Fantastic day with Steven and Robyn. Well run course, excellent banter and the final product is epic. Hands down one of the best one day experiences in NZ. Stevens one liners might be some of the best I’ve ever heard too!

Day at Barrytown Knifemaking and WOW — what an epic experience! 🔥 From a red-hot chunk of steel to a fully finished knife that I made with my own hands! 💪🔪 Super fun, surprisingly doable, and honestly one of the coolest things I’ve done in NZ. Highly recommend if you’re passing through the West Coast!

Thank you very much Robyn and Steven, you are great hosts and l had the best time ever The smile is still on my face from all the banter and laughs we had while making our knives I could not image from a length of flat steel, a couple of strips of rimu wood and some pieces of brass you could show us how to create the knives we made Your easy and friendly manner made for a really enjoyable day It is a must to do for these of you who are travelling down the Coast Rd near Barrytown, West Coast When we are down that way again in the future we are definitely going to call in and get another knife ,only bigger this time Wishing you both good health and happiness for the future Kindest regards Tony Wynands Napier HB New Zealand

My partner and I had the best day with steve and robin learning and making knives. Tucked away in a beautiful part of the west coast and freedom camping in town by the beach. The day was full of laughs and easy teachings, everyone there walked away with an awesome hand made knife from scratch and great memories. Nice locally made sheaths available for purchase to house the blade. Fantastic people and well worth a stop in. Cheers robin and steve will definitely be back when were next in your part of the world.

Had an amazing day with Steven and Robyn learning how to make knives. Starting from bit of steel, hammering it into shape, all the way up to the finished product! Lunch was provided with a make yourself toasties and even free beer at the end. Highly recommend if you're passing through!
