Baros

We loved Baros, the reef and location was why we chose it (and the great reviews) and it met expectations in all regards. Shinta, our personal butler and all the staff were fantastic. The food was also excellent. Beautiful snorkeling straight off your room, no need to travel in a boat in you prefer not to. We were upgraded from a beach villa to a beach pool villa, this would be worth paying extra for, not for the pool but for the indoor bathroom (not so humid) and still with the must-have outdoor shower. The beach access and private sitting area is so amazing, there is no need for the pool. The ocean is so warm and inviting and there are many fish, sharks and if you are lucky turtles etc right there. I have no idea why people would prefer (and pay more for) an overwater villa, I thought the private beach villa was awesome and surrounded by lush garden, unlike the exposed overwater villas. We had birds, lizards and many shellfish getting around the place which was lovely. Our only complaint is that the drinks are extremely expensive, you cannot get a bottle of wine (just a basic but nice white wine for example) for under $130AUD, two glasses $50AUD. Disappointing that they don't at least include a glass of wine with dinner, especially as we don't eat huge amounts and for the overall price paid, it would seem reasonable. Looking around generally most people not drinking, unusual in a resort. All activities and the spa also extremely expensive, especially relative to resorts Australians are used to travelling to in South East Asia. Overall though we loved it but would probably stop somewhere else on the way to Europe where we can enjoy cocktails and drinks and maybe a massage without taking out a second mortgage. However, if we did revisit Maldives, we would love to go back to Baros.

The moment you set your foot there, you feel that you landed in a small pocket of paradise. We got a room in the trees with a pool. The beach is so hot and friendly that we didn't spend time in the pool. The reef is colourful, sharks and manta rays, all kinds of fish, shallow turquoise waters. Staff was so friendly, the girl who prepares your fruits , our butler, the boat pilot, the staff in diving center. Cleaning staff is always on the go, views are breathtaking, this island is a must destination for 52 years now; not a coincidence. We want to thank the entire staff for making our stay memorable.

Best vacation we ever had! We had issues with our flight there and so it was a rough start to our vacation but once we got to the island they were absolutely amazing and accommodating. We had an over water villa and I would highly recommend that. It was the best part of our trip. We saw all kinds of fish, sharks and eagle rays from our back deck. Every one of the staff was extremely kind and wonderful. The people are what made the island so much more than just another pretty beach. Besides the people, the house reef really made this island stand out. We snorkeled every single day and never felt the need to travel outside of the island to find a better place to snorkel. We saw everything we wanted to right off of the beach. I cannot recommend Baros enough! You will not be disappointed if you book a trip there and I can't wait for our next visit to the island.

Our stay at Baros was amazing, peaceful, beautiful, and very relaxing. What made it truly special was the service and our butler, Anas. He took such great care of us with his warm and thoughtful service. We left with wonderful memories and big thanks to Anas and the whole Baros team!

Baros, i wanted to visit Baros and finally i got the chance to spend my birthday in paradise. It just 25 min by speedboat. The resort is celebrating thier 52 years of service with all the green lushes trees and a wonderful service. The service from restaurant to SPA was amazing. The Elemis product which they us at SPA is one of my favorite. Thank you to Arta & Din spa therapist. The main bar where you can enjoy the drinks, and be under the palm tree garden enjoy the light lunch. Spend your day under the lashes of green palm tree enjoying the veiw of blue sky and calm blue sea & perfect service by Rishi & Sujan💙. Baros Boutique where you can get all the gift & Sovinear to your loved ones. I really like the collections, carry away some memories to keep with you and share to your friends & family. Lastly i would like to thanks to our Butler Sujata, who made our stay memorable with her professional service & friendly nature ❤️ 😍 Also would like to thank Front Office manger Naseem for his service. We had a brilliant time at Baros. From the moment we arrived, we were in pure serenity, luxury, and the kind of personalised service you dream of. The island itself is breathtaking with clear turquoise waters, incredible beaches, and lush tropical greenery that feels like something out of a movie.||Our butler, Shinta, really took our experience to another level. She went above and beyond to make sure our stay was seamless and unforgettable. Shinta’s warm attentiveness, and genuine kindness made us feel very well looked after.||Baros is a luxury resort in every way with exceptional dining, stunning villas and signature Maldivian hospitality, but having Shinta as our butler took the entire experience to another level. We took only 24 hours to confirm the trip . Once we touch down in male everything was arrange in perfect . Baros has the nicest butler I have met in all my stay anywhere . Shinta is there for us every time we needed her . Resort is good for snorkeling and everything is tip top . Highly recommended and thumps up to my butler Shinta . Will be back again for sure ..
