Basadre Suites Boutique hotel

Have had the pleasure of staying at Hotel Basadre many times. It is a beautiful hotel, with a wonderful staff. From the initial greeting to the handshake goodbye, they treat you like family. They have a delicious international breakfast to start your day and an award winning Peruvian chef to prepare your evening meal. The staff speaks excellent English and will help with tours and transportation during your stay.

Enjoyed the lovely breakfast (eggs, meat, toast, rolls, fruit, yogurt, coffee, teas, juice) in the small breakfast area with a pool view. Don't know if they would have prepared hot chocolate for me because I didn't think to ask but it was not available at the breakfast buffet table. Staff are exceptional, polite and efficient though they do not speak much English which can be a deterrent. Google Translate helps. Location is not so great, at least 10-15 minute walk to any place you may be interested in visiting such as a grocery or restaurant. Internet worked fine. Bathroom was old style but ok. Flushing was a bit of a problem....but apparently the instructions at many hotels in Peru (though the attendant did not mention when we brought up the flushing concern) and even at the airport, is to not throw any paper in the toilet - however this was not something I was planning to practice as I am not used to it - nor was my roommate.

Horrible hotel. Unhelpful staff. Apparently the owners of this hotel do not know how to run a hotel business. Party at the hotel went on all night. After a very long week of work, all I wanted to do was rest...that didn’t happen. Worst hotel experience I’ve ever had on any of the 5 continents I’ve traveled. Is it possible to give negative stars? Please avoid this hotel as if it were the plague.

Excellent Hotel ,the service is impeccable and fair price. Strongly recommended.

Not worth it. To expensive for what you get. Old regular house with stinky bedrooms. Half of the bathroom is outside the bathroom, is in the bedroom.

The standard room is quite simple. If you want to rest for a night it is a very affordable accommodation.
