Love this cozy little hostel. 24 hour reception. And they have a luggage room. And it’s a very awesome hostel. Totally loved my stay! Super clean. Spacious bathrooms. Kitchen facilities.

Thanks to the kindness and humor of the staff, my time in Budapest was very enjoyable and comfortable. I'm grateful for the proactive and friendly service they provided throughout my stay. I wholeheartedly recommend this hostel.

Cons: Not so great initially - strong smell on the room, noise on the street but sorted out quickly. Thanks to prompt action by the management. In most of my stay, floor on the shared bathroom is always wet and no proper ventilation. Lockers are outside the bedrooms so it’s worth having a spare bag for some essential items that you need to keep next to you. Duvet slightly short for tall person. My roommate’s bed was creaking loudly even with simple movement. Pros: Near bus stop and metro station. Near to the popular thermal bath - Széchenyi, and tourist spots Heroes’ Square. Accommodating reception.Things to improve: Proper ventilation and floor rug in the bathroom. Long duvet, cleaner bedsheets and duvet cover and pillow. Overall: If you stay most of the time outside and it’s okay. Main gate always open, occupants got a key for main door but most of time it’s also open. I guess for the price, you get what you paid for.

Great location for artsy geeks! The fine arts museum is right next door (literally), so is the ethnology museum, great for opacarophiles, and if not, varosliget is just by the corner, great for a stroll or even a workout and close to szechenyi baths. The rooms are tidy and comfy, a bit humid tho, loved the Narnia touch and whimsical mirror in the hostel, but THE most important part was the staff, super friendly, always willing to help with a smile! That's very much appreciated.

be careful when booking the rooms in this hostel!!! there is a part of the hostel that is in like kind of a bunker, full of humidity, dark and sketchy. We booked the 3 person room there and when we opened the door there was a weird-vibed man in his underwear with food all over the room as if it was his private room (so i dont really know what kind of people they accept in this hostel). Anyway, the main building is fine and worth for the price. Luckily, the receptionist helped us changing rooms, but tbh i was ready to sleep on the street bc that 3 bed room and second building are simply smelly and obscure......

Horrible place to stay. If you like clean rooms and toilets, find another place. The room we booked looked completely different from the photos and was located in a cold cellar. When we asked for an extra blanket, we were instead told to turn up the room heating. Our bed was covered with a thin layer of dust when we arrived. It felt like it wasn't cleaned. The room was an acceptable size but the air felt stuffy and smelled musky no matter how long we had our window open. The toilet and shower, of which there were two, had no working ventilation. After each shower the room would completely fill with steam, making you feel like a hot box. And the bathroom floor would always be wet, making it impossible to use the toilet after a shower. This together with the dirtiness made every trip to the toilet uncomfortable. The kitchen area was (also) dirty and the shared fridge had mold. The staff was unwelcoming and often missing from the check-in/check-out desk. 1 / 5 ⭐ Would not recommend.

We went to the Baroque Hostel with a big student group from Poland and we really loved it here! The whole building had a nice arrangment, looking like Narnia sometimes! The breakfast was tasty and well organised. :) I would like to thank the staff for the flexibility: we could leave our luggage before check-in and after check-out, which was really helpful! We could stay a little longer after check-out to wait comfortably for the transport- I appreciate it a lot! Big thanks and highly recommended :)
