Not a way to treat a lady! Booked here for 6 nights in April 2023 paying the sum of 28 874,52 Hungarian Forint. Only stayed for 2 nights. I had 20 000 forints stolen from my bag while I was asleep. The staff completely neglected the incident and treated me with the utmost of disrespect. A decent human being is expected to demonstrate kindness and respect towards another, not the other way around. They attacked me verbally when I asked for the recording of the camera which was obviously put right outside the room in the hallway. Was shocked to hear them talk about spirituality, when I had to pick up a fight with them to get the camera recording of that night out to check for the person who stole from me. I believed they knew him. Needless to say, I left and was not even refunded. Absolute disgrace. Never coming back.

I liked this hostel, it is quite simple but with comfortable beds and clean linen, heating worked fine, so the room was warm, I got nice towel at the check in(free). It has an amazing location and friendly and nice staff, there are a lot of space to sit outside the room and place to leave your luggage after check out.

The BaroquE hostel is a spectacular place to stay, very friendly and with good facilities. The receptionists Annita and Hansy are amazing, they were always available to help! 100% recommended! Salsa <3

Love this cozy little hostel. 24 hour reception. And they have a luggage room. And it’s a very awesome hostel. Totally loved my stay! Super clean. Spacious bathrooms. Kitchen facilities.

Thanks to the kindness and humor of the staff, my time in Budapest was very enjoyable and comfortable. I'm grateful for the proactive and friendly service they provided throughout my stay. I wholeheartedly recommend this hostel.

Great location for artsy geeks! The fine arts museum is right next door (literally), so is the ethnology museum, great for opacarophiles, and if not, varosliget is just by the corner, great for a stroll or even a workout and close to szechenyi baths. The rooms are tidy and comfy, a bit humid tho, loved the Narnia touch and whimsical mirror in the hostel, but THE most important part was the staff, super friendly, always willing to help with a smile! That's very much appreciated.

Cons: Not so great initially - strong smell on the room, noise on the street but sorted out quickly. Thanks to prompt action by the management. In most of my stay, floor on the shared bathroom is always wet and no proper ventilation. Lockers are outside the bedrooms so it’s worth having a spare bag for some essential items that you need to keep next to you. Duvet slightly short for tall person. My roommate’s bed was creaking loudly even with simple movement. Pros: Near bus stop and metro station. Near to the popular thermal bath - Széchenyi, and tourist spots Heroes’ Square. Accommodating reception.Things to improve: Proper ventilation and floor rug in the bathroom. Long duvet, cleaner bedsheets and duvet cover and pillow. Overall: If you stay most of the time outside and it’s okay. Main gate always open, occupants got a key for main door but most of time it’s also open. I guess for the price, you get what you paid for.

be careful when booking the rooms in this hostel!!! there is a part of the hostel that is in like kind of a bunker, full of humidity, dark and sketchy. We booked the 3 person room there and when we opened the door there was a weird-vibed man in his underwear with food all over the room as if it was his private room (so i dont really know what kind of people they accept in this hostel). Anyway, the main building is fine and worth for the price. Luckily, the receptionist helped us changing rooms, but tbh i was ready to sleep on the street bc that 3 bed room and second building are simply smelly and obscure......
