Wonderful experience at Base Camp Bar & Grill! Jeremie provided excellent, attentive service. The food was delicious and thoughtfully prepared — every dish was well balanced and flavorful. We ordered one burger and asked to have it split, and they served it as two beautifully plated half burgers, each with its own sides of fries and vegetables. Such a thoughtful and classy touch. Both cocktails were also excellent. Highly recommend!

This is the worst restaurant I visited in Aspen resort area. Burger meat is not fresh. The waiter served us is very rude. Actually, he didn’t provide service except a word “have a good day” after we paid the bill. But they force to charge us 22% tips. 灰常布好吃,B⚡️

We had such a great experience at Base Camp Bar & Grill, and a huge part of that was thanks to our server, Jeremy. He was incredibly personable and made us feel welcome from the moment we sat down. He knew the menu inside and out and helped us customize our orders so we could get everything exactly the way we wanted. He was also extremely thoughtful and attentive when it came to allergies, which we really appreciated. Overall, the food was delicious, the atmosphere was great, and Jeremy made the whole lunch even better. We’ll definitely be back.

We stopped into Base Camp while the kids were at their ski lesson, and it ended up being such a perfect choice. They recently revamped their menu, and you can tell — everything felt fresh, intentional, and so well done. We grabbed a table right by the outdoor fire with a clear view of the ski lesson area, so we could relax, sip, and still keep an eye on the kids. The whole place has that laid-back Aspen energy… crisp air, mountain views, cozy layers, and the sound of skis in the background. Honestly, exactly what you want on a winter day. The food was the highlight. I ordered the tomato soup and grilled cheese, and it was actual perfection — the tomato soup was rich and flavorful, the grilled cheese was buttery, melty, and comfort in every bite. With the cold weather, it just hit. We also tried the ceviche, which was bright, fresh, and surprisingly vibrant for a mountain restaurant. The chips were super crisp, and the citrusy flavor had the perfect balance. A really nice lighter option to break up all the warm, cozy foods. Between the updated menu, the drinks, and the atmosphere, Base Camp absolutely delivered. If you’re in Aspen — especially hanging around during ski lessons — this is definitely a spot worth stopping at. Cozy fire, great food, and a refreshed menu that feels elevated without trying too hard. Loved it. 🔥⛷️✨

I came here yesterday for a dinner with my friends before our New Year celebration and it was great! Our server Kasia was so sweet and amazing she was so busy but made sure everything came out perfect! 10/10 will definitely be back!

Google
Me and my two adult sons were skiing Snowmass and we wanted a nice lunch. I ordered a burger ($28) and a salad, instead of fries (+$5). Cheese was an extra charge too. I told the waitress I like my burger well done. She said: "sorry, we only cook them one way". Wait, what?! The burger came rare. I couldn't eat it. The waitress was nice and prompt, otherwise. We asked for inside and they put us upstairs with the big door wide open on a super windy day; we had to put our coats on to eat. Not going back.

Google
An amazing place! The food was delicious, but the best part was the service. A huge thank you to Kashia for making our stay so enjoyable; she was incredibly kind, friendly, and helpful in every way she could. Without a doubt, she was the best thing about the place!

Google
Friendly staff but the quality of food has dropped significantly in recent years. The hot drinks are served warm the food - is an also not hot when it arrives. The food itself is fine for bar food but often feels like you can just make the same stuff at home- nothing special. Would be better if it was served hot!

Yelp
Nice basic place to eat at. Girls at the front were very friendly, but a little confused with where and who they were placing (maybe lacking some communication with each other) Service once inside was excellent! Jeremy M was very attentive and informative and super friendly. Food was fine. It was what I expected for a restaurant like this by the mountain. Tater tots were my favorite item

Yelp
Thank you, Kasia, we enjoyed our lunch with you today!! Look forward to visiting again soon--

Yelp
Cup of loaded chili was excellent. Great service at the outside bar from Riley and Ferdinand. Always fun sitting slopeside and eating.

Yelp
Cute restraint right at the base of the mountain. Plenty of outdoor seating with heaters and fireplaces. Street tacos were great!! Friends got the chicken tenders and did NOT enjoy them, so stick with a burger or taco. Service was quick but it did take our server long to get the bill as we were trying to eat quick to get back to skiing

Yelp
Food is decent - prices outrageous. The burger was good, but not at ALL worth $28 for a straight up burger +$2 for cheese. One of us got the Cast Iron Chili, liked how there was both pulled pork & beef. Disappointed that the Smuggler [Peppermint Schnapps Hot Chocolate] came in a paper cup, not classy.

Yelp
We waited for 10 minutes for any staff to even acknowledge us. And even after we were seated, the service was quite sparse. We ordered the most expensive hummus I have ever had. But it was very garlicky, even for a person who loves garlic. Topped off with some pretty old carrots and celery sticks. And also quite expensive. Definitely would give this place a pass.

Hannah F.

Yelp
Unbelievably overpriced and poor service. I would only recommend this "restaurant" if you are into funky tasting coke products, service that focuses on doing less and food that aims to have no repeat customers. You should also really like dirty menus with hardened boogers and feeling angry when paying the bill if you want a pleasant dining experience at this place. 2 very enthusiastic thumbs down.

Yelp
Amazing visit to base camp bar and grill. Austin is the man. Excellent recommendations for food, drink, and activities around the area, very good views and awesome vibes.

Yelp
In the Snowmass Village right next to one of the gondolas and ski lifts, there is Base Camp Bar & Grill with a great view of the mountain. We went for lunch and the food was yummy! And we sat outside right on the balcony overlooking the slopes so we got to watch people ski by! My husband got a burger and I got a salad. The service was a little slow and they gave my husband the wrong beer, but he still drank it. Overall, the food was really good and the view is great!

Andrew H.

Yelp
Last minute dinner. Read reviews and was a bit worried, but meal turned out fine. Nothing great and they were out of one menu item that we came in for. Expensive for what you get compared to some options in Aspen and Snowmass. Our server was friendly.
google avatar

Michael M.

Yelp
Wonderful wings and a comfy place to fuel up between runs. Waiter Jeremy was friendly and efficient. Great location and, as long as your out before the DJ starts on the weekend, the ambiance was great, too. Our old ears found the music too loud once the DJ started cooking.

Yelp
A top notch après spot in Aspen Colorado. The view of the mountain from the upstairs patio can't be beat - we even caught a beautiful sunset. Great service (S/O to Alex who was fantastic), food and drinks. They had lots of local brews on draft, including my favorite hazy IPA from Aspen Brewing Co. For food, we tried the Chip N' Dip which came with guacamole and queso. The perfect snack after a day on the slopes. Highly recommend!

Yelp
Basecamp can be a really fun atmosphere when it's sunny out. Great view but the food is not good. The $21 grilled cheese is made with Kraft singles, cheap white bread, and it's not cooked with oil or butter. It really tasted like lunch at a middle school cafeteria. Wasn't worth the calories or money. You can get better sandwiches at the gas station.

Sue W.

Yelp
Austin is the best! Incredibly friendly, knowledgeable and gave us tips on things to do around town for the holidays.

Erika O.

Yelp
Austin was phenomenal! My partner and I talked about how amazing his service and recommendations were over our lunch meal. Thank you, Austin.

Josiah J.

Yelp
Excellent food, great vibes and very efficient. A special thanks to our server Jeremy for taking excellent care of us.

Yelp
Good bar/pub food at the base of Snowmass Mountain. They are also very good with Gluten Free. Separate fryer for GF foods and Fries. Good drinks as well. The Poke bowl is a go to item for us as well. Go for Apres ski as well as dinner or lunch.

Yelp
If you're looking for congealed cheese on your grilled cheese and half a cup of tomato soup AND you also want to spend $19 USD before tax, boy do I have the place for you. Look, I know it's Aspen and things are expensive, but do you think I'm a silly little goose??? My s/o got the lobster roll, and it came with carbon accurate Burger King fries. I see this as a win. Beyond that, the ambiance is fine. It's just so exactly what you expect. Spoons in the chandeliers is kinda funny though. Server was fine. Brisk. On his way. I respect that.

Yelp
We were unfortunately not impressed. Prices are high anywhere on Snowmass, but we found these especially high with low quality. The worst part was the service. We ordered beers and margaritas. My husbands beer was so flat he was unable to drink it (I have never seen this happen before for him-he will usually drink anything). I ordered the mezcal margarita and what came out was identical to my friends regular margarita. We could not drink them-they tasted like soap. We told the waitress and she didn't seem bothered and did not remove any from the bill, although we could not drink them. Was also charged for the more expensive drink I never received. The food was fine-i liked my beet salad, but think the dressing had dairy (again, don't think our waitress was helpful here). There are better places on Snowmass to check out!

Yelp
Ah yes, it is time for midday cessation of activities for protein-carbo intake. Look no further, Mr. Conehead. Ski a lot, take a break, sit by the outdoor fire, order a frosty cold beer and take in everything around you. Skiers can minimize the number of robotic-looking steps necessary by taking a seat outside. No matter your footwear, that's the place to sit. As cold as it may be, there are heaters at most tables as well as a large oval communal table with a perpetually lit gas fire in the center. We skied three full days, and on two of those we had lunch here, same seats, right by the fire. Four hours and 12+ runs deserved a 30-minute break with a frosty Colorado IPA and a massive chicken sandwich. Both days we had sandwiches and salads, and thought the food was excellent. The service was quick and we were back on the Village Express no more than 45 minutes later to finish out the afternoon. There's plenty of indoor (and third floor) seating as well, but I think the fire is the place to aim for. Though we didn't order it, the grilled cheese and tomato soup, burgers, and sweet potato fries all seemed to be prominent players. Oh, remember all those robot steps you saved by sitting outside? Well, I hope you don't need the bathroom because it's pretty damn far. Basically in another state far. Call me when you get there so I know you're safe far. Leave early to beat the traffic far. Well, not really, but it's definitely not close, and only accessible by an incredibly slow elevator. Better than average pub food, nice local beer selection, and a prime location just a few steps away from the snow. Eat. Sleep. Ski. Repeat.

Yelp
Great service, great views. A bit expensive but so is everything on the slopes. Jeremy gave us great recommendations! Will be back
google avatar

Matt A.

Yelp
This place should get 5 stars for the view alone! Great location and positioned right at the bottom of the slopes in SnowMass. We sat up top and had a few drinks with lunch. What started as a quick lunch turned into 2 hours of drinks and watching people come down the slopes. The service was very friendly and the drinks were great. I had a local IPA and my wife had the Base Camp Cooler. I had the noodle bowl and my wife had a French dip. I would say both were average. The parmesan truffle french fries were amazing! We could of just had the fries and drinks and been super happy.
google avatar

Yelp
Let's start with prefect location, great and friendly staff. The food came out very fast had the brisket it was not good I only eat one bit. The honey wings were delicious .

Conny V.

Yelp
The restaurant was nearly empty at prime time dinner time in high ski season. That should have ring a bell already. I ordered chicken wings. They looked old, like made a few hours ago and just reheated. As a matter of fact, they were already cold when I got them. Does not say a whole lot about a restaurant if they can not even prepare a simple dish like this properly.
google avatar

Tim L.

Yelp
The food is very good. Charlie behind the bar is phenomenal. Kept my drink full and made excellent recommendations on food. The Southwest Salad is excellent and has a nice level of spicy to it. Definitely coming back.
google avatar

James T.

Yelp
This is literally the first restaurant/bar you see coming off the slopes of Snowmass. The big appeal is the outdoor seating, there's plenty and on a nice day it cool to eat and drink while taking in the skiing activities. That's what my party did for lunch one afternoon. Got the loaded chicken nachos ($24) which were good. The servers are all from Argentina and are super friendly. It's a nice little spot, check it out!
google avatar

Susan K.

Yelp
John the bartender is great! Excellent service, always checking if all is good. Fun atmosphere and lots of room.
google avatar

Bre P.

Yelp
Plenty of outdoor seating and socially distant tables inside. All staff has masks on and keeping everything clean. They have gone menu-less and offer QR code to check menus on your phone. The best part is they have espresso available all day! We walked all over looking for coffee/espresso after 4:30pm. Should I even mention the espresso martini?! Oh yes....it's sooo good!
google avatar

Alexander A.

Yelp
Our bartender Bobby at the outdoor terrace area was simply amazing! Made amazing drinks and gave me a lot of knowledge about the mountain. If you are in Snowmass village check him out! Thank you Bobby A+++

Yelp
In town for a local festival I just had to get some real food in my system (I tend to eat snacks all day when there are classes and festivities involved). Since I'd eaten at Base Camp Bar & Grill in the past I thought I'd give it another go despite recalling that it was quite expensive. Met up with my bestie for a late lunch and was excited that there was a variety of seating options available. We went for a large plush couch out on the patio (with a shade no less). It was glorious. Our waiter and some much desired water arrived shortly. I was thankful for the full carafe of water. While there were no specials there certainly were a lot of options available. I went for a smoked chicken salad sandwich and a salad ($16 sandwich, $3 extra for the salad). The bread was well toasted and a little buttery, yum. The bites I took of chicken salad (without grapes) were lacking in flavor so I added some salt (same goes for the homemade dressing for the salad). For $19 I was a little disappointed by the food but more so by the service. Following the delivery of our food we were approached and asked "is everything ok girls" what felt like every 5-10 minutes (even though we were still actively eating). As the patio had more empty than full tables we found this a bit confusing and a bit bothersome. Getting tired of being asked if we were ok for the umpteenth time we took our last couple of bites and paid our check as soon as it arrived. Summertime in Aspen-Snowmass is a real treat. Taking in the sights and activities is even greater. I will definitely seek out another eating establishment to enjoy a leisurely dining experience for the price tag on my next visit.

Jayme L.

Yelp
Terrible service and subpar food. Manager didn't even seem phased we waited 20 mins for a glass of rosé and a can of beer. Upon waiting way too long for our check, server goes "do you wanna just give me a card" instead of bringing the check like a normal establishment. Burger was overcooked and underwhelming, and as I'm typing this he brings my bill and charged me for a bottle of rosé instead of the $10 glass. Update: the manager took care of our bill but still would not recommend based on the food alone
google avatar

Kendra H.

Yelp
Stopped in for a quick bite to eat after a long day of skiing and was extremely pleased with the prices and the food. Snowmass/Aspen can get pricey so it was nice to find a place that wasn't too bad. Food was a big hit. Shared the tenders, truffle fries, tomato bisque, and grilled cheese. I'm a big Buffalo sauce gal so got some of that on the side and it was great too! Highly recommend for those with a hankering for spicy food. Overall great food, service, location, and views!
google avatar

YM C.

Yelp
Service was great. The salt level on the fries were overdone. Otherwise the portions are nice and the food is fantastic.
google avatar

Jen P.

Yelp
We were 6 (3couples) of us and asked to split the checks 3 ways. Waiter said "NO" without a hesitation. To find out...they charge 22% tip automatically when there are more than 6 people. With automatic 22% of tip, service was incredibly terrible. The waiter does not know anything about the menu. We had to ask many times to fill water on the table. DON'T order poke! I ordered tuna poke, but it had 10 pieces of small peanut size tuna. And it was $37. Portion was so small, I eat my friend's fries. I would never ever come back to this place ever again. Be aware of OVER PRICED MENU!!!

Doug A.

Yelp
Ridiculously expensive for incredibly mediocre food. Avoid at all costs - go to pizza place across the street.
google avatar

Ryan C.

Yelp
Absolutely loved this place. Our server was outstanding and funny too. Food was perfect, except for the nachos presentation. I highly recommend the wings and the Moroccan Bowl. Both were incredibly good. We dined inside as sunset was past us already but could see a great looking patio that would be perfect for Apres. They also offer various champagne specials for their Apres Deals. Definitely worth checking out while you're in town.

Robert J.

Yelp
Food was really good and great beer selection. A little pricey on some items but overall a great experience and great atmosphere.

Linda B.

Yelp
Paula was great! very kind to our 5 1/2 year old. The food is just what you want on the mountain!
google avatar

Shar S.

Yelp
Friendly bartender and waitstaff, everyone was really accommodating. The drinks were good, and the wait time was pretty awesome. I'll have to go back tomorrow just to get their names!

Barbie S.

Yelp
My daughter and I went to Base Camp bar & grille this past weekend. My daughter ordered chicken fingers and I was going to order a burger. I was told by our waiter that they only cook burgers to a certain temperature and that he could not guarantee I would get a burger well done. I told the waiter to not order me a burger because if it was not well done, I would not eat it. I have never been someplace that would not cook your food the way you wanted it. My daughters chicken fingers were not crispy, and the breading just fell off the chicken fingers. Needless to say, my daughter did not eat her meal and I was left to order just chips and dip. I will not return on our many trips up to Snowmass.

Tom O.

Yelp
I ordered a simple entree, chicken strips and tots for a quick lunch. Well that's what I got. My food came out 2 min. After I orders. The food is premade!!!! The 4 chicken strips were cold only to be outdone by the ice cold tots. I expected it to be pricey being next to the ski lift. Didn't expect cold premade food.

Jack K.

Yelp
Matthew provided 5 star service and food was delicious!! 10/10 would go again- awesome location, great ambiance. Can't recommend highly enough!!

Catherine S.

Yelp
Went around 12:30 for lunch, the inside and outside was fairly empty was told I couldn't get a table as they were booked. I asked to make a reservation for the next day for lunch to ensure I could get a table and was told they don't take lunch reservations for 2 people.

Nicolette W.

Yelp
John was the beat bartender ! Made really good drinks and the food was amazing. Great view. Will be back
google avatar

Gracie M.

Yelp
I wasn't thrilled about my lunch here but my friends did enjoy their food so that accounts for the third star. I ordered a grilled cheese and tomato bisque and the tomato bisque tasted completely burned, like maybe the bottom of the soup had burned and no one knew it had, and the flavor just seeped into the whole soup even though they maybe switched pots. So I told them. At first they didn't believe me and said that's how it normally tastes. Well... here's the thing. I own restaurants so I know a *little* of what I'm talking about. I finally got someone who took it back and agreed it did taste burned, but the grilled cheese didn't really make up for it, the butter they use tasted like margerine or had some weird butter flavor to it, and the whole meal for me was just off. I don't know how one messes up grilled cheese and tomato but I just don't think I could bring myself to patron this place ever again.
google avatar

Erin K.

Yelp
I'm sure this review won't make a different since it's right in the village and people will come here regardless, but if you're reading this...know that your food is frozen, terrible quality, and the service is abysmal. I was ignored, placed in the back of the restaurant during slow times, was served an app (it was still cold) after multiple requests and then forgotten about.
google avatar

Brandy G.

Yelp
The bar was full so I asked for a table. There were at least 3 open tables outside and I was denied a table because I was a party of one. I asked the host how that is fair if nobody else is waiting for a table and I'm a paying customer. Already feeling that Aspen hospitality.

Tady M.

Yelp
Went for super-bowl expected to have an exciting crowd the place was dead but what was more upsetting was the fact we were seated in an area (they never use) per management and we had to eat in the darkness . ABSOLUTELY no light . We, party of 6 each had to use our phone flash light to see and eat our food. Waitress management everyone saw us and not care to even switch us . Extremely upsetting not only we were forced to pay the 20% gratuity but we were told there was nothing they could had done . We made reservations in person 24hrs ahead and put our credit card to hold our spot so for Management to just say say nothing we could have done it's extremely upset. I''m in sales and that's a statement you never tell your customers .

Paul K.

Yelp
The beer was good, the food was good, the service was good... The bill came to $47, I paid the waitress $11 cash as a tip but my credit card was billed for $57. Not happy about that... Guess I won't be eating there again...
