered a fixie wheel that takes only prisma tubes so I ended up having to buy a new tube when I literally just bought 2 standard tubes from them last week. Minor mistakes but still annoying since I had to spend more than expected. At least the guy at the counter was nice and happy to help and I guess I got free labor. ‍ plus they were willing to still let me get my wheel even if I didn't make it before to the shop before they closed.

Yelp
Stores a mess, dirty, clutter every where, probably a fire hazard. These people are very rude and don't appreciate your business. If you want great service from people who treat you like Family.. Go to BikeFix 310 lake street in Oak Park. Curt and Bill will literally answer any question you want and not make you feel stupid for asking...

Yelp
Awesome, tons of bikes from obscure all the way to Schwinn. My sister and I stopped in on a whim, chatted up one of the owners, and left having bought two Electra Townie 3-speeds. The owner patiently showed us a multitude of bikes, explained the differences, and talked a bit on the shops history. Many folks filtered in and out while we were there from an older roadie couple to the neighborhood kid with a flat. Nice for a shop open since 1911... Also, important to note. My sister wanted the seat and grips of another Townie bike of a different year/model and the owner said "no problem, I'll just swap them out for you". Great shop, pretty busy, fun stuff to look at - including the orange shag carpet! *** Picked up bikes today, Jeff helped us get them in the car and explained the Barnard's service plan. I also sent a friend in with her mis-fit road bike from another shop - she was happy to report she got the same awesome service and she didn't feel pressured to buy a bunch of new stuff. Nice.

Yelp
This store has the most condescending staff imaginable. It is not a place to bring families looking for bikes for kids. I think that they were annoyed that I was even in the store with kids. My experience was on Saturday, August 23, 2008. I came into the store looking for some assistance on a bike for my 3 year old son. The person behind the counter could not have been ruder, or tried to make me feel more stupid. If looking for bikes for kids of any age, find another place in the area. This is not the store. Oh, by the way - parking here sucks - street parking on North Ave is the only real option. I then went to Arts Cycling at Cermack and Ridgeland, which was amazing - totally recommend them.

Yelp
This bike shop was pretty cool. Very nice selection here, on the pricey side, but the quality is great. The two guys that work there are pretty easy going and extremely helpful.

Yelp
My sister and I came in to look at unicycles and Jeff and Greg were friendly, super helpful and took the time to educate and inform us about those cycles as well as some others we had our eyes on. They have a wide variety of bikes and accessories packed into the shop - and do what they do with a smile. Recommended!

Yelp
I did not get anyone's name; but of the three gentlemen working there I interacted with two while the other very patiently sold a bike to a family with a little boy torn between two different bikes. Back to me, I was helped by a very friendly guy wearing a hat to get some parts for both of my daughters bikes, at some point the mechanic came from the back to join us. I walked out with everything that I needed and as a satisfied customer. I will be returning.
