Barrio Cafe Hotel

Went here after an 8 hour bus ride from Costa Rica so I was hungry to say the least. The service was lovely. Very warm people and the atmosphere was just great. The ambience of the place is nice and it is comfortable to sit in. The food arrived relatively quickly and was super tasty. Good portions and at a great price. Definitely coming back!

Delicious coffee. Visit several times and definitely would return and try more on the menu. Super friendly staff. Big portions -never leave hungry. Neat menu. Fries were exceptional. Burger was great maybe a bit heavy. Eggs benedict was enjoyable. Wrap was good. Prices very reasonable. Very nice atmosphere.

We spend 3 days in SJDS and found this place wonderful. The noise discribed in other people's reviews worried me however the music is really quiet and smooth so nothing to worry about. They also have a security guard during night time that makes sure you don't get unwanted visitors. Rooms are super clean and water is hot while prices are great for the area! I really want to mention the food, the included breakfast is really awesome and you can mix and match (we always took the fruit bowl and the eggs and shared). I also think it's totally fine to charge for extras if the offered included items don't satisfy you. We also ate there for lunch and had the best nachos in our entire trip (picture attached)! Highly recommend staying and dining here!

From the moment you arrive to the moment you leave the staff is wonderful. We were always greeted with beaming smiles and nothing was too much trouble. The restaurant and bar is a great spot to eat, drink or just hang out. Located at a busy intersection it is a bit noisy but a great spot to people watch and convenient to get anywhere in town in just a few minutes. We will definitely return to this hotel.

Only ate here but don’t bother. Took over 30 minutes while the place was quiet. Was a steak taco dish that was lukewarm when it came out with cold fried cheese and none of grilled jalapeños mentioned. Overpriced compared to everywhere else too so it needs to be good if you’re charging that much more.

Nice place with a good food and drink selection. It is a little pricey, but the food is good. We had a club sandwich and a mozzarella, avocado and tomato sandwich with balsamic glaze and caramelised onions. Both came with crunchy fries and really nice ciabatta. The place was very busy, but service was quick and the staff were nice. They were advertising a watermelon and basil gin and tonic which I'm now kicking myself for not trying.

Barrio cafe is a good place. Located in avenida Mercado,this place offers a very comfortable environment to enjoy a great Iced Coffee during the afternoon or having a very fancy breakfast 🍳 The service is very good, waiters are very welcoming and the space is very clean and always neat! Tips 💯 If you love Iced coffee, this is a great option! 💯 I love breakfast here, a little bit pricy but worthy 💯 Great location and environment * I have never stayed here so this review is just related to the restaurant

My favorite breakfast spot. I’m vegetarian and this place cooks clean and delicious meals. The music isn’t loud like it is at other places. This means you can actually have a conversation with the person next to you! Most restaurants in the area have LOUD, annoying music. I could literally go here everyday. Thank you for the food and kindness!
