Basecamp Lodge Canmore (Canmore, Alberta) Verified Reviews | Tablet Hotels

"Canada’s Basecamp Resorts are part of a new movement of outdoor-focused hotels that adapt modern boutique-hotel design to settings that are prized by adventuresome travelers; places like Canmore, Alberta, on the edge of Banff National Park. Basecamp Lodge Canmore’s rooms and suites are stylish but unfussy — a scuff from a hiking boot won’t ruin any finishes here — and some include gas fireplaces, while the Micro Suite adds a full kitchen. There’s a sauna for recovering after a day’s activity, and breakfast is delivered to every room each morning — borrow a cruiser bike to explore the town, during the summer season." - Tablet Hotels

Comfortable and well appointed rooms. Mattress was great. Very clean and well maintained. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Location was close enough to downtown Canmore that it was a short walk. It was right beside the train tracks, but insulation was very good. Some noise but I slept through fine.

Amazing location and staff. The room was cozy and we appreciated the common area to relax or have a meal. There was a clean kitchen area where they had a self serve espresso machine. I also enjoyed the sauna after a long day hiking.

Tiny suite with no view, unlike the photos. The parking lot had a magnificent view of the Rockies! I just wish our room had a fraction of that view. It was noisy because of the train and people around, but they did provide complimentary comfortable earplugs. The amenities were good, bed was comfortable, and I appreciated the Rocky Mountain Soap. The micro suite is truly micro - upgrade if you can! Room temperature hard to modulate. The service was good however, they did check up on us to see if we needed anything.

We had a great stay at Basecamp Lodge Canmore! Joseph from the hotel staff was super friendly and helpful throughout our stay. We were able to use the sauna every day—it was always clean, relaxing, and fresh towels were always available. The shared kitchen and common areas were also spotless and well-maintained, just like our room. The views from our room was beautiful, and the location is perfect with trails nearby and within walking distance to downtown canmore. We even took a scenic trail straight into town. They also provide ear plugs in the room because of the nearby train, but it didn’t really bother us. Only minor cons were the tight parking spaces and wishing the duvet sheets were a bit thicker for those cooler nights. Even though we booked during the spring deals, we’d definitely come back again. Overall, a great stay!

What I loved: Shower pressure was amazing. Room was clean. Having coffee available is great. Fairly quiet at night. Great access to the mountains for a discounted price What could be better: WiFi was slow The parking situation leaves much to be desired The bathroom could have one more light over the bath. The train tracks are really close. Walls are a bit thin The AC/Heater feels dated/cheap.

Overall a great hotel. Everything is there for a comfortable stay. Great location, cozy and clean rooms, shared kitchen area with coffee machine and microwave oven, ice machine. Of the minuses, the train is right outside the window and I do not recommend it to those who sleep lightly, there is a very narrow parking lot behind the hotel.

Basecamp Lodge in Canmore was a perfect choice for my stay. The hotel was easy to find with plenty of free parking, and I felt safe and comfortable throughout my visit. I stayed in the main lodge in a room facing the beautiful Three Sisters mountains—waking up to that view from a king-size bed was a real treat. The location is ideal: it’s about a 30-minute walk or a short drive to the Canmore Information Center, where many tours depart. Just across the railway tracks behind the hotel is a great local brewery and a grocery store—super convenient for grabbing drinks or snacks. The hotel also offers complimentary bikes, which is perfect for exploring the town’s excellent pedestrian and bike paths. For larger groups or families, Basecamp also has a nearby resort with more spacious rooms and extra amenities. Overall, the lodge was clean, comfortable, and perfectly situated for enjoying all that Canmore has to offer. I’d absolutely stay here again.

Super spacious room! Cool modern vibe. Also love the public living room area. We got back from the park very late so we ate takeouts here. Very relaxing and cozy.

Yelp
Not sure why this spot has 1 star review. I stayed here twice already, once in 2022 and then a couple weeks ago. I love how affordable this is and the location. We stayed here because it was slightly cheaper than staying at downtown Banff, despite the extra 20 min drive to this town. Canmore is an awesome small town that has beautiful views, decent food, and great location 20 min south of Banff. We got a 1 king bedroom that was a decent size. We checked in at the front desk with no issues. There is no door key but you get a code to unlock the door. The room was clean and had all the basic necessities that we need. Parking is free, but it does get packed. We would come back from our morning/day trips and just park our car before dinner, then walk to nearby restaurants. There's a Blake's across the street, Grande restaurant a couple blocks away, and an awesome Thai spot that I recommend a few blocks away. Downtown is about 10-15minute walk. The pretty walking trail is only 10 minutes walk. This lodge doesn't have a gym or pool, but there is a dry sauna. For the price point, totally worth staying here! There is complimentary breakfast which was nice, but not much options. Just fruit, bread, or muffin, along with coffee and juice. We just grab a couple items in the morning as snack for the day. Tim Horton's is a few min drive, and this lodge is close to the highway.

Yelp
Terrible customer service. A lady on the phone called my wife an idiot for trying to cancel a reservation during a wildfire. They got my review deleted so I am reposting
