"Bascule Bar, once one of the city’s most popular cocktail bars, famous for its whiskey collection, has been renovated. The new design incorporates elements from South Africa’s shebeen culture, featuring signature cocktails, an impressive whiskey selection, and globally inspired small plates by Czarnecki." - Richard Holmes

Lovely whiskey bar situated across the marina, in the VA waterfront. Has a high-end speakeasy set up. Impressive whisky selection, but also a considerable and impressive wine cellar. Pleasant outdoor seating with views of the marina and Table Mountain. Light and heavy snacks available. Higher end stuff. I had a very pleasant time sipping sparking wine and enjoying the oysters, whole balding in the afternoon sun.

One of my favorite bars in Cape Town. Great food, great service, and an excellent variety of Whiskeys. Staff is always friendly.

Absolute pleasure to have had drinks here. Away from the touristy chaos of the waterfront, this place is a hidden gem for cocktails, whiskey and more. With a very extensive drinks menu and very friendly staff and service, we were saddened we only discovered this place on the last day of our trip. Staff is also very helpful and knowledgeable on all things whiskey. Great experience.

Located at the Cape Grace Hotel, This is a pleasant gem hidden in the waterfront that can be found on the right end of the hotel with access side to the bar. Parking is ample. Staff is amazinly professional and friendly, keeping patrons very satisfied with speedy delivery and tending to customer needs and requests. The focus is naturally whiskey, with a dedicated menu and experience for whiskey lovers across the world. However, the food and cocktails, gorgeous tableand dock view are for everyone. If you are looking for a relaxed spot with good food and cocktails, look no further. Prices are midrange depending on what you order, but the bill can quickly jump. Highly recommend this bar!

Best Tapas in Cape Town. One of the most beautiful backdrops of Table Mountain. The staff are awesome and very friendly. Great service and the food is spectacular! One of the few places you can smoke a cigar outside after your meal and enjoy it with a whiskey or espresso. Thank you to the Bascule team for always making it memorable.

The Bascule Bar located at the Cape Grace is such a pleasant dining experience located in the heart of Cape Town. Situated directly in the harbour, you can dine on the water with a direct view if the majestic Table Mountain. The menu is limited but the options available are diverse and delicious! Should you find yourself near the Cape Grace, I highly recommend visiting the Bascule Bar for a drink and some fantastic food.
