Overall, we had a good stay at this hotel! The location is excellent—just a short walk to the beach, food, and ferry to Cozumel. Having free parking was a huge plus considering we did a lot of exploring. The rooms were very clean and well-kept, and the staff was incredibly friendly and helpful throughout our visit. The hotel also had some lovely common areas, including an outdoor bed in the back and a quiet spot to sit and enjoy takeout, read a book, or just unwind after a long day. That said, there were a couple of things to be aware of. Because of the natural straw ceiling design, we did notice some bugs, including a few cockroaches, which was unfortunate. Also, you might want to bring earplugs—the bar next door plays loud music late into the night (no fault of the hotel). Despite those things, the overall experience was still positive, and the value, service, and location make it a solid choice for our 8 day stay. Would definitely book again.

My room was *very* smelly, when I asked the receptionist to come to my room (number 17) to check it out, he immediately said it smells good and there is no problem with room. Instead of trying to help, he even suggested I'm sick and that's why it's smelly when clearly the smell in the room was awful. He also didn't suggest any other solution, claimed they are fully booked when they were almost empty. Very bad experience. I highly recommend avoiding this place.

It has a cat. 5 stars for the cat. Other notes: easy check in, except POS machine didn’t work with our visa so we had to pay cash, but they were very easy going about it and let us pay at check out. Only negative is the bed was VERY hard, don’t know if could sleep on that all week. Outside area is beautiful.

Terrible experience. Told the hotel the next morning 10 am a friend arrives and wants to take a quick shower and had a 40 minute discussing about 15 dollar extra payment and what houserules mean. The room doesnt have a fully curtain see picture. Toilet didnt work twice in my 1 night stay. Really noisy it is fully in the party districs if you want to sleep before 3 am choose an other hotel.

Great staff, helpful and friendly. The room was ok and generally clean but there was some hair left on the sink and the shower barely worked. Is quite noisy as is in the center of the action. Has parking and is safe.

location is great. walking distance to almost everything in Playa Del Carmen tourism district. rooms are clean but the whole unit definitely needed some upgrade.

No one answers the phone, locks the front gate and hoteliers do not have a key to access the building except for one key given per room. Loud neighborhood until 2:30am or later, narrow cement stairs, not accessible, two parking spots, owner does not let you park even for a minute unless you pay for 24 hours. He pretends not to understand English when it’s convenient for him. No electrical plugs near bed. No shower curtain or floor mats leaving it slippery after a shower. No hot water (cold showers). Weak locks on the windows and no emergency exit.

The ONLY reason this place would could be considered “a good hotel” is if you were never going to be in the room and you just needed a place to put your head down at night. But even then, the office gets locked up along with the front gate when they want to go home. No one answers the phone! You won’t get a key for the front door or gate. You may get one key to your room, so plan to share it with whoever you’re with. Don’t get separated. Office manager pretends not to speak any other language, but Spanish if he does not want to answer you. Four out of five images in their marketing are of places which are not the Burial Latino hotel Airbnb. This place goes by over 15 names on various different platforms. See images

Yelp
Cute and just what we needed! We stayed 5 days 4 nights in Playa Del Carmen. Prior to booking we wanted something affordable, clean, comfy, and in close proximity to the necessities (like restaurant, beach, food, shops). The room is nothing but two twin beds, good size bathroom, dresser, fridge, safe, no tv or phone. We didn't care because we planned to be out and about every single day. By the time we got home each evening, we ate, showered and slept comfortably. In the morning we'd awake to birds chirping. No SEPTA buses, car horns, and loud cell phone conversations, just birds. There is a continental breakfast and there were danishes and croissants that were the best I'd ever eaten. The breakfast guy who worked the breakfast area made sure you didn't take too much of anything. Making phone calls home were easy, the front office has a phone that makes free international calls for guests. We were in a great spot, beach about 5 blocks, 5th Ave a few blocks, and food everywhere. I suggest the falafel spot across the street from the hotel, amazing!

Yelp
We LOVE this place! It's clean, quiet and within walking distance to the beach. It's not a party hotel if that's what you want. It's a lovely quiet respite from being out hiking, beaching or whatever all day. The rooms are simple - no tv - but have everything you need including a small dresser, safe and small fridge. Air conditioning too but we never need it. Hammock outside your door. They are cleaned beautifully each day. Every morning there is a wonderful continental breakfast down in the open air commons area. It includes: croissants and other rolls with jam and very yellow butter, cereals and oatmeal, fresh yogurt, fresh juice - last time we were here they puréed spinach into it with orange, papayas and lime. It was delicious! Also they have strong coffee and fresh cream and different teas. We LOVE this complementary breakfast each day. Sitting outside surrounded by tropical plants, the occasional little lizard scurrying up a cactus all the while various renditions of 80's and 90's music are playing softly in the background - seriously, songs you have not heard in AGES! One morning as I sat slowly sipping my coffee swirled with cream and finishing the last flaky, heavily buttered bites of my croissant, Barbara Streisand was belting out "I am a woman in love..." The staff is extremely kind and pleasant. The hotel is owned by Italians and it seems to be mostly Europeans who stay there. If you stay here you must eat at the amazing Romeo trattoria across the street. Amazing, fresh, authentic Italian food for a reasonable price. There are also numerous small, locally owned little Mexican cafés nearby which serve delicious, dirt cheap Mexican food. We've stayed here 3 times because our experience is always always such a pleasure.

Yelp
Worst place ever. Next to ultra noisy night clubs. Ceiling is made of palm so noise gets all in the room. It is impossible to rest. Hotel was unable to offer a quiet room so I had to leave to another hotel to be able to rest. Hotel did not want to refund

Yelp
A wonderful, reasonably priced hotel in the heart of the Playa Del Carman entertainment district. A short walk to the beach and the famous 5th Avenue. We like to venture away from 5th for amazing authentic Mexican food. The staff are more than helpful with information or anything else you might need to make your stay more enjoyable. If you want to be pampered, go to a resort. If you want to experince the culture and all it has to offer stay here, you won't regret it. We will definatly be back!
