Baruch College

Decent college, decent location. Just a college to come and go, that’s pretty much it.

Great university to study at. Love the library. Wish there were more students spaces to eat and relax. The cafeteria is always full and there are never enough seats on the floor levels.

I switched to a community college because of how terrible my experience at Baruch was. I was absolutely miserable.

I transferred here from Brooklyn college to pursue a degree in Statistics and Quantitative Modeling. CUNY to CUNY should transfer credits right? Nope, I had to retake a bunch of the same classes because Baruch thinks theirs are higher level. This set me back an entire year but I thought it was worth it for my degree. Baruch caused me severe depression. When I graduated, I didn’t even open my diploma because of how much I hated Baruch. I haven’t gotten any jobs since my 2 years of graduating. I opened my diploma today to see that I only have a BBA, not a degree in Stats. I spent hours studying hard materials just to have a meaningless degree that I could have taken easier classes for. No college advisor ever gave 2 sh*ts to explain anything. Transferring here was the worst decision I ever made in my life.

Education quality is pretty good but there is a lack of social life on campus. I would say that if you are looking to just get your degree and a good job and then move on with your life this is a great place for you but if you are looking for the playing frisbee on the quad or greek life type of college experience this is not the place for you. Many of the professors here are excellent, especially in the Junior and Senior years. Career center is also pretty good.

It’s a great college. Students are intelligent and the facility itself is wonderful. From my 4 years there, what I did not like is the staff and some professors. The staff is rude and makes everything harder than it needs to be. Many professors are wonderful and knowledgeable. If you’re lucky, you’ll have lectures from great professionals in the field. However, there are some professors even with PhDs who do not know what they’re doing. And some of these professors will blame students for their incapability. If you want to graduate, get ready to endure a lot!

Today was my first day on campus because of Covid. It was very crowded and made me very nervous. Nice school though.
