5/5 Stars - A Must-Visit for History and Art Lovers! The Diaz Museum in Mossel Bay is an absolute gem! My family and I thoroughly enjoyed our visit. I was particularly captivated by the impressive collection of paintings and the intricately detailed ship models, which truly bring the history of maritime exploration to life. It's a wonderful place to spend a few hours immersing yourself in the rich heritage of the region. Highly recommend for anyone looking for an engaging and informative experience, especially if you appreciate art and historical artifacts!

I was very pleasantly surprised by this museum. From the outside, it looks quite unassuming, but there’s so much more than meets the eye. Inside, everything is neat, well-maintained, and thoughtfully presented. The maritime museum is packed with fascinating information, and the shell museum was an unexpected highlight—with a fun mix of aquarium exhibits and display cases showcasing an incredible variety of shells. A great experience overall!

I was pleasantly surprised by how much there was to see and experience at the Bartolomeu Dias Museum – all for just R10 entrance! The variety of exhibits was impressive, from the maritime displays to the Shell Museum, and even the historic Post Office Tree. It’s such a well-kept, informative, and peaceful place, perfect for both adults and kids. One of the highlights was the life-size replica of Dias’s caravel – even though we couldn't go on board, it was still awe-inspiring to see up close. The ethnobotanical garden added a lovely natural touch to the visit, and the aquarium with live molluscs was fascinating. Overall, this museum offers incredible value and a great way to spend a few hours soaking in some local history and nature. Highly recommend it to anyone passing through Mosslbay 👌🏻

Not too badly priced to enter. Very well maintained with an additional aquarium and shell exhibit. Beautiful gardens and very educational. Well worth a visit. Id highly recommend coming here

Enjoyed our visit to the museum! Lots of information available, however feel this a opportunity missed. There are so much more that can be done to make the museum more interactive and maybe add a “show” factor to it. It is a stage screaming for a production and the facilities are there, it should just be made use of! But overall a great visit for history lovers!

It was just decent enough to be called a museum, still can't enter the boat and the shop is very light on things and souvenirs, the art on the walls from an artist "du Toit" was definitely the highlight of this place. Absolute talent!

Displays half finished or just neglected .. ship can be looked at but you can't get onto it anymore which is sad . Antiques are cool though
