Barrett's Park

We love this beautiful park! Excellent for picnics, children, pups, swimming, or admiring the view!

Barrett Park is beautiful! It's a good sized park, perfect for a nice walk, or to sit and look out over the ocean. There is also an area where you can walk down to a small cove. I have even seen people swim there. Very clean!

8/30/21 update. Still a nice park. Irresponsible pet owners are not cleaning up after their dogs. If you own a dog, clean up after them or Stay home ! Don't expect others to do your job. Great little pet friendly park on the coast. A few picnic tables.

Fantastic beautiful park with stunning, sparkling waves and coves. There is a picnic table. This is a real gem of a park that was preserved by the town form a a land donation, with adequate parking!

Gorgeous place with plenty of picnic tables, clean bathrooms, rocks to chill on and water to take a dip in. We had a restorative morning here eating delicious bagels from Woodsong Market and just relaxing.

This is a great place to kayak or paddle board for beginners. It has bathrooms, is dog friendly, and green space for lawn games etc.

Great swimming spot in the summer, was was warm and plenty of shady trees. Bring your picnic and stay for the day.

Perfectly breezy swimming hole on a hot summer. Keep in mind, it's cool ocean water (salty) and tidal. A great spot to launch a kayak, paddboard, swim, picnic, sunbathe or just lounge around with a book. There's a cool rock in the middle you can walk to during low tide or swim to in high tide. This is also a dog park (pretty much the only one in the local area), so if dogs are not your cup of tea, skip it (we love dogs and making new friends!). There are picnic tables, gazebo for large gatherings and a bathroom with running water available. Free parking and overflow parking available. Please help us keep it clean and pick up after your pups!

I thought this spot was beautiful. Quiet. The grounds area could use some updating. But it's got water, rocks, shade trees, and a swing! Precious low key spot for some relaxing.

Beautiful park with a shallow beach perfect for young children. Gorgeous water views. A real gem.

Dogs loved it and the beach was low tide so you can separate from people ... plus it is free and well maintained

Nice little park. Not too busy and has a few nice trails by the water. Also picnic tables and and space to play catch or toss a football. Lots of trees for hammocking as well!

This is a great little park to come to if you're in the Boothbay Harbor area and you need a place to get away from all the people! It's only about a half-mile away from the "in town" area but you still feel like you're "in the woods". It's still right on the coast and you get beautiful views but you're surrounded by trees and open grassy areas. There are no sandy beachy areas, just a couple rough rocky areas down to some water. This is a great place to bring your dog and let them explore, or if you want to have a picnic with some friends and/or family away from the shops and people of downtown. It is dog friendly; they have a station set up with some waste disposal bags. Also, great people bathrooms! There is a awesome gazebo in the middle of the park that provides some shade. Set up around the outskirts of the park there is some picnic tables scattered about, can't beat the view!

Trees swings and water Barrett Park is a little park located right on the water not far from the center of Boothbay Harbor. It's mostly a park for locate people because few tourists leave the actual center of town. That means that the park is usually quiet and peaceful even in the busiest part of the summer and is a nice place to go to get away from the crowds and craziness in town. A lovely park with old trees and a few walking paths. Benches and a few picnic tables are scattered around and there is even a swing, large pavilion and small area to launch a kayak. The park is larger than it first seems because it sort of follows the coast but it really isn't for hiking. Of course the main attraction are the incredible views of Boothbay Harbor. With a surging 12 foot tidal range Barrett Park is a great place to watch constantly changing harbor transform with the tides. A very cool little park that is great all year long but especially wonderful in the winter with the cold winds blow and nature looks down in anger on the small town. A nice place to find peace and quiet anytime of the year.

We were looking for a quite peaceful place to enjoy the atmosphere of Maine. We found we were looking for a place to enjoy the serenity of beautiful Maine. We found it here!

This small park overlooking Linkin Bay provides a welcome respite from the congestion found in Boothbay Harbor. The view from almost anywhere in the park is wonderful and there are tables scattered throughout that would be perfect for a picnic lunch. I suspect very few vacationers include this park on the their itinerary.

This is a hidden gem. Its so peaceful and so gorgeous. My kids were born in Maine and are used to ocean swimming. This is really one of their favorite places to do that. There is a very cool gazebo made by some of the local craftsmen in memory of a very popular lobsterman, Charlie Begin. You can have a picnic in the gazebo or you can take a little snack to the end of the park that overlooks Linekin Bay. Its a very lovely park!

Love this park!!!!! We have taken our dogs here to run and explore the beach many many times. We like to use a long line so they are contained but still roaming on there own. I have seen many, too many dogs of leash which is not allowed in Maine for the most part. My soap box, leashes are not to keep just your dog contained. My dog may not like yours or vice versa. Keep your pets leashed!!! There are several ways to get down to the beach to play. At low tide you can walk out to rocks farther out in the harbor. Fun to see the creatures in the tide pools. You can swim here as far as I know. My minion and hubby not to mention plenty of others do so.

A great find when searching for a beach near booth bay harbor. When we first asked the parking lot guy where the closest beach was 45 minutes away. He lied. I asked a nice lady at a lobster shack and she pointed us to Barrett Park and everyone I was with was so thankful. It was great. There is no sandy beach to sit on, but lots of big rocks and grass you can lounge on. We all went swimming for awhile too. Very nice and refreshing! There were not very many people there either, which was a nice change of pace after being at beaches in Old Orchard Beach and Bar Harbor. There's bathrooms and a nice gazebo too! We were grateful to find this place!
