Basecamp Frich’s Hjerkinn

We stayed two nights, and totally enjoyed our stay. The rooms and shared facilities are spacious and clean, and breakfast is very extensive and delicious: eggs, bread, yoghurt, cereals, cheese, meat, fish confitures, fruit, vegetables - all you can wish for. The location is great, close to the trails to explore Dovrefjell NP. Totally recommended!

My boyfriend and I stopped here only to get some breakfast. We were a bit late so we missed the normal breakfast hours. However, we decided to get a baguette each. They were freshly prepared for us by the chef. They came with a side salad. The chef, Louis (please forgive the spelling if it’s wrong), was a super host and presented a very high level of hospitality. The baguettes were warm and fresh. We enjoyed our experience a lot.

For being a motel in the mountains it has slightly better standard, the expected for a motel in this type of location. It is not hotel standard, but practical for drying clothes and nice showers for communal use downstairs. Downstairs you also find a sauna and cosy cellar living room. I loke that they offer reindeer for dinner and they are good at handling allergenes. Good value for money. BTW - I see some given a bad score for food in their post, but it seems like the motel changed their menu since then. The food was good and at a affordable price.

Very practical spaces. Lots of hangers and places for your wet hiking clothes, drying rooms , sauna, clean toilets and showers even if they are common space (we were indeed not many guests but i tend to think they are really clean otherwise), comfy bunk beds. View is spectacular. Restaurant offers good food. Good rate quality price

Good standard on this hostell at Dovre. The room are simple but clean and with good beds. The Staff is friendly. The food is very good and are homemade and gives a good introduction to the Norwegian food.|This is a good place to stay if you want to go on Moskussafari or walk the top to Snøhetta. The only thing Missing was the dry-room that did not worked to well for drying clothes after heavy rain..

The showers and toilets were wonderful. The Snøhetta view point is close by. The breakfast was excellent.

Comfortable beds, super clean, not many options of food is expensive but really good! Big clean toilets with shower, nice 🥵sauna (we really enjoyed it at midnight😍). Nice relaxing area and gym. Personal working there so friendly. Everything looks like new.

Great location, Nice and clean rooms. Bathrooms newly upgraded and looks great. Gym in the basement for some training if you want. Newly done TV room also very Nice. Nice people working there. The bus to Snøheim goes from here, they also have different hikes you can go on with a guide. We went for a hikes on our own and its just to go outside the door and walk into the mountains. We also had kids with us who really enjoyed this Place!
