Might be one of the better restaurants in Barolo! The food was really yummy!
The bread with anchovies was so tasty I was almost full already. However I still managed to get through all the courses and still made sure I could have dessert which did not disappoint either.
The baked lamb shank was so well cooked it almost fell apart and the gelato al Barolo Chinato…. My god it was good!
Will definitely come back!

Barolando offers very good food with great flavors and quality ingredients. However, the portions are on the smaller side, so it’s best to plan on ordering an appetizer, a main course, and perhaps a dessert to fully enjoy the experience. Overall, a nice spot to taste local cuisine.

Really great food here. We stumbled upon this place looking for a restaurant for lunch near the Marchesi di Barolo winery.
It was white truffle season so we got that for lunch. Their prices were less expensive than the restaurant where we had dinner at in Alba. The taglioni dish with white truffle was absolutely delicious!
Everyone was happy with their food. The complimentary breads and mountain butter were so good! We are used to having butter with our bread so we miss it being in Italy. This butter was creamy and melted right into the bread.
We didn't have reservations. They were able to seat us. Waiter was very nice. Everyone working there seems nice.

The food was absolutely delightful. Looked great and tasted even better. The white butter and bread were to die for! The service impeccable - polite and helpful suggestions as we are vegetarian. Great wine list, amazing food, cute outdoor set up, perfect italian experience I’d say. Best meal we’ve had in the region so far, will probably go back before we leave.

Seriously one of the best meals that I have ever had. The cream puff tiramisu was very interesting. The ravioli (not photographed) was delicious. And the truffles venison was out of this world.

An amazing dinner , everything was perfect , from the bread to each dish. Amazing flavors , fun and intimate ambiance and great service. By far the best dinner we had in piedmont. Will definitely come back to try the other dishes.

We had an absolutely delicious dinner here. Every dish was great, not only in taste, but also in its presentation. Much better than what you'd expect from the unassuming looking decor. Even the bread was great.
Favourites included the Artichoke starter, the mushroom pasta, and the tiramisu in puff pastry, which was extraordinary.

Had an amazing dinner at Barolando. The cuisine was elevated with beautifully plated dishes and an extensive wine list. Food and drink were reasonably priced. Every dish was excellent. Staff were friendly and hospitable. Would recommend booking before hand as it tends to fill up fast, especially on weekends.

Lunch was very busy, but being there at 12:00 got us an outside table.

Yelp
Barolando is located within the heart of the Barolo village. Barolando is nearby a beautiful castle and is the most perfect spot to make a pit stop to grab some yummy food and iconic Barolo wine. On this trip, I learned that small fish like anchovies and sardines are commonly served items in the Italian diet. They are extremely flavorful and were a delightful surprise. My favorite item here has to be their cod gnocchi! The gnocchi was artfully made and each bite was a burst of chewy dough.
One thing I also learned was that the Barolo region also has white wine! I really enjoyed getting to explore the Arneis white wines produced in this region!
What we ate:
Green Cantabrian Sea Anchovies, Alpine butter and pan brioches
Beef tartare and "Burrata" cheese
Cod gnocchi in roux of potatoes and leek, cuttlefish ink and black truffle
Risotto with Barolo wine and creamy Langa blue cheese

Yelp
You can not go wrong with Barolando. The last review complained about a waiter not speaking English and no Olive oil being served. Well, we had the owner providing wine recommendations and they serve a home made whipped butter with three types of bread including whole wheat focaccia, homemade bread with raisins and walnuts and breadsticks dusted in corn. We sat outside basking in the sun and we were treated like special guests. The owner ever provided a purse holder because in Italy you never leave your lovely purse on the floor.

Yelp
We stumbled across this restaurant as we toured Barolo. The staff (really a small family) were so welcoming, handpicking wines and guiding us through the menu. Everything felt local and fresh, and every dish was so well executed and flavorful without feeling stuffy. Loved it!

Yelp
Cosy located in the heart of Barolo, perfect place to sit and watch people passing by. The service was though very slow and the waiter seamed to be stressed and didn't listen to our whole order before he ran away. He also forgot to bring bread, olive oil and we had to go inside and ask for salt and pepper. They are not that good at English.
The risotto with cheese was good, but the seasonal veggie was nothing to recommend (fried potatoes and zucchini, very salty). My partner ordered mozzarella and tomatoes and the risotto with Barolo and thought both dishes were ok. They have 5-7 Barolo wines and the one we ordered was good!
