I generally love Bashas but this Bashas is the smallest Bashas I've ever experienced. For being so small, less folks are able to cram in but oh do they try. Plus, the options are severely limited and due to this, the prices are pretty high. Also, the produce is on the lower end of the spectrum ($3.99 for a small pint of Brussels sprouts that upon closer inspection were looking pretty rough). Since this is the closest grocery store to where I was staying while in Flagstaff, it was pretty much the only option (since I don't know where the other grocery stores are).
Luckily, the cashier was pretty entertaining purely by accident. I was purchasing a variety of items but the 30lb box of apples and a bottle of sparkling margarita really caught the cashier's attention.
Holding up the booze, the cashier looks at me, looks back to the bottle, looks at me and says, "This looks amazing."
I mumble something about that's why I'm buying it. He responds enthusiastically, "You have to come back and tell me how it is."
I agree and then he notices the large box of apples. "What is this mystery box?"
"It's a box of apples."
"What are you going to do with all those apples?!"
"We're going to feed them to the deer."
"No pie? You aren't going to make pie?"
"No..."
"I guess no one gets any pie this year."
Overall, I'd come back as long as that cashier is just as enthusiastic when I purchase more mundane items.
