BarroNegro Athens

We went to a few bars in Athens and this was our favourite - the cocktails were so good, we stayed for two! Service was warm and friendly, the bar is cosy intimate and there is some seating outside - just to note, all seating is high tables/chairs. Highly recommend the Verano Azul!

Out of all the top bars in Athens this one is my fav. Great vibe and energy. Their menu is also fantastic for everyone who loves mezcal and tequila (but not only) Tried some of their cocktail on a guest shift they previous had in Bucharest and I was impressed by how well blended are the flavors Great vibe, great menu, great service. Must try!

Without doubt the bar I enjoyed the most in Athens. The bartenders were super kind and gave amazing recommendations. The place is a bit smaller than other bars around and it feels like more locals go to it. The mezcal tonic is a must!

Out of all the cocktail bars we visited while spending a month in Athens, BarroNegro was the best. From the moment you step inside the open air bar, staff are friendly and guide you through the menu. The cocktails are inspired by Mexico and include tequila or mezcal. My mother-in-law got their popular CDMX Espresso Martini and enjoyed it. For a unique sweet and sour drink, get the Verano Azul. It comes with tequila, melon sorbet, sparking wine, and orange liqueur. It was delicious and unique! To eat, you’re given a small bowl of snacks- peanuts, banana chips, etc.

Exquisitely crafted, nuanced cocktails with an impressive back bar in tequila and mezcal. Excellent and unobtrusive hospitality.

The staff were very friendly and cool. The drinks were well-made, and it was interesting to see that they create all of them with tequila or mezcal as the base.

Another amazing cocktail bar in Athens, focused on Mexico. Interesting drinks expertly made with a lot of skill and attention to detail. The signature margarita is excellent but the Lokalism was my favourite. Genius.

We arrived late evening on a Monday and were served by Ioanna. She was charming and friendly, keen to make sure we had a good time. It seemed to get off to a rough start after I asked her to mix me up a Mezcal cocktail - she seemed a bit flustered by my loose request - but she pulled through (and then some) with several excellent drinks including one with a head of stout foam. She even kindly replaced one pre-mix drink my wife did not like, and was keen to ensure her tidy-up activities were not disturbing us. The whole time we were there it was quiet, just another couple at a different table. Amazing to have the whole place practically to ourselves given its high rating.
