Been here q couple of times so it wasn't a one off thing. Nice neighborhood bar with good vibes and good crowd. Service is also attentive. But the one thing they exist for which is the drinks they do a horrible job at it. It's probably deliberate so patrons order many drinks. First time we ordered long Island and it was ok, second time we ordered tequila based cocktails with grapefruit and hibiscus. The hibiscus one camein a thin glass with a big ice piece and not much drink if you remove the ice. The drinks itself tastes like fruit cocktail with no hint of alcohol. Then we decided to do shots and we're quotes $47 a shot for a top shelf tequila. The waiter herself said don't waste money. We ordered regular one and the first shot taste ok but second was really flat. And all of these drinks/shots are $16/17. Probably not visiting again even if someone is picking the tab.

We went to gave some drinks as it is open till late in Burlingame downtown. The bar has good outdoor seatings. It is bit congested and noisy around. Drinks were good but service was bit slow and messed up with order confusion. Overall decent place to hangout with friends.

This is a really cool place, with some amazing cocktails. The espresso martini is getting some popular views on social media these days. It is a beautiful drink. I found it a little sugar though. It has a very fun vibe in the atmosphere, here is great.

Has everything. Drinks, vibe and empanadas! Been here many times. In door and outdoor options. Not too loud. Cocktails are fun. They have a holiday menu too right now. The menu makes it easy to choose with drawings of each. Only draw back is the ice inside is huge soo not as much drink as you think. The vibe is my fave. Open and chic. Enough seating. The Empanadas are good. One per order. Chicken, beef, mushroom option. Staff is chill and always attentive.

I loved this place! Great atmosphere and got all the feels on a weekday night! Fun menu, service was a little slow but we weren't in a hurry. Burlingame has some fun spots, definitely check this bar out, it's a little out of the way (not on the main strip) but a great starting or ending point for some good drinks!

New fav bar. I'm so obsessed with their drinks and empanadas. The minted matcha, London essence and whiskey smash were 10/10 and I'm so picky with my cocktails. Definitely coming back to try the others!! The beef empanada had such good flavor and if you love mushrooms and pepper Jack cheese you'll love the mushroom empanadas too. Chimichurri was good with the empanadas but I wish it came with it instead of costing an extra $1.50. I also enjoyed their outdoor seating area. Overall loved this place so much!!

Came here for their holiday drinks and it had great vibes! Low key decorations, but their Christmas drink selection was on point. Good mix of flavors without overpowering alcohol flavors. Will definitely be coming back to try their regular drink menu. We liked the outside area, which had heat warmers and felt very casual. Only thing is there were only 2 bartenders so service was a bit slower and no table service so you have to wait at the bar to be served.

I don't know why this place has mediocre reviews! The drinks are unique, fantastic, and a perfect blend of alcohol and flavor. I had the Mexican Bonfire and the Maverick, and was thoroughly impressed with both of them. My friend ordered Old Fashions that looked quite impressive as well! The price wasn't bad for the drinks (~$17 per for a nice cocktail). The service was fantastic from the bartender, who was easygoing and gave great recommendations on drinks. The ambiance was really pleasant with a nice outdoor patio style seating with nice decor and plants all around. The atmosphere was perfect for a casual conversation with a friend of mine and nothing drowning out our conversation. I will definitely be back again sooner over later and recommend this place to anyone and everyone!

Booked side patio for 15 on a Saturday to celebrate wife's 30th. Loved that they allow outside food. Entire staff was friendly, enthusiastic, chill, helpful. No notes. Patio cocktails all hit just right. Can't wait to come again & try out their other businesses.

Sis and I met up for drinks and to chill for an hour or so, she found this spot in Burlingame and luckily when we arrived there was free street parking across the street. It's a metered parking lot but free after 6pm. There was an event happening (wine walk) so the streets were crowded with people doing a wine crawl. We think we will participate next year. A little turned off when we arrived as no one on staff greeted us and we seated ourselves. Ordered the El Fuego spicy" and the Maverick. Both drinks were perfectly made and full of fragrance and bursting with flavor. The beef and chicken empanadas were good, sis commented that the chicken was on the dry side but the beef was good possibly because the oil gave it the moisture that was previously missing.

Last night, after supper at Rise Pizzeria and a couple of post-dinner glasses of wine at Velvet 48, my friends and I walked to the edge of downtown Burlingame and discovered BARRELHOUSE. This cool bar was an awesome place to end a great night out with some fancy cocktails. Located on California Avenue, in a short walking distance from the corner of Burlingame Avenue, patrons can park their vehicles along the streets as well as in nearby public lots. As you enter and walk further into BARRELHOUSE's venue, the darker the room becomes, but the lights from the bar counter and the hanging globes and bulbous chandeliers provide just enough illumination to feature the contemporary touches in this rustic, but trendy drinking hole. The outdoor patio in the back promotes a more social atmosphere for enjoying libations with neighbouring tables and even with others drinking al fresco at adjacent establishments. At BARRELHOUSE, if you can name a drink, you can probably get it here. In addition to the usual beers, hard liquours, and classic cocktails such as an Old Fashion, you will also find EMPANADAS as well as unique and tantalizing elixirs. I highly recommend the Minted Matcha ($16), a refreshing gin-based drink that infuses the full-bodied flavour of high grade Japanese green tea and fresh mint. The Horse Trainer's Daughter ($18) is also delightfully lavish, like a vintage French potion from the 1920's, mixing bergamot and lavender, topped with foamy egg white. Service here is quick and friendly. I especially like that they give you cold glass bottles of water to pour to keep your party well hydrated while boozing up. Burlingame is home to many gems of eateries and taverns. BARRELHOUSE is definitely one of their shining diamonds. What a spot! I must return!

This is the best place for a business or friendly meeting; the cocktails are good and the service is friendly. The booths are very cozy, and it's usually quite noisy, so no one will overhear you. It's a good place if you know what to expect.

Came here on a Tuesday for date night with my husband. They have great happy hour from 5-7pm on weekdays with $3 off specialty cocktails. We got two cocktails each and they were reasonably priced at $13-16 with the discount. My favorite was the pear martini, which had a nice hint of anise. Food options are limited to one of three types of empanadas.

Barrel House makes excellent drinks, and the bartenders always deliver great customer service. They're friendly, professional, and make you feel welcome every time. It's always a good time here, and their Mai Tai is definitely one of my favorites. Highly recommend!

Quaint little bar in the Burlingame downtown with TVs of the game. We came in for an after dinner drinks and it wasn't too crowded though I wish it was a little bit quieter. I got the passion punch and it was great.

Booked this place for a corporate event. Hosted a consultant happy hour on Thursday from 5-7pm and had a great turnout of around 40-60 people! We booked the back patio order, got some great food orders in advance and booked some wines and beverages as well. The cocktails were decently priced and the wait staff was amazing. Hannah was assigned to help our group and provided excellent and prompt service. The location in the back patio was perfect and we absolutely look to host another event with them!

Came here on a Friday night with a few friends. There were plenty of tables for small groups, and one big table for a 8+ group. Bar seating is an option. The music wasn't too loud and the ambiance was unique. The drinks were decent and priced fairly well to the surrounding area Parking is challenging in this area but not impossible. Accessible by train too. Clean interior. I'd come again!

My favorite drink was the minted matcha. I like the strong matcha tea flavor, it really stands out at the end of every sip. I was worried the alcohol would taste too strong but it was a nice sweet drink and the gin was well balanced. I also enjoyed the passion punch, it was very strong and the rum wasn't overpowering either. They have a cute outdoor patio. This is a chill bar to talk and sip a drink at. I would definitely come back!

This place felt familiar and I guess I was last here 9 years ago! I met up with a group here for happy hour and we had a space on the patio which was lovely, although devoid of any shade. Once the sun went down a bit it was perfect and spacious for us to mix and mingle. I tried two different drinks, both tropical in nature, and they were both delicious. We also had three types of empanadas, of which I enjoyed the chicken and beef style. As I was leaving, I noticed another large group indoors but didn't notice any impact to our service, drinks were quick and the team serving us was friendly. I'd certainly stop by again if I was in the area.

What a vibe, great drinks! The bartenders are QUALITY... They are very attentive and quick to push out quality drinks. The place was not really crowded due to the rain but the patrons were diverse and respectful. One thing I did notice was that despite being able to work efficiently, the bar did cycle through workers often. Would begin socializing with the group and then look to the bar, new bartenders. Talk more, look back and it was back to original with maybe some new faces or mix of them. There was one bartender guy that looked like a model or belonged on one of those Netflix dating shows. Tipped him twice as much because... why not? The drinks were unique! There was a matcha martini that was really good. The after taste had a nice matcha aroma and the mezcal drink, campfire something. Those two were the ones I asked for and both delivered in terms of taste, visual appeal, and price. Did not get to try the food since we arrived pretty late. However, would be cool to come back soon to!

Local bar, they have been around for a long time. A great spot for after dinner drinks or a great place to hang out with friends. The bartenders are really nice and they make great drinks. Check them out!!

Enjoyed cocktails with friends on a Wednesday. Pricing was reasonable and cocktails were good. They have an outdoor space that is pup friendly. Service is nice and we enjoyed good laughs. Only downside is that they don't have a lot of bar food. They have a couple choices of empanadas. Will return to relax on a sunny day.

I've been to this place a few times. It's probably my favorite cocktail spot in the area. We left the place around the corner (Flights) for this spot and did NOT regret it. Barrelhouse has a great appetizer menu that we didn't take advantage of this time, but would definitely recommend. The service is prompt and polite. You scan a QR for the menu and order from a server that comes to your table or the bartender at the bar. Ambiance is always on point. The back patio can be a little drafty so I'd bring a jacket for that peninsula breeze. The train is nearby and can be heard but I wouldn't say it's a buzz kill. Music is always a great vibe and so it the staff. My only reason for giving 4 stars is that somehow I always get the wobbly table the last few times I've sat in the front. Drinks spilt a little bit because of it but no biggie just sticky. We'll def keep coming back with for drinks with friends.

Cocktails here are hit or miss. I had the chocolate infused mezcal the first time and it was delicious. My second time was a bit disappointing. I had the fungi which sounded original, but turned out to be a standard old fashioned with mushroom as garnish. I didn't taste any fungi in the drink. The other drink I got was bourbon based with egg white. It tasted good but both drinks were weak. There was barely any alcohol in them and the quantity was little. To pay $22/drink with tax and tip is not worth it. What really tipped me over was that they rejected a Yelp check in discount that clearly states $6 off any well drinks on any day. Their pushback was that they don't advertise on Yelp. Well if that is the case, then take it off or honor it as a honest mistake. Don't punish me for not being clued in on your own offers.

I was coming back home from a Warriors game with a friend and we decided to make a pit stop here. This was late on a Tuesday and the spot was still bustling and had a great vibe. The two cocktails I had were super creative and yummy though a little too sweet. The bartenders were chill and attentive. I would have not guessed that Burlingame had such a cool bar.

Came on a Friday night at 10. It was rainy throughout the day and weather was 50F so all inside tables were taken but there were still open seats in the back patio. This was fine since they have a bunch of heaters. The side patio had better looking ambiance and decorations but was also full. The server was quick to come to us and give water. They have a really good drink menu with lots of cool cocktails. Presentation on the cocktails were really nice too. The server was pretty attentive in case we wanted more water or more drinks Definitely would come back and recommend to others!

Over the years, I've visited Barrelhouse in downtown Burlingame a few times, most recently, during my birthday get together with friends, on a warm Saturday evening. Parking can be challenging in this area during prime times, so it'll be hit or miss. We had a bench table out in the back patio. As for the inside, it's dark and moody but the whole place exudes a vibe of people just having fun. As for the drinks, I had a few Old Fashioned's and they were more than solid. They have a decent menu of Wines, Spirits, and Cocktails. Overall, a solid place to grab a drink or two and kick back when your'e in the Burlingame area.

**Disappointing Experience at Barrelhouse in Burlingame** I recently visited Barrelhouse expecting a quality experience, but was left feeling frustrated. The major letdown was their espresso martini, which they served in a miniature martini glass that was literally less than two-thirds the size of a standard martini glass. This was not only visually unappealing but also felt like a rip-off given the price. A standard martini glass typically holds around 8 oz, but theirs was significantly smaller, making it seem like they were trying to cut costs rather than provide value to their customers. The atmosphere was nice and hip, and the bartender was cordial but the drink fell well short of expectations. I was so shocked at the child-size glass that I even asked the bartender if people had complained that the martini glass was so small, and he said "sometimes". Honestly, it was insulting. Owners: You got my money but lost a customer. Sad.

Amazing food and fun environment. Great staff, all around a good time. We stopped on the way back from SF on the Caltrain, just about a block from the stop

I really enjoyed the drinks here, it was a nice treat at the end of a long day. The bartenders were friendly. They were playing sports on the tvs, and the music was really eclectic actually, like one day they were playing MF DOOM, the next they were playing peso pluma. I sat at the bar but the patio area also looked lovely. I will definitely be coming back next time I am in the area.

Barrelhouse is one of the few bars in Burlingame downtown, and it's a nice spot to hang out with friends. Barrelhouse's sister establishments include Persona (up in SF) and Vinyl Room (also in downtown Burlingame), and I personally prefer Barrelhouse out of the 3. Drinks are not bad but a bit pricey for what you get (to be expected, I guess, based on location). Their empanadas are also yummy, but again, a tad pricey. Barrelhouse as ample indoor and outdoor seating, and we've always found service to be friendly. Parking can be tough given location, but if you're willing to walk a bit, there are several lots in the surrounding blocks.

So much fun for a girls night and you can bring in your own food! My girlfriends and I went here on a Friday and shared a bottle of wine for a reasonable price. Our waitress was so kind and even asked to take our picture!

Went here for drinks prior to going to Pulpo tapas and wine bar. Must have at least one cocktail on Father's Day! This is where I had my first Penicillin, and my most recent didn't disappoint, even though the bartender regretted not having candied ginger for it, it was lovely

We spent about $1,000 on a big party here this past Thursday, and not once did the waitress come by to check on us. Despite the lack of service, I still tipped 20% because it's the right thing to do. Unfortunately, I wouldn't recommend this place for large parties

Pretty good, pretty strong drinks here. The patio area was nice and lit during the nighttime. A friend said they knew a place that had empanadas and we were sold on the idea right away. Taste was pretty good, lots of spice. I had the mushroom empanada, which I expected to be on the more creamy/cheesy side (it was actually much more of a spicy kind of mix). Still enjoyable though! Easy to read menu with QR link on the table.

True hidden gem in Burlingame. We were looking for place for drinks after dinner with family. We just stumbled upon this place and we will definitely be back! The bartenders here truly know their craft. We sat at the bar so we were able to chat with them and they really do experiment and take the time to make fun quality drinks. We usually do not spend a lot of time Burlingame but with the craziness of the city and parking struggles, I'm not sure why we don't come here more often!

Came here after dinner with my friend and it was super crowded, however we were seated quickly by the bar. The bar had the cutest Christmas decoration and was super aesthetic. Order the London (gin, cucumber and tonic water) and it was probably one of the best gin cocktails I've had. Super refreshing and light. I had to order another one lol. My friend, I believe, ordered a margarita which was also really good! Would recommend to come here if you're around the area and enjoy an aesthetic bar!

Came here many times for cocktails. Their curated menu is delicious, and they do a great job making custom cocktails. All bartenders are skilled, respectful and reliable, but we really enjoyed meeting Jason who are consistently helpful with making custom cocktails. Empanadas are great, too. Sometimes we even meet live performing musicians.

I didn't try the food, but it seems like they serve finger food or small portions. The service was fantastic, and the place had a lovely atmosphere. The bartenders were very attentive, and we really enjoyed our drinks--they were perfect for me. We also got to enjoy live music, which I absolutely loved. Barrelhouse Burlingame would have to be one of my favorite bars that I have been to and that is clean. It feels very modern and upscale but also laid back at the same time. I am already looking forward to the next visit! **Heads up: Hostess at the front automatically asks for your ID right away so that once you go in, you do not have to keep showing your ID. My boyfriend and I went to Barrelhouse on a Friday night and were expecting a lot of people as it was a common day for people to possibly be at after work or before going to a club...and we actually did not encounter a lot of people. Another expectation I had based on the look of Barrelhouse was that we should have dressed fancy. However, casual attire is okay here. I liked their choice of cocktails as I am a cocktail type of person. My boyfriend ordered some hard liquor choices and definitely found their alcohol to be strong. Therefore, depending on your preference of alcohol intensity, I believe you will be satisfied here! I also liked how Barrelhouse serves tapas and different flavors of Brazilian empanadas! I find this to be a bonus so that you are not just strictly drinking alcohol but also pairing it with small gourmet snacks/finger foods. Staff were very nice and it felt genuine. I know people say that of course restaurant staff have to be nice so they can get a good tip, but you can tell when staff members are genuinely nice. Different forms of seating everywhere inside, whether it is at the bar, a booth, or tall bar stool tables. Very dim lighting inside which I actually did not mind. Ample amount of parking in the area, however it is all meter based.

This place is my go to if near Burlingame. Both indoor and outdoor sittings are really cool and textured. Love this sexy and intimate vibe. Very pretty and delicious drinks. Every time. Classic or creative. Anything you like. You can't go wrong with this one.
