We stopped into Base Camp while the kids were at their ski lesson, and it ended up being such a perfect choice. They recently revamped their menu, and you can tell — everything felt fresh, intentional, and so well done.
We grabbed a table right by the outdoor fire with a clear view of the ski lesson area, so we could relax, sip, and still keep an eye on the kids. The whole place has that laid-back Aspen energy… crisp air, mountain views, cozy layers, and the sound of skis in the background. Honestly, exactly what you want on a winter day.
The food was the highlight.
I ordered the tomato soup and grilled cheese, and it was actual perfection — the tomato soup was rich and flavorful, the grilled cheese was buttery, melty, and comfort in every bite. With the cold weather, it just hit.
We also tried the ceviche, which was bright, fresh, and surprisingly vibrant for a mountain restaurant. The chips were super crisp, and the citrusy flavor had the perfect balance. A really nice lighter option to break up all the warm, cozy foods.
Between the updated menu, the drinks, and the atmosphere, Base Camp absolutely delivered. If you’re in Aspen — especially hanging around during ski lessons — this is definitely a spot worth stopping at. Cozy fire, great food, and a refreshed menu that feels elevated without trying too hard.
Loved it. 🔥⛷️✨
