We used it as a campsite after completing the fimmvorduhals trail incase we were too late to get the last bus out. As I happens we would have made the bus but decided to stay anyway. It was a midweek and with only a handful of campers, it felt like we had the place almost to ourselves. A heavy rain a couple of days before also stopped most 4x4s from getting in The site is spacious with lots of secluded camping spots. The whole site is overlooked by the impressive glacier in the distance. Not the cheapest site, and showers were extra, however the wardens were friendly and helpful. Small site shop and a cafe/restraint that served a limited menu including an unlimited soup (meat and veg option), cake and hot drinks buffet, which is great to fill you up. Also nice, cosy, place to sit and wait for you bus out.

Campsite with basic amenities (toilets and showers. No laundry) and a small restaurant. It’s a good spot for camping because the trees insulate you from the wind. Getting here is serious business. You must have the proper vehicle as the water crossings get increasingly difficult. On our way out of the camp, we witnessed a family in a small van get stuck in one of the smaller rivers. They alleged it was a 4 by 4 vehicle, but they couldn’t even make it over the smaller river crossing.

Great campsite with many possibilities to put up a tent. Taking back your trash is well seen by the staff. Getting here by car is no joke, you have to cross several rivers. Beginning with puddles, these streams get bigger and bigger. You should call first and ask for the road conditions. If you want to take a bus as an alternative, here are the timetables for 2025.

The restaurant has a great soup buffet! Ate so much we could barely walk. Also the bathrooms are very clean.

Probably the best campsite between Lagavegur and Fimm trail, but also kind of mainstream. There is already restaurant and people with caravans. It is really huge camp and it has some nice places with wind protection made of trees. There is grass so camping is more comfortable. Toilets and showers with running water available. You can pay by card and there are trash bins.

Most expensive tent fee along the Laugavegur-skogar trip. The place did have nice toilets, water, place to est in a tent, there was a small restaurant, which i didn’t try. No pictures as it was raining the whole time. Staff was a bit unkowledgeable sbout the path ahead where we were heading to.

Peace and quiet--not at all! There was a group of teenagers upstairs blasting music out of a massive loudspeaker during the day and playing football inside upstairs. There is zero noise insulation in the ceiling/floor. The manager had assured me that she would make sure that they were quiet, but no, and the leaders of the group do not care. They also had some mystery sickness that came through here recently that they denied when asked about it. Then, I heard about again from others and found them testing the water. They had failed to warn me of any problems, even though I asked them about the report of rumored norovirus. For the ridiculous cost and lack of any peace, I would never stay here again. I can see why people opt for camping though.

Really cool natural camping with a great atmosphere. The camp site is huge and very natural looking. You can put your tent anywhere you want. Almost feels like wild camping
