Barra Beach Club

I've stayed at my fair share of hostels. This one is up there. The staff is great--- they help plan any activity from surfing, to hiking, to massages on site, to party planning. Nicole, their staff DJ and party planner coordinates all the events. They have a nice bus that will take you out to the parties and bring you back with the rest of the people from the hostel.||||Great common area, and the food is amazing. They have 2 chef's on staff and everything was sooo delicious. A much needed food break after traveling for so long, sometimes you just need comfort food from home. ||||The rooms are very clean, no AC, but the fans work. The bathrooms are fine, they clean them multiple times a day.. but the water does go out sometimes, which is a problem. We had 2 bathrooms in our shared dorm, one gave really hot scolding water, and the other cold... but whatever, it's a hostel, it's not going to be perfect.||||The people are amazing, met a lot of great people.||||They have these really nice hammocks for relaxing, loved that.||||It's 1 minute walk to the beach, also awesome.||||Very close to all the shops and restaurants of barra.||||It's a good location overall, equidistant from the north and south side of the islands, so a good midpoint for exploring the island.

This hostel has a great location, close to the beach. Good for surfers also beginners. The hostel has a great and tasty breakfast, but you can also have lunch there. They have a bar with a great view at the sea. Drinks are good, prices are fair. Beds could be better, rooms where small, and no air condition. But still a great place, and absolutely recommendable.

The hostel experience is not only about the hosel and staff but also the gusts. Luckily here everything g was on point. Great roommates guests staff and hostel. Very clean and great location jimmy, the owner, gave some amazing recommendations. I was there for Christmas and had a great experience with other travelers. I even mat back up with my roommate for carnival in Rio. I can’t wait to stay at this hostel again. Only down side is you never need to leave the island because the hostel has everything. Also, don't drink too many cappies and loose track of how much you owe.

This hostel is excellent! Breakfast is perfect, lots of different type of jams, bread, fruits, cheese and jamon. Very nice to wake up to (or stay up). The staff is very friendly and helpful, they really trying to do their best to help when needed. Location is very quite with wonderful view to Prainha and around. every point at the hostel is a view point. 1 min walk from the the beach and they have free surfing gear!!!!!! in the evening everybody gather at their cool bar. drinking and going out so there's no problem meeting other people. Probably one of the better hostels we’ve stayed in so far! Me and my girlfriend stayed in a 6 bed dorm that was up between the trees with sea view over the little beach in front of the hostel that’s 2 min walk.||Staff is super friendly and helpful, the kitchen is very good (a bid pricy but it includes a caipi or wine with every meal) for lunch and dinner and the breakfast is amazing. Super nice to wake up and enjoy a good breakfast overlooking the ocean in the sun! Also they have a free bbq spot and a very clean and new kitchen if you’d like to cook yourself.||Our dorm beds were made up by the housekeeper 3 times in a 4 night stay. They give out free surf and body boards to go surfing. ||Would highly recommend this spot if you go to Florianopolis!!

One of the best hostels I've stayed at in South America. It can be relaxing with it's great views, close beaches, and large complex or very social with lots of friendly travelers, plenty of parties and events, and the on-site bar. Our room didn't have AC (it did have a fan) so it did get a little warm and wifi is only in the common areas.

I stayed in October so it was a bit slow, but all the staff was nice and attentive. The guests were interesting and made for good conversation. ||The beach itself is not wonderful (other spots have nicer sand) but is overall good. There’s some nice nature nearby as well and plenty to explore. ||

That view from the hostel bar never gets old! Great staff! They mostly as speak English, the rooms were super clean! Bar has reasonable prices and lastly... Their burgers are amaaaazzziinngg!! Definitely recommend this place!
