Baros

After visiting other resorts in the past, we are aware that the reef is slowly dying in the Maldives and the fish is harder to find. We chose Baros hoping to enjoy the natural Maldivian marine life, after seeing a lot of reviews about it. Our expectations were much exceeded. There we could see the most living corals, populated by a lot of small, colorful fish. We also saw bigger fish, sharks, turtles and even squids. The resort is amazing, the villas are beautiful, equipped with everything we needed, and the cleaning service was just perfect. Our butler, Saeed, was very helpful and came for checking that everything was alright every morning and evening. Thank you very much! We had a great holiday at Baros and hope we come again.

The most beautiful resort I’ve been to and I’ve traveled most of the world. The staff thought of everything and it couldn’t have been better. The food, accommodations, staff were phenomenal and our butler, Reema, anticipated our every need. What a great life experience!

From the moment we arrived and stepped onto a beautiful boat headed to Baros, we felt completely taken care of and, as a result, totally relaxed. Baros is a beautiful location which has been developed sympathetically and discreetly whilst still offering a luxurious stay. We chose to stay in a water villa which was spacious and beautifully decorated incorporating a large bathroom (views of the Indian Ocean whilst showering and bathing) bedroom and seating area, including a discreet drinks and snacks area, plus a spacious outdoor deck with maximum privacy. Our room was serviced 3 times a day and always left spotless and attractively presented. Little extras such as the daily complimentary fresh fruit and snacks were much appreciated.|As for the food and drinks offering, it was absolutely exquisite and outstanding for every single meal. From the freshest fish and fragrant curries to the exquisite French patisseries and top-quality sushi, every meal was a showstopper. We enjoyed various themed nights eg. Maldivian night, the Festive night and the Seafood market. I would recommend attending one if possible.|Finally one of the most important elements of our stay was the staff. They are warm, friendly, incredibly welcoming and attentive. Our butler, Rau, arranged anything we wanted. She made some excellent suggestions as to appropriate activities and made all our restaurant bookings. She was always available if we needed her. We learnt a lot about the Maldives from her which we found very interesting. Equally she was discrete and professional in her manner, as are all of the staff.|Other notable staff were Meisi, Justus and Hardy. Always attentive, friendly yet gracious and discrete.|Baros exudes quiet, understated luxury. Every detail is taken care of leaving you to enjoy a unique experience and holiday.|I can’t recommend it enough.

We have just left Baros after an amazing five night stay and already know that we will be returning as soon as we can. From the moment we were met at the airport we knew we were in for a special stay. We met John the resort manager on the boat who was lovely, as have every other member of the team we have encountered been. We were greeted with gorgeous scented hand towels and cold water. There was WiFi on the boat so we could let our family know we had arrived safely after a long flight and a smooth quick crossing. It was just the start of our seamless experience. We had a deluxe beach villa with its own private garden and direct access to the beach and sea. It was beautiful and although it was the lowest grade accommodation you could book I don’t think you need more. We snorkelled the extensive house reef everyday, participated in many of the complimentary activities which we really enjoyed. Sound healing was incredible and the nature and marine talks really interesting. The food was the best we have had in the Maldives ever and the service was impeccable. The resort is very relaxing, a calm natural oasis of understated luxury with first class service and food. A special mention for Sujata who was our assigned butler who looked after us so well. Checking in on us everyday. Providing us with everything we needed for a special stay but not intrusive at all. She would make sure she popped wherever we were to check we were ok if we had not responded to a message or we had not crossed paths. Also to Nize who took us out on the house reef tour and showed us the best spots to snorkel. He also mended my mask and emailed us some lovely photos of our trip. Thank you ! Finally the lovely Dayu who made us wonderful cocktails in the Lighthouse Lounge We had a great time chatting to her about the resort and life in general. She is the sweetest person. Amazing views at sunset from here so don’t miss it. So much more we could have done but time goes so quickly here. Can’t wait to return as we already miss the amazing people, little hens outside our villa and all the incredible nature we shared the island with. Thanks so much to you all.

We had a lovely stay at Baros Resort! The staff were very polite and friendly, making our experience truly special. A highlight of our visit was the yoga class with Coach Ankit, who is one of the best instructors we’ve ever had. His classes were engaging and tailored to all levels. The serene surroundings and excellent service made for an unforgettable getaway.

We absolutely loved our vacation at the “Baros” hotel in the Maldives during the first week after the New Year. From the moment we were greeted at the airport by hotel staff for our transfer, we were surrounded by care and attention. Our butler, Rauyana(Rau), was consistently available and incredibly helpful with all of our questions. During our stay, which coincided with the holiday week, we were fortunate to participate in a "Master Chef" competition with Chef Hasbi (who is a genius at improvising, creating new dishes, and cooking in general), and a complimentary sunset fishing trip provided by the hotel. We won an hour massage at the spa and a lunch made from our catch, which was a lovely surprise. We stayed in a "Deluxe Villa" on the beach. Housekeeping was performed twice daily, both morning and evening, and everything was always clean and flawless. The reef was fantastic; we saw a wide variety of marine life very close to the shore, and the ocean water was crystal clear. The hotel's water sports team was also very helpful, providing us with details about all the available activities and an interesting tour of the house reef. Additionally, the hotel's marine biologists conducted a short masterclass on coral planting. Huge thanks to everyone, especially Rauyana (Rau) for her responsiveness and attentiveness.

A very easily accessible island. boat ride is about 25 min. The island is very well organised, clean. Our butler, Sujata is a little ray of sunshine, she’s helped us make the most of our stay she’s 20/10. Food is wonderful, there’s entertainment.

Paradise Island and a wonderful resort with an exceptional staff, amazing food and drinks and one of the most incredible snorkelling options pretty much in front of your villa. Especially our butler Reema made our stay so effortless and relaxing that we can't wait to come back. Keep in mind that the weather is very unpredictable and during our stay (first week of January) it wasn't just blue sky, there were also hours of rain and clouds. But that was the case for alle the islands of the Maldives.
