What a cute spot to enjoy your time with friends or family. There is plenty of space and the staff is wonderful. We loved the outside patio and the Cabernet. The location is great in historic Downtown McKinney and there is a lot of great shopping you could enjoy after your wine tasting. You definitely need to check out this place

There is no lack of wineries or wine bars in McKinney and each has its own personality. Even if you have a favorite, I highly suggest visiting them all. Barons Creek is spacious and has a long list of wines. Their staff is friendly and attentive. April and Kimberley made suggestions based on what we said we liked and were spot on. With comfortable couches and pockets of places to gather, it’s perfect for individuals, couples, or groups. They also have fun events. (We’re going to music bingo tonight.) Their tasters are a great way to figure out what you like or just tell the staff what you normally drink and they’ll make great suggestions.

Barons Creek Tasting Room is in a great location, has a very comfortable outdoor patio and a nice selection of wines. Today my friend and I stopped by after shopping for a glass. The server brought out our two glasses and it was obvious that mine was poured quite a bit less than my friend who is the one that noticed. I didn’t take a sip as I wanted to show the server. She didn’t come back out after waiting for about 7-8 minutes. I went in with the glass, told her what my concern was and she said told me they aren’t allowed to pour past the two stars. My glass still had room before the stars but she tilted it to hit the stars. I was so surprised by her reaction. I told her I probably couldn’t come back again. I learned she is the manager- couldn’t she just add a few drops? Very disappointing experience. There are plenty of other places to get wine in McKinney.

Stopped in for a first time tasting at this location a day ago and place was completely empty on the inside and even though, we were still started off with bad/rude costumer service, served one wine from the tasting menu, and because of the uninterested server who just poured and walked away, didn’t give us the time to listen or answer any questions, even though there were two of them who were going on about their day to each other, we decided this wasn’t the place for us. She charged us $15 for the tiny tasting we each had a glass of and that made me not want to come back again because it showed they only cared about the money and not the experience. Went to a different winery down the street, that had the time to educate us about their wines and made us feel appreciated.

Google
**1 Star - Disappointing Customer Service** We visited Barons Creek Winery on Saturday during the wine and cheese walk event. After enjoying our samples as part of the walk, we decided to sit on their patio area to look at the menu and possibly order something. The patio was completely empty with no other customers. A middle-aged female employee with short hair and glasses came out and asked, "Are you guys looking to order?" I explained that we were participating in the wine and cheese walk, and my wife was looking at the menu on the table. The employee repeated "wine walk" in a dismissive tone and looked at us like we were somehow beneath her. She then informed us that the patio was only for paying customers. Her condescending attitude was completely unnecessary, especially given that the patio was empty and we were actually considering ordering. My wife told her we wouldn't be paying customers now, and we left. It's unfortunate that one employee's poor attitude cost this winery potential customers. We were ready to spend money there, but the rude treatment made us feel unwelcome. There are plenty of other wineries in the area that actually appreciate their customers. Evey other winery allowed us to sit. We actually signed up for a membership with one of them. We won't be returning to Barons Creek

Stopped in for a midafternoon snack and glass. We decided to get flights. The server was very knowledgeable, friendly and attentive but the pours were very small. I honestly think they pour them in the big glasses to give you the illusion you’re getting more. I also found it strange we didn’t get new glasses or something to rinse and dump, especially going from red to white. The bread and humus were both fresh and tasty. I loved the patio seating but not 100% I’d stop back.

Google
Based on the plethora of stellar reviews online, I am sure Barons Creek is a spectacular place. However, tonight their staff was not. This review is specifically for the waiter with crinkly hair wearing cowboys boots working the shift Sunday night on August 31st right before closing. You need better training. It is extremely tacky and unprofessional to gossip about other customers openly within hearing range of your guests. If you don’t feel like seating someone because it’s late or the kitchen has closed, you should communicate that to the guests. Not lament to other customers about how annoyed you are that people are coming in 20 minutes before closing. That creates an extremely uncomfortable atmosphere for everyone.

Google
Sara, the “Sheriff”, aka Manager has been absolutely rude to me every single time I enter the doors. It’s unfortunate one of the nice employees talked me into becoming a member because now everytime I come in to collect my 3 bottles, I have to encounter the “Sheriff” aka Sara aka the manager. When I told her she was really rude in her demeanor, she responded, “you’re the only one who thinks that”. Seriously?!?!? That’s how you respond? Has she never worked in customer service? She only makes people furious. It’s as if the customers are there to serve her, not the other way around.

Yelp
Amazing place. Beautiful and welcoming. So comfortable and lots of different options for seating. Service was great! Very friendly and outgoing and patient and helpful. Restrooms were very clean and stocked Wine was good, became a member! Did winetasting and love the perks they have for members and the events they hold. Had some snacks as well, the charcuterie board, and the bread. Both delicious and excited to try more Definitely would recommend!

Yelp
Stopped by a few weeks ago on a Friday night - it was chilly and Barons Creek was much quieter than Landon. As members of Landon I might just be really partial to their wines and the fact they specialize in local Texas wines - but Barons Creek was nice! We had great service, enjoyed the super comfy seating, and loved the fresh baked cookies they have on their menu I will say they're definitely a littler pricer than Landon and their wines are not specifically Texan.

Yelp
This is the best wine in Historic Downtown McKinney. Love Ryan - he is always on point with his service. The wine club at Barons Creek is a great deal...ask Ryan about it. The ambience is great with nice padded chairs and overhead heaters. Or if you rather sit inside that is quite nice as well. It is close to the McKinney square but about a block off.

Jeff H.

Yelp
Went there on Friday afternoon for a date night & the management staff was rude and unwilling to help the new waitress staff. She is the one who smacks her gum while chatting with patrons & staff. I'm sorry to say, stay away from this location until they get a new manager. Try Landons accross the street as they are very helpful & love their customers.

Yelp
Excellent service, they always check up on you every so often. Ambiance is great if you want to just chill or talk or have a get together with friends. Their menu is small which means they focus on the quality of their wines rather than the number. They also have other locations with the option to be in their wine club.

Kim E.

Yelp
We love the team, Sarah and Jenn are awesome. Great place for wine and friends! Join the wine club, great value! Don't miss this hidden gem in the historic McKinney downtown. Also, bingo is great on Wednesday's!

Yelp
We do love the wine at Baron's Creek in McKinney but we have never had good service. Either they are rude or they forget about you as a customer. We are 6 bottle wine club member and it's just a challenge to get good service. Please assist with this issue or we may cancel Our membership Since no one ever got back from Baron's Creek after the owner said someone would we did cancel Our membership. Very very poor customer service.

Yelp
Stopped in for a rest during the Arts in Bloom festival. They made an extra effort to fit us in and we were treated with great care front the server who was on his feet all day. Had a tasting of a couple of wines before choosing our glass. I had the LaBaron and my wife had the Crazy Train. Both very tasty. Also had the Humus appetizer and it was a nice serving and well presented with hummus and vegetables. The tasting room as several types of seating and has a pleasant ambiance.

Yelp
Best wine tasting room in McKinney! High quality wines. Great pizzas, charcuterie, hummus, bread boards. Table service. Tastings, wine by the glass and by the bottle. Excellent perks & discounts for members. Live music on Saturday evenings. Music Bingo on Wednesdays. Big screen TV's to watch games. Great patio.

Yelp
It hurts my heart to even review the way it was today. We are wine club members and unfortunately haven't been able to get in due to our schedule. We finally got the time today and yet again - service is non existent. $400 spent with nothing in return is disheartening to say the least. Food offerings are severely overpriced and service doesn't exist. I suppose if I were the kids with their feet up on chairs and overtaking the tasting room I could maybe be seen....we will be cancelling our membership after today and hopefully can collect what we've paid for this far.

Yelp
The atmosphere is ambient. Our server was extremely pleasant and a delight ful addition to our lovely evening. In addition the charcuterie board was spectacular!

Yelp
Great place for wine. Great service and nice atmosphere. Music on Thursday nights. Comfortable outdoor patio. Great charcuterie board to go with the wine.

Yelp
Baron creek has a great standard for customer service and great tasting wine. Their attention to detail is above many wineries which is why I fell in love with them when i first visited Fredericksburg. Mckinney is the most recent addition to their wine tasting locations (1:4 as of 3/3/22). The staff wants to get to know you and your fur babies which I love! The patio is dog friendly but don't forget to check out their inside seating area. Mainly street parking but plenty to choose from. Jennifer assisted us for the day and she was fantastic. We live in fort worth so we are smack dab between mckinney and grandbury tasting rooms. This location is right off the square and offers food. Become a member its so worth it! We will definitely be back.

Yelp
I love trying new wines but the flight that I got at this location was HALF of a normal flight pour for each of my glasses. On top of that the flight was more expensive than other places I have been. Also ordered the charcuterie board. I was not told that they were out of anything so when I got the board and asked about the specific things that I desired (which was the whole reason for me ordering the board in the first place) I was then told that they did not have those three things. They tried to claim that they added extra of other components however it seemed like a very sparse board to me, again quality and portion not associated with value. I'm pretty sure the pepperonis on our board were the same cheap ones that you can buy from Kroger in the resealable packages. The lady that was our waitress was very nice but also seemed a little lost at times, even though we were one of two tables there.

Yelp
Barons is our favorite tasting room in DFW! Their inside lounge is super luxe and comfy while their patio is the perfect place to cozy up by the fire pit and spend the afternoon chatting with friends over a bottle or two of wine. The membership is totally worth it. Can't recommend enough!

Laura N.

Yelp
Wine was great, awesome atmosphere. But I'll have to agree with a previous post that the owner is not who you want serving you- I assumed he thought I said "taste" instead of "glass" based on the pour, but the check definitely reflected a glass. Highly disappointing.

Yelp
The staff here is so friendly and knowledgeable! Plus the patio is dog-friendly. I went for my first ever wine tasting and only wish they had more variety for the tasting menu.

Yelp
Great service, and wine. Fantastic patio. Well worth another trip soon.can't wait to try it again.

Yelp
We visited Baron Creek Tasting Room in McKinney in May of 2023. The ambiance was comfortable with a wide variety of seating options arranged to encourage conversation within groups. The service staff were cheerful, helpful, and attentive. The charcuterie plate we ordered was creatively planned and presented and complemented the wines nicely. The wines we tasted were blends of (red) wines originating in Texas, California, Washington, and Spain. The skillfully made blends matched our tastes very well - though that tells another person nearly nothing. We are so glad to see this new wine option in Mckinney!

Yelp
We recently had my daughter's wedding shower at Barons Creek, it couldn't have been any better!! We originally booked event with previous managers in July 2022, our date/time got lost in the 'changing of the guards'. The new managers Andrew and Chris stepped up and did the right thing!! I appreciate their integrity and honoring our original plans. Food, wine, service, all was over the top. Thank you!!! Beth C.

Yelp
Love the new menu! Excellent food and the flatbreads are Texas size. Live music, friendly staff, with excellent wine. They also have heated outdoor seating. We go there at least once a month.

Yelp
It has taken me some time to write this review because it hurts me to do so since we opened our membership in Granbury Texas and that man was epic and sold me quickly. But I feel I have the right to express how I felt that day. This was Feb 17th I and my spouse were walking doing our pick-ups and celebrating Valentine's we are members of many wineries we usually do them all together if we can. We got to Barons and walked in now we knew it was a Saturday and it was a little busy.. it took about 20 minutes for anyone to greet us so we stepped to the side a little so we weren't near the door still nothing 3 employees passes looked at us and nothing .. I was starting to feel like I was looked at that I couldn't afford the place because as soon as a lady walked in she was wearing a hoodie and leggings and had a LV bag was greeted immediately served and questioned as we still stood there waiting .. finally she spoke up and said I believe they were here before me then they came to us but still gave us attitude like exact words" hello sorry for the wait can I ask what are yall here for ? we answered for our pick up and she somewhat changed her attitude to oh and started to ask questions then paused to help the other lady out without asking do we want wine or let me get your order .. she finally gave us our order and brushed us off as if we didn't want to have a glass I swear I was so upset when my spouse finally said excuse me can we get a glass she scuffs and served us 2 glasses. I drank my glass so fast and left we walked around and signed up for a different winery that night and told my spouse to cancel our membership I wasn't going to be looked at like I couldn't afford the place nor by my race .. cause I do believe if I was that ladies color and had my LV purse and dressed the way i do to work I would of been served quickly ....very sad

Yelp
The wine is amazing and so is the service. Ashley and Stephanie are wonderful. The ambiance is beautiful. They've done a very nice job with the furniture and decor. They have live music some nights. We're members here and enjoy our frequent visits.

Madelyn D.

Yelp
"Just one glass" of the Velvet red wine turned into 2 glasses for me because it was so so good. My partner is more of a white wine lover, but ended up crossing the dark side to enjoy the same wine as me.

Yelp
Great atmosphere, staff, and menu. The food is good for both dinner or snacking depending on the group size. Their staff is fantastic, will definitely be making this a regular spot.
google avatar

Andrew R.

Yelp
Kind staff and good wines. The club parties are a good time and the chef always provides great pairings.

Felicia K.

Yelp
Very matter a fact staff. Not engaging Wine tasting was expensive though the Zinfandel was good. Ok place to hang out

Chris C.

Yelp
Baron's Creek has an upscale atmosphere with a relaxed vibe. Wine is amazing and food pairs perfectly. Staff is friendly, personable, and knowledgeable of their wines. Carolyn, Andrew, Jack, and Stephanie are amazing! One of my favorites. Give them a try!

Yelp
Warning post about Barons Creek Vineyards! Don't recommend you join their wine club. My husband and I joined their wine club about a month ago. We are members of several wine clubs and this is, by far, the worst we have ever been treated by any establishment anywhere. We had a negative experience that caused me to write a negative review about their wine club. You are welcome to read it on Google. They responded to my review with a series of events that never happened (apparently their attempt to save face on a neg review) and then proceeded to tell us that we needed to enjoy other local wineries. Fine, no problem, we will cancel (I didn't want to spend another dime in there anyways) but needed to pick up the wine we had already been charged for. Went in today to grab it, completely cordial, and they told us we could not pick up, not be refunded AND they were going to call the cops for coming into to the tasting room. All for the writing a negative review folks. Stay away from this place. They are BAD NEWS. If you say anything negative about them, you will get the cops called on you and your $$ stolen from you. We had no interaction with them other than this review. Unbelievable.

Yelp
If you haven't been to Barons Creek in McKinney you are truly missing out. From the amazing wines to the amazing people who work here is just an experience. If you are looking for food pairing & tastings ask for their Sommelier Anthony he is great.

Yelp
Such a great find in downtown McKinney! Barons has tasty nibbles with great wine from California, Spain and Texas! They have a spacious patio with nice fans to keep you cool on a warm afternoon!

Debby B.

Yelp
What a wonderful addition to downtown McKinney! Great outdoor seating area. Service was excellent and the wine is delicious!! We'll definitely be back.

Stephen H.

Yelp
Owner / Gen Manger was so rude. Actually would not hold door open for my daughter holding her 8 week old child. Also pours are very light and ambience is very stuffy. Very poor service if you are trying to support your local winery.

Alexi D.

Yelp
Wow. When we walked into the bar area, we could almost immediately feel that the vibe of the atmosphere was off. We were not greeted by anyone as we sat down at the bar, and the bar tender was not welcoming in the upmost. We went there as business owners on the square and because I did not drink, I was immediately dismissed. I was not offered anything else to drink other than water in a small plastic cup, which seemed inappropriate as we were ordering a charcuterie board. The bar tender was rude and dismissive and we could not even imagine referring anyone to them with the service we received. The other business owner had issues and will be posting another review. Horrible service.

Kim W.

Yelp
We just had another wonder afternoon at Baron's Creek Tasting Room! I always feel like Norm when I come here. Everybody knows my name and treats me like an old friend. Great wine and wonderful people always translates to good times.
